Yuzuya KRBK x roomie X Infection Au
Tumblr media
So in this AU there's gonna be a zombie apocoyle where Kirishima is the protagonist Bakugo died due to getting infection which mess kiri up badly like this dude eyes are dull have no emotion and is basically always moody and sassy there's gonna be background characters like tamaki, shoto, denki, Neijire, jirou, ochako, sero and prob some more even as infected so here are some headcanons and fun facts
•Roomie aka us will be a cameo in the series or will be references
•ghost Bakugo will be Kiris Hallucination and Kiri is aware of this but just pretend just to at least be sane
•Ghost bakugo would taut and tease him even if Kiri is not in a good mood
•Denki would he basically everyone's therapist
•Neijire character in this au would make you wanna slap her a bit
•Tamaki would try to be Kiris New right hand man and try to help him as well since he's a good friend
•their mission is to travel to the place roomie was last spotted and find them
•There will be one sided ships like Tododeku tamamiri
Jiroumomo and more!

summary ;; As Jake Sully's oldest daughter, you never see eye to eye with him, always challenging him and pushing his buttons to the limit. What happens when things go too far one day? [PART 2] pairings ;; dad!jake sully x reader, mom!neytiri x reader, sully family x reader genre ;; pure angst and family feels notes / explanations ;; welcome to the labor of my daddy issues and my very own therapy. this fic is inspired by this one by @layonatanvi and I only wanted to borrow the running away from home to get an ikran idea/prompt! Please excuse my mistakes if you see any.
Tumblr media
There’s a widespread belief among sky people that every first-born daughter is a direct copy of her father.
You listened in on your own father complaining to your mother about this privately one time; according to him, this was why you guys kept banging hammerheads like 'angtsìks.
Lo’ak was his troublemaker, yes, but you were the rebel pain in his ass, wouldn’t stop questioning one tiny simple step he made, never took anything seriously when he needed you to be on top of things hundred percent of the time... Even your younger brother knew boundaries after he was given the stink eye, but you hadn’t stopped testing him every single goddamn day after the sky people had come back.
His youngest son and oldest daughter were nearly identical in the speed they got him seeing red, but the similarities ended there. Lo’ak would go behind him to cause trouble, and you would do it right to his face, that fearlessness and defiance made you more dangerous than your brother in your father’s opinion.
His blood pressure skyrocketing was reserved for Lo’ak and the shenanigans he knew right away the boy was getting into, and you got his explosive anger the moment you would open your mouth to defy him — he couldn’t talk to you, a normal conversation even about your mother’s cooking wasn’t possible without you being passive-aggressive and things snowballing from there.
(“This is delicious Neytiri, thank you for the food. Sturmbeest?”
“Sturmbeest meat ran out like two weeks ago, father. You ask this everyday and mom answers the same everyday.”
Cue him reprimanding you for talking to him like that, you saying maybe he should greenlight a hunt soon to calm his nerves and promptly being sent to your room. It was Neteyam who’d saved some food for you that night.)
If only you would stop talking back to him and listen for once, he’d said, pacing in the tent with hands on hips like an agitated viperwolf as mother watched on, most likely tired from going through this loop for yet another day. You are the older sister to Lo’ak, Kiri and Tuk, why can’t you be a role model for them like Neteyam is?
(Mom had given him the flattest, “She is at the age for such behavior, Ma’Jake, we’ve talked about this. Let her be.”)
In your defense, he didn’t make sense sometimes, what harm was there in wanting him to explain the thought process behind his decisions?
Apparently you simply were prohibited from doing that to the Olo’eyktan.
But he was father, he was your family. Why did that have to be disrespect?
He wasn’t like this before.
A small part of you was aware this was you lashing out because you missed your father — the lighthearted rock in your life, the big shadow protecting you from the heat of the world, who knew how to smile and show his love before all of this. Now he was just the leader of the clan, the weight of the revered Toruk Makto on his shoulders made him a total stranger you didn’t recognize.
He barely ever called you sweetheart anymore, punishing you for being a brat, most likely. You tried to act like it didn’t hurt.
But it did. You missed him dearly when he was right in front of you. The rest of the family did, too, they just didn’t say it out loud the way you expressed through what you called standing up to him — in reality, it was a statement about the man he had become, father couldn’t read between the lines to understand.
Mom did.
She would always explain he did it out of love and worry, and his every move had a reason behind it after the scoldings ended. It was as if she saw right through the prickly exterior of her eldest daughter.
Her love wasn’t held back like his was, not shared like military MREs at decided moments in a day in between attacks, raids, meetings and duties. Hers were long touches, hugs, kisses on your temple, shared time and hunts together, her letting you ride on her ikran with her, the warmth of a meal and soft smiles; whilst his was randomly asking how you were after training and where you’ve been if he caught onto your absence sometimes. He didn’t have time for you or your siblings except for Tuktuk these days. That’s why you were now a mama’s girl.
Sooner or later, the breaking point was finally bound to arrive.
Yours did after a particularly heated-up fight about your rite of passage. You had had enough of father postponing it when Lo’ak, younger than you, had already gained his own ikran and gone through uniltaron. He was present in the tent while you were fussing and debating with your immovable mountain of a father only answering with single syllable responses, and his light snickers made you all the more aggressive. He got a strong jab from Kiri after a loud snort.
Kiri, you could get. She was built different from the start — got her mount earlier than anybody else, just walked up to it and asked. Besides, the girl wasn’t a dick about it like Lo’ak was.
“You aren’t ready yet,” father answered the more you asked him. You thought he'd say a different thing the hundredth time, but he didn't. “Your brother was.”
Lo’ak puffed his chest at that, desperate for a drop of recognition as always, and you could only roll your eyes. “So you think I’m weak? I’m not strong enough?”
Father sighed at the provocation. “That’s not what I’m saying. This and being ready are two different things.”
“How are they different? If I’m on top of my training, that means I’m ready.”
“Physically ready, and mentally ready are not the same.”
“How can I not be mentally ready, I’ve already seen what happens—”
“Enough!” He stood up, towering above you and leaning in slightly. Your younger brother had stopped smiling so quickly you almost let a laugh escape you, and father got agitated when he saw that, thinking you were making fun of him. “Some don’t return from the dream hunt. Do you understand? The strongest sometimes don’t return from that. Your mind needs to be strong.”
“And mine isn’t?”
He gave a slow exhale through his nose, not actually wanting to say it for some reason. “No it isn’t.”
“Why?”
There it is. Your signature phrase. ‘Why?’
And it made your father look above, asking silently for patience from Eywa as it always did.
“Ma’ite, why don’t we take a break, hm? Come walk with me,” your mom interrupted, taking your hand and standing next to you, your four fingers got enveloped in her larger, warmer grip, strong and insistent.
“No, I wanna hear it. What do you think makes me not ready?”
You insinuating that your father was entirely going off his own wrong opinion and not knowing any better set him off. You saw the change from ticked off to borderline on edge, but instead of giving into it, he turned his back on you and went back to cleaning his gun, movements choppy and harsh. “That immaturity for a start.”
And you hissed at him—actually hissed at him when none of your siblings would ever dare to talk back to him during a lecture.
The audible gasps, the holding of breaths, and the slow turn of your father’s head looking like he was going through confusion of reality upon being hit on the head had followed. His eyes narrowed and the lines of his eyebrows got gradually lower on his face, his form seemingly expanding in mass from building anger, spine slowly straightening after fully comprehending what you just did.
“I’m way past you giving me attitude missy,” his baritone and low voice was so steady that you’d rather him yell at you like usual, but he was scarily calm, pushing you to raise your chin righteously at him to show you weren’t bothered by him none, but your ears betrayed you by cowering flat and taut against your skull. “But you’re hissing at your father now? Hm? You think this right here is gonna get you the respect you think you deserve?”
“You don’t listen,” you said, ignoring your heart trashing away from how coldly father was to you.  “Disrespect,” your fingers quoting in the air resulted only in making him angrier. Neteyam to his right, silent and observant the whole argument, was furiously shaking his head that the beads in his braids were clicking loudly. “is the only way you ever pay attention to anything anymore. See? Look how sharp you are right now. Mission accomplished, I guess.”
“Bro…” Lo’ak, frightened by the wide eyed glare father was giving you, weakly protested, but you knew he would never be able to interfere in the verbal struggle between you and father the way you did to his.
“You will go to your room,” father said between his teeth, “Do not let me see your face. I swear to Eywa—Neytiri, get her outta here.“
“Do you ever want to see our faces anymore, father?”
A beat.
Mom gasped your name in shock, grabbing your arm this time as if she wanted to drag you away.
All his fury froze away immediately. “What did you just say?”
You just stared at him.
“That’s enough,” your mother snapped at you, but you didn’t hold it against her, she was more worried about what would follow if this went on. “Come on, we’re leaving.”
“Okay.” Father slowly shook his head, the storm brewing right under his skin got you preparing for the impact, and all the kids flinched when he threw the unloaded gun back in the crate. “You know so much, don’t you? You’re smart, wise. Know better than Tsahik herself. Fine, you get your way. Go.”
You froze. “What?”
“Yeah, go. Get yourself an ikran.”
“Father—”
“Don’t father me. Go on. I’m not stopping you. Since you’re so ready and you’ll say just about anything to get what you want, who am I to get in your way, huh?”
But you didn’t want it to be like this. Iknimaya was supposed to be something exciting, prideful — a ceremony. He was saying it like you were being thrown out. Who was going to paint your face? Be proud of you?
“Why are you just standing there?” He poked your crushed ego further, confident in the fact that you wouldn't set one foot outside of the cave systems at this hour of the day. “Didn’t you want this?”
You didn’t want this.
“Dad, it’s the middle of the night,” Kiri said, appalled, not quite believing her ears.
“What does it matter?” He showed you in mock pride, up and down that you couldn’t stop the tears from stinging the corners of your eyes. “Mighty hunter here is ready.”
“Jake,” your mother warned in such a threatening tone that he stopped and shifted on his feet, almost uneasy.
“What? If she doesn’t want a father’s concern I’m not giving it to her.”
Like you weren’t standing right in front of him at all.
“Jake!”
That was the final straw. You wrenched your arm free from mom’s iron grip and screamed, “I hate you!” at the top of your lungs at him before storming off the tent.
His ears flattening was the last thing you paid attention to as everything became a blur because of tears swelling. Yeah, right. You wished you could hurt him, unfortunately he was too much of a wall for that. You bet he was scoffing at your declaration right now.
Your body thought faster than your brain did even when the emotions had you drowning under the current, deciding you were going to sneak off to the ikran rookery tonight. You knew he would send Neteyam after you — him barking, “Follow your sister,” at the boy right after you hid yourself between the rocks surrounding the tent was the confirmation of the hypothesis. He was to make sure you didn’t leave High Camp.
Everyone in your family knew your favorite hiding spot to cool off, Neteyam of course was heading there automatically, and it was the headstart you needed to get a move on.
Fine. You would complete your iknimaya yourself without anybody’s support, as if these things had any value anymore with how military he’d conditioned the clan to be. You were going to make him eat his words for humiliating you.
The muffled of father drifting off flared up your determination as you soundlessly sneaked off. "Jesus, I've spoiled her too much..."

y/n had been keeping herself busy for the past 3 months. she did everything to keep her mind off of everything. weaving baskets and nets like it was a project to give everyone in the clan, fishing for meals that can have her family full for 5 whole months, collecting and discarding every foraged stuff she could get from her endless walks, riding her ilu further and further beyond the reef just to feel something.
being the oldest of the sully kids was tiring but even being a sister wasn't able to make her feel anything. it was much more numbing than it should be. it made her distant from them.
lo'ak couldn't meet y/n in her eyes. it was like if they looked at each other, the walls they both built would crumble the second their gazes meet. it was like strangers being forced to get to know each other after knowing the horrible crimes they both did.
kiri was very concerned for her older sister. y/n exerts her energy beyond her capacity, does dangerous explorations beyond the reef, and sometimes come back with cuts and bruises, and how she would skip meals to finish all the projects she 'needs' to weave. she was overworking herself and in the 3 months y/n was busy, she had fainted countless times eventually norm and max were called when it kept happening.
tuk missed her big sister so much. she missed collecting pearls by the shore and being carried around while exploring the forest. she was scared at how y/n looked now. from once being a bubbly young adult who was curious and eager to learn something new to a drained-out, almost dead-looking na'vi who would kill people if she saw them looking at her weirdly.
if the three were concerned, imagine how her parents feel. it hurt jake and neytiri to see their oldest overwork herself to distract whatever she was feeling. jake knew how it felt like and he wanted to help his daughter badly. but each time he tried to talk to her, y/n would push him away further and further. she even hissed at him to make her point.
neytiri was angry and concerned. why was her daughter pushing her own mother away when all she wanted to do was help? y/n shouldn't push her away because as her mother, neytiri understands her more than y/n knows, or at least that's what she likes to think.
it was like y/n became a stranger that the sully's just allowed to stay in their home.
Tumblr media
when y/n was fishing for dinner, her mind had been wandering elsewhere. her eyes stared down at the net she held as dread slowly filled her mind. it was like her sight was enlarging in front of her until she hears a distorted voice call out her name. "y/n."
she pulled away from her trance, eyes widening as her breathing became slightly erratic. y/n breathed in deeply through her nose and out through her mouth before her attention went to ao'nung, or what looked like ao'nung by the shore.
"hey there! just a quick update. tsireya is still swimming with the ikrans, who were gliding through the mountains on their bellies, then they ate an eye of a seaweed. now, the ilus and tulkans are fighting for some reason." ao'nung said, he was far away from y/n but somehow she heard everything clearly.
"oh… wow…" y/n says, clearly not understanding a single thing from what the metkayina had just said.
"how's your existential crisis coming along?" he asked so nonchalantly.
y/n was bewildered to say the least. this was the longest time she had held a conversation for how many months now.
"uh… fine?" she answered back but it sounded more like a question. "good!" ao'nung exclaimed back before turning around to leave when,
"ao'nung!" y/n immediately called for him, who turned back around to look. "can… can dreams also have memories?" that sounded wrong. "i mean, can you still have dreams even when you're dreaming?"
"oh, y/n. what else are memories if not dreams themselves?" ao'nung replies, not making as much sense as the question she asked.
"what–" "alright then, more soon!" ao'nung cuts her off before running off to eywa knows where.
y/n was left once again with her thoughts. she turns back to the net she was holding, only for it to be gone. this confused her and when she turned back to where the shore was, the next thing she knew, she was sitting on a giant rock.
"do you blame yourself?" the same distorted voice that called out her name earlier asked. distress filled her veins as she looked to where she heard the voice.
y/n's eyebrows furrowed. "what?" she asked. she saw herself, an exact copy of herself wearing human clothes that norm and max wear with a pen and paper held in her hands.
"well, it's quite common in this situation for a patient to feel a kind of guilt." her copy said, voice distorting more and more.
y/n's mind was in turmoil. "what situation?" she asked. the same dread she was feeling came into full force. her chest became heavy as it caused her to not breathe well.
her copy had this concerned look but the smallest of a smirk appeared on her lips, the following words leaving the copy's mouth. "the accident."
that's when y/n was transported back to the day neteyam had died.
she was there when he was shot through the chest. she knew the bullet was meant for her but he pushed her away and in turn, the faith of death fell upon him.
while the rest of her family had cried, she didn't. instead, she felt numb and angry. no other emotions filled her body except these two. it had helped her kill some sky people and some avatars when she came back to save kiri with her parents but after that, all y/n felt was numbness.
the heavy routine she placed upon herself became the only thing that made her feel something through the numbness she felt. it wasn't enough but at least it was something.
the same distorted voice came back. "it's very common for people to invent blame or create a causality" then the voice became normal in an abrupt manner, and her surroundings turned to norm's lab where he used his avatar and where they were able to breathe normally. "when in reality, it was completely out of your control." norm's voice was soft as he talked to the young na'vi in front of him, who in turn was staring off through the distance.
the forest where she and neteyam grew up, only for her brother to never come back home.

Naruto is my Roman Empire and I’ve been reading MadaTobi fanfics so these r my Founders Thoughts that nobody asked for:
- Tobirama had a crush on Madara and it PISSED HIM OFF like they def had hate sex at one point LMAO
- they literally worked together ur rlly gonna tell me they didn’t have SOME moments of civility btwn them?? (lowkey that’s wild tho having to see ur brother’s murderer everyday at work-I like Tobi but I’m just sayin)
I WANT A WORKPLACE SITCOM WITH THE FOUNDERS SJSKKSKS:
- Tobi doing experiments and scaring the villagers
- Tobi teaming up with Madara to make Hashi do work
- Hashi making flowers w/government documents
- Mito sipping tea while encouraging Tobi to revive the dead
- everyone in the Tower side eying the sexual tension btwn Madara and Tobi and them never denying they’ve fucked before
- Toka cackling in the background
- Hikaku spraying water at Madara like a cat every time he throws a temper tantrum
- Kagami popping in to make sure his clan head doesn’t kill his teacher PERFECT SITCOM MATERIAL
- totally personal preference: Naruto should’ve had more BLOOD AND GORE. I wanna see the grittiness and horror the shinobi world actually is and how revolutionary Naruto as a character is by choosing peace over violence. The only time we get that is Obito vs Kiri nin, Uchiha Massacre, Wave Arc, Orochimaru…before it turns into DBZ fights
I’ve said this before: Sasuke was in a seinen Naruto was in a shounen
- the warring states is literally the perfect place for exhibiting the horrors of war and humanity. Bloodline thieves, child hunting squads, GIVE. IT. TO. ME. Madara and Hashirama experiencing all of this and wanting PEACE FOR THEIR YOUNGER BROTHERS UGHHH ROBBERY‼️‼️
SORRY TW IMPLIED SA !!:
I HC that bloodline thieves is prob why Madara wears gloves….being a YOUNG (he’s been on the battlefield since he was 8??) powerful, prodigy and future clan head of a famous kekkai genkai it makes sense why he doesn’t like skin-contact/sexual repression and repulsion. And why we don’t see female Uchiha shinobi (excluding misogyny) simply bc there’s such a high risk of SA in this era
Moving on:
- Tobi and Izuna were jealous of how their brothers were being taken away. It goes past the senju/uchiha rivalry like they were just kids and were plain jealous.
- Madara and hashirama def share 1 brain cell LOLLL. Like they’re besties for a reason, Madara acts likes he smarter but nah he’s as much of an idiot as Hashi is. They’re both dreamers let these boys live and skip rocks together!!! 😭😭
- let’s be honest: Tobi built the village. Mans was doing ALL the logistics and infrastructure
- tobirama is soooo second son/eldest daughter coded it’s not even funny. The SPARE, serious and emotionless bc he needed to always clean up after his siblings, DUTIFUL, prob has a praise kink etc.
- Madara is an eldest daughter who also prob has a praise kink and touch starved
- NONE of the founders r well adjusted like they went from spending everyday of their lives at war to tryin bring peace and start essentially a ninja-revolution (PLS GO TO THERAPY)
- madara was just the most open about it: being isolated and feared by his own clan BC he was powerful, trying advocate for the village and peace, all while grieving for his last brother…yeah it makes sense y he went crazy or at least wanted to leave (fuck Kishimoto for that Kaguya bs and fuck Zetsu)
- I don’t actually believe he was trying destroy the village idkkk. I think he was trying to do an SNS aka using fighting as a way to communicate with Hashirama and well…yIkEs
- tobirama is 1000% unadjusted: mans literally created a Justu to revive the dead. You cannot tell me that doesn’t REEK of desperation and loneliness. He’s lit rally the OG mad scientist
- hashirama rlly thought sealing the Bijuu and giving them to each village was a good idea….sir WHO TF GIVES NUCLEAR WEAPONS TO SHINOBI???!! 😳😳
- I think hashirama and naruto lowkey can be summed up as: a powerful idealist. Which is a very dangerous combination. Take that how you will especially considering how shinobi thrive off of violence….it kinda makes sense how we ended up with canon Naruto
- Madara has a god complex and knows it. Hashirama has a god-complex and doesn’t know it. (God of Shinobi title def got to him and understandable)
- the founders failed and they know it. But I also kinda love it?? They’re so flawed and human as leaders and you can see how their mistakes drag into Canon Naruto. It also makes me so sad knowing that Konoha was built to prevent child soldiers and give protection only for it to actually be WORSE (Kakashi ITACHI SANNIN ik for a fact it must’ve hurt Hashi to know ur own granddaughter left the village)
Uchiha are: love is the death of duty while the Senju are: duty is the death of love and neither of them will forgive each other for picking one over the other‼️‼️‼️
- proving this ^^ w/Hashirama’s weird af characterization: aka him being a loveable idiot but at the same time CONGRATULATING Itachi for killing his own clan for Konoha…. I feel like that rlly showed me how much of a war veteran/shinobi Hashirama actually is and how he will always pick duty
- we were ROBBED of baby Kagami/hokage Kagami 😤😤😤 I’m sorry Kagami should’ve been made Hokage it just makes sense personality wise and politically wise. The only way I could see him not take it is bc he needed to be a clan leader/placate the Uchiha/help Hikaku.
- I wanna see him process the loss of his clan leader, teacher, and eventually friends to a point where Danzo takes his eyes
- everyone on Team Tobirama had a crush on Kagami at one point
- one of my fav HC: Tobi and Madara co-parenting Kagami. There’s no way Madara didn’t check up on Kagami being taught by THE senju which makes his defection hit harder for Kagami 😭😭
- BABY SANNIN ‼️‼️‼️ Tsunade was old enough to meet and remember Hashirama it makes sense that Oro and Jiraiya meet the founders
- omg could u imagine being Edo Tensei Hashirama?? Ur granddaughter’s weird friend revives u using the Jutsu ur brother invented that you specifically FORBID 😭😭
- Hashi and Tobi staring at Orochimaru like “you look familiar???” IT HAS SO MUCH COMEDIC POTENTIAL
- Mito revolutionized female shinobi like she’s def the reason ppl realized that girls can fight (Senju Toka was an exception) STAN MITO 🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️
- Mito pulled a Tsunade and mentally yeeted out of Konoha after Hashi and Tobi died. Bc the way we NEVER hear about her and Hiruzen interacting except for Kushina, even tho she’s literally RELATED to the other 2 hokages….ROBBED 😵‍💫
- I HC: she was dealing w/grief (the fall of Uzushio made it worse) and she was lowkey pushed out of the council by Danzo FUCK DANZO
- I love the idea of Mito wooing for Hashirama’s hand/politically smart Mito!! It was a political marriage that grew into love. There’s no way she DIDNT suspect an attack on Uzushio lik it’s literally an island w/Kiri as it’s neighbours….Konoha gets recognition and stability while Uzushio importantly gets mainland allies
- Mito tops btw she’s def pegged Hashi before 🫢
- if Madara or Hashi had sisters/born women they would’ve def had a marriage to solidify their alliance. This makes Japanese homophobia not make sense esp in the shinobi world bc their clans trusted each other w/o backup like marriage?? Idk I’m just kinda confused y it was never even brought up for an alliance…
*cue MadaTobi arranged marriage au 100k, enemies to lovers, slowburn*
- also to dude bros homophobia has no place in the Naruto world (and IRL BTW) outside of making heirs. They’re literally MERCENARIES You telling me Kakashi has never fucked another man for information before??? Pls be serious I’m begging y’all 🙃🙃🙃
- there’s def family drama amongst the senju!! Idk I feel like Hashirama and Tobirama have the relationship of: “they love each other but don’t like each other” which makes Madara’s inclusion even worse for the brothers’ relationship. Like they def always had each other’s backs but never actually felt like they understood each other.
- I wish more fanfics/canon covered the shinobi-civilian politics more (I love politics lol give me world-building kishimoto 😤)
- Civilians hold power. THEY have all the MONEY to pay shinobi
- I’ve rlly only seen 1 fanfic that involves the Fire Daimyo during the Warring States Era (Into the Wide Blue Yonder it’s a KakaSasu Time travel fic that actually ✨works✨ 12/10 recommend) but it’s true.
Wtf is the Fire Daimyo doing during this era??? Why is he being so placate about Senju/Uchiha war unless he just sees it as entertainment?? How have shinobi NOT fought against rich civilian politicians before?? (Introducing Maoism to the naruto world lol 🤔🤔)
- Kishimoto curse ur goldfish brain….
- the uchiha and senju were def broke in this era, LMAO especially the Uchiha and I mean resource wise. War is EXPENSIVE the Uchiha don’t have Hashirama and Mokutan, they couldn’t just grow food whenever they wanted. It makes total sense that they would agree to a ceasefire just to prevent STARVATION
- once again…. robbed in terms of seeing the aftermath and devastation of war and learning how to live in a morally grey, politically unstable, resource limited world which could’ve brought in the ultimate themes of peace and the cycle of violence, and the question of if violence and war is ever justified, but…..no ❤️

Avatar Modern AU Headcanons: The Early Years
Spider was adopted into the family after Neytiri found him wandering around the neighborhood as a toddler in just a t-shirt and underwear on one of the coldest days of the year. She immediately went to the police station and within a week Spider was removed from the McCoskers and was taken in by the Sullys as his foster family.
Jake and Neytiri have it ROUGH for a couple years - four kids under four? Eywa have mercy.
Listen. It is inevitable that little kids have a favorite parent, but the Sully kids are a little extreme with their hardcore Mom Favoritism™️. Neteyam can only fall asleep if Neytiri sings to him. Kiri doesn’t like Jake reading their bedtime stories because “mama does the voices better.” If Spider gets hurt he is inconsolable until Neytiri kisses it better. Lo’ak throws a tantrum for at least an hour every time Neytiri leaves them with Jake. My dude is being bullied mercilessly by kids who can’t even spell their names yet.
I fully support @be-the-glenn-to-my-maggie’s headcanon that Jake and Lo’ak are mortal enemies until Lo’ak hits about 5. But like, in a Megamind kinda way.
Whenever Lo’ak is acting up Jake pretends to call Santa and tell him to put Lo’ak on the naughty list.
Lo’ak will tell other adults the most embarrassing shit about Jake in the worst circumstances.
When Lo’ak is two and realizes his parents have names other than mama and daddy, he calls Jake by his first name only for three months. Imagine trying to discipline your two-year old and he whips out the first name.
In retaliation, Jake refers to Lo’ak as “the brat attack” until Neytiri reminds him that he’s the adult in this situation. He still does it sometimes when Neytiri isn’t around.
Neytiri has the mom reflexes of a god. No ER trips on her watch.
In fact, the first ER visit for the Sullys was when Neytiri left the kids with Jake to go shopping with Mo’at for some baby stuff while she was pregnant with Tuk. They don’t even make it down the street before Jake is frantically calling about Spider splitting his head open on the edge of the coffee table.
Spider is the most accident prone of the kids not due to clumsiness but a serious lack of survival skills and critical thinking. He used to throw himself off the top of the bunk bed he shared with Lo’ak just for fun.
Spider is technically the oldest, but due to the McCosker’s neglect he has some developmental delays and regressive behavior. Neteyam loves being able to act like a big brother for Spider even though he’s a year younger. They have a rough patch when they’re a bit older and Spider starts to assert himself more, but at the end of the day they’re Team Eldest and lean on each other a lot.
Kiri was a leash kid. Jake thought it was embarrassing but Neytiri could no take another incident of Kiri disappearing in public because she saw something interesting and wandered off to investigate.
Bluey is a staple in the Sully household. Jake and Neytiri are just happy that the chokehold Paw Patrol had on their kids seems to have gone away. Plus, now whenever they’re mean to each other, they just have to ask, “would Bluey and Bingo treat each other like this?” It results in an instant apology 99% of the time.
They talk back to their kids babble like it’s the most interesting thing in the world. Neytiri has full-on soap opera plots. The kids find it hilarious.
Jake, at the end of the day, is a military dad. And that means it’s MMA every day in the Sully household, starting young. He’ll suplex them into the couch, throw them onto the bed from across the room, toss them so high in the air he sees the bottom of their feet. Neytiri at first hates it, but she sees how gentle Jake is and tries to let it go. Even if it gives her heart palpitations.
Neteyam’s first word was “dada”, Kiri’s “mama”, and Lo’ak’s “no”. Spider’s speech was severely delayed and it took half a year of speech therapy to get him where he needed to be developmentally, so there’s was hot competition between Jake and Neytiri over who would get his first word.
It’s neither of them. Spider’s first word was “Teyam”. Even when they’re older Neteyam lords it over Spider’s head (but if he thinks too much about it it’ll make him cry, he just loves his brother so much).
I def have more of these percolating in my brain, but for now, enjoy!

Chapter desc:
Kiri convinced y/n to unload some of her lingering feelings for Neteyam. Y/n reveals that the incident all those years ago that took her parents scarred her deeper than she could have ever anticipated. Is this a battle the mighty archer can’t win? Neteyam has a confrontation with a pathetically simpering Kyuna.
Authors note:
Here we go! Chapter 3!! It feels insane to be posting the actual third  chapter of this. But holy moly, building up romance is much harder than I thought. This chapter is a long one so grab your favorite snack, find a comfy spot and buckle up.
I have a small request for my lovely virago readers, please comment on your favorite line, moment, quote, or dynamic from this chapter. This is so I can know what kind of stuff you guys incline towards so I can throw more of it in as the story continues.
IMPORTANT:
hi guys. So I’ve decided to change spiders age from 20 to 19 for plot purposes. Jake and Neytiri are the same age. Tuk is still 7. Kiri is 19, neteyam is 19, Lo’ak and Y/n are 18.
This chapter is split into 3 parts due to tumblers dumbass word limit. This is part 1.
                                                                   V I R A G O
Chapter 3;
Cupid Wears A Blindfold.
Y/n’s pov-
Word count: 28k (split)
Lo’ak snores. He snores a lot.
This was no epiphany to you, of course. Lo’ak had always been a snorer, much like Jake.
Ever since the sully’s welcomed you into their home when moving to high camp, sleeping arrangements were always abit of a puzzle.
Tuk often slept in all sorts of weird positions. Often rustling and twitching in her sleep. Some nights she nestles her way in between Jake and Neytiri, the poor couple waking up to an elbow jabbing into their skin.
Kiri was your second best option. She didn’t toss or turn, she didn’t kick or jab or roll. Your only deterrent? Kiri mumbled. Oftentimes talking in her sleep to some soft sung spirit she felt within her own solace, her own safety, her own world.
This never found itself to be a disturbance for you. You didn’t mind the mumbling. Kiri however, claimed ‘she loved you too much to keep you up at night’, and wouldn’t hear a word of it when you tried to convince her that it didn’t bother you.
But it wasn't completely in favor of your sleep schedule. Kiri liked her privacy. And you knew that. Better than most, actually. But that’s what was special about your bond with Kiri. You didn’t need words to understand her. And she loved you for it.
I don’t think I need to explain why sharing a hammock with Jake and Neytiri seemed out of the question.
And though most nights it seemed tempting, sleeping with Neteyam was a no-go.
And here you laid. Staring at the ceiling of the Sully family’s tented Marui home, while everyone slept, you damned yourself restless.
Lo’ak kept snoring in your ear, his breath hitting your neck.
His arm lazily thrown above both your heads, his leg sprawled across your shins. You huffed, attempting to turn the opposite way. The uneven weight caused the tent to dip unanticipatedly, causing you to gasp. Your hand reaches towards the wall to steady the motion, and to prevent you and lo’ak from falling.
You squeezed your eyes shut, taking a breath before shifting yourself evenly again, and Lo’ak continued to snore, his tail now poking your hip.
Your ears perked up at the sound of a soft rustling, and a gentle yawn.
“Y/n?”
You turn your head, seeing a sleepy Kiri blink at you slowly, her bright golden eyes adjusting to the light.
“What’re you doing up?”
She rested on her elbows, elevating herself a bit to see you more clearly.
You sighed, glancing back at Lo’ak.
“Oh. You know. Just doing a little late night praying. Praying that eywa will take me before his snoring does.”
Your blank tone made Kiri giggle, stifling her laughs with her palm.
“Oh trust me. I've shared a tent with him longer than you have.”
Silence draws between you both as your quiet chuckles slowly start to simmer away under the dark tent top.
Kiri sits up slightly, gesturing with one hand for you to come closer.
You shake your head, hesitantly treading her offer. You knew how kiri liked her distance.
“I don’t want to be a bother.”
“You? A bother? Y/n, you’re probably the person in this entire tent that bothers me the least.”
You crack a smile, huffing out a small sigh of defeat.
You slip out of your hammock, slithering your way over small objects that became obstacles on the floor with stealthy yet lethargic motions. of the family’s home before successfully snuggling under the blanket of kiri’s larger hammock. Now comfortable without the cramped positioning.
She chuckled, rubbing your back.
“Comfy?”
You nod, smiling at her.
“You're a lifesaver, Kiri. My hero.”
She ruffles your braids, winking.
“Nah. If anything, you are my hero.”
Kiri and you have always been close, ever since you were children. Your mother and Neytiri were practically attached at the hip, and since you, spider, and lo’ak were always a package deal, you and kiri had grown up playing together.
Kiri was softer spoken as a child, and you were loud and energetic. Your mother always said you were an ocean, and kiri was a lake. You, a soul syncing with the vigorous symphonies of azur-string reprised tidelines and honey-hidden siren songs. The ocean forgives, but it never forgets. Its strength is unmeasured. It waits for nothing.
Kiri was a lake. Lush green ripened grass sits along yellowed-tinted sun hazed stems of oddly-shaped wildflowers and imperfect patterns imprinted on petals. She was calm in the still moving water. You were the strength of the sea.
You always felt protective over Kiri.
A part of you couldn't help it. The day you and Kiri grew closer was the same day Jake had to meet with the Olo’eyktan of the Tawkami clan. The day the Chief’s children were teasing Kiri about her fingers. You and Kiri were about 8 at the time, and she really only saw you play around the village or carrying spider on your back as you trailed behind your mother and her daily chores. Or when your mom walked Lo’ak back to his family’s hut the morning after a sleepover with you and spider.
The day the Tawkami Chief’s children that accompanied him were picking and poking at Kiri’s fingers.
And where were you? Right there beside her. Threatening to feed the children to your mother’s ikran and telling them that your human brother would come and give them his demon blood “diseases” if they didn’t leave her alone.
They stopped picking on her, and she stuck by you from then on. Cause no one knew how to better handle bitchy 9 year olds than you did.
Kiri yawns, gently rolling on her side.
“Get some sleep, Y/n.”
You mumbled an ‘mhm’ before letting your eyes drift shut.
Its been about 15 minutes and sleep still evades you. The comforting vibrations of kiri’s warmth doesn’t seem to lull you like you assumed it would.
“Are you awake?”
Kiri whispered, and it startled you a bit. You assumed she was asleep.
You turned to face her and nodded. Her yellow eyes glowing evergreen tints in the darkness.
“Yes. But don’t let me keep you from sleeping, Kiri.”
She shrugs.
“I can’t sleep either.”
You both stay quiet for a moment, letting the silence settle.
“So, Makeyo spoke with you today?”
The same uneasy feeling returns once again, you blink at Kiri.
You shook your head, your voice quiet as if not to disturb the air around you two.
“We were just talking.”
“About?”
Her whisper courses against the flicker of change in the wind.
You stay quiet once again. Not because its awkward, or uncomfortable.
Sometimes, you felt like there was a shackle chained to your wrist.
The memory of your parents still haunts you.
It shaded you in its prison of night, torturing you to watch the sunlight, but never touch it.
You didn’t love anyone.
And yet, whenever someone offered you their hand, it felt like a trap.
A mockery of betrayal climbs your conscience. It's a hue of warm yellow, drenched in crimson and an agonizing black.
Jake told you that back on earth, he fought with other humans in a war that seemed like it would never end.
Sometimes people come out of bloody experiences constantly trying to wash their body because the smell of blood never leaves their nose.
Jake said it haunts you. Like a ghost. Some of the men he met would wake up screaming in the middle of the night. They wouldn’t laugh as much. Smile as much. What once was a comfort was now a cold, daunting piece of lost memories.
It's everywhere. And it hurts. What hurts most is that you  can't protect yourself from it. Your arrows cannot pierce it. your hands cannot fight it away.
It’s real in some uncanny sense of a nauseating nostalgia. The type of memory that makes you thin your eyes because it's too bright.
An invisible devotion, it holds you above its disposal.
It keeps you away from falling in love. From holding someone's hand. From laughing at another’s jokes.
Sometimes you hate what you are. What  you’re made out of. Because your soul constantly fights to build yourself out of ripped pieces of the past.
Because all you ever hear is whispers about where that happy little girl went. The girl who chased sun-dripped river banks with the symphony of children’s laughter.
This pain follows you.
When you wake from your nightmare’s it’ll sit in the corner. Watching you.
When someone flirts with you, touches your shoulder, brushes a strand of hair out of your face, it’ll be there.
What was the use of falling in love? As a child, you fantasized about having a love like your parents. So pure, so deep, so unexplainably perfect.
Only for them to die because of something you couldn't protect them from.
It’s not that you feared death. You feared the instantaneousness of it.
The unforeseen figment of a shape only for it to reveal itself to be a scythe.
They didn’t know it would happen, and neither did you.
And you weren’t fucking there. And now they are gone.
Never getting to watch you or spider grow to be full adults.
Leaving their children without so much as a goodbye.
Your only true goal was to die honorably on the battlefield. If you couldn’t find peace, maybe your ghost could.
Love was a weakness.
And when you fall in love, the shell of that pain will disguise itself under their soul.
You  shrugged, your eyes averting away from Kiri. There's disconnected fatigue in your tone.
“He was nice.”
“Just nice?”
Kiri raises her eyebrow, scooting a bit closer to you.
You  sighed, unsure of how to carry on this conversation. So you’re grateful when she does it for you.
“He’s a good guy. I've seen him help you teach the younger kids. They love him, always trying to climb on his back and asking him to carry them around.”
You nod.
“He’s a good teacher..”
you trail off, fidgeting with one of
Your  bracelets. The one tuk made you, the one with mismatched bead sizes and colors. Juvenile plotted patterns in the small vibrant hues.
Kiri snickers.
“He might have to get in line with all your other eager suitors.”
you roll your eyes, poking her with your tail.
It wasn't unusual that Kiri teased you about getting attention.
Lo’ak’s friends sometimes whisper, quietly laughing and shoving each other as you walk by. It becomes hard not to notice as it becomes a frequent pattern.
Sometimes the guys in the hunting party Neteyam was often in, gently tapped each other on the shoulder, more subtly gesturing as you walked around camp or left for a ride, or even just helped with daily chores.
Their attempts usually deem themself futureless when Spider and Lo’ak glare at them, shoo them away the same way you would a pestering flock of birds.
Its a normality. Though spider was only a year older than you, he policed your love life just the same as any older sibling would. He didn't care that you were taller, stronger, bigger than him.
You scoffed.
“They’ll have to get through dumb and dumber first.”
Kiri huffed, annoyed with the two idiots in question.
“Don’t trust their judgment. They share one singular brain cell and it malfunctions half the time.”
The both of you laugh, trying to keep quiet. You bury your face in Kiris shoulder as the hammock shakes with your giggles.
You both sigh after a moment, still smiling.
“I can’t blame them.  You’re perfect.”
She whispered.
There's a withering sense of somber behind her voice. It lacked bitterness, but it simmered on a ember, an ephemeral flicker of blue. The sounds of sloshed ash-blue sunsets and burnt-orange auras.
“I am not.”
You mumbled.
Kiri looked up at the top of the tented-hut. The small sparks of comforting vibrations from your bodies nuzzled under the woven blanket that allows only the softest of shivers to seize past the fabric.
“You remind me of my mother. The stories of her in her youth. The perfect woman. Strong, admired, sought out by many, envied by most..”
She trailed off.
If only kiri knew you didn’t feel like that at all.
“You’re my idea of perfection, Kiri.”
She scoffs and rolls her eyes.
Kiri was pretty. You had to remind her of that sometimes. The way her golden eyes shined under a sheet of jaded-glowing evergreen, that of a hued green in a canvassed jungle canopy. Her uneven, choppy, imperfectly, perfectly shaped bangs that fell over her forehead, gentle wisps of dark feathered thick strands.
Kiri’s hair was slightly lighter than most na’vi women. You loved that about her, the almost dark auburn shades of brown that hollowed in chalked streaks of a honeyed glow, proving herself her biological mother’s daughter.
But the one thing you adored most about Kiri?
Her love for Eywa.
You could only envy it.
After the death of your mother, your once undying devotion for the great mother started to rot. You felt like she had failed you. Taken away the most precious piece of your soul and damned her name for tearing you apart and leaving you to pick up the pieces.
You were angry those first few months, and you think differently now. But your breath still shallows at the thought.
Your smiles fade, and the air around you feels hollow for a moment.
“I wish i could see through your eyes, kiri.”
Kiri squeezed your hand, gently holding it to her chest.
“I know you’ve been hurt, Y/n. I know this pain is great..But the great mother has a plan for you. I believe it above all else. You are strong. Stronger than any spirit she has seen…You bring the wailing ash and fire of the demon ships to pity with just your arrowhead. We will heal together, y/n. I will teach you to find your faith again.”
You let your eyes flutter closed.
Your beautiful, sweet Kiri. This wasn’t romance. This was sisterly love in its purest form.
“..Do you ever think about him?”
The question stills you, you looked up at her and blink.
“Who?”
“My brother.”
The comforting warmth suddenly becomes a sweltering heave of heat. You swallow thickly, looking down.
“No.”
Kiri shakes her head.
“Please. Don’t lie to me, Y/n.”
There it is again, the hole in your heart.
“Yes. I think of him sometimes.”
Silence settles again.
“Is it wrong?”
You whisper.
Kiri shakes her head.
“No. its just that he doesn't deserve to live in your mind.”
Kiri loves her older brother. She truly does. But she was right beside you when he drifted away. Even ignoring him because she was angry with how he had treated you.
You squeezed your eyes shut for a moment, cupping her hand in yours.
“I hate it.”
“Hate what?”
“How i feel like a piece of me is missing.”
Kiri’s eyes soften.
“Oh y/n…”
“No.”
Your voice breaks only slightly.
“No. because im better now.
I hated him. I hated his hands. I hated his voice. I hated his back. I hated his arms. I hated his neck. I hated his nose. I hated his ears. I hated when he promised to protect me, I hated when he left me crying in the rain. I hated that I waited for him. I hated that he promised all the stars in the sky were mine. I hated him.
I don’t hate him anymore. I hate the delusions of himself he put inside my head.
I hate how he weakened me.”
Kiri gently brushed some of your braids behind your shoulder
“Heartbreak doesn’t make you weak. If anything, it shows we had something inside of us so beautiful and rare it was worth mourning.”
You blinked back the fresh sting in your eyes. Taking a shaky breath.
“Oh my dear.”
Kiri whispered, hugging you close.
“Get some rest. You don’t need to think about anything right now, I promise.”
You nodded.
“Yeah. yeah okay.”
“You know what? In the morning let’s go bother norm for a bit. Would that make you feel better?”
You chuckled, hugging her back before you both settled in respective places in her hammock.
“It always does,”
Sleep soon found you, taking you in its arms and soothing the sweet darkness.
Across the tent, Neteyam laid awake, his hands clutching a blanket of his own, his body still tensed after what he had just heard.

The next day.
You liked hunting with Jake.
It was high on your list of some of the chores you enjoyed contributing with your new found life in high camp living with the sullies.
Spending time with jake was a bonus. Jake and your family went way back. Your mother was one of the only navi that welcomed him upon his unexpected arrival. She was the one who lended him an older loincloth for him to wear that first night he was captured and the omaticaya took away his RDA uniform, and while he had his first ever meal with the clan at high camp.
Your mother also played a huge role in his journey to become a man of the omaticaya people.
Teaching him things like weaving, beading, and some of the language along with Neytiri.
Your mother was the one who constantly pestered neytiri about her growing feelings for the dreamwalker, helping her unbraid her hair for the nights he spent with jake, letting her cry, laugh, scream, like any good sister would.
Your mother and Neytiri mourned sylwanin together. And your mother grew closer with Mo’at and eytukan as mentors as well, despite neytiri and your mother not being sisters by blood, they loved each other just the same.
Jake and you had a good relationship. Jake often helped train the younger warriors, neteyam, you and lo’ak included.
You were always the fastest, the strongest out of the group, since you were 15.
Jake remembers when you were small. Carrying spider around and chasing lo’ak, bringing gifts to baby tuk, playing in the flower patches with neteyam and making him wear the bracelets and crowns you would braid out the stemmed petals.
Jake was there with you when your parents died, and he ws there when you moved into highcamp with the sully family.
He was there when you had nightmares and woke up in the middle of the night screaming,
You remember those nights, when the images of your mothers body would rip you from your sleep and you’d almost shake poor lo’ak out of the shared hammock with your sobbing and pleading.
You remember jake rushing to you, gently holding you by your shoulders, gently utting your head to his chest.
‘Sweetheart hey- hey i’m here. Mawey, Mawey..easy- easy…there we go. Deep breaths..’
The hoarse tiredness in his voice as oddly comforting.
You remember shaking your head, settling yur breathing as the tears began to flow.
“I-i’m sorry..it was just another bad dream.”
“Hey. never apologize for having a nightmare. You’re okay. You’re safe here. Okay? C’mon. Let's take a walk-that’ll calm you down.”
You trusted jake. You always have. Even today, in the present. So of course you liked hunting with him.
But most of all? You loved flying.
Your ikran was your spirit brother, sometimes even following your commands without tsaheylu.
The bond you had was strong, stronger than most ikran’s are capable of.
And the best part? He had a temper just like you did. The first time you almost met death was your iknimiya.
Your ikran threw you off the cliff, and then flew down to attack you further.
Jake and Neytiri had to hold Neteyam back from swooping into save you.
But you did it. You completed your rite and claimed Kailo as your own.
And you soared with him now, above the clouds, barely containing the smile etched on your face as the wind whips through your braids.
You loved heights. You loved how infinitely endless the sky seemed, burning with blasts of azure or an early morning blaze of fire-hued sunrises, or the cold warmth of the rain that refused to fall within the stars.
Revered by the scattered songs of synodic vespers and requiems of rainstorms. The sky cannot be caged. It cannot be concealed or hidden, it is your sanctuary, enraptured by effortless divinity and strength.
Your ikran let out a shrill and you pet its neck.
“Easy, Kailo..”
You hummed, looking over to jake, who sat atop his own companion, Bob. His dreads caught in the wind behind him as he waved for your attention.
“y/n!”
The wind carried his volume.
“I think we should take a break. In an hour or two the yerik herds will come to the river bank. Let’s law low in the woods.”
“Yes sir.”
You gently kicked Kailos' side, tilting the reins to descend after Jake into the forest, weaving around trees and foliage.
You laugh as a gust of wind trails you and Kailo, almost throwing Jake off his line of flight. Kailo was one of the fastest ikran your clan had ever seen. At least, that’s what the elders of the clan had told you.
Lo’ak was often jealous of spider because spider always got free rides on Kailo. You land before Jake, hopping off Kailo’s back and petting his neck.
“Mawey, tsmukan”
(calm, brother.)
Jake landed after you, the sound of ikran wings announcing his arrival. He climbed down right after you, patting the neck of his own Ikran, bob.
Jake spotted some Yovo fruit trees up ahead, cutting you both down a few as you both sat down on some rocks for  snack break.
Jake leaned back, handing you a half of his own fruit as you muttered a small thank you.
His eyes wandered, as he glanced up at the trees, as if his gaze had become conscious of every shape and sound that surrounded him.
“I remember this place.”
Jake uttered in a soft hum in the air, his line of sight tracing around the figment of  nostalgic fixation in the air.
You raised an eyebrow, munching on your fruit.
“Here? At this spot?”
Jake nods, nudging your shoulder with his knuckles. Pointing to the source of the sound of trickling water.
“The pond. Back when I was training for iknimaya. Way before your time.”
He smirked, as if it was something to brag about.
You rolled your eyes,
“Oh goody. Another one of grandpa's war stories.”
Jake chucked a Yovo fruit at your head but you caught it effortlessly, not even glancing.
“I’m not that old.” he huffs, clearly impressed at your  heightened reflexes.
You chuckled, flipping your knife in your hand to withdraw it from its place in the sheath on your hip to cut open the fruit.
“Can’t move it like you used to, huh pops?”
“You know, I could have you banished.”
“Than who would save Lo’ak next time he wants to play tag with a thanator?”
Jake ruffled your braids in response to your surmise, clearly holding back a smile.
“Where would I be without ya, kid?”
You shrugged, handing him another half of the freshly cut fruit.
“Probably in one of those healing homes back on earth.”
“You mean nursing homes.”
“Same thing.”
Jake shook his head, letting out a sigh, knowing it was probably spider who taught you such a term.
He glanced around again, brushing in the scenery.
A silence commences between you both, the soft shrills and distant flap of wings within the deep jungle is the only sound that demands attention.
Jake speaks softly, breaking the silence with fragile, yet scrambled steps.
“She never fails to take my breath away.”
You look up at him, watching as he leaned back against the tree, letting his eyes flutter closed.
“Who?” you whisper.
“Pandora.”
He hums in response.
you often forgot Jake wasn’t from this planet. That his true home could only be seen as the sirius among scattered stars. What was it like? Seeing your home from below? The only thing worth touching is the implacable incarnation of your memories.
To hide what was left of yourself, a mere ghost that lingered in the wrinkled corners of your mind.
“What was it like..your home?”
You whispered.
Jake’s ears perk up, his eyes landing on you as he sat up slightly.
He stayed quiet for a moment. Staring up at the sky, his finger gently tracing one of the stripes on his leg as his gaze remained absent.
“It’s like living on a skeleton.”
When he finally speaks, it's quite literally the last thing you would have guessed he would say.
You raised your eyebrow.
“A skeleton..?”
He nodded.
“Earth is just a shell. Like the carcass of an animal. A corpse, almost.”
“I don’t understand.”
He nodded, scooting a bit closer to you, starting to speak again.
“Earth used to be beautiful. So many colors you couldn’t count them all.”
You nodded, trying to imagine the formless figment of a world in which you’ve never seen.
He closed his eyes, as if trying to remember.
“There was light, lots of it. The air, the sun, the stars…”
You blinked at him.
“What happened to it?”
Jake paused, something creeping behind the orbs of his irises. It's a sickening dark shade of a color he can’t remember, but its bitter aching bones are enough to weaken the courage of a once strong rhythmic heartbeat.
It’s a shadow of an echo. Gutted inside something hollow and carved out of shivering pulses running to a soured stillness.
“Humans will take until nothing is left. They will gawk at the lights of a stupid billboard instead of noticing the dying grass under their feet.”
What's a billboard?
You thought, but decided not to ask.
You stayed quiet, staring at the ground.
“That’s why they want this planet. Because they killed their old one.”
Jake nods, sighing almost regretfully.
“They think the na’vi is their greatest enemy, when really, the ones who have killed the most humans are…well, more humans.”
You can’t imagine it. Taking a life without regarding the soul you have soiled. Does the red on their hands not sting their eyes?
And that's when you realized it.
Death hummed shallowly in its own pulsating methods. But even the devil has an advocate.
You killed. You have killed many. And it doesn’t seem to register until that very moment. You never thought to count the number of raids you had accompanied your clan on, Jake appointed you as his main archer when you were only 15.
When rage and grief overshadowed the shallowness of sunlight all you wanted to do was avenge.
An untamed anger was born in you when your parents died. And you swore every arrow you ever shot was in their names.
Zensira.
Kai’lik.
Zensira.
Kai’lik.
How would they look at you now?
Their little girl. The little girl they loved. Their beautiful, beautiful precious girl who loved to hear her mother sing. Their little girl who loved to carry your big brother spider around, (because your big brother wasn’t so big compared to you.)
Who loved to visit the pond and play with lo’ak. Who liked to make bracelets with kiri and get thrown into the lake by your dad, tossing around your small body when you were 7 as you squealed through the freshwater air.
A killer.
“Y/n? Y/n. Hey, hey, what’s wrong?”
Jake placed a hand on your shoulder, but his touch felt cold.
Jake’s voice sounded like your head was under water. Blurred, distant sounds.
Your breath becomes shallow, but you weren’t hyperventilating. You were just…still.
What if you had failed them? What if they were watching you right now?
Knowing you had killed. Not hunted.
Hunting was for survival. To feed your family, your friends, your clan.
This was killing. This wasn’t a need. It was a want. A want for vengeance.
Were you even a na’vi at all? Killing without respect for life even if they were a human.
Your mother forgave. Your father forgot.
And what were you? A disgrace of everything they stood for.
Your voice came out like a whisper. Every thought and feeling swirling around in your head. Despite your silent panic, the air felt eerily calm, and almost mocking ambience.
“Did I disappoint them?”
Jake stilled for a moment, rubbing your back.
“Who?”
“All of them.”
“All of them?”
You swallowed thickly.
“Y/n..you know you can talk to me, right?”
You nodded, staying quiet for a moment as you stared down at your shaking hands.
“Am I a bad person?”
Jake’s eyes widen a bit for a moment, his hand slowly withdrawals from its place on your shoulder.
“Why would you think that?”
“Because sometimes I like the way pain feels.”
Something clicked for Jake at that moment.
Where you saw your hand bloodied by a manic anger and bones with regretful splintered scars, Jake saw a shadow. A shadow of a distressed consciousness that he once acquainted himself with.
Jake was no stranger to products of war. Even when those products were souls losing their vibrancy. The colors fading into hardened flesh.
Jake had seen war turn people into hollow shells. Unheard prayer scattered and dissipated under a blood-stained sky.
Jake finally spoke, but his words, slow and somber, treaded a steeper meaning.
“You aren’t a bad person, Y/n. You’ve been hurt. Hurt by people even eywa cannot forgive.”
You shook your head, the threat canvassed along perpetual doubts.
“I don’t know why I’m like this.”
You admitted.
Jake places his hand back on your shoulder again.
“Sometimes people like us, soldiers, we start to like the pain because we think it’s the only thing we'll ever deserve. But we don’t like it at all. Not really.”
You can almost see it. The stars are falling again. The tapestry thread being pulled mercilessly. The colors are falling. The sun is turning cold.
You had to catch them. You had to chase the colors or else they would abandon you again.
Your reflection seems distorted. Liquid glass in the taunting shape of a little girl.
A little girl who knew no bloodshed. No war. No pain. No anger.
You would never be that little girl again. And its all your fault. You wanted to kill someone after your parents died. You wanted to kill every single human that worked for the RDA or even set foot on their base.
It’s sick.
It’s wrong.
It’s vile.
But its you. This wreckage of scars and bruises, tattered tapestries and broken bird songs, its all you.
That all too familiar sting hit the back of your throat, you could feel your gaze numbing.
“I’m beyond fixing.”
You whispered.
“No one is beyond fixing.”
He promised.
“Can you take some deep breaths with me? Just a few, Y/n.”
You followed his instructions, and the red started to simmer away. The air felt forgiving once again, and your throat started to feel normal once again.
You spoke again finally, after a few moments of silence.
“Maybe I should have my na’vi card revoked.”
You chuckled dryly.
Jake patted your back. “You and me both, kiddo.”
“What you feel is normal.”
He added.
“That anger. That vengeance.”
You glanced up at him. “Na’vi are supposed to solve conflict peacefully first. War is just a last resort.”
Jake scoffed.
“I think we’ve reached the last resort awhile ago, Sweetheart.”
You went to speak, but were quickly cut off.
“y/n you are not some kind of psychopath. You don’t kill for no reason. You kill to protect. You fight because something dear to you is threatened, that's what makes a warrior true to their heart, their clan.”
His words eased your anxiety a bit. But the shadow behind the sun still creeped disguised under the warmth of forgiveness.
“I’m not a bad person. I don’t know why I want them to feel pain.”
You whispered.
Sometimes you wondered if pretending to be made out of stone means you’d still break like glass.
War was the type of calm that tranquilized. Drugged you into delusions of comfort.
Somewhere inside you was that little girl. She hates you. She hates you with all her heart.
Somewhere inside you is that 15 year old that’s waiting for neteyam in the rain you swear is just falling stars. She hates you. She hates you with all  her heart.
Somewhere inside you is your mothers daughter. Wondering who did this to you.
You didn’t like violence But you were prone to it.
You didn’t like war. But you're afraid of the day it no longer has a use for you.
War ruined you. Because war made you angry. And anger tortured you.
You weren’t deserving of sunlight, maybe that's why you familiarize yourself with the bleakness of dusk.
Maybe that’s why you loved Neteyam.
Maybe that’s why you hated yourself.
Maybe that’s why you’ve trained yourself with blood stains and tear tracks.
Your mother was forgiving. She adopted a human child after watching her family die, and hometree fall.
She devoted herself to eywa, a woman true to the kindness of her heart and the flame of forgiveness.
She had seen fire and escaped it.
You had seen fire and burned with it.
The shackles on your wrist. The burning in your throat.
You were a child forced into a warrior.
And maybe it was time to heal, but why didn’t it allow you?
This shadow oppressed you. And maybe this prolonged insanity was a good sanctuary to be understood, not severed. Your bones were made of seared iron, the fissure of a once porcelain excellence.
War had ruined you. And ruined things didn’t deserve to be loved.
Jake pulled you close to him, wrapping an arm around you, you leaned your head on his shoulder.
“You’re one of the fucking strongest people i know. You know that?”
He whispered, and the simplicity of his touch settled an almost agonizing comfort.
“Can you fix me?”
You whisper.
Jake shook his head.
“Y/n.  You are not something to be fixed. You need to be healed. And I know you can do it. And we’ll be right beside you the whole damn time.”
You let yourself close your eyes.
“You're a soldier, kid. Just like me. A fighter.  It’s all we think we know, all we think we’ll ever deserve. We swear to live and die on that battlefield.”
You nod.
“Sometimes it feels like the battlefield is the closest to home.”
Jake speaks once more,
“Until you find someone who feels a little closer.”
By the way he smiled softly, you knew he was talking about Neytiri.
You leaned further into his shoulder, and he patted your back.
“You know, back on earth, we have a special way of dealing with cases like these. Soidlers who need trauma relief.”
You blinked at him, immediately intrigued.
“You do? How?”
“Therapy.”
You tried the strange human word out on your tongue.
“Ther…ah…pey-
There-a-pay-”
“Therapy.”
Jake corrected gently.
“What’s that?” You asked, as Jake stood up, putting his knife back in his sheath.
“Its where you go to someone who can help you talk things out. Iv’e seen a few back in my days. Military psychologists are what we call em’.”
You raised your eyebrow.
From spending time with max, norm, and spider, you knew that humans had a different way of dealing with their feelings than na’vi did. But this new information peaked your interest.
“How can i find one?”
Jake paused.
That’s a damn good question.
He thought to himself.
He hummed for a moment, petting bobs neck and you put your bow back in its place on your saddle.
“How about this, every few days, you and I can meet.”
Jake proposed.
You raised your eyebrows.
“Where?”
He shrugged. “Anywhere you want. We can go to one of the mountains, or the stream, or the caves, whatever. It can be private. And we can talk like you would to a therapist.”
You considered it for a moment, but after all, maybe this would fix you.
You shook on it and agreed.
“Deal.”
Jake ruffled your braids and smiled.
“Attagirl. Lets get moving. Those yerik are probably at the lake by now. I’ll race you.”
You mounted Kailo, rolling your eyes.
“I don’t abuse the elderly.”
“Oh fuck off i’m not that old.”
You faked a wince as jake mounted Bob.
“Oo, careful grandpa. You shouldn't be moving too much like that.”
Jake flipped you off.
“Kiss the darkest side of my blue as-”
Before he could finish, You and Kailo took to the skies.

Back at high camp..
Neteyam’s pov:
Lo’ak groaned as he laid in his hammock.
Today felt like small pieces had been torn out of it. The absence of my father, my mother, Kiri and Y/n all contributed to this unease.
It fascinating how easily little pieces of things leave something so unstructured when certain routines in your life undergoes a sudden cessation. Only fragments of familiarity keep me company today.
Oh, yeah. That and Lo’ak’s bitching.
I’m never one to complain. Not really. But Lo’ak…He was my personal acception.
I’ve been stuck with him since this morning. My father took Y/n out to hunt early before I awoke, and my mother and Kiri have gone to assist my grandmother in the Tsahik tent. Lo’ak lost his flight privileges after that little stunt he pulled during the raid, and I don’t feel like going anywhere alone. I offered to join my father last night on his hunt this morning, but my father insisted he and Y/n go hunting alone.
I offered to help my grandmother, but Kiri beat me to it. My mother asked me to stay home and start preparing for tonights meal. So here i was hunched over chopping up root vegetables while I was stuck in this void we called home. I felt detached today. Like the world just floated around me while I remained rooted like a weathering tree.
My accidental overhearing over my sister and Y/n talking last night is still fresh on my mind.
“Dude..I think you’re done with that one.”
Lo’ak’s voice finally reaches my ears.
I lift my head, and he points down to where i had clearly been so distracted, i had diced the poor vegetable into tiny pieces, too small to be cooked over a fire. They would shrivel away in the smoke.
I threw them to the side, trying to refocus.
“What is up with you today?” Lo’ak interrogates instead of asking. I keep my eyes down, shrugging.
“Nothing. Why?
He shrugs, mocking my movements, leaning back in his hammock, leaving his leg to dangle, his toes brushing the ground.
“Dunno. You just seem kinda…off?”
I sigh, scraping the new batch of chopped vegetables off the carved board i was cutting them on and into the wooden bowl with my knife.
“Just a bit tired. I didn’t get much sleep last night”
Technically, that wasn’t a lie. Which seems in my favor, if you remember from earlier, I’m a shit liar.
Memory was a funny thing. It claws at your mind until you grant it consciousness, and then it romances itself with such scandalous notions. Unforgiving us for ever dreaming of forgetting.
It wants to awake something in us that we can only pray stays dead.
I knew I shouldn't have been listening to Y/n’s words. I knew I should have been asleep.
But know that it’s found me, it captures me.
I want to exist in her mind not only as a figment, because there’s one particular part that is beating the shit out of me.
‘I don’t hate him anymore. I hate the delusions of himself he put inside my head.’
I used to think she only hated me. Hated me for my ignorance, my hesitance, my fear.
I hated it too.
But no. She hated me because she thought i lied to her, gave her something so precious, so inexplicably binding only to shatter it infront of her eyes.
My love for her was never a lie. It was never a joke, or a ruse, or a figment in this phantom of longing that looms over me.
I couldn’t allow this to go on any longer. That I knew for sure.
Unfortunately, getting to Y/n was a wall i couldn’t seem to climb.
When she wasn’t out hunting or strategizing air strikes with my father, she was with spider, and Spider didn’t let me go within 5 feet of Y/n.
I had to admire him for it, despite him becoming a vicissitude in the middle of my current mission, I had to give him some slack as a fellow oldest sibling.
If anyone had hurt kiri, or tuk (when she came of age to engage in such ‘romantic affairs’) ,  if anyone hurt them the way I hurt y/n, I’d probably have to put my mother’s years of archery lessons to use. Granted, My father would probably skin the poor bastard and wear him as a coat before I even got a chance.
I can’t blame him for protecting Y/n.
I try to think further as i continue chopping, my tail flicking behind me.
I decide Kiri is my best option. I’ll find her when she returns from Tsahik’s tent. Eywa please, just give me one chance. I swear i’ll-
“Where’s Tuk?”
Lo’ak suddenly pipes up, he probably got bored with his own laziness.
I glance up at him as i scarped off my knife.
“Kyuna picked her up this morning to take her to play with popiti for the day.”
Lo’ak raised an eyebrow.
“Kyuna?”
I nodded, not looking up.
“Your new mate?”
I don’t like the way he said ‘new mate’. As if i had one in the first place.
I shake my head, slightly annoyed.
“She’s not my mate. I’m not interested in kyuna.”
“Tuk said-”
“Tuk doesnt know what shes talking about.”
Lo’ak shrugs, leaning back to sit up a bit, looking at me with skeptical eyes.
“What’s really going on with you?”
“I don’t know what you speak of.”
He scoffs. “I’m not stupid, Neteyam. You’re acting off. You have all morning, all day, and even now. Whats the deal?”
I place my knife down, glaring at my brother.
“I don’t owe you an explanation. Okay?”
The tent falls silent, and I continue on with my chores, I hear Lo’ak mutter a small apology under his breath. I cave.
“No, I’m just tired..I shouldn’t have snapped like that.”
Lo’ak nods, fidgeting with his songchord.
“If you don’t want kyuna…You aren’t thinking about Y/n. right?”
Lo’ak was more than displeased when I started courting y/n. And he didn’t try to hide it either.
Lo’ak loves y/n. Not romantically. But he loves her.
It’s the kind of closeness that isn’t sex or intimately deep.
Lo’ak always felt like the distant star in our family. The one who strays from the perfect rotation of each patterned path.
His hands were stained with hunger. Imperfect painted sun blood stained skies.
Lo’ak’s trust in us was ghostly and transluscent. He didn’t always feel like he fit the shape carved for him.
Lo’ak’s imperfect edges, sharpened and rough, scarred and edged to a point.
He found his place between Spider and Y/n. His bestest friends. Two people he would die for.
Found his own sky.
Dark blue and purple hues and the warmth of pale moonlight, he found his place.
When Lo’ak found something that accepted him, he protected it with his life.
And I can’t blame him. Being in love your brother's best friend is awkward.
Lo’ak was afraid of me stealing that away from him.
Of me invading his circle.
The reality of a sacrifice is an odd, unevenly constructed abstraction.
People don’t think I was born from my mother, rather I was carved from stone and polished to a pristine hue of gold.
My parents expected me to build myself wings and fly further than anyone had ever tried.
When the line wasn’t perfectly straight, it was erased and made a new slate. Blank. Perfect. Spotless.
And sometimes, I’m not neteyam to my parents.
I’m my mother, just a younger version.
I am my father, worn thin from a war and plagued by my past promises.
I’m just a shell of something that was no more. Something to refill with their own pieces of the past.
My skin and soul is only stitched out of parts of them. But only the unscathed parts.
Anything that dared to be less than that was indescent. Unworthy of the light.
My mother’s anger, my fathers guilt, was a far too discolored shade to be seen in the sky.
My existence was like a kaleidoscope of muted colors. A prism turned prison.
I think I’ve forgotten how to slouch. How to sit with an unwelcome posture. How to fidget and how to fantasize.
My entire life is full of sacrifices.
Sacrificing y/n for my future.
Sacrificing my brothers best friend. My future mate.
But I’ll be damned if I loose her again.
So, I lie for the second time.
“No. I wasn’t thinking about y/n, idiot.”
Lo’ak nods,
Leaning back, closing his eyes. I mentally high five eywa because he doesn’t interrogate me further.
“You know, instead of taking a nap, you could be helping me.”
I huff, and fight the urge to roll my eyes, and he sighs dramatically.
“Neteyam, I’m too pretty for slave labor.”
I throw a vegetable at his head and he hisses in pain.
“Fuck you. That’s sibling abuse.”
He whines.
“I’m about to abuse my responsibilities with this knife if you don’t get up off your lazy ass and do something useful with your existence.”
I point my knife at him and he groans, standing up and leaving the hammock.
“Easy there, big bro. Spider will be here soon.”
I raise my brow, an uneasy feeling settling in my chest.
“Spider? Here?”
He nods.
“Yeah. We have chores to do too, ya know.”
I shake my head, slicing the new vegetable horizontally, watching the colored juices trickle down the roots and stain the cutting board.
“No. Not here. You know how mother feels about spider.”
Spider was my mother’s foil. An old term our father taught us.
My mother owed Zensira her life. And she swore to her a long time ago, that if anything happened to her or ka’lik, she would step up to be a mother to y/n, the same went for my father.
But Zensira didn’t have one child. She had two. Spider was not biologically her child, but he was treated like her son all the same. Living in Y/n’s family’s tent, being cared for, the same way any mother would nurture a child.
My mother made promises for y/n. But she never made any for spider.
I don’t think she ever will.
To her, he was a demon. And alien. The type of animal with no hope of survival, but refuses to die. Remains unyielding even under the unwelcoming atmosphere of pandora.
He was an actor. A pathetic excuse of a performance.  A pale child painted blue.
My mother loves y/n the same way she loves tuk and Kiri. Would go the same lengths for her as she would for any of her children, and the same thing applies to my father.
Spider was allowed everywhere in high camp except our family’s hut.
My grandmothers hut was an exception, because it was a communal place in our clan.
But my mother refused to have any sky demon’s presence scathe the memories of her home. Her only safe place. Where she raised her children and started her new life.
That’s probably why Lo’ak spent so much time at Y/n’s hut when he was little. It was one of the only places he could be comfortably with both Y/n and Spider at the same time.
“You know how mom feels about spider in the hut.”
Lo’ak’s expression is blanked with disinhibited concern and a genuine lack of guilt.
“Mom isn’t here. She’ll be gone all day. Plus, we’re making y/n some new arrows. She’s on that group hunt tonight.”
I crossed my arms.
“And who allowed you to mess with her supplies?”
Lo’ak scoffed. Placing his hands on his hips with a cocky grin.
“The mighty archer herself. I’ve been appointed by Y/n and tasked with a very important job. Who am I to decline her?”
“Just make sure he isn’t here for long. She can smell him if he’s been in here. You know mom’s senses.”
Lo’ak waves me off, standing to his feet, grabbing the small baskets of purple and red feathers y/n used for the fletching of her arrows, and starts to tie them to the shaft of the arrow.
Spider joined him not long after, the two if them sat in the middle of the tent, crafting arrows and talking.
Spider glanced at me after finishing another arrow.
“So where is everyone today?”
“Father took Y/n hunting. My mother and Kiri are assisting grandmother- and Tuk is with popiti.”
Spider raised an eyebrow at me, his mask fogging up momentarily with each breath.
“Who? Popiti?”
Lo’ak rolled his eyes.
“Kyuna’s little sister.”
Spider nodded in realization, then his expression soured.
Lo’ak snorted. “Neteyam’s new mate.”
“For the 5th time, she’s not my mate.”
Spider chuckles along with him and I swear i’m losing neurons from just breathing the same air as Lo’ak and Spider.
Or really, just Lo’ak.
I stood to my feet as i heard footsteps outside. Tuk must’ve  finished up her activities with Popiti for the day.
Usually, It was An’kora. Popiti’s mother, who walked Tuk home in the afternoons.
But when I opened the flap. I’m faced with a face that isn’t my little sister, her braids slightly disheveled from a day of wild fantasies and games of tag.
A na’vi girl, with mid length braids and a beaded top smiles at me so sweetly it’s sickening.
You know those kinds of people that you've known since your childhood, and you always knew in one way or another, they would grow up to be assholes?
Yeah. That's Kyuna.
Kyuna was the girl that never let Spider or Kiri, Or Lo’ak play any of her games because of their ‘sky people germs'.
Kyuna was the girl that told everyone not to sit next to Y/n in the communal lessons we attend as children, telling everyone that she lived with a human boy who gave her diseases.
She does this thing where she laughs into her hand, and leans on the person closest to her, expecting them to allow her access nto their personal space as if the world had her name written on it.
She bows slightly, her movements unnecessarily exaggerated as she raises her two fingers to her forehead and dips them down.
“Oel ngati kameie, Neteyam.”
I return the gesture, nodding at her.
“Kyuna. It’s good to see you.”
No it’s not.
She bats her eyes at me, and my annoyance only simmers away when a familiar smaller na’vi body slams herself into my leg, pressing her head into my hip.
I chuckle softly, ruffling Tuk’s braids.
“Hey Tuk-Tuk. Did you have a fun time?”
I pat her shoulder as she opens her mouth to speak, her big eyes sparkling before she’s cut off by a shriek-like voice.
“Oh she had tons of fun! Her and Popiti just ran around for hours playing their silly little games.”
When you're an older sibling, you start to catch onto things. You start to memorize your younger siblings' habits, mannerisms, movements, even the slightest twitch of their tail.
Tuk was a creature of habit. And I could tell by the way she gently tugged on my loincloth, and the way she tucked herself behind my arm, she was uncomfortable.
I reach my hand out, and she takes it within a split second, gently borrowing herself in the space behind me.
I lean down a bit, keeping my hand in it’s place on her shoulder.
“Are you hungry? Why don’t you go on inside, yes? Spider and Lo’ak are already sitting. I’m sure Lo’ak would love to make you some seed-leaf wraps.”
Her tail flicks at the mention of her favorite snack, and she finally cracks a smile, before jogging inside.
“She’s adorable. Isn’t she??”
Kyuna sighs in an almost dreamily manner, I stand up straight again to face her.
“My mother was informed An’kora was taking Tuk home today. Did something come up?”
She waves me off, ridding my concern from the air.
“Mother got tied up on foraging duty. I figured I'd watch the girls and walk Tuk home.”
I nod, slowly. “Ah. Well, thank you for taking her home.”
She smiles, tilting her head like a viperwolf begging for scraps.
“Oh. No need to thank me. She’s precious, that little Tuktirey.”
I never liked the way she talked about my sister. Her tone was almost mocking, as if she was describing a doll or some kind of inanimate object.
“Well. I should get going. I don’t trust lo’ak alone with the firepit and Tuk is probably hungry-”
“My father wanted me to invite you on his next hunt. Are you free midday tomorrow?”
I wasn’t surprised when she offered. It’s all she talked about the last 4 times I had saw her.
The one time I did agree, all the man would talk about was what kinds of flowers Kyuna liked, and how no one had courted her yet.
My eywa, I wonder why.
There’s an unsteady rhythm that inhabits itself in my chest. The kind that sets off warning signals in your brain.
I scratch the back of my head awkwardly, my knuckle brushing my tswin.
“It’s a kind offer, really. But I’m already expected to join the night hunt tonight. The one led by y/n and my father.”
She stared at me with some notion of unrequited enamour, and I almost feel bad for her.
“I’m sorry. Maybe another time?”
She nods, her tail swishing behind her.”
“Of course. I’d expect nothing less from the future olo’eyktan of our clan.”
The emphasis on my title seems almost slurred, and my body instinctively takes a step back the moment she takes a step forward.
“Yes, well, my training has only been increasing.”
“Such a strong warrior. A man of the people. I’m surprised you don’t have the women of our clan falling at your feet. Oh, wait You do!”
Why was she yelling? I’m literally two feet in front of her.
I shifted uncomfortably on my feet.
“I should get back inside, kyuna.”
“One more thing, Neteyam?”
I don’t turn my body fully towards her, but my eyes focus on her figure nonetheless.
“There’s been rumors.”
Something twists in my stomach the moment she says that. Like a static running blank. Or soundwaves straightening into lines.
“What?”
“People talk. And there’s been word that the future olo’eyktan of our people will never find his tsahik.”
I groan, dragging my palm down my face.
“Don’t bother me with such matters, Kyuna. All this talk of the future that is too far away to be treading towards. My father is too stubborn to give up his place that fast. He will remain olo’eyktan for a long time before I take his place.”
She shrugs, crossing her arms.
“All i’m saying is..”
She takes another step, her chest nearly touching mine.
“You are wanted for more than you think. The women of this clan practically swoon over the thought of being by your side, and you haven’t even blinked at them.”
I click my tongue, averting my eyes.
“My future mate is none of your business. Nor is it the clans. Not now, at least.”
She goes to speak; but before she can utter her next words, Lo’ak came stumbling out of the tent with a less than pleased expression on his face.
“Bro.”
He tugs on my arm, gagging exaggeratingly.
“Tuk threw up- it’s a mess in there. Whatever Kyuna fed her is NOT sitting well.”
I blink at my brother, but it quickly registers that something wasn’t right.
“Are you sure? She seemed fine when she came home-“
“Dude. I know barf when I see it.
She must have ate something bad at Popiti’s.”
Kyuna was stunned, crossing her arms in an offended manner.
“I beg your pardon? Tuk didn’t eat anything at my place today.”
Lo’ak scoffed.
“Uh huh. Sure. You’re probably just trying to poison my sister. Aren’t you? Our father will be hearing about this!”
My main concern at the moment is Tuk.
“Excuse me-“
I muttered to Kyuna as an excuse for a goodbye, shoving past Lo’ak to my family’s tent, expecting to see a poor Tuktirey doubled over, regurgitating what was either late breakfast or early lunch, when instead all that comes into view is Tuk sitting cross-legged next to spider, as he starts methodically picking out some of the different seeds from the assorted bowls we used to prepare our meals. As he sat making leaf wraps for a suspiciously fine looking Tuk.
I crouched down next to her, feeling her forehead and keeping a hand gently on her back.
“Are you okay, Tuk?”
She nodded, blinking up at me.
My eyes flicker up when Lo’ak enters the tent, whistling as if nothing just happened.
“Lo’ak, Tuk seems fine..”
I trail off.
He winks at me.
“Your welcome. Kyuna left us in peace.”
Pain in the ass or not, I have to admit, Lo’ak was smarter than we give him credit for.
when I finally finished peeling the vegetables, I left them in their basket and enjoyed a break with Tuk, Lo’ak, and Spider.
We all sat eating Spider’s very poor excuse of a seed-leaf wrap. But they worked, for some odd reason no one could place.
Spider didn’t eat, because of his mask, so i guess he settled for conversation.
“So, Tuk. How was your playdate?”
Tuk nods eagerly, talking through a mouth full of seed-wrap.
I reach for the extra cloth in my loincloth pocket, letting her wipe her mouth before speaking normally again.
“It was fun. But I don't think I like Kyuna anymore.”
Lo’ak scoffed, high fiving tuk.
“Put er’ there sis. Neither do I. She’s a bitch.”
“Lo’ak. Language.” I scold, smacking his head lightly.
He rolls his eyes.
“Fine. Shes a B-I-T-C-H. Better?” Spider laughs. Leaning back.
Lo’ak shoves him.
“Oh and what’s so funny? Mr, ‘i’m afraid of women’?”
Spider shakes his head, raising his pointer finger to poke lo’aks chest.
“Correction. I’m afraid of your mother and Y/n.”
“Everyones afraid of Y/n.”
I ignore Lo’ak and Spider’s bickering, turning my attention to Tuk.
“Was Kyuna bothering you?”
She shook her head, taking another bite. Speaking through a mouth full of food
“Nuh-uh. But she kept asking me if you were home, and if you had received any courting gifts yet, or if you wanted to go hunting with her.”
I bit my tongue, smoothing down some of tuk’s stray braids.
“How about this, Next time, I’ll walk you home from Popiti’s.”
She nodded and took another bite of her food.
“I don’t think she should be your mate anymore”
Tuk shakes her head disapprovingly, crossing her arms over her chest.
Spider raises an eyebrow.
“Kyuna and you are a mated pair? Since when?”
Lo’ak snickers and I groan.
“For the last time, she is not my mate.”
Tuk blinks at me before speaking again.
“Can you mate with y/n instead? She’s nicer.”
I shove another leaf wrap into her hands.
“How about we play the quiet game for a bit?”

Boku no Hero Academia My Hero Academia
Roommate Kiri (no proper title yet) Kirishima Eijirou x Reader  Quirkless roommate AU, pandemic fic which I never wrote during the actual pandemic, fluff, roommates to lovers You don’t really know your roommate well. He’s fine as roommates go, cleans up after himself, bills paid on time. But he’s rarely around for you to actually get to know him. Things begin to change when the pandemic forces both of you to stay at home and your social butterfly of a roommate suddenly loses IRL access to his friends. Current word count: 340 words Estimated ~6,000 words 1,000 words sponsored! Read the original drabble here
Tumblr media
Sequel to post-apocalyptic shopkeep Bakugou (again, no title yet) Bakugou Katsuki, Reader Post-apocalyptic AU, adventure, fluff, light angst You are hired to go to an old nuclear facility to look for documents important to your client. Bakugou, who you’ve come to for weapons, insists on coming with you. During your mission you and Bakugou grow closer and you get to see a side of him you’ve never seen before. (I am unsure whether they will grow closer as friends, as a mentor/mentee thing, or if they become lovers. Open for suggestions on this) Current word count: 450 words Estimated ~8,000 words Read the first part here
Tumblr media
The Color of Twilight Ojiro Mashirao x Fem!Reader Fantasy AU, fluff, romance Dreaming of getting away from the city and opening up a country-side café, you decide to sell most of your possessions and move to the village of Faerie’s Brook. However, you would never have expected that the stories about the magical creatures of the countryside were actually real. Current word count: 2,230 words Estimated ~12,000 words 2,700 words sponsored! Read an excerpt here
Tumblr media
Honkai: Star Rail
A second part to The Luck-Bringing Cat Jing Yuan x Fem!Reader Fantasy AU based on ‘The Apothecary Diaries’ (I need to find a better label for this), fluff, romance SO! This one doesn’t have any form of synopsis yet but I have a lot of ideas! Like a more in-depth description of Reader receiving Snowmoon, or Jing Yuan coming home after having been away for months and an epic cuddle session happens. I’m also open to more ideas!  Current wordcount: none Estimated ~2,500 words Read the first part here
I may add more WIPs in the future.
Please note that I am terrible at estimating word counts and the fics will most likely end up longer than I anticipated ‘cause I am utterly unable to be concise.

Note
I know the blog is titled "transfem kirito truther" but I just had another thought adjacent to that: Did Yui have an actual, in-game avatar prior to Kirito and Asuna finding her, or was that little girl just her own image of herself made material?
(Basically, is Yui ALSO trans?)
you know, I don’t know? Yui’s primary function was to be a therapy bot basically. Help the players with low mental health and give them easily accessible help that they need. Given that, it would make sense that she’d have an avatar that brings comfort. But different things bring comfort to different people, and when we do meet Yui, she’d been stopped from executing her prime function and kinda broke the game to meet Kiri and Asuna. I think it would be entirely reasonable to say that she made an avatar for herself that reflected her own being. An AI that was never allowed to hone in its purpose so it made its own. That explains the child appearance, at least to me. She’s an underdeveloped AI that’s learning as she interacts with her caretakers after having been left in isolation for years.
I think a lot of SAO is very easy and honestly fascinating queer allegory when you look at it

⚠️⚠️⚠️WARNING ⚠️⚠️⚠️
!!!SELF-HARM!!!
All right, I myself still experience this shit that has been with me for many years. So this blog is my outlet. When I was a teenager, I did self-harm, it's terrible, but I thought it was better than antidepressants, which left an emptiness inside. I really felt better, but it didn’t help my mental health in any way.
Please, if this is a painful topic for you, then just scroll down.
I need Leon, who will beat the shit out of me with a suplex 🤣 And then he will hug and regret. Sudden headcanon - Leon ALWAYS takes care of his beloved.
Tumblr media
- self-harm is a thing of the past, but the scars on your skin are now forever with you
- Wide leather bracelets, long sleeves, closed dresses - cut marks should be hidden.
- Everyone deals with their own pain as best they can. If Leon prefers alcohol, then the old folding knife is still in your pocket.
- Leon finds out about your past "hobby" quite by accident.
- He will notice the cuts when you decide to spend the night with him.
- This surprised him unpleasantly, but no condemnation. Leon will run his thumb over the scars, trying to gently ask why did you do this and are you still going on?
- "I felt like a terrible person. This was my reset button. I needed to dispel this fog in my head."
-You probably won't notice, but Leon will be watching closely to see if you have any new scars.
- He will give you all the support he can, especially if you are in therapy. Leon understands how important this is!
- Your pocket knife has gone missing.
- "Princess, why do you need him? Do you want us to talk about what's bothering you? Maybe you want to take a walk? "
- Of course, the number of sharp objects was halved. He's not paranoid, but it's better that you don't have any temptation to hurt yourself. Leon is just worried but happy to see your sincere smile after his stupid joke.
- Don't feel bad for yourself. People can be pieces of shit, but they shouldn't be the reason for your tears and your pain.
- If Leon has the opportunity (we all know he has a fucking important job) he will remind you to take your medicine. Doesn't work or do you feel worse? We'll find another psychotherapist.
- The DSO still pays him well.
- When everything is fine with you, Leon will become more serene
- He kisses your wrists, always speaking kindly to you. Your head lies on his chest, and a blanket is tangled somewhere in his legs. Don't be ashamed of your past! He doesn't blame you for hurting yourself. Those who brought you to this are to blame.
- Sharp things are back in range... but your pocketknife remains missing.
- No need to ask him where he hid it. You will most likely never find it again.
- Leon is still watching you vigilantly as you cut food in the kitchen.
- "I'm not going to make myself hara-kiri!"
- Maybe I just like watching you cook."
- This is partly true. Just give him more time. Leon loves and trusts you, but he's calmer this way.
P.S. God save Leon S(exy) Kennedy!

Summer Solstice - Part 2 It starts -> here
After Jack and Sai returned from their walk, they all gathered around the fire and Jack, Jeb and Ji Ho played a few songs. No Siren's Songs this time to influence the feelings of his friends so they are able spend time together - despite their quarrels.
Jeb sang 'Fast Car' (for Saiwa obviously)
'So, I remember when we were driving, driving in your car Speed so fast, I felt like I was drunk City lights lay out before us And your arm felt nice wrapped around my shoulder And I, I, I had a feeling that I belonged I, I, I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone'
Tumblr media
Ji Ho feels they will have a great evening without the Siren's Songs and it's too dangerous anyway until they find out how to protect themselves, should the Council and Ji Ho's grandfather try something. It's better they do without them. They'll have to learn to live all together again anyway. Jack sang 'Ring of Fire' (links leads to the version from Blondie (from one of my favourite movies of all time, Roadie)) He would never admit that he sings it for Kiyoshi so we don't dive any deeper in that ö.ö
'The chase of love is sweet, when hearts like ours meet I felt for you like a child, oh my heart went wild
I fell into a burning ring of fire I went down down down the flames they went higher and it burns burns burns that ring of fire, that ring of fire, that ring of fire'
The cute birds are back again too! That's such a sweet interaction <3
Tumblr media
And Ji Ho sang 'Livin' on a Prayer' for Vlad. They're almost there.
'We've gotta hold on to what we've got It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not We've got each other and that's a lot for love We'll give it a shot
Whoa, we're half way there Whoa oh, livin' on a prayer Take my hand, we'll make it I swear Whoa oh, livin' on a prayer Livin' on a prayer'
Aouwww
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ji Ho was right, they managed to have a nice evening together without his spells. They were grilling and telling stories and having a good time. Somehow their therapies seem to work. There'd been no great aha effects, but they already prospered a lot. (I think that's important too, not to expect too much too early from a therapy/healing. It needs time and it goes slowly. Healing and prospering needs time. But when you look back from a distance, you'll notice the little steps you've made and you'll see the difference.) And time also heals. Saiwa is relieved. He'd feared much worse because he'd been so upset about Jeb and Kiyoshi - and his own stupidity that he agreed to have a fake relationship to bring Kiyoshi fully back after he'd spent decades into that tree. Over the last months they'd been apart from each other, Saiwa not only calmed down but also came to the conclusion that it had been not really anyones fault. And each of them would do exactly the same again to help each other. There are no excuses to be made and there's no real reason to be angry or jealous. But he still is. He's jealous that Jeb and Kiyoshi live together now even tough he rejected to move in with Jeb when he asked him. And angry at the universe that they have to go through all these crazy madnesses all the time! And what Saiwa just still doesn't know: Is it possible to have a relationship under these circumstances? Will he ever be able to be the leader of the Boys and a worthy partner for Jeb? How will they deal with it when such things happen again? Even though they live in solitude in the Otherworld now, there is still so much going on. Jack even died during his Therapy Game! One day, they will have to return to the Muggle World and then they'll have the Council at their heels again...
Tumblr media
Here, Kumo told Bunny the story how Kiyoshi became a diety and how Kiri, Little Goat and him watched over Kiyoshi all the decades he'd spend in the tree. Bunny listened with big eyes Ö.Ö Little Goat was already sleeping, he'd heard this story a million times before ^^'
Tumblr media
They soon all got tired and went to their tents. Ji Ho and Vlad first, since teleporting the TukTuk around is draining them. But not as much as last time when they had to port two times to Tartosa and back plus Noxee and Greg to Tomarang and back home to Moonwood Mill.
It's so cute with all the wildlife around, even the birds stayed after their songs ended 🐦
Tumblr media
Early next morning, Jeb dragged Vlad and Kiyoshi out to go for a run. Jeb goes jogging almost every morning and he even kept on doing this all the months while Ji Ho, Saiwa and Jack left to live at the Beach House after Saiwa's breakdown. Despite his heartache. It helped him to stay sane. Just running without thinking and worrying too much.
Tumblr media
The little ones were already awake too and chatting with the Bunnies. Henford gossip holds a lot of new ideas and inspiration for their stories and the game! ^^'
Tumblr media
True story! (I found out about the following last November when Lavina asked Francine's (Jeb's grandmother's) boyfriend out for a date 'casual friend time' and never posted it lol) Who said life in the countryside is boring?
Tumblr media
Such a wonderful morning!
Tumblr media
Before they return back to the campsite, they took a short break. Henford is just so beautiful. Jeb to Vlad: "You noticed too that Kiyoshi feels so much better since Jack is back, did you?" Vlad sighed. Yes, he noticed it. Kiyoshi is still far from his old self and doesn't talk much because he's absent and far away in his divine/demonic/whatever spheres his mind roams, but there is a significant improvement. There is a deeper connection between Jack and Kiyoshi, even though Jack declines it - and never felt it. But what are they supposed to do? Jack and Kiyoshi tried to be together but it just didn't work out and Jack almost died (twice) because he worked himself up during their (secret) relationship. They'd all promised to not keep any secrets from each other anymore. So they'll have to talk to Saiwa about this. Which will make him angry again because he's worried about Jack and he still hasn't fully recovered from his own breakdown... Jeb and Vlad sighed from the depths of their souls.
Tumblr media
to be continued...

You know, part of what bothers me, I think, about some Tonowari and Ronal adopting Spider fics is the demonization of Neytiri, and to some extent, Jake. I’ve made posts about this before, I am number one Spider defender, ya’ll know, but Neytiri’s reactions to him make perfect sense.
Neytiri is 18 in the first movie. She’s already lost her sister and father right in front of her at an incredibly young age and very traumatically. The spectre of this war and of this destruction has been around basically her entire life. In the comics, Mo’at and Eytukan leave the decision of wether or not to open Grace’s school up to Neytiri and the other children. Neytiri advocates for this school, and then her sister is shot and killed right in front of her at that very building. Neytiri advocates for Jake, trusts him and defends him and lets a human into her heart again, only to find out he has been betraying her the entire time. It’s a vicious cycle I don’t think she can bare to even attempt to repeat again with Spider, and for good reason! In the comics, we learn that half the humans who were deemed trustworthy even defect back to the RDA and betray the Na’vi again. They lived side by side for fifteen years and still weren’t trustworthy. Girl has major trust issues. I’m sure the idea of her kids trusting a human and it getting a sibling of theirs killed like it happened to Sylwanin is very prevalent. Not even mentioning what it means that Spider is Quaritch’s son, the son of the man Jake betrayed her for, and the son of the man responsible for her fathers death and the destruction of her home. Again, she is eighteen in the first movie. Even if the Na’vi mature differently, expecting her to make an emotionally mature response to Spider is irrational, and deadass I think Spider is more empathetic to that than half of you. Obviously, adults are responsible for children and it’s not an excuse for her treatment of Spider. But honestly, Neytiri never directly harms Spider unless absolutely necessary. She leaves him behind to save Kiri. She pushes him in the comics when she blames him for almost getting Kiri and Tuk killed. She cuts him in the movie to convince Quaritch she will kill him. But then she pushes him behind her, not toward Quaritch. Even after this move, she trusts him not to attack her or anything. She pushes him behind her where he is safe. Sometimes the stuff ya’ll write her doing is wild to me.
Our man Jake Sully (I am a Jake Sully apologist) is 22 in the first movie. I am 23 guys, he’s baby. If I suddenly had three kids and another on the way (I’m including Spider) I would kill myself. No lie. That man is baby that is not a fully developed brain. The way that man soaks up any attention from Grace like he’s never even seen a parent before? Telling. The way he protects Grace and Mo’at specifically during the fall of the Hometree??? I was sideeyeing the hell out of you Jake. Jake and Neytiri needed a full 20 years of therapy and being parented themselves before having any children, first of all, but that’s not the cards they were dealt hmm? Jake is now the leader of a clan of people in a culture and a society and a planet and a species he knew next to nothing about three months ago. And now he’s PARENTING IN IT??? AND HE’S SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD AT IT?? AND ALSO THERE IS A WAR??? AND HE HAS MAJOR PTSD?? Anyways what I’m saying is it’s a miracle any of the Sully’s are alive, let alone turned out even remotely chill.
Saying that the adults around Spider failed him is absolutely correct and completely accurate. They also just were not really adults imo yet. They were barely there, kids who had to grow up way too fast to deal with horrendous things way too quickly, just like the kids in the second movie. Cut them some slack. The number one goal in foster care, family services, counseling, anything like that, is to keep families together. I kinda feel that way about Spider. He’s a Sully god damnit. Saying Ronal and Tonowari would be better parents is insane to me. Obviously, they would. There was no war going on for them, they have no past trauma, and they seem to be older. But idk man, I don’t think that’s his place. For me, found family is about mutual healing and growing with an odd little chosen family. No one is odder than that fucking human marine guy who became an alien and married an alien to have some alien hybrid children and now they gotta officially adopt that weird human kid that’s always around.
(obv I’m still reading all ur Tonowari and Ronal adopting Spider fics tho)

Hiya, back again with more MHA fic prompts– or more like one prompt with two versions of it. Anyways, let's get started!
Tumblr media
Delinquent Class 1-A Reform Program
They were all in juvie but were handpicked by Nezu and Aizawa for the program.
m*ne*a is added bc he has family on the school board. Neither of them thought it was a good idea.
They have group therapy and live in dorms on campus bc they are living their sentences at UA
Maybe Kouda and Sero are in juvie together. And it's kinda shitty so there are bugs everywhere. So, Sero helps Kouda get over his fear of bugs.
What they're in for:
QUIRKISM: Midoriya (blamed him for Bakugou getting arrested so they called an anonymous tip saying he was talking about selling his notebooks. Which as we know have extensive info on heroes), Shouji (just bc his looks smh), Shinsou (he used his quirk to save himself from being killed– either from bullies, abusive fosters, or abusive parents), Ojiro & Tsu (at a protest and got arrested– it was mostly peaceful and for heteromorphs. They do not know each other), Tokoyami (see Quirk Accident(s)), Hagakure (see Pranks/Vandalism),
QUIRK ACCIDENT(S): Tokoyami (Dark Shadow went overboard defending him against his bullies who followed him after the movies to beat him up. They did not believe that he didn't do it on purpose), Satou (he hurt some people during a sugar rush), Kaminari (someone deliberately scared him in the pool, knowing he would spark. They scared him so bad that he short-circuited. Some people might have died)
PRANKS/VANDALISM: Hagakure (she pulled pranks all the time at school to get back at her bullies. However, nobody could prove it was her but they all knew it was . So, they framed her for stealing things), Sero (he does both but is a famous graffiti artist which is what landed him in juvie. He was caught defacing an endeawhore billboard).
VIOLENCE: Bakugou (being himself and how he went too far– surprisingly it wasn't on Mido but Mido did intervene) Kirishima (he beat a guy half to death for being a pedo to Mina), Mina (punched a cop for being too rough with a cooperating Kiri. He was letting himself be arrested but the cop knew the pedo so), Jirou (same thing but also at the heteromorph protest she decked a hero for being handsy), Iida (for vigilantism- it started with getting revenge for someone hurting his brother but then another vigilante straightened him out), Shouto (the vigilante that straightened him out. His sperm-donor let him be arrested to 'teach him a lesson').
FRAUD(?): Yaomomo (made things w/ her quirk and gave them to the poor some being yen or diamonds), Aoyama (was raised by grifters, con artists and he was involved in several of their schemes. They shifted all the blame on him, pretended it was all him, and acted like concerned parents)
THIEVERY: "Hagakure", Aoyama, Uraraka (she was really hungry and maybe homeless), Kouda (technically- he released several animals from several facilities that were being held captive and experimented on– Nezu likes him lol)
?: m*ne*a being himself
Aizawa: "Some of you don't deserve to be here. Whether it be because of discrimination, teenage rebellion, poverty, your families, or quirk accidents. And there are those of you who do and need to learn restraint and/or had good intentions but broke the law, got caught."
Tumblr media
UA’s Delinquent Reform Program
Quirkless Midoriya Izuku.
All of these who are also seen above can have the same reasons for being arrested.
Midoriya, Shinsou, Kaminari, Hagakure, Kuroiro (quirkism), Shishida (again quirkism and maybe a quirk accident), Shouji, Tokoyami, Tokage (quirkism but also probably pranks), Monoma (again quirkism), Kamakiri (again quirkism but also bc he beat up his bullies and harassers everytime), Hatsume (blew up too many things, too many times), Toga, (you know why, you could use the canon story of why she ran away), OCs(?), and m*ne*a ARE IN THE PROGRAM.
Tokage, Toga, and Hatsume are besties.
Hound Dog is their homeroom teacher. They have group therapy sometimes.
Most of them are there for discriminatory reasons and don't actually deserve to be there. Some were there for more lighthearted reasons like pulling pranks. Or both. And others deserved to be there and redemption doesn't seem to be in their future or it is just very far.
A lot of them fight for a chance to be in the hero course. While some want to go into other courses. Though not all of them get the chance to make it into either (the OCs and unredeemed grapist).
There are times where students are removed from the program. Sometimes it's because of the three strikes and you're out, stipulation. To be considered a strike it has to be something serious. Like physical bullying, sexual harassment, and etc.
Other times it's because the student never belonged there in the first place. A lot of these students still want to stay in the program even if they don't need to be there. Either it's because then they'd just be in ‘boring’ Gen Ed or they made some friends and don't want to leave them (ppl who actually understand them). Or its bc Hound Dog thinks they need to be there to heal. With these students if they are negatively affected by the program they are pulled. Such as being bullied or triggered and it's bad for their mental health.
Final exams are the program’s check point. They stay in the program if by final exams they haven't made good progress. Or if Hound Dog recommends the stay for a while longer. There are also students who are moved into the program after final exams. I.e. Bakugou and maybe m*ne*a
After school and Gen Ed classes when heroics is going on they have classes about discrimination, bullying, sexual harassment, managing quirks, and so on and so forth.
Some villains target UA students because of the LoV like it's an internet trend.
How about during the USJ a group of the villains stormed the main campus and all the teachers had already left for the USJ. Believing its security would protect the remaining students and that the threat was only at the USJ. Unfortunately, they were wrong. Luckily our Delinquents come to the rescue.
Sir Nighteye asks Midoriya if he's the one who refused OFA and is pissy about it. It's at his internship bc Mirio thought that Sir could help with Mido's analysis.
Self-defense is an extracurricular/club. Ecto, Eraser, and Snipe teach it but mostly Ecto. Those trying for the hero course take it.
Also RG knows them very well bc Kamakiri rubs off on them.
They also have dorms on campus before everyone else.

I hope this makes sense

I had an idea of Spider and Kiri restarting Grace's english school, do with it whatever you want
its what finally got spider on neytiri's good side.
The school is reopened in not only grace's honor but in sylwanin's. A memorial is kept in front of the school, and spider does most of the maintenance; making sure the candles are replaced often, the altar it's kept on stays clean, and the flowers and photos stay in their best condition. Sure, it's not only for sylwanin, its for the other children, for grace, even tsu'tey; but its spider who has uses his time to do so, to preserve their memories in a place so innocent as a school.
they don't only teach English, they teach just about anything they can get their hands on really; they teach math, science, theology, STEM, Na'vi language and culture (for the other human kids on pandora). they offer support for anyone hurt by the war, self-care and life skills for orphaned children, as close to therapy as they can get for troubled individuals.
spider puts his whole self into fixing, healing, the people his father hurt, and it makes neytiri understand that he isn't him, he'll never be him, and that she needs to stop treating him as such.
kiri uses the school to reconnect with her mother, to keep a part of her alive. she does it alongside her best friend, her person, and by doing so she finds peace within herself. her brother finally finding a way into her mother's heart definitely plays into that peace.

‼️avatar the way of water spoilers‼️
made myself sad with my last post so here’s some things i think would happen if neteyam had survived. this is still a little sad. new- @biolumilunareclipse made a fic about some of these!! i love it so much
the entire sully family was extremely relieved, they all cried and hugged him as tightly as they could without worsening his injury
lo’ak has nightmares where neteyam doesn’t make it, and sometimes wakes up and hallucinates neteyam’s blood on his hands. when this happens, he goes to where neteyam is sleeping and lays with him. watching him breathe and reminding himself that he’s alive and he’s safe
when neteyam finds out he does this, he gives him a very tight hug. he starts to cry when he feels lo’ak’s tears on his skin and they sit there like that for a very long time
the sullys wouldn’t let him do anything while recovering, insisting he rest and not strain himself. they babied him quite a bit which he sort of liked because as the oldest he never really received that kind of protectiveness from his entire family. so as overbearing as it was, he did appreciate it a lot
his recovery took an extremely long time, and he felt useless because he couldn’t really do anything
he had to do a lot of physical therapy exercises, which he felt somewhat embarrassed doing because he felt he was too old to need them and he felt weak
kiri was the first to notice and began began doing them with him as soon as she did. tuk wanted to do what they were doing so she joined in. it took a day or two before lo’ak joined. then neytiri saw them all doing the exercises together and wanted to join as well, because she loves spending time with her family :)
then jake came back from hunting, saw them all together doing the exercises, and promptly sat down and began doing them with them
morning and night, they all sit in a circle in their home doing the stretches and exercises. if someone’s late they get a playful scolding from everyone else
“what? you are too good for family bonding time?”
“my heart is BROKEN!”
“i can not believe you do not like us anymore”
so neteyam’s physical therapy became a family bonding event, taking the embarrassment away from him completely. neytiri even made an off handed comment that the exercises are helping improve her range of motion and balance, which made him feel even better because it took the burden off his shoulders
when recovery got tough and he was frustrated with how slow he was progressing, neytiri was always the one that made him feel the best. partially because jake is bad with words
he really admires and respects both of his parents. so hearing his mother say things like, “you sustained a great injury and survived. that shows how great of a fighter you are.” “your will alone will not heal you. you need to give your body time to heal its self.” and “you are a fierce warrior neteyam. this is simply another battle you have to fight, and i know you will win.” not only bring him extreme comfort, but also make him tear up a little. something she doesn’t point out but will give him extra long hugs when she sees it
as much as jake wants to bring the comfort neytiri does, he is just not as good as detecting why neteyam feels the way he does, so his comfort is a little more generic. he says stuff like “you are doing amazingly well neteyam, i am very proud of you.” which is very sweet and loving, and does make him feel better, but nothing can bring him peace like his mothers words
even though he felt the best after neytiri comforted him, he still felt better after his sibling did
lo’ak typically gave him reassurance in the form of “you got shot in the chest bro! do not give yourself such a hard time.” then changing the subject to a stupid story or corny joke to cheer him up
kiri tries to focus on why he feels that way and her reassurance is specific to that. if he’s frustrated because he’s having a lot of cramps when he tries to move, she’ll say something like “the shot disrupted your nervous system. it is natural for your entire body to feel the effects because something that ranges from your head to your toes was damaged. do not feel angry with your body for trying to understand what happened and heal itself.”
tuk mostly just hugs him and says she’s just happy he’s there, which makes him tear up a little
once he was able to sit up, he was allowed to weave things. his weaving skills improved greatly because of this
but one day he twisted his torso in a way that irritated his wound and winced, so he got weaving taken away for a week while they made sure no damage was done
it was made very clear that until he was fully recovered he would not be allowed to fish, hunt, climb, or dive as that might increase his injury. this was a rule he disliked, but respected and understood
even though he recovered, the shot most likely did a decent amount of damage to his respiratory and cardiovascular systems, so he can’t stay underwater for as long or run as long without running out of breath as he used to
this was frustrating to him, but everyone, including all the members of the village, made sure that no one made any rude comments about it
jake let up on the lectures and pressure he put on the kids, but not the stress on the importance of safety and watching out for eachother
after almost losing neteyam, he realized he didn’t want his kids to think he was ever disappointed in them for trying to do what they felt was right, but he knows they still need to be careful
jake taught them all, including neytiri, bullet wound medical care and what to do if anyone gets shot again
he also makes sure they all cary tiny med kits with them every time there may be danger. he would prefer if they carried them at all times but he knows that’s not possible with the lack of pockets they all have (the med kits include a sterile needle and medical thread for stitches, big butterfly bandaids, a goop that can help stop bleeding, gauzes, anti-bacterial, and little shots of something like adrenaline)
lo’ak does not make rash, in the moment decisions that could hurt his siblings anymore. sometimes he will still do something dangerous, but he tries to make sure they aren’t involved
neytiri insisted on making more protective armor for every member of the family that covered vital organs. made of thick leather that sandwiches a thin metal layer. they all wear them when doing something dangerous, no one even protested when she suggested the idea
they’re all more aware of their surroundings and slightly on edge. for months after the event they all flinched and whipped their head around if they heard a shot or loud bang
neteyam hates his scar. he starts wearing a chest plate that covers it because he can’t stand looking at it himself or when other peoples stares linger on it. no matter how many times he’s told scars are badges of honor, he can’t shake the voice in his head telling him it’s just a sign that he’s weak
neteyam will have nightmares about what happened as well. he tries to hide them as to not worry his family, but lo’ak noticed one day that neteyam was doing a lot of the same things he did after having one of his own nightmares and gave him a long hug once everyone is gone
they started sleeping closer together after that. and both know it’s okay to wake the other up to talk about their nightmares
they continue to do stretches in the morning and before bed even after neteyam’s physical therapy is over, it just became a habit. though now they incorporate more difficult poses and stretches and laugh and tease when someone wobbles
i’ll most likely add more later but i need to get this avatar brain rot out of my system. and feel free to add your own if you want!
new + more under cut
jake and neteyam have a lot of bonding moments throughout his recovery because neteyam had to relearn so many things
for example, shooting a bow and arrow had to be relearned because of the tension it put on his chest when pulling the bow back
jake reteaching him that helped him to see neteyam as more of a kid, which also made him dial back his strictness
at the reef clan, neteyam is no longer the firstborn of the chief so he has a lot more freedom to goof off and have fun
in fact, not being the leading family gave all of the sullys more breathing room that they hadn’t had before
and after neteyam’s recovery, they got to spend a lot more time together and enjoy life a little more
the metkayina people become more accepting of the family and start treating them much kinder, ronal is always willing to come help neteyam and give him advice on how to better his healing journey
when neteyam is relearning how to dive and ride the ilu, ao’nung and rotxo become much kinder in their teaching and response to when he struggles
and of course tsireya helps him relearn things as well, but seeing how kind her brother and his friend had become she didn’t want to step in but happily watched from the side with lo’ak, kiri, and tuk
they do eventually go back to visit the omatikaya people, but only after neteyam had fully recovered. they visited for a couple weeks before flying back to the metkayina clan
they didn’t want to stay for a few reasons, but decided to make it a habit to go and visit every few months for a couple weeks, to relieve their homesickness and visit their loved ones
