Knightfall in Dream Land - Page 2
Kirby dresses up as Meta Knight and learns that Meta’s old cape was a gift from Dedede.
#Kirby#Kirby fanart#my art#comic#Metadede#not exactly sure when in the game timeline my comic is set but probably around the time of Return to Dream Land#also the ship isn’t the main focus of the comic it touches more on Meta’s origin and their first meeting but I do ship them lol#and they are a couple in this comic but the comic mostly just covers how Meta Knight arrived on Popstar and how he and Dedede first met#but at this point in my interpretation of the timeline they’re married lol#I’ve seen a lot of people headcanon them as getting married during Kirby Fighters 2 but in my interpretation they get married earlier#in my timeline they started dating around the time of Squeak Squad and they got married around the time of Epic Yarn#and Kirby Fighters 2 is just the two of them celebrating their wedding anniversary lol#not sure when I’ll have the next page of this done but the next one will start getting into Meta’s backstory#Meta Knight#Bandana Dee#Sailor Dee#King Dedede#Knightfall in Dream Land

Knightfall headcanon: Jaune plays all kinds of board games while Cinder mostly just plays "kill the king" variety (chess, shogi) because she was taught to play them by Salem. She gradually learns to play other games, now motivated to win for fun instead of to learn new strategy. Both are massive tryhards when it comes to playing board games.

Stage-mom!Alfred who is vicariously living through Bruce’s vigilanteism.
#characterization concepts#not really a headcanon—more just playing with possibilities.#i stand by that Alfred should get way more shit in-canon.#just thinking of that Knightfall page where Alfred shames Tim into…not saying that Bruce should be taken to a hospital…#because it would take Batman from Bruce and Bruce LOVES being Batman.#meanwhile before and AFTER Bruce gets his back broken and thrown out the window Bruce’s internal narration is like—#‘MY ENTIRE LIFE IS NOTHING BUT PAIN! EVERYTHING IS AWFUL!!! JASON IS DEAD!!! AGHHHHHH!!!’#i would like to explore the Batman concept as a folie a deux between Bruce and Alfred.#(Neil Gaiman played a lil bit with the concept in his Batman Is Dead issue…but we could go further…)

ANYWAY this was my headcanon but after Arkham Shadow, I am most certain now that Bruce survived the Knightfall Protocol at the end of Arkham Knight and he’s now living a peaceful life with his childhood friend/soulmate/husband Harvey Dent in some private island somewhere 🤲❤️

New headcanon: Bruce uses a cane from time to time after Knightfall.
There's no way he doesn't suffer from chronic pains after that defeat, but also no way he is able-bodied. Even more because he didn't rest completely and TRAINED while healing. And they didn’t know if he would be able to walk again at first. Yeah, Bruce should be using a cane sometimes. And when he is being Batman, he is pushing through it like crazy, because he is insane like that.
Also, they already destroyed the Porsche, so Bruce can say he had a car's accident to explain the disability.
#bruce wayne#batman#dc comics#my ramblings#also I love seeing him using a cane??? I cannot explain it#It just fits I see him using a cane and I'm like “That fits so well”???#the Porsche's murder killed me like they are thinking about everything all of this to lie to 1 person#if you have never read Knightfall GO READ IT because damn do they broke Bruce mentally and physically

What’s everyone’s little headcanon of Batman stories ranging from his beginning to his end?
Kinda like that Spider-Man life story comic.
I think mine goes kinda like
Batman year one (Batman first appears. Fights corruption and mafia in Gotham)
Batman the man who laughs (introduce joker. He tries to poison the Gotham reservoir. Classic stuff)
Batman the long Halloween (the story of the fall of gothams mafia and the rise of freaks and supervillains (i think Nolan forgot that last part when he made the dark knight rises)(cause like, you can argue the end of the dark knight could lead into that era, if the dark knight rises didnt show that to not be the case)
Dark victory (Bruce adopts Robin.)
The story where dick Grayson leaves and Bruce adopts Jason Todd. (I don’t have a specific comic for this part. Also Idk maybe work in ra’s al ghul here somehow? Him and Talia need to be established at some point.)
Death in the family.
The story where Tim drake forces himself into Batman’s life
Knightfall
Under the red hood
Son of Batman (Damien)
I think, even more than wanting to see the bat family, I want to see the Batfamily grow over time instead of just jumping in with it already established.

Headcanons for Bane and his crew
Because I am obsessed with him, and, in my mind, they're his disaster of a found family, and DC doesn't appreciate them enough.
• First, it's canon that Zombie was Bane's caretaker before his mother died, so I think Zombie was in Peña Duro longer than everyone. He's ancient, like, older than the authoritarian government that is now in control of Santa Prisca, older than the Director.
• I like his redesign in Bane: Conquest. I think the reason he was kept in the infirmary of the prison was because of his powers. Maybe the Director of Peña Duro wanted Zombie's power of healing/stealing life for himself and locked him there.
• Bane's mother gave him a name in secret, and Zombie knows it.
• Trogg and Zombie are old friends and were sent to the prison at the same time. Trogg was a young man and Zombie was in his forties or something. That's why, when Bane was taken from the infirmary and forced to live with the other prisoners, Trogg took care of him.
• Trogg became his protector and taught him stuff, and taught Bane everything he could, like reading, and doing math. It's canon he also learned with a priest during his childhood.
• Bird is from Gotham City, New Jersey and was sent to Peña Duro for a small crime, he probably got involved with the wrong people when he was younger.
• He is the youngest of the group, and around the same age as Bane, who is only a few months younger than Bruce.
• Sometimes he is called 'Birdy' by other people because they hear Bane and Trogg say his alias with their accent, and it sounds like 'Birdy'. He gave up correcting people when it happens.
• Everyone in this crew is Afro-Caribbean, except from Bird, of course. When the other three start to speak Spanish in hushed/hurried voices, he gets so lost.
• Something that totally didn't happen, but I based it from a scene of The Dark Knight Rises (eeew): Zombie cant speak because when Bane was taken to the dark cell, he tried to stop the guards and was attacked by the other inmates, like Bane in the movie. When Bane was grown up and left the cell, he met with Zombie again and Zombie had his mouth sew shut :/.
• And after that, he started to act more like a dead person. He doesn't blink, breath or eat, and most of the time he just stands there, doing nothing. Creeps everyone out, but the Crew is used to this.
• Of course after leaving Santa Prisca and the Knightfall arc, Bane has a large group of henchmen, but these three are the ones he trusts the most, everyone knows that.
• Talon, Bird's pet, was found by him after they escaped Santa Prisca. Bane forbid Bird from keeping it, Bird insisted and became attached to the hawk.
• Sometimes Bane feeds it, but since he's not used to animals, he's slightly scared of it. He won't say it, never.
• Talon doesn't like Trogg. No one knows why, he simply doesn't and will try to beak Trogg if he gets too close to Bird. So when they fight, what happens constantly, Bird will put Talon on his shoulder and end the discussion. Trogg hates that hawk.
• Sometimes he'll go "Jefe, the maldito pájaro is trying to eat my eyes!!", and Bane won't look up as he says "Birdy, control your animal". Bird will just smirk and do nothing to stop Talon from trying to kill Trogg.
• When Trogg and Bird start to fight, Zombie threatens to hit them with his cane.
• Everyone knows how to throw knifes thanks to Zombie, who is a specialist in this.
• Bane is a very good swimmer, since he spent 17 years in the pit.
• Since Bane learned about the world through book and other people, there are a lot of things he doesn't understand or thinks are not real. When he finds something new, he asks one of the three to explain to him.
• Obvious after they escape, Trogg and Zombie take him to eat the best Hispanic food they can find. (Unfortunately Zombie could only watch and sigh, but he was happy Bane could enjoy real food he used to love).
• If Osito gets destroyed or loses an arm or let, Trogg fixes it immediately. Bane never asks, he will just find the bear already patched up and placed somewhere safe.
• Trogg also cuts his hair when it gets long, because Bane hates having people behind him with sharp objects. He refused to cut Bird's hair (you know how his haircut was in the early comics).
• Bane is not exactly claustrophobic,, but he also is; he kinda of misses the security of his cell, of being in a closed space where he knows no one can see or touch him. Sometimes he hates it, sometimes he thinks about going back. He misses the dark sometimes, but thinks he's weak for that. He hates being in spaces where he can't control his own exit.
• He hates soup. That's canon. He hates food he can't chew.
• For heaven’s sake, I don't think Bane is misogynistic. He is a jerk most time, but he's also a gentleman. He was taught by his mother and Zombe to respect women and be polite all the time. He'll only attack a woman if she's about to fight him.
• He speaks too many languages, sometimes he gets confused and mixes words and forgets others. And the others mainly only speak Spanish and English, so if he needs to remember how to say a word in English but only remembers it in Russian, they have no idea how to help him.
• I don't remember what's Talon's fate in the comics. But I think he dies in a dangerous Job, that's when Bird gets a drone and names it Talon II.
• He was so sad when his hawk died. Bane tried to comfort him with awkward (and painful) pats on his back.
• When he's working on Bane's Venom tubes, or anything else, Trogg puts old Hispanic songs to play on his radios. He's a terrible singer, but will sing every word at the top of his lungs.
• They all play cards when they're bored, and definitely watch sports and drink together. Bane doesn't care about teams, Bird and Trogg always are against each other. Again, Zombie is always included, but he's only standing around them in silence.
• Bane has a loud laugh. When he's really feeling happy, he laughs so, so loud and pats anyone close to him on the back. He also sleeps like a dad when he's tired after missions, laying on the couch with his hands on his chest, snoring.
• Trogg also laughs like that, but he keeps his hand to himself.
• Bird is ambidextrous. Just that :)
• Apparently, in the comics only Bird has an official last name, and the others only have names in the games. So I made names for them: Diego Vallelunga (Trogg), Sérgio Ortiz (Zombie) Angelo Colossimo (Bird), Antônio Eduardo Diaz (Bane).
• If Bane had kept he Naja-Naja baby (from Bane: Conquest), Zombie would become his caretaker, like he was to Bane.
• Osito would also become the kid's new toy, and Bane would give him a knife when he became old enough to carry one.
• When Bane is annoyed with Bird he'll purposely call him 'Birdy' or 'Angelo'. Makes Bird's blood boil, and he will storm off (if he receives permission to do so).
• After Bane leaves the Secret Six, he goes back with the crew to Santa Prisca to fix the situation of the country. He's kinda of a hero there, like the Batman of Santa Prisca.
• The Crew is not fond of the Secret Six, but they respect Scandal Savage as Bane's adopted daughter and try to be nice to her and her wives and kid.
• None of them understands "the things the kids like nowadays". Black Alice once show them a meme, and they spent half an hour trying to understand.

Knightfall headcanon: Jaune watches lot of movies, primarily the ones of action genre, he can easily fall asleep watching something artsy or pretentious. Cinder is not a movie person since she has barely seen any movies throughout her childhood. Now she mostly finds them loud and grating and prefers reading a book. She enjoys nitpicking details of Jaune's action movies, much to his chagrin.

In Attack of White Knight!Azrael
A few days ago, I reread curse of the white knight by sean murphy, and that comic has awakened feelings of rage within me that make me feel a little coocoo and has reminded me just how much I love Jean-Paul Valley/Azrael and the way both Denis O’Neil and Dan Watters have written him. The following is a vaguely structured version of the rant I gave my friend about it.
To me, one of the most important things O’Neil has done during his time writing Azrael/JPV was making them deeply, completely, human. During the original Azrael run, Knightfall, and then Azrael Agent of the Bat, JPV/Az have done bad things, sure, but they’ve never been treated as a full on villain, used only to move the plot of the heroes forward. We got to see exactly how and when they got to the point of being an antagonist, and at least from my point of view, it always was at least to some level sympathetic. JPV/Az are a RAMCOA system, and I personally headcanon that their psychosis is a PTSD symptom rather than a disorder on its own, as it only seems to appear after Azrael gets triggered and memories of becoming Azrael surface, bringing the buried trauma with it. It’s something that affects them clearly all through their appearances before their death, and now again in Waters’s writing of them. They have delusions, they’re paranoid, they hallucinate their father and a knight templar in the sky asking them to kill a man while they struggle not to, and they’re still not treated like a villain by the narrative. Like an antagonist, yes, but not a villain, as is recognized directly by the characters, both in Knightsend and afterwards.
And then, there’s Sean Murphy. Sean Murphy did not bother reading Jean-Paul Valley/Azrael’s wiki page. Sean Murphy did not bother trying to know what JPV/Az’s character was even about. Instead, he built a one dimensional villain on the sole basis of “guy who believes he’s an angel, heavily religious”. Mind, that isn’t even an accurate way to describe Azrael at all. While O’Neil’s JPV/Azrael is a young man desperately trying to cope with trauma bad enough for him not to remember, and trying to keep the angel in his head in check so they pose neither a danger to themselves or anyone else, Murphy’s is a middle aged evangelist soldier with lung cancer. While O’Neil’s JPV is alone, has no support system to speak of to rely on, as his father is dead and he visibly has no friends, Murphy’s clearly has people around him in Michael and Gabriel, who, frankly, should have pulled him out of it. By all means, Murphy’s Azrael should be both medicated and in therapy for psychosis rather than enabled by his friends to believe himself an angel and wield a flaming sword. Where O’Neil’s Azrael still chose to do good even as it was a fight against themself, even as everyone told them to do otherwise, Murphy’s is, much like the rest of his book, edgy to be edgy.
Now, O’Neil’s run is long, as has its ups and down, and I do understand that Murphy might not have had the time or want to read through it, though I’d argue Knightfall should be mandated reading for anyone looking to call back the Azbats suit. However, Murphy not reading comics has lead to many other egregious errors which could have been fixed with even the slightest bit of research. And I do mean a single Google search would have done the trick for some of them. It truly goes to show just how little Murphy actually cares about the source material aside from Snyder’s Batman movies when he allows for Jason to be the first Robin without thinking twice about it, or about how to fix it, or when he makes Renée Montoya out to be a character only to never even call her by her first name more than once, or when he makes Barbara an entirely out of character mess.
O’Neil and Quesada have poured so much love into Azrael and it honestly makes me angry how little respect Murphy has for their work and their character. He is, to me, one of the best characters to come out of 90s comics, and Murphy could not be bothered to read a wiki article about him, or to spend an hour reading Batman Sword of Azrael – which would have been enough for a more solid grasp of the characters, and is truly only four issues long. To me, JPV/Azrael is one of the superheroes who goes through the most shit, on a personal level, and is the most human in his reactions, which is why seeing him turned into a caricature, if you could even call it that, is so shocking, as it’s incredibly easy to imagine his real reactions in the comic. He is not a villain. Many people like to bring up the panel of Robin where he chokes Tim Drake in the Batcave, but none of them seem to be willing to discuss what came before or after, the reason why any of it even happened at all. The truth is, JPV/Az banned Tim from the cave because they doubted their ability to protect a Robin as Batman, and Tim, as he kept on returning, eventually got to the Batcave and JPV/Az snapped and put the fear of them in him ; it was never meant as more than a scare, and is an action taken in a stressful moment for JPV. Though it doesn’t make it right, the context does make me sympathetic to the circumstances. At that point in time, JPV is trying to fit in Batman’s shoes while said man is away, fighting for control against Azrael, losing time when he loses that fight, feeling like he’s losing his mind as he starts to see his father and Saint Dumas, and trying to keep his head up while he’s swallowed by the mantle of Batman which Bruce knew full well would drown him.
It’s a horrible time. Bruce admits it himself later on, it was something he knew could break JPV. Yet, through it all, JPV doesn’t kill. He lets a serial killer die, yes, but he only does so as he’s arguing with hallucinations of his father and Saint Dumas, both ordering him to kill. And even still, his only fault is in inaction, and not the murder he is later accused of. Through it all, JPV doesn’t give in. And in White Knight? In White Knight, JPV is a sad old man with cancer who’s being a little BITCH about it.
O’Neil’s is a better character in the 4 issues of Batman: Sword of Azrael than Murphy’s in the 8 issues of Curse of the White Knight.

Might not be up your alley, but Knightfall (Jaune x Cinder) headcanons? I'll admit, I'm a huge sucker for Hero x Villain ships, and relationships involving very bitter enemies to friends to close lovers, but I'll understand if it doesn't suit your tastes.
It's actually one of my top ones lately.
Knightfall
Went from enemies to enemies with tension to enemies who are also fwb but still hate each other to actual relationship
None of that "Pyrrha is a voice in her head" stuff, I'm going with the Cinder thought he was cute back in beacon as told to us by the manga.
Both see the same therapist
Thanks to leftover funds from Salem and Arc connections, they travel a lot and have a place to stay most places (staying with Arcs, apartments they have, or even old warehouses)
Very physically affectionate, helps Jaune's semblance doubles as a painkiller

New Knightfall Headcanon: Seeing as Cinder has alot of trouble with giving Jaune compliments or wholesome verbal affection, she tries to make up for it by using her Semblance to make small glass figurine animals and surprise him by leaving them on his bedside table or workbench when he isn't looking. His favorites are the dinosaurs.

Random Arkham Headcanons:
The reason Jason is so hunched over is because of the year he spent being tortured by Joker, physically damaging his posture.
Jason has unseen scars on other parts of his body, like the “J” on his cheek. He has a “Ha Ha” somewhere on him, and the Robin logo carved into his chest.
Jason was in the Asylum, during Arkham Asylum, but whenever Batman came close to finding him, Joker ordered one of this thugs to move him somewhere else.
The reason none of the Robin’s are mentioned at all in Arkham Asylum is because Batman had recently just lost Jason, (he thought he was dead) and because of this he didn’t want to speak to Tim or Dick, but is fine to talk with Barbara.
After Arkham Asylum, Ivy became less villainous, not really caring about crime and keeping safely to herself in Arkham City (using mind controlled thugs to get food of course.) After Protocol 10 she was disgusted by Strange’s efforts and the politicians who let it happen, and because of Batman stopping it and saving all the prisoners inside Ivy became more trusting of him, and more understanding. It’s why by Arkham Knight she doesn’t put up much of a fight against Scarecrow, GCPD or Batman, and even allies herself with the Dark Knight, knowing he truly isn’t like the others and trusting he will do the right thing.
Gordon knew Barbara was Batgirl, but didn’t know that she was Oracle. Even though he never said anything to his daughter about her secret life, he allowed her to continue, trusting her to be safe, whilst also silently hoping she’d give it up soon. After she was shot, he was deeply saddened for her but selfishly was glad this meant she wouldn’t work for Batman anymore, and he felt better knowing she was safer now than she was associating with him. It’s why when he discovers she was still working for Batman in AK, he felt deceived and cheated, lashing out at Batman for still letting his daughter keep on working for him in her condition. Eventually he learnt to trust his daughter more and grew to understand her decision and trust her to stay safe.
Before activating Knightfall, Batman returned to Panessa Studios to tell Harley about Ivy’s death. Harley was heartbroken, and blamed Batman for the deaths of the only two people she loved, before she cried for the rest of the night until GCPD came for her and discovered she had disappeared.
Selina discovered Ivy’s flower and realises she died after Batman freed her from Riddler. As repentance for killing her other plant, Selina took this one home with her to take care of.
Some unseen characters attended Wayne Manor when Batman “died”. The obvious one is Calendar Man, but also present was Red Hood, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Copperhead and Lady Shiva all attending in disguise or watching from the shadows. All of them were shocked when the manor blew up, except Catwoman, Red Hood and Shiva who weren’t surprised and didn’t even believe he’d really died at all.
