I think Thane and Steve could help each other heal from their respective losses and they'd be so good for each other.

I dont think about the drell bois as much as I should, but I fully support them getting together :)

And as to my utimate ME rarepair, I'm going to cheat a little cause I cant choose between my 2 favourites, Kaidan x Steve and Jack x Kahlee.

I think Steve and Kaidan would be such a wholesome and nice couple and would compliment each other so nicely. They would nerd out so much over tech and they could both support and help each other a lot, Steve supporting Kaidan with his migraines and Kaidan helping Steve move on from losing Robert.

And Jack and Kahlee, at first I just thought of it as merely smutty ship, but then I began to see it more deeply and I love the idea of them getting close over their time working at Grissom academy, and Kahlee helping Jack slowly and at her own pace, letting her open up only as far as she wants to go and Jack finally feeling she has someone to trust and eventually love makes me 😍

Any modern or antiquated name you’d like, they don’t seem to have evolved or changed much by 2183 except for an increase of ethnic diversity in popular media and government. ( ;D ) Examples: Armando-Owen Bailey, Randall Ezno, Jien Garson

Turian

Their culture is based off of ancient Rome, and many of their names/colonies/inventions are alterations of Latin words. Other mediterranean influences. Examples: Tonn Actus, Illo Nazario, Sidera Nyx Asari

Shorter first name, longer last name. ‘T’ followed by an apostrophe (Like in T’soni) seems to be a common. They favor words with sibilance, alliteration, or a single sound that flares, but the nature of their reproductive structure has lead to a wide slew of parents having input on names. Cultural Greek influences. Examples: Rana Thanoptis, Treeya Nuwani, Aeian T'Goni Salarian

Seem to favor vaguely Croatian works with k, s, and soft vowels in them. A full name includes the name of a Salarian's homeworld, nation, city, district, clan name and given name. Examples: Gorot II Heranon Mal Dinest Got Inoste Ledra -> Gorot Ledra, Solik Vass, Jarun Tann Krogan

Naming tradition is rumored to be getting drunk and making bodily noises, and choosing a name for a hatchling from the gutteral sounds. Tend toward short names with few syllables. Some Spanish influences. Examples: Charr, Gatatog Uvenk, Jorgal Strux Quarian

Tendency toward words that lilt off the tongue, rolling and peaking over the course of multiple syllables. Heavy apostrophe usage. They favor exotic letters like q, z, x, and y. Their current liveship is usually included as a last name. The ‘Nar’ mid-affix means it is their birthship, the ‘Vas’ mid-affix means it is the ship they support as an adult. Seem to be named in some variety of hiss, click, growl, or sneer in the sound. Occasionally named by another species with a non-native word. Examples: Gryll, Kreete, Shisk Drell

British English names with influences from Western European languages such as French or one of the Nordic languages.   Examples: Feron, Kolyat Krios, Quoyle Hanar

They have two names, a "face name" and a "soul name." The face name is for use by strangers and acquaintances. The soul name is kept for use among close friends and relations, and tends to be poetic. A Hanar known for its cynicism may take a name that means "Illuminates the Folly of the Dancers." Heavily favor o and often y. Examples: Delanynder, Opold, Zymandis Elcor

Batarian  

Frequent use of hyphens and apostrophes. Influences from Arabic, Hebrew, and Latin. References to biblical and historical records. Names tend toward multiple syllables, especially in the last name. Examples: Edan Had'dah, Groto Ib-ba, Eluam Ran'perah

Prothean/Collectors

Minimal baseline, but the word Prothean is rooted in Greek, and javik has seen usage as a word in Icelandic. Considering their mouth structure, their names are likely comprised of sounds a Human or Asari could make. Examples: Javik, Prothean

Geth

Their native language being the same as the Quarians, Keelish, most Geth will either have a designation number for their runtime, or an assumed name for the group of runtimes on any given platform. The assumed name may be a given designation from another culture, or a Quarian word. Examples: Legion

Raloi

Assuming the Raloi race has a bird-like jaw to match their general description, a Raloi name would likely have clicks, croons, trills, skwahs, or other sounds in it that would be easily spoken by an avian being. Examples: Turvess, Ari’ka

Reaper

Reapers seem to use imperious titles as nom de guerre, possibly as a part of the psychological warfare they practice, though they do appear to have traditional names as well. Examples: Sovereign (Nazara), Harbinger

Rachni

Considering the Rachni language appears to be thought entangled with smell and color, if a queen or worker of a hive were to have a name, it would likely be sung and not spoken, and have a meaning similar to the odd thought-color-speech. Rachni song is haunting and slow, tending to echo. Examples: N/A

Angaran/Jardaan/Remnant

Tendency toward ‘g’, ‘h’, ‘s’, and ‘j’ letters in words. The language as a whole tends to roll when spoken. Double vowels are common. Influences from Dutch, Afrikaans, and Patois.

Examples: Anjik Do Xeel, Avela Kjar, Evfra de Tershaav

Kett

Seem to reduce names down to titles or jobs, with a tendency to devalue and depersonalize both the individual and their victims. The actual Kett language, Tonaizhet is short and harsh. Influences from Welsh, Italian, and a difficult to pin variety of others.

Examples: lanat, naladen, rozerad (words) / Cardinal, Invictor, Prefect (titles)

Wednesday WIP/ficlet Rated E for extremely fucking spicy! Seriously even the summary is spicy so it's below the cut. Copious body fluids lie within! Kolyat x Feron

Summary: Kolyat has been kept plugged all day as Feron fills his lover over and over... somehow I still made it fluffy. I'm incapable of anything else.

Deft fingers slide beneath the waistband of Kolyat’s leather leggings for the fifth time that day, none the less eager despite the marathon sessions. If anything, Feron seems more excited than ever; always so enamoured with his lover. Love and lust are writ across his beaming face as he kneels between the legs of his amafi.

The eager drell is staring intently at the bulge of Kolyat’s cloacal slit, down to where a hint of the plugs’ edge is bumping through the fabric. As his gaze falls upon it his subvocal song pitches from affection and want to outright need, a gravelly note of proud possession lacing through. Kolyat notices with a shiver that Feron’s erection twitches and thickens as the colourful drell takes in his lover. He is always so greedy for Kolyat, claims nowhere is better in the universe than when they are together. When they’d planned to try plugging he’d been almost feverish describing how intense it would feel to be between the legs of his slick, filled lover, to join with him and feel the evidence of their matings as he fills him once more. The way he purrs for him now, enthusiasm rolling off him despite thier many trysts already, Kolyat finds he is just as hungry. He tries not to squirm as a wave of love fuelled lust causes a shudder to wrack through his body. His subvocals call back to his lover.

“Amafi!” Feron groans, sharp claws briefly digging into the sensitive flesh of pelvic frills. He smirks and looks upwards for a moment.

“Such a sweet, wicked boy you are”.

He leans forwards, tracing his forked tongue over the leather covering of  Kolyat’s cloacal bulge down towards the plug. Leaning forward he presses on it with the sharp point of his nose. The stimulation makes Kolyat’s oversensitised cloaca strain to flutter and he tenses hard around the plug to keep it from shifting. A strained mewl escapes his lips, sweet nerves suddenly pressed with exquisite pressure.

“Do you think anyone else noticed this today, amafi?” Feron looks up once more, impish smile in place.

“Did they see the shape of it through your clothes? Or the way you’d suddenly gasp and whimper so prettily as it moved so slickly inside you?”

Kolyat blushes furiously, his cheeks and frills burning. Feron presses forward again, a firm nudge directly into the plug base. Something inside him sparks deliciously and Kolyat cannot contain it this time, whole body spasming and cloaca fluttering around the plug. It shifts, a gush of hot cum leaking out around its edges and slicking across his scales and trousers. A panicked gasp escapes him. Feron looks up sharply, so acutely in tune to his lover.

“Are you okay, amafi?” his warm eyes gliding up to his own.

“I-” another whimper. Kolyat bites on his lips briefly, sharp fangs pricking into plump flesh.

“I think. I think I may have leaked around the plug, a little. I’m sorry!” 

Notes of regret creep into his song as he lowers his gaze, shamed. 

“Amafi” 

Feron’s face softens. He soothes fingertips across puffy pelvic frills, purring his affection.

“You have done so, so amazingly, my love.” 

A kiss to his inner thigh.

“Taken me four times, held my loads inside you all day. Gods, when I think of how you’ve kept me with you like this I-” he cuts of, subvocals reaching a fever pitch of pride, love and lust.

“You are incredible.” Another kiss. “Let me show you. Don’t look away now, my sweet”.

Feron grips the trousers once more, peeling them down and away. Warm palms gently press Kolyat’s thighs apart as he leans in once more, panting warm breaths up and down Kolyat’s slick, puffy seam. His erection is half emerged, tense muscles keeping it from fully unsheathing.

“So amazing. Just look at you”. 

Thumbs trace through the cum and slick around his seam and Kolyat trembles.

“You can let go now, amafi. I promise, not a single drop will be wasted.” 

Feron’s eyes lock with his as he leans in then, tongue swiping firmly around the plug, swirling through the wet mess with enthusiastic groans. He slurps up every drop he finds, sucking obscenely at the plugs edge without swallowing. Kolyat moans and writhes, erection springing forth hard and eager to slap wetly against his abdomen but it’s almost an afterthought, all focus on the sensations of his cloacal sheath and Feron’s incredible tongue.

When he’s finally satisfied with his clean up job Feron shifts, crawling up Kolyat’s body, eyes locked as hands come up to frame his face. They meet together in a hungry press of lips, Kolyat opening his mouth beneath his lovers as they share the cum and slick. Tongues twist and writhe together as the kiss gets sloppy, mishapen around pants and smiles.

One of Feron’s hands snakes back down between Kolyat’s legs, gently gripping at the plug. He leans back a few centimeteres, just far enough to speak but unable to bare being parted far.

“Relax, my love.”

Kolyat hums and lets his body go lax. Feron beams at him with an approving purr, pulling the plug out in a smooth sweep. As the thick flare of it pops past his rim, a filthy sound resonates and a gushing wave of cum following. Before it can escape onto the sheets below Feron is there, thick erection pressing wetly into his seam and filling him wide, promise not to waste any drop fulfilled. 

He slides in easily, Kolyat so wet and open his body welcomes Feron’s thick erection like he was made for him. When the final base ridge fills him they groan together, eyes locking and hands gripping tightly either side of Kolyat’s head as they start to gently rock together. Acutely aware how sensitized Kolyat will be by now, Feron is attentive; thrusting firm and deep but in a smooth glides, their love making slow yet no less passionate as they are lost in each other.

What are your Thane/Steve headcanons? Would Thane call Steve Siha, or would he use a variant or different name? Does Steve have a favored thing he calls Thane? Where do they retire after the reapers? Bonus question for fun: What's Shepard up to (or not up to) in their canon?

General headcanons: Thane lives, having got kepral's treament from Mordin and Miranda at the end of ME2, he decided to do it to have more time repairing his relationship with Kolyat, and with the loving support of his new Normandy family. He and Steve meet pretty much the way the Shepard/Cortez romance plays out in 3. There's an instant spark, but they tread carefully and measured, as they are both such careful measured men themselves, and Steve is still reconciling his mourning. Thane is a great comfort through that and they grow close, eventually becoming romantic. Their romance is sizzling, they have excellent chemistry and are just so deeply into each other it's unreal. Steve fully becomes part of the Krios family over time, marrying Thane, being stepdad to Kolyat, dad in law to Feron and grandad to Mina. Would Thane call Steve Siha? I have considered this one a lot myself and this has prompted me to finally finish up my ideas. First off:  Steve is a protector of sorts, so Thane could absolutely call him Siha and it would work beautifully! With their range of gods and angels there could be a name more suited to Steve specifically however, which is what I have worked on.  (and I think even as platonic friends, Thane would still see Shepard as a siha. But maybe he’s hit the triple siha jackpot). My idea i’ve worked on is: Melithas When a drell of the old gods see’s a shooting star, they offer a prayer to these angels of the fates. For surely these scouts are doing work of great importance, weathering the roiling seas of creation and destruction to weave together the tapestry of life as the God’s will it. In the greater drell common tongue lexicon, melithas has endured as simply a way to describe shooting stars, meteors and comets visible from a planets surface. There’s something about Thane calling him his shooting star that is making me very soft. But if this ask is secret santa and you are writing and don’t want to have to aside for a long winded explanation of his nickname, siha is absolutely fine, as is any made up name of your own! You are also welcome to take melithas and roll with it in whatever way your brain goes. Regular pet names like sweetheart also work. Does Steve have a favoured thing he calls Thane I think Steve is very generous with his affectionate naming conventions, but is of course a consummate professional in his work, so it will be situational. My sweet, love, my love, darling, sweetheart etc. And during more vulnerable, intimate moments he gets more syrupy sweet, especially when being praising/encouraging. Thane is a strong guy but when he gets to be a melted puddle of goo with Steve he absolutely loves being coddled and that’s when the more syrupy names from Steve like baby and sugar come out to play. Bonus points if you can get a kitten in there without it sounding like a shitpost lmao

Where do they retire after the reapers?Ooh that’s a tougher one. Steve I feel can be happy just about anywhere with his skills as pilot and requisitions being useful on all sorts of ports, planets and stations alike. He’d also make an excellent piloting teacher. Thane is the tougher one.  I like to think that Thane has grown and wisened enough to realise he can be more than his training, or can at least adjust his training, and isn’t stuck as “assassin or fail and die” mode still. I have all those kolyat x Feron headcanons with them getting married and having a kid (Mina), working as information gatherers for Liara the shadow broker but moving from mostly field based work to mostly work from home research roles once kiddo arrives. So maybe they settle on a station somewhere when they have a kid, somewhere with good ports to do small journeys regularly, and Thane and Steve decide to semi retire on the same station to be with their family and also do similar work. Thane would have some basic grasp of how to research marks, Kolyat trains him in greater general research techniques (and just imagine the hilarity of Kolyat teaching Thane, I'm sure some sparks flew at times) and Thane splits his time between home office based extranet sleuthing with kolyat, and occasional field work with Feron (planting monitoring devices, making information trades, that sort of thing). Steve ferries them around, and otherwise teaches piloting lessons from the port. Maybe Shepard makes sure Steve gets a really nice small ship/luxury shuttle as a retirement from the alliance/post war thank you gift. Sorry that was a bit meandering let me sum up a bit more clearly : they semi retire on a nice big comfy station, could be the citadel, could be a made up one. They have a great apartment filled with comfy nick nacks, and as they are in a hub location Normandy friends drop by all the time. Steve still gets to fly, doing lessons and occasionally taking Feron and Thane to jobs. Thane gets to spend time with his kids and grandkid, and still use his skills on a part time basis doing a little light espionage for Liara. They work in little bursts as needed, and spend the rest of the time enjoying each other, the multi cultural fun of the station, and babysitting their granddaughter. 

What's Shepard up to (or not up to) in their canon? I have no specific headcanons for a Shepard in the Kriotez universe. I have a vague idea of it being a Shepard that is in a relationship with Liara, romantic or just a very deep loving platonic friendship,  and post war (Shep survives) they work together running the shadow broker business (as a force for good, mostly using it to keep a check on all those pesky backstabbing governments and corpos making sure they aren’t using post war turmoil to do shady shit, and also making sure that extranet and logistics is able to reach outer systems). Shepard absolutely adores Thane and Steve and was stupidly giddily excited when they got together and lost their shit when asked to officiate their marriage, Shep ships them! No specific gender/looks/names for this Shep.

I watch Taskmaster with @shadowthehedgehog1 as they come out and am giving Attack on Titan a go with my spouse. It's a bit overly angsty/dramatic for my taste in places but I reckon i'll stick with it. Oh and I finished Scavengers Reign a few days ago too, top notch sci fi! Movie wise the last one I watched was Dungeons and Dragons Honour among thieves and I loved it.

Spicy/sweet/savory?: Savoury, but I'm a big foodie and love sweet and spicy too. Franks Red hot my beloved.

Currently reading: Focusing on reading physical books drains my spoons unfortunately. I am snail crawling my way through 'who hunts the whale' by Laura Kate Dale and Jane Earith Magnet. It's great! It'll just take me forever.

Last thing I googled: Is there a way to do oil paint glazing glaze technique in procreate digital painting (short answer: no! Or at least no one has written a tutorial about that specifically so I'll have to just keep doing my own chaotic thing. Anyway I ended up down an oil painting rabbithole and am now drawing fruit with a new brush pack instead of the piece I was actually trying to draw lmao)

🎭What is the longest time you've spent on a single project? hmm, in terms of literal hours with the canvas open, I believe my Kolyat x Feron one from christmas '23 (nude, so here's the twitter link) took about 70-80 hours. In real time, I worked on that one from September until christmas. 🐔Which part of the creating process do you dislike the most? The self doubt, especially that nasty 'what would people on the internet say' inner critic. For example when I started, I felt this enormous pressure not to do screenshot drawovers, because people online call that 'cheating'. And then i'd struggle to sketch for days and days on a piece that was really supposed to be about doing a colouring study anyway. I've gotten a lot better at giving myself grace but it's always a constant need to remind myself to be kind. Sometimes I want the challenge and will spend a long time freehanding and learning methods at every step of the way. Other times I'm just here to do a pretty drawover, and that's okay. You don't always have to be learning and pushing yourself, especially if you are doing this as a hobby. 🛸 How many pieces are you typically working on simultanesouly at any time? I don't like having lots of WIPs, and I don't like leaving things unfinished. So I generally have just one or two pieces going at any time, and i'd say about 90% of my projects I will complete. I know that's not the norm for most! And I don't say that as a brag either- being able to let go when things don't work out is important. Also if you are learning in a professional capacity i'd imagine it's good to have lots and lots of sketches and warm ups. I think this is just an area of my neurodivergence coming in to play.
