Fandom made me dislike Lucifer so much with all uwu-ification and girly-ification of him that when dew days ago I rewatched HH for the first time since February I was honestly surprised how much I liked him the way he is in canon 😅

Oh, I rewatch HH all the time. Sometimes for fun, but most of the time it's before I sit down to write my fics so that their characterizations and voices are fresh in my mind. It's very, very helpful. I highly recommend it 👌

Maybe that's why fanon Lucifer bothers me so much all the time. I rewatch the show too often to be sucked into fanon characterizations. IDK I highly recommend rewatches, not only cuz it's a nice refresh of the characters, but it's just fun :>

I'm back I've got fic brainrot and I'm gonna dump all these ideas here because I might just explode if I keep them to myself

The Bad Batch : Pacific Rim Crossover

I'm not the first person to have the idea to cross over these two universes! The amazing @cloned-eyes has the most awesome fanart for their ideas for a crossover from 2023, where the Batch are Jaeger pilots! But I've been riffing my own ideas off of the events of Pacific Rim 2 and Pacific Rim: The Black as well as The Bad Batch Season 3 with thanks also to @theproblemwithstardust who I first started this conversation with, and of course my awesome kiddo who acts as a sounding board for me to bounce all my new ideas off of.

Okay look instead of rewriting all this I'm just gonna copy-paste the texts I sent the kiddo, so you're going to get the full bombardment-with-my-overactive-imagination experience I hope it's not too much 😅😅 Here goes:-

Bad Batch Pacific Rim AU Tantiss is where they're making the jaeger/kaiju hybrids Newt is Hemlock?? Also experimenting to make human/kaiju hybrids (like Boy in The Black) and that is Omega because her blood allows for full bonding of the human and alien DNA strands??

OHHHHHHHH ALTERNATE IDEA JUST DROPPED Tech and Cross used to be pilots until Crosshair left (joined the empire) he tried to drift with Cody and couldn't (Desix mission) thought he'd never find someone he trusted enough to drift with again until he met Mayday AND THEN IT'S MAYDAY WHO DIES WHILST THEY ARE DRIFT LINKED and Cross is taken to Tantiss, he assumes the only other person he'd ever get in a Jaeger with is Tech his original drift partner but Tech had since died trying to rescue him THEN he has to learn to drift with Omega

OR the thing that makes the Batch so special/sets them apart as an elite squad is that they can ALL drift with each other? Side note the other batallions are like Shatterdome bases so a number of jaeger pilots plus support staff eg/ the 501st obviously Fives/Echo were a pilot team (til Echo was captured and force-drift-interrogated for 18 months abd Fives died trying to pilot a jaeger solo without him???) (are the chips something to do with the human/kaiju hybrid program OH GOD the ideas won't stop)

OKAY BECAUSE IT MAKES EVEN MORE SENSE THAT THE CLONES ARE EMBEDDED WITH KAIJU TISSUE WHICH COULD BE ACTIVATED TO TAKE OVER THEIR BODIES LIKE THE DRONES because it parallels the control chips being used to secretly turn the Republic's army against the Jedi anyway it means Crosshair has had minimal kaiju activation (Tup went full drone and that's when Fives found out about the chips) so makes it even more fitting that he and Omega learn to drift together? And usually the kaiju material destroys the host but the difference with Omega is that it's a symbiotic relationship, not parasitic, does that make sense??

The Batch are other experiments in kaiju-human hybridisation. They believe their enhancements are due to being injected with kaiju cells, they don't know about the chips/parasites but for them instead of remaining dormant til activation the parasite achieved a partial but not full hybridisation (unlike Omega who is a full hybrid)

Cid is Hannibal Chau, Ord Mantell is the bone slums, after they flee the Empire the Batch work as kaiju exterminators/stealing decommissioned jaeger parts (Trace and Rafa and the droid factory)

BECAUSE THE KAIJU ARE ALL CLONES ANYWAY CREATED BY THE PRECURSORS and maybe the Batch 'looking different' should be slightly kaijuish features on their human bodies?? As opposed to the normal clones who look human and only become kaiju-drones after the chips activate like the drones in PR2? Although I need to think that through because what happens when they encounter clones like Rex and Howzer and Mayday.... hmm okay that idea needs more thought...

oh wait I had another idea ECHO WAS CAPTURED AND FORCED TO REMOTELY GHOST-DRIFT A KAIJU JAEGER VERSUS HIS OLD JAEGER TEAMS AS THE PARALLEL FOR HIM BEING THE ALGORITHM

UPDATE Echo was captured and using their own technology against them the Kaiju/Precursors drifted with Echo to learn the human defence secrets??? (Fives and Echo carried the payload through the rift, Fives ejected in time but Echo didn't!!) Then on his rescue/return Echo can use the 2-way pathway with the kaiju to inform his allies/interect with/sense kaiju differently (like using his scomp into computers!)

Okay so the Kaminoans are behind the human/kaiju hybrid program and Hemlock and Tantiss etc is the kaiju-jaeger hybrids and to allow more kaiju into the world? And the reason he needs Omega is because she is the only fully successful hybrid so far?

Moochi (that was the baby rancor right??) is a baby kaiju and Wrecker human-kaiju hybrid has to go toe to toe with her in combat XD

The jaeger the Batch is piloting on Eriadu is damaged and they are left helpless to stop incoming attacks. Tech manages to get it running but "there is no time, Wrecker" for one of the others to join him in the cockpit from where they've been trying to fend off attackers with hand-weapons. So he solo-pilots it to get him out there and the neural strain of solo piloting is what kills him :')

(I've totally distracted myself from study now imagining the Batch stood on the outside of their jaeger like Chuck and Herc Hansen with Striker Eureka only Tech is in the cockpit and why can't they get back to him quickly? Maybe the elevator hatch has broken closed? and then Wrecker facing his fear of heights of abseil down the outside of the jaeger head to the broken glass visor "Tech!" "Plan 99, Wrecker" help me I'm hurting my own feelings 😂

TECH LIVES TECH IS CX-2 IDEAS JUST DROPPED okay so Tech 'dies' (in inverted commas) and what happens is that on like a base instinct level his body responds to save him by accelerating his partial kaiju hybridisation to a full hybridisation! But instead of Omega being a human-bodied full hybrid he becomes a kaiju-bodied one and his human mind is subsumed by the kaiju instincts and later he destroys the Havoc Marauder (clearly their main Jaeger) so the other CX clones in Tantiss are successful hybridisation experiments and the reason they are experimenting on the captive clones is to produce a stable state of hybridisation instead of the usual chip/parasite activation which consumes the host???? (I'm on fire these ideas are pure gold I'm sure 😁😂)

Which is why Crosshair is of interest in the experiments because he is already a partial hybrid and had a chip/parasite activation which didn't consume him but that means he's like built up a resistance to it which is why the reconditioning/hybridisation acceleration process doesn't work on him???

Pabu is a tiny island paradise which has somehow, miraculously, escaped Kaiju attack (it's just far enough from the breach in the right direction ie/ not towards any continental landmasses) until of course the Empire come to get Omega and brings kaiju-jaeger hybrids and the kaiju clone/drones :')

I just kept sending texts whenever I got a new idea throughout the day and then the poor kiddo got them all when they switched their phone back on after school and this was their response XD

i was struggling SO hard on paradoxical but then i reblogged those posts abt astarion being goofy during sex and in general, and thought abt how i breezed through the smut in carry us through winter bc it was full of banter, vs how hard it was to write expiate our absence bc it was too serious, and had the epiphany. *insert “oh yeah it’s all coming together” kronk meme*
