The assailant, Jaromír, Duke of Bohemia, wielded a spear from under the toilet seat, catching King Edmund by surprise. It was a crappy way to die.

On This Day In History . 26 May 946 . King Edmund I was murdered . . 👑 Edmund I, known as 'the Elder' or the Magnificent, was born circa 921, the son of King Edward the Elder & his third wife Edgiva. As a sixteen year old, he had fought with distinction beside his elder half-brother, King Athelstan, at the Battle of Brunanburh against a combined force of Scots and Vikings. Edmund was around eighteen when he succeeded Athelstan on England's throne in 940. . ◼ Edmund's promising reign was cut violently short after only six years. On the Feast of St. Augustine, 26th May, 946, a great festival among the Anglo-Saxon peoples. During the course of revelries to celebrate the event at Pucklechurch, in Gloucester, Edmund, being none the better for the large amount of wine he had consumed, became angered at the presence of one Liofa, an outlaw whom he had expelled from the kingdom a few years previously. . ▪ Angered beyond endurance at what he saw as an outrage against his authority, the King flung Liofa to the ground in fury & in the ensuing struggle the Edmund was fatally stabbed by the outlaw. . ▪ Edmund the Elder was twenty-five years old when he was killed and was buried at Glastonbury Abbey in Somerset. . Once Rapunzel, Eugene, and Cassandra were in the chamber where the moon stone was being kept, taking their action music with them, leaving the others in the destroyed room in a awkward silence.

Lance was off to the side, quietly chattering with Max about how he 'might believe in this stupid destiny stuff.' Fidella was trying to keep Shorty away from the rubble so he would not kill himself.

Which left . . . Adira and King Edmund alone . . . to stare at each other.

King Edmund: So. . . how have you been?

Adira: You mean how have I been after you forced me and everyone else out and away from yourself and our homes without any advice from your trusted advisers?

King Edmund: *gulped*

Adira: If that is what you mean, then I have been fine spending years finding the sun drop, only to have all my old friends turn from me and become my enemies.
