Rosé and Bruno Mars - Apt. 2024

"Apt." (abbreviation for "Apartment") is a song by New Zealand and South Korean singer Rosé and American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars. It was released on 18 October 2024 as the lead single from Rosé's debut studio album, Rosie (2024). The song was written and composed by various contributors, including Rosé and Mars, and includes elements from the 1982 song "Mickey" by Toni Basil. It is an up-tempo pop, pop rock, pop-punk, and new wave track, featuring indie rock and electropop influences. Inspired by a South Korean drinking game, the song's chorus is built around the game's rhythmic chant of apateu (Korean: 아파트; lit. apartment).

It was a commercial success and spent ten weeks atop the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. US charts, becoming Rosé and Mars' second number-one single and the longest-running number-one song of 2024. In South Korea, it peaked at number one on the Circle Digital Chart for ten weeks. The song topped the charts in over thirty countries, including Australia, Japan, Austria, Germany, Indonesia, New Zealand, the Philippines, and Switzerland. It entered the top five on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. The single topped the iTunes charts and broke records for female K-pop soloists on Spotify and Apple Music. Due to the song's success, Rosé and Mars both received the Global Sensation award at the 2024 MAMA Awards.

So I've been thinking about time. About how they're stuck in different ways. And although I'm incredibly sleep deprived I could not go to sleep before I figured this out.

So here's the thing. We all know this place.

And this clock sets the time for the house and we can always hear it when there's a scene in this room.

Now let's go to the past for a minute.

This is the shot that precedes the JuYeong's confession. The clock marks 9:25.

Now back in the present when they go back to the house together this is what it looks like.

It marks 5:30. Which I assume it's the real time.

Now this is where it gets interesting. Because it doesn't stay that way.

When the camera in on Juyeong the clock is at 9:25

But when the camera goes to Dohoe, it's at 8:10.

Do you know what also is at that time?

[sources 1 & 2] The National College Entrance Exam in Korea, starts at 8:40, but you have to enter half an hour earlier. At 8:10.

So I said something earlier, about Dohoe being stuck. In a way they both are. But Juyeong is stuck in that confession, in his love for Dohoe, when he was happiest. Dohoe is stuck in his worst moment. The time everything changed.

Rose Recaps QL 2024 - Favourite Kisses

Continuing my lists using @abstractelysium prompts. I skipped favourite scenes because they will be on my favourite shows by country recaps (posted Korea already), and favourite lines because my memory sucks. I might go back to that one later if I have the time.

The Truth or Dare kiss - Jack & Joker

We waited for so long and were well rewarded. This was an outstanding kiss. YinWar just have amazing chemistry.

The First and the Second Kiss - Love is Better the Second Time Around

I love a good editing moment. And although the kisses are different, there's a nervousness in both of them. I love how these scenes play out parallel to each other.

The long awaited and the softest of the kisses - She Loves to Cook, She Loves to Eat

I love them. This moment was perfection from beginning to end.
