oh, if you don't mind me requesting a second deck, what about krark/gilanra?
Tumblr media
Lots of Gruul today! Mmmmmh, fairly generic pair, but I assume the idea is to copy big spells as many times as needed? Hard to give any recommendations with confidence not knowing exactly where you landed, but I'll assume a spell copying deck that... Probably ended up with a fair few treasures?
The first suggestion will be one thrown completely at random, which is fitting, because it's more of a fun card than a good one. Push your luck!
Tumblr media
Other than that, what comes to mind is that cascade is a good way to get around the risks associated with Krark, but it also diminishes the reward if the spell gets copied, for example for spells that do NOTHING but cascade like Throes of Chaos. So what we probably want is grant cascade to spells that don't naturally have it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which leads me to thinking about another thing that doesn't care if spells resolve: committing crimes, at least if enough of the spells in the deck do that. Just be aware that copying a spell with Krark and picking new targets doesn't commit any new crimes, it's a weird rule, but it usually doesn't matter because the crime triggers are already limited to one a turn.
Notably, copying spells that can target opponents' spells also can commit crimes for these two.

So if I control an inspiring statuary and a Krark clan Ironworks, and I would like to cast for example a smothering tithe, can I tap an artifact for improvise then sacrifice that same artifact for KCI's mana ability to make my 3 colorless "mana"?
Tumblr media
No, this doesn't work.
When you're casting a spell, you have to generate mana for the spell before you begin paying its cost. This means that the artifact will have already been sacrificed to KCI for mana by the time you can tap other artifacts to help pay with Improvise.

Question inspired by your response to the krark ask: What card type would be used to represent a body part that's still attached to its owner?
Here’s all the other body parts of Krark:

fun question/thought experiment for my MTG followers: what single card has been responsible for the most judge calls at physical events? note that this is NOT asking which card confuses new players the most; otherwise we could just name Ice Cauldron or Illusionary Mask and call it a day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
we're looking for a card that saw enough play to make it a common sight at events while being complicated enough to necessitate judge calls despite this increased popularity. personally i'd say Krark-Clan Ironworks or Animate Dead, the latter because knowing when to use your interaction/removal against the card is extremely important and nonobvious, and the former specifically because its interaction with Scrap Trawler and Chromatic Star is so nonintuitive that i have watched multiple videos explaining exactly how and why it works (with animations to help) and im still not 100% certain i understand it
youtube
honorable mention goes to Chains of Mephistopheles, which was apparently unironically pretty decent back in its heyday (the tl;dr version is that it forces everyone to discard whenever they draw except for once per turn during their draw step, effectively stopping you from gaining card advantage through draw spells) but the absolute number of people playing the game when it was relevant is way lower than with either of the previous two cards (yes i know Animate Dead is similarly old but it's still relevant today)

Cornwall's Random Card of the Day #919: Ral Zarek
Tumblr media
Ral Zarek is a mythic rare from Dragon's Maze, seen here in its Ravnica Remastered printing.
Ral Zarek was originally made as an opponent in the Duels of the Planeswalkers game: a sort of stumbling, proto-Arena which leaned more into PvE, I believe. Eventually, they decided to just make him a real boy and print this card.
This card is one of those effects that split the difference between effects's colours: it has one blue, one red, and one that is kinda blue and kinda red. Coin flipping doesn't happen much in Magic, but this TECHNICALLY lets you get five extra turns! Another reason to use Chance Encounter and Krark's Thumb.

Hey, what are some fun commander decks? I started a few weeks ago and mainly played with a modified version of the exit from exile starter deck thingy
First things first I cannot tell you how much I strongly recommend proxying your cards if you are only playing casual commander. Magic can be insanely expensive and there is no need to spend money to play the game.
You can go to this website, upload your deck list, and it will create a page of images for you to take to a print shop. Get them made in color and on some nice card stock and you have some high quality proxies.
Mpcfill.com
You can also use this website to get inspiration for your decks:
Now actual deck recommendations is kinda hard because magic (and Commander in particular) has so many options and so many of them are fun. It really depends on what kind of player you are, how powerful you want your deck to be, ect. I have built close to 50 commander decks in the past 6 years or so and they were all pretty different. I was at the point were I was trying to create obscure decks, with weird themes and color combinations.
I'll just go ahead and list some of my absolute favorite commanders and you look them up to see if any interest you.
Orvar the All Form (mono blue ramp)
Nethroi, Apex of Death (Graveyard)
Alibou, Ancient Witness (Artifact creatures and trigger replication)
Yarok the Desecrated (landfall)
Sisay, Weatherlight Captain (Superfriends / Planeswalkers)
Ghen, Arcanum Weaver (Sagas & some slight Stax pieces)
Shorikai, Genesis Engine (Infinite vehicles & tokens)
Pako, Arcane Retriever & Halden, Avid Arcanist (Ramp into giant spells that I copy 15 times to kill the table)
Amareth, the Lustrous (Dragons. Literally 0 non dragon creatures)
Lord Windgrace (landfall / graveyard)
Xantcha, Sleepr Agent (Chaos [mild])
Rograkh, Song of Rograkh & Krark, the Thumbless (mono red storm where the goal was to lose coin flips)
Those are the ones that I can think off of the top of my head. Feel free to hit up my DMs if you ever wanna talk more specifically about EDH deck building. I've gotten pretty decent at it over the years :3
