#Kotlc theme week

So I completely forgot I was hosting a theme weekend next month (July 6-7 so next week)

The theme is Kotlc councilors but since it’s only two days I didn’t want to have specific prompts so this weekend is more just if you wanted to write something about current or past councilors

Like I said there are no prompts so feel free to write whatever you want!

Sokeefe Week 2024 Prompts!

Sokeefe Week begins on January 1st and ends on January 7th, but creations will still be accepted and compiled for months after the date!

Prompts:

Day One: Royalty

This is a good day for soldier/poet/king in any combination, if you are so inclined. Thief, rebellion, bodyguard/knight, servant, arranged marriage/alliance, ball/cotillion/coronation, whatever you please!

Day Two: Escape/Return

Maybe Keefe is running away, or maybe you’re exploring a swap where Sophie does instead. Maybe it’s literal, or maybe they’re finding an escape in each other, or something else. Secret hideouts, Unlocked/Stellarlune fix-it, prison break, breakup/second chance, anything you want! Escape can be about running away, cowardice, terror, or acceptance. It’s about leaving, but can also be about coming back.

Day Three: Meet-Cute

First date (blind date?) or coffeeshop au, maybe their friends introduce them in college or school or work, same class first day of school, or even a rewrite of the canon first meeting?

Day Four: Enemies

Rivals in school or work, competing cafes or stores or businesses, opposites attract, born and altered and raised to hate, Neverseen vs Black Swan... you could probably slip some soulmate action in here too.

Day Five: Lies/Truth

Think about foundations. This is a good day to explore childhood, confessions, and secrets— all of which Keefe and Sophie have in multitude. Tearful or sweet or angry, this day can be about broken promises and kept ones. Growth and stagnation: two things that very clearly define our lovely ship.

Day Six: Fix-It

Is there a scene in canon that doesn’t fit? The characters don’t feel right, the scene is slightly off, the situation isn’t realistic? This could apply to any time Sophie and Keefe have a scene together or any time they didn’t: what can you change to explore new possibilities?

Day Seven: Free Day

Whatever you didn’t do before, do now! The possibilities are endless: soulmates, tattoo artist/flowershop, artist/musician, nightmares/dreams, cowboys, mermaids/pirates, mythology au, historical au, crossover fic, injuries, healing, dragons/shapeshifting, switched bodies or abilities, human au, college roommates, and anything else that comes to mind!

FUCK I MISSED RHE WRITER APPLICATIONS are you going to be doing anything similar anytime soon?

That remains to be seen! The school year coming up means that most people in the fandom (who are largely of school or university age) are going to get busy. I think based on that, it's unlikely that we run anything else directly after this. We do hope to run other events like this in the future, just likely not until next summer.

In the meantime, I know that the kotlc fandom usually has a secret santa go on in December, and there are also themed events like Ancients week that go on periodically- some of those might be good for you! (And if you do art as well, you can always sign up for this as an artist!)

some random updates coming through

My KOTLC rewrite is still updating (unfortunately) but it takes a lot of will for me to post something that cringey. (I wrote this crap in 8th grade man)

I'm seriously thinking about writing some tmnt stuff, but I know most of my moots are kotlc, so shrug ig

My original work has me in a chokehold right now. I have three people (ily guys) who have volunteered to be my beta readers, (you know who you are) and if you are one of those people (I'm too shy to tag them) don't worry, I will be sending that out to you guys soon

I will be doing a 100 follower event relatively soon, but not this week cause it's finals week for my college class :P

I'm considering opening requests for writing, but it's complicated because if I'm not feeling something, or if I'm struggling with writers' block, the story doesn't turn out well, so I'm kinda iffy with this one, because if someone requests something, I don't want it to turn out bad ;-;

I'm also considering starting to share my paintings on here when I do them, but I'm not sure if I should start a side blog for art, or change my gaming blog (@lemon-in-a-top-hat) that I never use into an art blog idk

I will be doing a theme change and intro post update soon :P

This is all just random stuff that's happening right now :P Since I've been out on vacation, I felt like I should do a little update of sorts but idk

As much as Juline hated secrets, she had never wanted Kesler to know about her involvement with the Black swan. she wanted him to be far away from it. she didn’t want him to be in danger. but she her involvement was revealed out of her control, and it hurt Kesler in a way that made Juline worry if she had ruined their relationship for good.

The In The Stars series is a look at Sophie and Dex’s kidnapping from their parent's pov, and how they all react to their children’s supposed death in their own ways during the two in a half weeks their children are missing.

Elwin deals with a lot of guilt from not being able to save all the kids who were banished. he doesn’t like to think about it or think about himself at all. he puts all his energy into Keefe because he thinks it will be easier to focus on one kid. but it proves to be a lot harder than he had anticipated

Kam Week Prompts:

1. First Date

This is a good day for beginnings. Perhaps they're asking each other out instead of actually being on the date. A blind date set up by friends, dating apps. Matchmaking, or meet-cute, or childhood rivals finally trying something new. Restaurants, movies, walks on the beach, arcade something unconventional; this can be sweet or end in disaster!

2. College/Roommates

Whether they've known each other for a long time or just met, whether they're grudging friends or full-on enemies, this is a fabulous pining day! Platonic besties/haters, only one bed, staring at each other in classes-- moodboard the hell out of their shared room and see the difference between their aesthetics! Make them clash in uncomfortable ways and then find the parts that make them work!

3. Exes/Breakup

This is a day for jagged edges and cracked picture frames. A big, explosive fight or a quiet day that ends with what they've seen coming for months, years spent apart, pressure from family, something needed or something wrong. right person wrong time, wrong person wrong everything. Make it dramatic, make it broken, make it red, make it the end or the beginning. This is also a day for second chances.

4. Cowboy

This is a day for fun! Plop them into a Wild West movie as actors, or onto a horse and into your father's barn because somehow you know it ain't the ale he's got a hankering for. They're kids playing pretend and then they grow up and it's not pretend anymore. They're taxed physically and mentally, they're water in each other's desert, this is the worst possible person to be stuck with in the dry heat and dust.

5. Soulmates

There are SO many possibilities for this one. Look up prompts and check them out! Sharing pain, feeling when the other lies, sensory deprivation (colorblind, no music, etc) until they meet, numbers count down until they meet, red/blue string, sharing skies or handwriting, tattoos, matching superpowers, drawings will show up on skin, and so much more! Remember, this doesn't have to be strictly romantic-- mix things up!

6. Artist/Musician

Also included in this prompt is "poet". Keefe is a painter, always having ink or paint splattered on his clothes and hands, colors smeared on his cheek and caught under his fingernails. Tam is a musician and a poet, scribbling lyrics that he will sing with his guitar, or flute, or whatever. They're in a band together, or one is a famous singer that the other styles or writes for, Keefe finds Tam's poetry journal, one teaches piano to the other, anything!

7. Free Day

This is a wonderful day to incorporate your culture and see how that breaks the norms! Make them mermaids and pirates, childhood friends or royalty or vampires. Use nonverbal/sensory overload, death and resurrection, gods or superheroes, mythology or old age, enemies or villains, anything you want.
