all eyes on doctors.
i know i do not have a huge platform on here, and i'm also aware of the fact that this may not be relevant to anything that i post on my blog. but i do want to create awareness about this horrifying incident, be it this way.
on 9th august, a second year trainee, doctor moumita debnath was found dead in the seminar hall of r.g kar. hospital in kolkata, west bengal india. she had gone there after a 36 hour shift to rest. her parents had been called, and they were told that their daughter had committed suicide. they rushed to the hospital, but were denied contact with their daughter. that is until her father went into the crime spot.
he found her semi-naked, her pelvic girdles broken, legs at a ninety degree angel. her collar bone was broken, pieces of flesh was torn off from her body. her spectacles had been smashed, the broken glass dug into her eyes.
this incident was claimed to be a suicide by sandip ghosh. he blamed the victim for going to the seminar hall. mamata banerjee, chief minister of west bengal has supported this theory.
but the autopsy report clearly suggests gangrape. 150 mg of semen has been found. there were bobby pins stuck in her vagina. the cctv footage of the crime scene has been destroyed. the room just near the crime spot has gone under renovation.
reason for the crime involve a lot of dirty politics. sandip ghosh is an mla whose son "allegedly" was leading a a drug and sex racket. the victim found out about this, and thus threatened to expose them. which lead to them harassing and threatening her continuously for two months. on the unfortunate fateful night, they found her alone, and threatened her before turning into demons of hell.
mamata banerjee or the police has not done anything. all because they want to protect the mla and his son.
the protests which found way at 11pm, 14th of august which continued till late night was charged at by police and mobs near shyambazar and r.g kar hospital. drunken goons destroyed evidence at r.g kar.
ram mandir banate raho. sitaaen jalti rahegi.

Just saw a reel where they were talking about disgusting commentors on little girl's posts now putting stories for rape justice, the comments on the reel were repeatedly saying
"ab ham randiyo ki bhi respect karein?"
"respect only those who deserve it"
"to comment krne wali rapists thodi hote hain, rape to nahin kiya?"
"4 followers ke liye gand dikhane wali bhi abhi story daal Rahi hai 🤡"
"ab kyun service available wali story laga Rahi?"
"this is a feminist comment section, they will all support half naked women"
"toh nangi photos daalna band kr do, you people give out such content, porn addicts hi to rapists banenge?"
And like, guys......
Let me turn this for you, ab tu jaata hai gym, tu karta hai post apni body ki reels, abs ki pictures, biceps ki pictures, kyu karta hai post? "Hard work"? "Pride"? "Documenting my journey to self acceptance"?
Ab ladkiya bhi to attract hoti hai na inn cheezo se? Ab wo karegi 16 saal ke gym wale ladke ki reel pe comment "randwa", "bachha aisa hai to baap kaisa hoga", "kya maal hai", "1 big bulging reason to watch this reel".
Ab nahi kar raha tu validation ke liye post? Kyu Karu Mai teri respect? Koi hard work nahi kra tune, sab attention seeking hai, follower count badhani hai. Do you see what this is?
Bhai tujhe NAHI pasand ladki ko dekhna to BLOCK kar de, she deserves respect, first and foremost because she's a HUMAN BEING. And you WILL respect her, there is no negotiation with basic shit like not calling a random person names just for posting things. It's not harming YOU, if you feel lustful by watching women dance for fun, then GOUGE your eyes out, apna khud ka lund kaat le. Tujhe chinta hai tere "fellow men" ke porn addicts banne ki, to unka bhi kaat de, that woman is not taking her reel and cutting off your eyelids to shove it inside your eyes. Unlike rapists, who do a LOT more.
What are you? A baby? That you will be influenced by just looking at things? Wo upar se neeche Tak burqa pehne ya kuch bhi na pehne tujhe KYA? Insaan hai na wo? It's basic human decency to not call anyone names when they're not harming you. How hard is it to understand that? Do ONE thing right in your life and don't be an embarrassment to the whole human race, maa baap ko to disappoint kar hi chuka hai.

This is a cry for help. (from all of India, all women and all victims)
This is not like anything I have ever written before but this is something I just had to talk about. If you have an audience, no matter how big or small, please reblog or talk about this issue. I want this to be talked about internationally as well because I know my country, no matter how hard people try, the government will only be able to sweep this under the rug and there won't be a safer work environment. It is a cry of justice from all of India because of the rape and brutal murder of a medical student.
tw: the next part includes talk about SA and violent descriptions of the crime (i have marked where the descriptions end but please please please spread this news.)
why i need you to reach out- The last case that sparked this big of an online and community outrage was the Nirbhaya case in 2012. Out of the 6 guilty, 4 were hanged, 1 died in jail and 1 who was underage... spent time in juvenile and was let go with all traces of his identity unknown. His name was changed, his face never disclosed, for all I know, he could be roaming around anywhere in India or even outside. That story died down after a few months and now no one in our media talks about it, but an average of 90 rapes a day were reported to CBI (Central Beuro of Investigation) in 2022. I won't go into detail about it but that is a similar horror true story but I will link the resources if you want to read about it. Again, tw: it contains details about SA and violence. The link is there at the end of this post.
what happened- It was around 2 am. After a long, hard 36 hour shift, a 31 year old doctor went to a seminar room to lay down and take a short break after telling her mother that she was fine. In those hours of the night when almost the entire country was sleeping, that girl was brutally beat up, raped and murdered. I will be talking about what happened to her in the next paragraph because what happened to her was truly inhuman and the bastards who did this should be hanged publically so everyone can see the punishment for something as cruel and i lack the words to describe how disgusting this is. The hospital informed the parents that it was a suicide. The parents were made to wait 3 hours before finally being able to see the body of their daughter. And the worst part is, just to make the protests die down, within 24 hours the police announced that they had arrested a man who admitted to being guilty when it was evident that this was not a one-man job. the airpods found on the scene were found in the bluetooth settings of that mans phone and that is it. That is all the "investigation" has told us. I will be updating with any updates on this case but so far, only candle marches and protests have happened and that too by the students.
tw: talks in detail about the injuries.
details of the crime- the girl's legs were at 90 degree angles, her pelvic girdle fractured. her eyes were bleeding due to the glass from her glasses being smashed inside her eye. She was bleeding from every part of her body that was littered with scars, her vagina and her mouth. Her head sustaining head injuries as if it was bashed against a wall. The police suspect she was murdered before she was raped.
Here is why I said it was evident that it was not a one-man job. The amount of semen found inside her vagina was 150 grams. One ejaculation releases 15 grams keep that in mind.
the injury description ends here
how they have tried to cover it up- The hospital began renovating a room very close to the crime scene and gangs were made to trash the crime scene as well to compromise the evidence. The principal of the collage where this happened resigned but got a job just within 12 hours at another prestigious university. THE SAME PRINCIPAL WHO BLAMED THIS HORRIFIC INCIDENT ON THE VICTIM.
resources to help victims of violence and rape- Please reblog, please talk about this story so that it becomes an incident not repeated ever again. So that our mothers, our sisters, our daughters don't have to go through this ever again.
This is a cry for help.
As a medical aspirant myself, I'm scared for my future and the future of all other passionate girls who are trying their level best to work for their career.
the nirbhaya case- What is Nirbhaya case? | What is Nirbhaya case full story? | India News - Times of India (indiatimes.com) details about this case- What happened in the Kolkata rape case that triggered doctors’ protests? | Sexual Assault News | Al Jazeera rainn website and helpline- (for rape, abuse and incest)- RAINN | The nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization helpline- 800.656.HOPE (4673) other helpline numbers- Sexual abuse helplines in India (findahelpline.com)

When will this change?
We woke up, instead, to a world where one step forward is ten steps back. Where it's freedom birthed a broken system. Where feminists are called crazy and men-haters.
A world whose slogan is "not all men" and "men will be men". Where women ask permission to exercise their fucking constitutional rights.
To a world with men who had a phd in chromosomes when they claimed a woman was a man but still beat their wives for birthing a girl.
Which says sex with his wife is a "man's right". That "a woman owes sex to her husband". A world where child marriage and dowry deaths are normal and a woman getting her fucking period is not.
We woke up to a country disappointing those who fought for its freedom.
That retold stories to excuse prejudice. And rewrote history to excuse its ignorance.
Where a woman is caged but her predator isn't.
That retold stories to excuse prejudice. That rewrote history to justify its ignorance.
Where women are taught how to avoid getting raped while men are taught it's a natural urge.
A world that's used to asking "What were you wearing" "Why didn't you fight back" and never saying "Don't Rape".
Of sporadic outrage over a rape case and forgetting it the next day.
A world where women still beg for their right to be left alone.
A world where women can't even sleep with a mind without fear, let alone wake up with one.
Which says feminism is unnecessary and while also saying "Let boys be boys"
Where you live knowing this is all a joke, it's just not funny.

The time I usually leave college was the time I reached home today. A lot of times I tell my mom that I am still pretty far and then surprise her by showing up early. I did the same today. But for the first time,I was scared. What if something happened to me right before I reached home? My mother would be at home thinking her daughter would be back, but I would be somewhere in a state far worse than death.
This is how much this case has affected us women. Men,or anyone,as a matter of fact, has no right to tell us that it isn't a big deal, that we shouldn't talk about it or that it isn't a "gender thing".

are we really safe? did we really have achieved independence? it was supposed to be a day well spent and be proud of being an Indian but why should we? why was an innocent doctor who saves other people's lives was killed so brutally? why can't we all just live with peace as humans? did the “monsters” ever thought about any of these? if a doctor at her workspace wasn't free then who are we? if even one of us isn't free then we also aren't as a whole. Lady Justice is blind for justice to be served well. Praying that she won't be blind in the literal sense.

I don't understand what is the point of our country to celebrate independence day when one half of the country is truly not free.
When a woman who worked hard to become a doctor, but meets her demise in a most inhuman way. when a nurse goes back to her home late at night after shifts she meets the same fate. Why are we celebrating this independence day when we women are not free. When the rules of the world states women should be composed so she doesn't cause unnecessary attention, isn't this is a way to say be nice or get raped. Why do I have to check if what I am wearing isn't good but it if it isn't too 'welcoming', why should I watch my time before going somewhere?
Happy independence day to men because we women are still caged up.

When I was 5 years old, the nation was shocked by the brutal gang rape of nirbhaya.
12 years later, soon going to be 17, and here I am witnessing the horrendous case of doctor who was raped in her own workplace, her own person safe haven. This case has made all of us girls, wonder, where are we even safe? The doctor who saves millions of people's life, was brutally raped by monsters, her eyes were bleeding, her screams were suppressed by those animals. Yet again today, we all stand the same as we were 12 years ago. They say girls should not go at night, girls should not wear short clothes, girls should not go to bars and parties. BUT WHAT ABOUT A GIRL WHO WAS IN WHITE COAT AND RAPED AT HER OWN WORKPLACE???? Stop fucking blaming victim, its not their fault, its the fault of those assholes who treat women nothing but like some thing, which can be used and discarded.
Today, i, as a girl demand justice for the doctor lady, I want her rapist(s) to be hanged and stricter punishments should be given to the rapists.
Don't teach girls how to be safe. Teach boys how to treat a girl with respect.

INDEPENDENCE DAY
We all have celebrated Independence day in our schools proud for being son and daughter of the land which gave birth to so many great personalities ,some we know and some we dont . But today the question arise in the brains of every girl that is she truely free?
Today at night the women of Kolkata and various other part of Bengal came together to reclaim the night. They gave us an example of such power of unity and demanded their independence on the very eve of 78th independence day but at the same day goons attacked the hospital in which a daughter of this very land was brutually r@ped ,physically assaulted and what not. At that moment the hospital was attacked in it were the doctors PEACEFULLY protesting . They had to hide , run for their lives at the very day of independence in which women came forward to claim the night . EVIDENCES WERE DESTROYED SO WAS THE FAITH IN HUMAINTY AND SYSTEM IN THE HEART OF GIRLS OF KOLKATA not that there was much mind you. Irony right
And do you know what hurts the most is that this city is named after Godess Kali and is known for celebrating Durga puja . I have written many essay in school praising India in this day but today this daughter of kolkata and of India is asking you all IS SHE TRUELY FREE??

The incident in question took place on the nights of July 14 and 15 this year, when the accused allegedly entered the victim's home at 11:30 pm and raped her at gunpoint. The victim reported the assault to the Lake police station the following afternoon, but she was made to wait for hours before her complaint was accepted. Serious allegations have been made against the police, including filing the First Information Report (FIR) under less severe charges, despite the grave nature of the crime.
Justice Bharadwaj observed that the FIR initially used weaker sections of the law, undermining the seriousness of the sexual assault allegation. Additionally, the charge sheet was reportedly tampered with, and the police failed to conduct a medical examination of the victim immediately after the incident.
The accused was arrested but granted bail immediately upon being produced in the lower court. The same court later granted him anticipatory bail in connection with another case. However, the Calcutta High Court stepped in on Friday, rejecting both the bail and anticipatory bail granted earlier. The case has now been transferred to a female police officer of Deputy Commissioner rank from Lalbazar, who will lead the investigation moving forward.
The victim has claimed that she was pressured to withdraw her complaint by the accused’s wife and son, who were allegedly brought to the police station after the FIR was filed. She also accused the police of delaying their investigation, as it took them over 24 hours to visit her house to seize evidence such as clothing and other items related to the crime.
Adding to the list of concerns, the victim said the police refused to take CCTV footage showing the accused entering and leaving her home. She also had to go to the hospital herself for a medical examination, as the investigating officer did not arrange one. Shockingly, she was later informed that her official medical examination would take place on August 20—35 days after the assault.

Where Is Our Nation Heading?
In the aftermath of yet another heinous crime, one is compelled to ask: where is our nation truly headed? What will be the solace for the parents who lost their child? What justice can they find in a system that seems to perpetually delay, if not outright deny, it? Those students who pour their hearts and souls into exams like NEET, hoping for a fair chance—were they served justice? What became of that case? Is it now a closed chapter, forgotten and dismissed? Has the judiciary done enough, or anything at all, to restore faith in the system?
We witness a recurring cycle: students gathering courage, giving their best in exams, only to be scammed and left with wasted years. This isn’t just about one incident—it's a reflection of a deeper, systemic failure. And for those who somehow make it through, what awaits them? This? A future where even their basic safety is not assured?
Why does our judiciary remain silent, dragging its feet while victims and their families suffer in agony? What became of the promises made after the candlelight marches of 2012? Justice served after seven long years and three months—what does that signify when we find ourselves back at square one? What is the value of justice delayed to the point of irrelevance?
Why do we, as a nation, wait so long? Do we need to witness something even more horrific before we demand change? Where is the government, so quick to agitate over issues of religion, politics, and caste, yet so conspicuously silent on matters of humanity? Where is the public outcry now, the same public that jammed entire cities in celebration when our team won the World Cup or when our athletes brought home medals?
Why is the nation silent now? Does our sense of nationality only emerge in moments of triumph? Where are those who are quick to criticize the government over every bill, yet remain silent on issues of profound human consequence? Is it because this is “just another rape case”? Because she wasn’t our sister, our daughter, or someone we knew personally?
Are we waiting for this horror to strike closer to home before we take a stand? Have we really descended to such a level of apathy? No government, no citizen, no political leader seems willing to speak out because it’s easier to fight over religion, to engage in political drama, than to confront the harsh reality of our social decay.
Is this how our nation will progress? By kicking aside those who suffer the most? The time for silence is over. The time for action is now. We cannot continue to be a nation that waits for tragedy after tragedy before awakening from its slumber. We must demand justice—not just for one, but for all. Only then can we hope to truly move forward.

Her leg was 90 degree apart and her pelvis bone was broken . Her eyes were bleeding due to the fact that her face was punched while she was wearing glasses. 150ml of semen was found in her body. And do uk what was told to her parents that she committed suicide. WTF EVERY PART OF HER BODY WAS BURISED AND POLICE SAID THAT SHE COMMITTED SUICIDE. A child could have said that it was not suicide . Her parents had to stand for 3 hrs waiting to she the body of the daughter who they were told that she committed suicide on that very building in which she was r@ped. If this doesnot burns your heart i dont know what will .
And at the very day of independence goons attacked the very hospital while protest was going on AND DESTROYED THE EVIDENCE all cause the case was handed over to CBI . AND POLICE COULDNOT DO ANYTHIG ofc not that we expected much.
She has not just been raped and murdered, she was very much tortured and brutalized like Nirbhaya. It is all over the Bengali news. I don't understand why no one is talking about this.
A 2nd year Respiratory Medicine in a well known government medical college in Kolkata, West Bengal, India is found in a semi-naked state and the college/ hospital called it a suicide.
I'm a MBBS student in second year. After reading about her, what crossed my mind is the amount of times she would have felt this fear, before this worst fear of hers eventually materialized.
"A young resident doctor was found dead in the seminar room of her medical college in Kolkata. Initial autopsy report suggests possible rape and murder."
As all are saying,
She wasn't walking the street at odd hours. She wasn't wearing clothes that were provocative. She wasn't loitering in dangerous neighbourhoods.
She was a resident doctor, looking for a place to rest in her own hospital.
She had been on duty and had gone to rest in the early hours of Friday.
The one place which was supposed to guarantee her safety failed her, miserably.
Someone comes, rapes a female pg who is merely resting in a seminar hall because there is no proper place for her to rest, brutalized her and kills her. How did NO one know? The college and police initially call it a suicide. Excuse me? It is also being said that under pressure from local politicians, the Principal and Dean attempted to alter the post-mortem report. Autopsy confirms sexual assault.
What are the actions taken? One man arrested because his behavior seemed "shady". This is clearly not an act of one man. And this was a very well aware of and a well executed criminal act.
Also, all this happening in WB right when the situation of bangladesh is in turmoil and news of Bangladeshi Hindus being killed and tortured, seems wrong, VERY WRONG. Happening right before NEET-PG, as 24 lakh doctors prepare to write an exam on Sunday to be resident doctors, this news has wrapped us all in agony and rage,
What are they working so hard for? Why should they aspire to be in a system that ignores their basic needs? The minimum requirement of a workplace is safety. That should be non-negotiable.
This profession demands extereme hardwork, a lot of mental strength and Physical Assaults, harassment, low paying jobs with odd working hours with intense humiliation. Now its the worst of all seeing a bright mind losing her life in the most disrespectful state of all. This should never happen to any woman.
I'd also like to question why isn't any big media house covering this news, where are all the international news channels all this time.
What are the students in other medical colleges doing? This talks about their own safety and lives. What are the medical students across the world doing? It's time for us to stand for the most basic Human right, safety.
Yesterday when my roommate, an MBBS final year intern was heading for her night posting, I feared and prayed for her to come back safely. Thinking about it, in a few years I will also have night posting, I'll also return from my hospital duties late at night. I'll also have to go through the same fear, and I'll also have to keep praying that my worst fears don't turn into reality. So many female doctors, nursing staffs, other Healthcare workers, other working women, non-working women go through the same fear, probably multiple times a day.
It is a shame to be born in such a disgusting world and society, it is shame to witness such a brutal crime, and it is a shame to live in this fear daily.
Those RAPISTS need to be hunged infront of the whole natio...if needed burned alive. People should fear the idea of raping, more than getting raped.
