A rec for today.
So, now that I am swimming in love for Tollywood, and have seen all of Ram Charan's movies, and most of Tarak's movies, I moved on to other movies by Rajamouli, which led me of course to discover Prabhas who is a nice tall drink of cold water.
I saw him in Baahubali, Salaar and Kalki 2898 and then went back to watch Darling because, well, his nickname is Darling and I had to see why he was named that.
This rec is none of those movies.
Chakram is a movie he made in 2005, co-writen and directed by Krishna Vamsi (Who also wrote and directed Rakhee and Govindudu Andarivadele which... explains a lot). It also stars Asin and Charmy Kaur as Prabhas's love interests because Tollywood runs in the rails of the polyamory train I swear, and of course my adored Prakash Raj as well as a few of the already usual suspects for a Tollywood film.
And it is gorgeous.
Far more linear than what I am used to with Tollywood, Chakram is a full dramedy. It has a lot of comedy (And seriously if your ONLY experience with Prabhas is Salaar? You are NOT READY. Baahubali and Kalki 2898 let him show his comedy chops a bit more when he's being an adorable doofus, but not even close to how he is here), but also a lot of heart and by the time I finished the movie, I was tearing up.
The story is very simple: Chakram (Prabhas), a NRI medicine student who just returned to India, is about to get married to his cousin -yes, this is a common thing in Tollywood films- when he... decides not to. Without telling anyone, he runs away from the wedding and disappears. His dad (Prakash Raj), a wealthy village leader, is not happy about it and sets up a hunt for his son, determined to get him back and married.
Chakram ends up in Hyderabad and, by chance, ends up in a small neighbourhood where everyone has... small problems that have ended up poisoning pretty much everyone's relationships with everyone. Getting a place to stay with a retired actor whose only dream is to build an orphanage, Chakram promises to help him to build said orphanage and also, starts little by little helping everyone in the neighbourhood to make the place a better place.
Until he's found by his father, and then he decides to run away again, not telling anyone, in the middle of the night.
WHY is Chakram running away? Well, you have to watch the movie to know. But that is not really the important part of the movie. What is gorgeous here is the message, as the only thing Charkam wants is to make sure everyone is happy, and everyone smiles.

The movie is beautiful... just ignore the Song Sony Cellphone.

Shri Vamshivadana Thakura appearance day Shri Vansivadananda Thakura appeared on the full moon day of the month of Caitra. Within Kuliya exist the villages, Teghari. Beciyava, Bedrapara and Cinedanga. The sons of Srikar Chattopadhyay moved from Bilvagram (Patuli) to Beciyanagram. Shri Shri Yudhisthir Chattopadhyay had three sons: Madhava das (Chakari Chattopadhyoy), Shri Hari dasa (Tin Kari) and Shri Krishna Sampati (Dui Kari). When Mahaprabhu came from Puri to have darshan of his mother and the river Ganges he stayed for seven days in the house of Madhava dasa at Kulia. At this time he excused Devananda Pandit along with all of the offenses of everyone else. Therefore the place came to be known as ‘Aparadh Banjan Pat.’ Shri Vamsi Thakura appeared in the home of Shri Madhava dasa. His mother’s name was Shrimati Candrakala Devi. Vansivadananda is the incarnation of Shri Krishna’s flute. On the day of his birth Mahaprabhu was present in the house of Shri Madhava das, along with Shri Advaita Acharya. Madhava was very devoted to Mahaprabhu and Prabhu was also very affectionate to him and his son Vansi. Vansi das was present at Navadwipa when Acharya Prabhu came there. Vamsi was engaged in the service of Visnupriya and was the receptacle of her unlimited mercy. One time Visnupriya devi and Vansi Thakura decided to give up taking food and water, there not being any point in maintaining their bodies which were so racked with the pain of separation from Mahaprabhu. Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, however, didn’t approve of this and manifested Himself before them. Then He requested them not to behave so rashly, and then instructed them both to worship His Deity form in order to mitigate their feelings of separation. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqsJyFgoAhg/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

i would love to hear a 2000s SSR and Tarak rant 🙏
Ok so listen up! I'll give three facts right now, so that I don't run you away:
1. There were "Singhamalai" sword replicas made during the Simhadri craze and it was WILD y'all. Everybody everywhere knew references to Simhadri and SSR became a star director overnight, full mass spectacle (and then came Vikramarkudu and Chatrapathi which is a story for another time)
2. SSR is known affectionately as Jakanna by Tarak and Charan (and most of his crew and cast) but you know who gave that nickname and when? During Sye (SSR's movie in 2004 with Nithiin and Genelia Deshmukh), Rajamouli's good friend and actor Rajeev Kanakala (in rrr he plays the man who warns them about Bheem, calls him a shepherd) came up with that nickname oweing to SSR's attention to detail amd perfectionist tendencies (affectionate). In a 1964 telugu movie, Jakanna was a man who carved beautiful sculptures out of stone. He was the perfect sculptor ever known and after years, his estranged son challenges his talent. So yeah, that's how that nickname came to be
3. Tarak did a slew of action dramedies between 2002 to 2005 after his grown up debut with SSR's very own Student No. 1: Aadhi (2002), then Simhadri (2003), then Samba (2004) etc. It wasn't till 2006 till he could break out of the stereotype and do a movie called Rakhi with esteemed director Krishna Vamsi. It gained critical acclaim as amongst Tarak's first boosting roles.
A bonus: The heavy music spacing across The Fire scenes in RRR actually sound a lot like the background score of SSR's Vikramarkudu movie (2006)

Introduction to Vedantu
Vedantu is one of India's leading online education platforms that provides live tutoring for students in various subjects, ranging from school-level topics to competitive exams like JEE, NEET, and more. Founded in 2011 by four IITians—Vamsi Krishna, Pulkit Jain, Anand Prakash, and Biswajit Saha—Vedantu aims to make quality education accessible to students across India and beyond. The platform offers personalized learning experiences with interactive live sessions, allowing students to learn at their own pace.
History of Vedantu
Vedantu began its journey in 2011 with the vision of providing a more accessible and effective way of learning. The founders, who were former students of the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), were inspired to create an online platform that would cater to the educational needs of students outside the traditional classroom setting.
In its initial years, Vedantu faced challenges as online education was a relatively new concept in India. However, through perseverance and a commitment to high-quality content and personalized learning, the platform gained traction. By 2014, Vedantu launched its first live online tutoring service, which allowed students to interact with teachers in real time, marking a significant shift from pre-recorded lessons.
As the popularity of online education grew, Vedantu expanded its offerings, covering more subjects and exam preparations. It quickly gained recognition as a leader in the online tutoring space. The company has also received significant funding from investors, which helped fuel its rapid growth and development.
Today, Vedantu is trusted by millions of students across India and abroad. It has partnered with schools and educational institutions, and its platform is used by students ranging from school-goers to aspiring professionals. Vedantu's success can be attributed to its unique approach of combining technology and education to provide an engaging and effective learning experience.
Vedantu's Logo
The Vedantu logo is a modern and dynamic representation of its core values: innovation, growth, and accessibility. The logo features a stylized "V" formed by two upward-moving shapes, symbolizing the ascent of knowledge and success. The "V" also represents Vedantu's name, making the logo both simple and impactful.
The color palette of the logo predominantly includes orange, symbolizing energy, enthusiasm, and optimism—qualities that align with the platform's mission to empower students. The clean, bold typeface used in the word "Vedantu" further emphasizes the brand's professional yet approachable nature.
The logo encapsulates the essence of Vedantu’s dedication to nurturing students and helping them reach their full potential through personalized learning solutions.

The KANGUVA Movie
"Kanguva" appears to be an upcoming Indian Tamil-language fantasy action film, directed by Siva and produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja, V. Vamsi Krishna Reddy, and Pramod Uppalapati under the banners of Studio Green and UV Creations². The film is also known as "The Man with the Power of Fire" and is marketed as a "mighty valiant saga" promising heavy action and drama³. With music composed by Devi Sri Prasad and visuals from cinematographer Vetri Palanisany, "Kanguva" is set to offer a raw, rustic, and new visual experience to the audience³. The cast includes Suriya in the lead role, with Disha Patani also starring⁵.
Here's a unique take on the movie's premise:
In the mystical lands of ancient Tamilakam, where legends whisper through the winds, there emerges a tale of valor and fire. "Kanguva," a saga that weaves the story of Veeran, a warrior blessed with the enigmatic power of Agni—the divine fire. Veeran's journey is not just one of battles and glory; it is a quest that treads the fine line between myth and reality, where every step forward is a dance with destiny.
As Veeran confronts adversaries both mortal and otherworldly, "Kanguva" unfolds as a cinematic tapestry rich in culture and pulsating with action. It's a narrative that promises to captivate audiences with its grandeur and the raw intensity of its protagonist's plight.
Will Veeran's fiery prowess lead him to victory, or will it consume him in its flames? Only time will tell as "Kanguva" prepares to set the silver screen ablaze with its epic storytelling.
