𖤐 A/N: OxyContin has the highest bio-availability, orally. While not the same thing as dilaudid, its in the same ballpark and can be used in high quantities to approximate the dilaudid high despite their differing (optimal) routes of administration. ALSO I know this track isn't "technically" hard techno don't come at me over bpm or whatever the song is just here to set the mood.

“Babe, is this really necessary?” Spencer whines as he watches you tear through his closet in search of an outfit for tonight. 

“Yes!” You quip back. “What if someday your team needs you to go undercover at a bar or club for a case? You’re the youngest of the bunch so you know that statistically you’re most likely to be chosen for such a task.” 

He groans and rolls his eyes in defeat. “Okay okay! But only because you have statistics on your side.” 

“Oh don’t be too upset, pretty boy. I’ll make this worth your while.” You wink cheekily. “Promise!” 

At this, Spencer perked up. He watched as you lay out your choice of clothing onto his bed. You were already all dressed up for the night in skimpy black latex and mesh, with your favorite pair of platform Demonias to top off the look. Spencer’s hands were all over you as soon as he opened his apartment door for you, but tonight you had a mission and nothing, not even Spencer, was going to stop you. You sit down at the edge of the bed besides the clothing, and you wave Spencer over. 

“Come here, love.” You purred, and he instantly obliged. “Undress for me, darling.”

Spencer makes quick work of the buttons on his polo, while your hands reach to unbuckle his brown leather belt. He pulls his top off in a hurry, sliding off a pair of beige slacks, till he’s left standing before you in nothing but socks and briefs. You put your hands on his hips and he puts his hands on top of yours. You then tilt your head up, meeting his lust filled gaze. He takes in a sharp breath as you press your lips to the skin just below his navel. You take a gentle bite, and suck, leaving behind a bruise-like mark. 

“Good boy.” You whisper, pulling away from his torso. “Sit here.” 

  You stand up and switch positions with him, so that now Spencer is seated at the edge of the bed, and you’re standing in front of him. First, you grab a shirt off the bed. It was an old Nine Inch Nails tour shirt you got back in high school that was large enough to wear to bed whenever you were too incapacitated to bother changing into proper pajamas. You had left it at Spencer’s the last time you stayed over after scoring together, and it was now serving a greater purpose. You pulled it over his head, lovingly ruffling his head after it poked through the shirt. Your hands then reach back out to the bed and pick up a black pair of denim. Kneeling in front of him, you begin to kiss in between his thighs as your hands grab hold of his ankles, guiding him into each pant leg one at a time. 

“Finish putting these on for me. I’ll be right back.” You give his thighs a teasing smack and giddily make your way to the ensuite. 

“Oh no…” Spencer whines as he notices a hello kitty makeup bag in your hands and a devilish smirk on your lips. 

“Oh yes!” you reply. “Come on, Spencie! We gotta disguise you a little bit if you’re really that afraid of Garcia or her friends running into you. Besides, I have a gift for you in here.” 

You gingerly shake the bag like one would do with pet treats, and you quickly descend onto his lap, trapping poor Spencer beneath you. You unzip the bag and pull out a prescription pill bottle. Oxycodone 80mg, immediate release. 

“Ta da! Take these normally so the effects can kick in when we’re already at the party. This way we won’t risk being caught with it on us.” You wink playfully, shaking out a few green pills from the bottle onto your palm. “Alright now open up!” 

Spencer laughs and complies. You gently toss them into his mouth like m&m’s and watch his Adam's apple bob up and down as he swallows the pills, enticing you forth to steal a loving bite. 

“Let's stay.” Spencer gasped out. “Please?” 

Still sitting on his lap you can feel his frustration slowly growing harder. For a moment there you’re tempted, but you quickly remember just how much more awaits you two tonight. 

“Nope, not staying!” You pull away from his neck, breaking the lustful spell.

Spencer pouts. 

 After swallowing a handful of pills as well, you turn your attention back to the makeup bag, rummaging around in search of a short black eyeliner and the accompanying pencil sharpener.

“Look up for me darling.” You say, placing a quick peck on Spencer’s pout and cupping his jaw with your free hand. “I promise you’ll thank me tomorrow. You’re gonna love tonight.” 

The pads of your thumbs delicately rub the skin of Spencer’s under eyes, smudging the charcoal-like pigment around into a messy raccoon eye style. You repeat the process on his eyelids until you’re satisfied. Then you toss aside the pencil and put a finger under his chin. 

“Open your eyes, love.” 

Spencer has beautiful eyes, everyone knows that, you’ve spent thousands of hours staring into those honeyed irises. However, nothing prepared you for the way his eyes seemed to glow in contrast to the darkness surrounding them. It was like staring into a pot of molten gold. 

“Ohh, pretty boy…” Your voice is a breathless whisper. 

Spencer blushes crimson, and he bashfully hides his face against your shoulder. You can feel his smile. 

“Come on, let's get going! I can’t wait to show you off. You’re so beautiful, Spencer.” 

You take his hand and lead him to the door, stopping only so he could slip on a pair of black converse he left by the entrance. The two of you giddily run out into the crisp night air. Goosebumps prickle your skin, the cold bites your cheeks, and your heart is ablaze. It isn’t long before you assume you’ve arrived at the clandestine location, pointing out a few straggling folks dressed as eccentrically as you are and you watch as they soon disappear into an alleyway behind a building. You follow behind, turning into the alley when suddenly you’re face to face with a rather large hole in the ground. Peering in, you see a flight of concrete stairs descending into darkness below. A faint rhythmic thudding can be heard, confirming that this is indeed the place. Spencer grips your hand tightly as you pull him along into the belly of the beast. The thudding grows louder, transforming into powerful kicks as the lights at the end of the tunnel get closer. Standing at the threshold between the tunnel and the large bunker, Spencer looks as if he is staring directly into the mouth of madness, transfixed. You smile triumphantly. You had finally managed to bring him into your element. 

The rest of the night happened in snippets. 

One: You see sprawling concrete walls covered in graffiti, the humidity of the room makes them almost look slick, reflecting the pulsing lights, all throbbing to a sound reminiscent of industrial machinery. There is an inherent eroticism to it all. You look on in awe as Spencer throws caution to the wind and starts dancing to the beat. You’ve never seen him so carefree. His sweat slicked skin glistens like a glass prism beneath the light, flickering through all the colors of the rainbow in the dark. 

Two: His hands are around your waist, pulling you flush against him. Drenched, Spencer’s auburn curls cling to the skin of his forehead and temples and the tops of his cheeks. The eyeliner has now spread all around his eye sockets, making him look hungry, animalistic, possessed. 

Three: You’re pressed up against a concrete slab, it feels cool against your skin. Your bodies have melted into one another in the high heat, welded together with slick until you couldn’t tell where you ended and Spencer began. The thick beats of hard techno penetrate your bodies, and the two of you thrust in tandem trying to keep up with the relentless rhythm. You cling to Spencer in desperation, as if the mounting pleasure would be enough to make you crumble into nothing but atoms. Your bones rattle as a powerful orgasm reverberates through your body. Your shrieks drown in the music, and everything fades to black.

The next morning, these scenes play out in your mind's eye as you lay awake in bed next to Spencer. You wondered how much longer this would all last. Both of you knew this lifestyle would only end with tragedy, but you didn't know how to live any other way. You're both addicted to the highs and lows of life, to the stress of the job, and to blowing off steam in the worst of ways. Sometimes you feel guilty about supplying Spencer with drugs, and you wonder if he ever feels the same way about you as you turn on the bed to face him. At least here, in this moment, you were both at peace. You always love seeing him sleep, the way all worry dissipates from his visage and all that's left is the beautiful boy you fell in love with.

Uncle Walter did his thing where he watches a movie and then gives me a summarized review of it. In this case, Wonder Woman 1984.

SPOILERS AHEAD!

Fairly warned be thee says I!

Seriously, spoilers.

For reals.

You sure?

Okay.

The movie begins with 10+ minutes of American, I mean Themyscarian, Gladiator. Is this important to the plot? No. But it definitely happened. In a 2 1/2 hour movie.

Fast Forward. (VCR joke, get it? Because it’s the 80s.)

Diana rescues people. At the mall. Where it’s the 80s! In case you forgot!

It’s like the 1980s vomited all over the entire movie. WE GET IT, IT’S THE 80s, gawd.

(The money and effort put into restoring that mall for that scene wasn’t worth it.)

She also rescues Barbara, soon to be Cheetah, by beating the shit out of Barbara’s attacker/potential rapist. Because of course.

It’s been 70 years. Diana is a sad, lonely woman. Because her boyfriend is dead. And, despite being loved by all, gorgeous, wealthy, and successful, without a man what is she?

Then you’ve got the Lord Mandolorian, the infomercial star running a Ponzi scheme.

Barbara gets the magical rock and wishes to be just like Diana, despite Diana’s life being nothing but SADNESS ALONE EMPTY because, as we said, no man.

Kristen Wiig, Barbara, is every 90s teen movie protagonist who just has to take her glasses off, put her hair down, and wear something form fitting, and suddenly she’s beautiful! Because glasses and a ponytail are so not hot.

Lord Mando steals the stone and then becomes The Rock, so everyone’s wishing on him like the Blue Fairy only with more fondling.

Wonder Woman doesn’t MEAN to wish for her dead boyfriend, because she would never do something like that on purpose.

Steve is then ripped from, presumably, heaven and Quantum Leaps into random Handsome Man (seriously, that’s what he’s credited as).

Then random Handsome Man shows up at a fundraiser, all “Yo, Diana, it’s me!”

Suddenly he’s not random Handsom Man, he’s Steve!

So naturally, they have sex! With some random dude’s body. Without his knowledge or consent. While they’re both fully aware this is some random dude’s body.

Even Quantum Leap realized that wasn’t okay. And that was MADE in the 80s, not just set there.

Meanwhile, Crystal Lord Mando is granting wishes and taking each person’s most prized possession in exchange, whether that’s power, a car, or a kidney.

Wonder Woman starts losing her Amazonianess because that’s what she traded for Quantum Leaped Steve.

She’s all not okay with this, and the world is also going to end, so after she has an 80s clothing montage with Steve, she figures she might really ought to do something about this whole world ending shit, as inconvenient as it is.

So she, Steve, and Handsom Man’s body fly the invisible jet to Egypt for a car chase.

Oh, yeah, she can turn things invisible now. Guess she didn’t lose those powers.

We’re now an hour and twenty minutes in before Wonder Woman actually Wonder Womans, mall “fight” not withstanding.

After some actually decent stunt work, she lassoes a missile to save some small dummies.

Meanwhile, Cheetah Lady is attacked, AGAIN, by the exact same potential rapist, only this time Cheetah beats him up, which means she’s turning evil or something, since she liked it. Because it’s only okay for Diana to go after bad guys, not for Cheetah Lady to defend herself, and be glad to do it, obviously.

Diana, Steve, and Handsome Man’s body go to the White House to stop Crystal Lord Mando. Where Diana can slip away from the tour because she knows Carl. You know, Carl. Who can just decide all on his own to take people around the White House, because he’s Carl. Frickin’ Carl.

Crystal Lord Mando holds hands with the president and looks lovingly into his eyes.

Now he knows about particle beams. He wants to become PARTICLE MANDO.

Diana’s CGI lasso destroys a bunch of art and beats people up.

Still human Cheetah Lady saves Crystal Lord Mando because she likes being hot.

They fight the police, or each other, or both? in a scene where some things happen. Or something. It’s a little confusing. They ARE destroying the White House, though.

Chaos! Riots! Dogs and cats, living together...mass hysteria! (It is the 80s after all.)

Diana, Steve, and Handsom Man’s body (which has now had the shit beaten out of it) lean against a column.

Where we get the whole “Diana can’t win without the woman pain of losing her boyfriend,” just like the first movie. She’s all “I’ll never love again!” But he’s all, “it’s cool, I’m already dead.” So they kiss, she walks away, she renounces her wish, and she’s all Amazonian again.

Then random Handsome Dude is just... there? Sore and in pain from having the shit kicked out of him. With no memory of how he got there, or any idea of what’s been happening, and definitely not what his body’s been doing?

Steve Trevor leaps out, jumping from body to body, striving to put right what once went wrong in the DCEU.

Then Diana LASSOES AN AIRPLANE.

And now she can fly because Steve and LOVE.

We are TWO HOURS INTO THIS MOVIE.

Barbara, in her spiky jacket, wishes to be different. Like nobody else. Because she’s unique, and special and UNIQUE.

Cue Metallica, because Diana’s literally RIDING THE LIGHTNING to get to Particle Mando. And she can hear everyone’s wishes now?

Diana changes into her shiny rave outfit.

CGI Actual Animal Cheetah and CGI covered Diana fight in a dark setting, with muted colors, because dear god that CGI is awful and they’ve got to hide it somehow.

(Cats called, they want their design back. Wait, does Cheetah have a butthole? Asking the real questions here. RELEASE THE BUTTHOLE CUT!)

The rave armor, that’s supposed to hold off all the armies of man, can’t stand up to the little kitty claws of someone in face paint and lines drawn on with eyebrow pencil.

Then they’re, like... swinging around? On a CGI lasso and high power line? Something is happening, presumably, but it’s so dark and muted that we’re not exactly sure what.

Cheetah drowns and gets electrocuted, so naturally she’s not dead.

Diana has a wind and paper fight with Crystal Lord Particle Mando.

Monologuing Particle Mando is interrupted by Declarative Diana, who thinks the world was PERFECT in the 80s. Luckily Diana’s got her white girl optimism that first world problems really aren’t so bad, and there are only first world problems.

But she did it! Her cheesy speech about can’t everyone else just be happy not being an immortal Amazonian Warrior? Works. (Probably because the Lasso of Truth was in all the particles, or something.)

Then Not-Crystal-Not-Particle Lord Mando has to save his son, so he renounces his wish and everyone else does, even though they shouldn’t need to? Because if he renounces it, shouldn’t everything stop? Maybe? Who knows how it works.

Everything goes back to... post riots/chaos/hysteria.

No-longer-Crystal-Particle Lord Mando is all good now because his son loves him. Yay?

Presumably something happens to make the world recover from all this, but we’re not privy to what that something was.

Now it’s Christmas. Diana runs into random Handsome Man. Who doesn’t know who she is, has no idea what’s happened to him, and doesn’t know he’s boned her, but hey, she’s cool with it. And he likes the outfit she chose for him, so that whole rape thing is okay now, I guess.

Two and a half hours in, when this long-ass movie SHOULD be over, we’re treated to Diana swimming through the clouds.

FINALLY IT’S OVER.

And then the one good part. Which we WON’T spoil, because it’s actually the one good part. In the goddamn credits.

In summation: Why?

Listen to My Voice, It’s My Disguise

[Co-written with @ichlugebulletsandcornnuts back in March. Seems kind of fitting, now. You’ll figure it out.]

The past year and a half had seemed like an absolute whirlwind. 

Their show, finally being able to tell their side of the story, became an unexpected hit and after multiple tours and several months in the West End of London, the queens were finally told that the contract at the theatre was currently in the process of being reconsidered. this meant that, if the theatre decided they didn’t want the show any more, then that would be the end of it. The producers didn’t seem overly worried that the show would actually close; after all, it was receiving rave reviews and creating a lot of revenue, but the chance was always there that their luck would run out and the show would close.

Katherine, in particular, found this possibility worrying, and hearing about the show potentially closing sends a wave of panic down her spine.

It was a long and hard-fought battle for the producers, but they ultimately received the news that ‘Six: the Musical!’ was being forced to close after two years of tours and West End performances.

With heavy hearts, they call the girls for a meeting.

“This is about your contracts,” Cassandra, one of the producers, tells the nine actresses. “And it is with great regret that I tell you Six is closing on the West End in two months.”

There’s a collective sense of shock and heaviness in the room at her words as the queens take in their meaning. The three alternates glance at each other, concerned.

“Like, for good?” Cathy asks quietly, and Cassandra nods.

“Unless another theatre picks up our contract, we’ll be closed permanently.”

“They can’t just kick us out!” Anne suddenly bursts out. “We’re selling out shows almost every night.”

Cassandra shrugs. "I know, they see that too. but they want to bring something over from the states, they think it'll bring in more money." She looks at the forlorn features of the women around the room. "There is talk of bringing us to broadway," she offers, then sobers. "But I wouldn't hold my breath."

Jane sighs. "So that's it, then? We’re done?"

Cassandra nods glumly. "We’re done."

Before their matinee show that day, the atmosphere backstage was glum and miserable. There was a sudden weight on their shoulders, now that their show had been given an expiration date, and both dressing rooms were unusually quiet.

Parr, Jane and Katherine get ready in mostly silence, each lost in their own thoughts about the day’s news. Cathy finishes changing first and ducks out of the room, giving some excuse about needing to speak with the musical director about something, although Jane suspects she left to give Katherine and Jane space to talk if they needed it.

Jane sees Katherine struggling with her ponytail and silently and automatically takes over with gentle hands, separating the hair into small plaits and then creating the whole ponytail from there. 

"If the show closes," Jane says softly, "how about a vacation? I know you liked Sweden, and I definitely wouldn't argue with going back."

Katherine simply shrugs, eyes downcast to the table as she felt Jane's fingers sort out her hair. 

"What’s going through your head, love?" Jane asks. She thinks it's just anxiety over the closing of the show, but with Katherine she can never be completely sure, as much as she wishes she could. 

She reaches around, gently bringing Katherine's chin up so they could lock eyes through the mirror. "Talk to me, kitty-Kat."

“It’s nothing,” Katherine mumbles. “A vacation sounds nice.”

“I can tell when you’re not being honest with me, sweetheart,” Jane sighs gently. “You know you can talk to me about anything, love. What’s on your mind?” Jane’s fingers run through Katherine’s hair as she makes another tiny plait.

Katherine shrugs again. “You know,” she says vaguely.

Jane presses her lips together tightly. “I know this isn’t just about the show closing,” she says. 

Katherine shrugs but doesn’t answer. 

Jane continues to plait her hair in silence, unable to find the right questions.

As she clasps the spiked ringlet around Katherine’s hair, Kat speaks again. 

“Jane?”

Jane looks at her slightly confusedly. why would Katherine call her by her first name? “Yes, darling?”

Katherine fiddles her hands, then rubs her upper arm. “When should I collect my stuff?” she asks very timidly.

Jane blinks, confused. “Collect what stuff from where?” she asks, adjusting Katherine’s ponytail gently. Katherine looks down at her hands.

“From your house.”

Her voice is so quiet and timid that Jane can barely hear the response, and even when she does it takes a moment to register.

“My... what? love, what are you talking about?”

“You know,” Katherine gives a tiny shrug. “Since the show is ending...” she mumbles something that sounds along the lines of “you’ll want your space back,” but it’s close to unintelligible and Jane can’t work out if she misheard or not.

“‘I'll want my space back?’” Jane repeats incredulously. Katherine nods in shy affirmation. 

Jane looks shocked. “Why would you think that?” her voice comes out as barely a whisper, she’s so horrified. 

Then, her heart shatters as she fearfully asks, “do you not want to be my daughter anymore?”

“I do,” Katherine says quietly, “I just thought that...”

“Thought what, Kat?” Jane asks, incredibly concerned. The idea that Katherine might not want to stay with her any more was terrifying, and her hands grip the back of Katherine’s chair slightly too tightly.

“I figured...” Katherine’s eyes start filling with tears as she makes eye contact with Jane through the mirror. “I figured you don’t want to be my mum anymore, right?”

Jane’s jaw quite literally falls open. All she can do is stare through the reflection to Katherine, whose tears are beginning to fall and who could only look helplessly down at her hands as she waited for the crushing blow of exactly what she is expecting. 

“Kat,” Jane asks, “why would you even think that?”

Katherine gives a tiny shrug. “If we weren’t working together any more, I thought you’d want a break from me.” Her voice is small and timid and it breaks Jane’s heart to hear it.

“Kat, you’re my daughter,” she says softly. “That doesn’t mean I only care about you for as long as we’re working together, it means I love you, always and forever.”

Katherine gives a tiny and hopeful smile, then looks down again. 

“But if it’s over,” she whispers, “we’ll have to do different things. We won’t ever see each other.”

Jane herself hadn’t contemplated that particular fact, but didn’t let it show. “We’ll see each other every night. We’ll eat casserole and lasagna and watch all of our favorite shows and movies. We’ll cuddle on the couch and I'll still sing you songs...doesn’t that still sound good?” she asks quietly. 

Katherine doesn’t look up again. “What if one of us works nights? What if we have mismatched hours? What if...” her voice trails off, then drops dramatically. “What if you find someone you want more than me?”

“Oh, Kat,” Jane soothes, one hand lifting to comb through Katherine’s ponytail. “I promise you, that’s not going to happen.”

“But how do you know?” Katherine insists. She can almost see it in her mind’s eye; they start working mismatched shifts, they start to drift apart, Jane makes excuses not to spend time with her when they are home at the same time, and eventually she asks Katherine to move out, replacing her with someone better. someone who doesn’t have Katherine’s baggage, who doesn’t still sometimes wake up screaming and grabbing her own neck.

“Because, Kat,” Jane says, interrupting her daydream, “how could I ever find someone more perfect than you?”

Katherine doesn’t answer, eyes still focused downward on her hands, trying to cast the horrible images of a life without Jane from her head. 

Jane frowns slightly at Katherine’s non responsiveness. With gentle hands, she pulls Katherine to her feet and over to the couch. 

Katherine won’t meet her eyes, so Jane cups her cheek and brings and tilts it up enough to make eye contact. 

“Kat, you know what those adoption papers meant, right? They mean you and me, through thick and thin.” She hushes her voice slightly. “Ane I wouldn’t want anyone else to be my little Seymour. Ever.”

Katherine looks at Jane with wide eyes and Jane is struck by just how young she looks, not all too different to the timid teenager Jane had met nearly two years ago in that rehearsal room.

“Do you promise?” Katherine says quietly, voice small but with a tinge of hope.

“Of course I do, love,” Jane runs her thumb soothingly over Katherine’s cheekbone. “You’re my daughter, and nothing is going to change that. Even if we worked completely mismatching hours, or even if you lived on the moon. I'll still be your mum, sweetheart.”

Katherine hears the genuineness behind Jane’s words, the honesty, and it makes her see the tiniest bit more light.

The thumb on her cheekbone makes her realize something as well: Jane knows her. knows how to make her laugh, how to soothe her tears, what she does and doesn’t like... Katherine had always known this, deep down, but in a sudden rush she sees very clearly that she hopes Jane never lets her go.

“I want you to be my mum,” she choked out, verging on tears. “Always.”

“And I will, Kat,” Jane says gently. “In this life or any other, I promise you.” She opens her arms and Katherine immediately flies into them, clinging to Jane and burying her face in her shoulder. The tears she’d been holding back start to leak down her face and soak into the shoulder of Jane’s costume. Jane follows the familiar soothing motions; one hand drawing circles on Katherine’s back, and the other running gently through Katherine’s hair, being careful not to mess up her ponytail.

Katherine wants to not cry, she wants it so badly, but all the stress she’d been feeling since the announcement was coming out now in one moment. she smiles, slightly at Jane’s hand in her hair and on her back. 

“10 minutes ladies! 10 minutes to the top of the show,” the monitor announces and Jane reluctantly pulls away. she looks at Katherine with a soft smile. 

“I think we should get your makeup fixed, love.”

Katherine nods and lets Jane lead her back to the chair. Jane takes a makeup wipe and gently cleans off all the smudged makeup, then begins to re-apply Katherine’s look with slow and even motions. 

“I don’t want you to think for a moment,” Jane says as she puts on Kat’s signature pink eye shadow, “that I would ever want to replace you. that thought has never even crossed my mind, love. I promise.”

Katherine lets out a tiny sigh. “I'm sorry,” she mumbles, eyes closed to let Jane apply the eyeshadow. “I just... I panicked, and-”

“No, love,” Jane says gently. “You don’t need to apologise, and I'm not angry with you or anything. I just want you to know that I love you, and I always will. Nobody could replace you, Kat, and I'd never want that to happen.”

Katherine would be lying if she said she didn’t cry that night. 

She cried quiet tears into her pillow, not out of fear but out of pure sadness, upset that she’d no longer be able to tell her story. None of them would. 

Parr posted the announcement the following afternoon. All their fans tweeted and messaged their outrage over the shows closing, and the last two month’s shows sold out in no time. 

Those shows flew by as the closing date rapidly approached. About one week before the closing day, Cassandra calls another meeting. 

“It’s gonna be hard to say goodbye to this place,” she says, looking fondly around the theater. “But it’s something that has to be done.”

Katherine looks down, but smiles for a fraction of a second as Jane’s arm wraps around her shoulders. 

Because she was looking down at her sneakers, she missed Cassandra’s mischievous smile. 

“We’ll just have to say hello to our new Broadway theater,” she says calmly.

There’s a moment of silence before the news sinks in, and then it suddenly hits all six queens. Katherine looks up and turns to look at Jane, who seems equally shocked yet thrilled.

“You mean we’re headed to America?” Boleyn grins. Cassandra nods.

“A producer from Broadway was in the audience a few months ago, and when he heard the show was closing he contacted us and asked if we’d be interested in a transfer.” She looks over at the three alternates who had been hovering slightly awkwardly, unsure if they were included in this. “And of course, if our amazing alternates are willing to come with us, they are more than welcome to continue their roles.”

They all light up in turn.

Katherine can’t contain her excitement. They were going to Broadway, she and Jane were going to still be working together, they all got to keep telling their stories. 

She curls up against Jane’s side, smiling from ear to ear. 

Jane kisses the top of her head. “Hear that, love?” she asks quietly so only Katherine could hear. “We’re going to Broadway. You and me, Kitty-Kat. Always.”

Katherine’s smile just got bigger at that.

Broadway would be a big change; they’d been to America briefly on tour, but hadn’t gone to New York, and some parts of the script would have to be changed to reflect American cultural references, but Katherine was excited to see how a brand new audience would react to the queens’ stories. One thing’s for sure, however. No matter what happens, Jane and Katherine would be side by side.

And some day will actually be able to like the person I had fought to became.

Play with one another, create a new, and in the end; am left with.. ugh? Sheesh, who's really knows, ya know? Kinda attribute this overall vibe, strange choice of dream like situations, and the incorporation of weird-oh, "Alien-like" Pseudo-Town Drunkard. And really, if you havent noticed the influence yet, lol, maybe it's nothing alike. SURPRISINGLY TRAGIC YUURI NEVER SAYS “LET’S END THIS” AU 2.0

We all dread the “let’s end this” scene in fanfic (except you crazy angst gremlins. You all know who you are.) But, ironically, for maximum angst, consider the Yuuri Never Says “Let’s End This” AU:

-Yuuri and Viktor have another day before the free skate to be happy, beautiful, and engaged as hell. They practice, tour some more around Barcelona, trend on Twitter when they do something adorable in front of all the tourists at Sagrada Família. All is right in the world.

-Yuuri tries his best to hide his mounting anxiety and enjoy the time he has left with Viktor. He doesn’t know where they stand after the Grand Prix Final, but he saw a nostalgic Viktor watching the other skaters’ SPs and assumes his coach wants to return to the ice. He believes he’s failed Viktor with his lackluster SP. He still hasn’t divulged his retirement plans to Viktor and he knows his coach isn’t going to take it well whenever he finally voices them.

-The next day, Viktor enters the stadium radiantly happy at his fiancé’s side. He raves about his beautiful Yuuri to Stéphane Lambiel and the TV audience.

-Yuuri, meanwhile, is a pressure valve of pent up anxiety ready to blow—which he inevitably does in the stressful period leading up to his skate.

-Viktor, who has learned from his parking garage experience, stays close to Yuuri and lends silent but steadfast support. However, he believes that Yuuri’s anxiety is solely due to his worry that his performance will negatively reflect on Viktor.

-Viktor gives him his usual pre-skate hug and kisses his ring, still worried about his Yuuri’s mental state. Remembering the parking garage, he reiterates that he believes in him even if Yuuri himself does not: “Yuuri, listen to me. I debated whether I should tell you this now, but…I took a break after becoming the five-time world champion to coach you, so how is it possible you still haven’t won a single gold medal? How much longer are you going to stay in warm-up mode? I really want to kiss the gold medal.” His delivery is tactless as usual, but he also knows that Yuuri hates being coddled and treated as weak.

-Yuuri, who has cried it out before his skate but still hasn’t divulged his retirement plans or asked Viktor about his own future plans (but has made plenty of assumptions), begins his free skate emotionally drained and with a huge weight hanging over him. Since he didn’t say “let’s end this” and thus did not witness Viktor’s breakdown, he is unaware (or is at least unwilling to consciously accept) how important and inspiring his skating is to Viktor. He doesn’t know that, for Viktor, a return to the ice will be empty without him. Thus, he doesn’t feel the need to show the “Viktor that lives on inside of [him].”

-He does, however, feel the need to show the world that Viktor coaching him was not a waste of time because he doesn’t want Viktor’s reputation sullied. He doesn’t skate for Viktor. He is still unaware just how important his skating is to the man. Rather, he skates for his idol’s reputation. Similarly to his SP two days prior, he focuses on the technical elements of his skate, but is unable to emotionally engage in his performance and convey the love meant to be represented in Yuri on Ice since there’s so much hanging over his head.

-Yuuri is exhausted and, like in episode seven, it shows. Nevertheless, it’s not a horrible skate by any means. While anxious and tired, Yuuri is also both stubborn and tough; it is the final skate of his career and he intends to make it count. He still changes the jump order.

-His PCS, and performance in general, is fine in the beginning of the skate when he believed he was fighting alone. It continues to be fine through the next phase of his performance that represents the love of his family and friends since Viktor still helped him to acknowledge and accept the love that has always surrounded him. His performance remains steady even when Viktor first enters the picture. After all, he’s thankful for the impact his idol Viktor had on his life and growth as a skater. However, as the skate moves toward the present and Viktor the man, the flesh-and-blood human being, enters Yuuri’s life, Yuuri starts to fumble. It’s not the final, beautiful “good bye and thank you for everything” to Viktor and skating that we see in canon.

-Yuri on Ice isn’t a complete story. He’s still dreading that final conversation with Viktor.

-He flubs the quad flip.

-Viktor does not realize, in that moment, that he really wants to return to skating. (Sayo—or, I think it was Sayo?—said in an interview that Viktor realizes that he wants to compete again the moment Yuuri lands his quad flip.)

-Viktor, unmotivated to continue skating, content in his position as coach, and still unaware that Yuuri plans to retire, does not tell Yakov that he plans to return to competition. Yuri doesn’t overhear said plans, doesn’t infer that Yuuri plans to retire, doesn’t confront Viktor about it, and doesn’t receive a desperate, crushing hug.

-Yuuri is an important part of Yuri’s agape, as revealed in his FS monologue. All Yuri wants is for Yuuri, whom he admires, to skate a clean skate. Yuri thus enters his FS bitter and livid with Yuuri over his average performance. In episode 12, Yuri’s anger was an expression of his agape (i.e., the kitty shows his love with his claws) and he skated in large part for Yuuri; he pushed himself beyond his limits to prevent Yuuri’s retirement. In contrast, here, his anger at Yuuri isn’t constructive and actually cripples his agape. He isn’t motivated to prevent Yuuri from retiring. He’s just angry. As far as he knows, Yuuri will continue along as an average skater performing far below his potential with Viktor at his side as coach. Yuri will never get to see Yuuri skate clean. Moreover, he’ll never get the opportunity to skate against Viktor and prove that he’s more than Viktor 2.0 since he believes Viktor will be too busy looking after the pig. With a with a critical component of his agape aggressively carved out by rage, and no additional push to prevent Yuuri from retiring, Yuri performs well in his FS, but not quite as passionately and as limit-pushing as canon. 

-Yuri wins the GPF. Even though his FS wasn’t very passionate and was subject to some errors, he’s consistently scored at about a 200, or just below, for his FS. Even if he gave a subpar performance, it is very unlikely that he’d score the 182.06 or lower on the FS that would be necessary for JJ to surpass him. JJ comes in second place, with his canon total score of 300.62, although it is possible the other skaters’ performances could have affected his nerves, and therefore score, a few points in the positive or negative direction. Otabek--who was still robbed. Sorry, Otabek--comes in third, with his canon total score of 293.41 (or close to it). 

-Yuuri comes in fourth. Assuming Yuuri’s FS score is similar to the 177-ish he received at the Cup of China with an additional +6-ish for the revised jump order (and that +6 is generous since that’d assume he landed all the jumps, which he did not), he would receive a total score of 281-ish. Even if he rallied for the final, he’d need an additional 12-ish points to make the podium, which doesn’t seem likely. 

-Yuuri, who wasn’t ‘called out’ to keep fighting by Yuri in his FS and is extremely demotivated due to missing the podium, keeps his plans to retire and accepts that he’s a dime-a-dozen skater that couldn’t even make the podium. 

-Yuuri, though he doesn’t feel like he deserves the opportunity, is additionally devastated by the loss of the EX skate--his one and only chance to skate on the same ice as Viktor before his retirement. 

-Viktor tries to console him despite his own disappointment, but is at a loss. Viktor feels like a failure as a coach, as he failed yet again at helping Yuuri with his anxiety and figuring out what he needed from him. 

-Later that night, in their hotel room, Yuuri finally tells Viktor that he is retiring and that he should return to skating. Viktor just looks at Yuuri, the matching Stammi Vicino costumes hanging unworn in the closet, and cries. He’s heartbroken and completely unmotivated to return, both because he didn’t have that moment of realization during Yuuri’s FS and because he feels like an utter failure as a coach, his love is leaving him, and he’s just generally in a really low mood.

-They both skip out on attending the EX. Soon after, they both announce their retirement and, with no time left in Barcelona to resolve their miscommunication, they quietly return to Hasetsu. Viktor packs up his room. Their future together remains uncertain. 

-Meanwhile, at the EX: Since Yuuri did not shatter the FS world record, Yuri is generally satisfied with his FS performance and is therefore is content to perform Angel of the Fire Festival as his EX skate. Yuri and Otabek do not choreograph Welcome to the Madness. Yuri’s EX skate is very similar to his FS, a skate that is much more Viktor’s style than his own (so much so that Yakov has a flashback to a young Vitya during his performance). The performances leave Yuri feeling firmly in Viktor’s shadow and, despite his best efforts, well on the way to being groomed as Viktor 2.0.

REI Introduces Adventures for Pets

REI Adventures has been guiding people on adventure travel trips for more than 30 years. Whether it’s cycling the winding roads of Zion National Park, exploring the unique flora and fauna of the Galapagos Islands or trekking through the Himalaya, REI guides have earned a reputation for delighting wanderers with excursions across the globe. Today, REI Adventures is announcing a new offering: REI Pet Ventures—global adventure travel just for pets.

“We branched out into family adventures over a decade ago, to much success, getting parents and young children experiencing nature and travel together,” said James Rodgers of REI Adventures. “For many of us, our pets are a valuable member of our family, sometimes even more than a child or spouse, so expanding into REI Adventures trips for pets felt like the next logical step.”

The inspiration for Pet Ventures—active adventures designed with pets in mind—began with REI customers. For the last few years, customers traveling with REI Adventures raved about the trips, but consistently told trip leaders that they wished they could expose their pets to the same level of adventure. “Our first thought was to have folks bring their pets along on the adventures, but to be sensitive to those allergic to or fearful of animals, we thought, why shouldn’t the pet be able to travel on their own?” explained Rodgers. “There’s many a turtle or goldfish who would prefer to leave their humans behind and have an adventure.” From there, Pet Ventures was born.

Longtime REI member Laine Cherashore was one of the first people to send her cat on a Pet Ventures pilot trip, Great Smoky Mountains Glamping for Cats. “I've felt guilty about keeping Tosh indoors from the beginning,” Cherashore said. “She's always longed to be an outdoor cat. I couldn't be happier that REI finally provided a safe and fun environment for her to live out her best adventure cat life!” Tosh, the cat, came back with a glossier coat and improved fitness levels. Cherashore was thrilled, she said.

The Parade starts at St. Pete Beach City Hall (155 Corey Ave) and heads west down Corey Ave, south on Blind Pass Rd, east on 73rd to Bay St and back to City Hall. Santa will finish the parade route at the St. Pete Beach Library (365 73rd Ave) to meet with all the Whos in Whoville. While at the library, enjoy Grinch themed crafts, a movie, face painting, and light refreshments. This free event begins at 11am.
