Muzan: 

It's hard finding a movie for Muzan to genuinely watch. He's so nitpicky about them. What's the point of watching fake gore if he can just go outside, kill someone, and create his own horror movie?

Muzan glares at the screen if the gore is inaccurate or there's too much blood (or too little). Why lie? Where's the real stuff? 

Muzan probably likes torture gore movies but still wants plot. 

Muzan likes Silent Hill (2006), the Saw series, Silence of the lambs (1991), Truth or Dare (2018). He likes all the gore and the plot makes up for the inaccuracy of the gore (he likes Truth or Dare simply because the idea of controlling human's minds and bodies are amusing to him)

It's hard to make Muzan sit down and watch a movie with you since he'd rather do other things instead such as work, but once in a blue moon you can convince him. 

Muzan rarely ever cuddles you when watching movies, but if he notices you're scared, he'd pull you close by your waist so you're hugging his side. He acts like it isn't a big deal, but it obviously is considering Muzan's dislike for humans and their weakness. He doesn't bother trying to tease you about your fear, you're already scared and you both know this, and scary movies are supposed to ignite that sort of fear (he also might be engrossed in the movie you put on, but he'll never let you know that satisfaction). 

Douma: 

Douma loves gory movies. 

Douma talks to the TV like it can hear him. Will tell the characters to calmly run, makes remarks about them being too slow or how the killer is catching up (he might be fantasizing about being the one chasing them). 

Douma laughs at every joke in the script like it's the funniest joke he's ever heard. He even laughs when background characters laugh (that's how you know he's a fake one). 

Douma likes obscure movies such as the Circle (2015), Last Shift (2014), the Final Destinations, and Wolf Creek (2005). Probably likes Human Centipede (2009) and laughs at the grossest scenes.

Douma forces you to keep your eyes open, like physically holds them open.

Douma laughs at your fear, he finds amusement in it. It's real genuine fear compared to the fake acting on TV. 

Douma will only comfort you if you cry or if you walk out on the movie to get away from him. He'll apologize profusely (mainly because he doesn't want to sleep alone on the couch). 

Kokushibo: 

Kokushibo doesn't care much for them. He prefers thrillers or mysteries instead.

Kokukshibo is genuinely a little bit freaked out of Scream (1996) because of the guessing who is the killer element, along with the technology of phones (he's traditional, refuses to use anything except letters or email). It was a fight to get him to use router phones. 

Kokushibo likes storytelling movies, or movies with multiple protagonists, or movies where you guess the killer.

Kokushibo likes movies such as Trick ‘R Treat (2007), the Tales from the Crypt series (1989), Stephen King's 1922 (from 2017), Psycho (1960). Nothing too graphic. Gore does not equal horror in his book. He watched M3gan (2022) and was uncomfortable of the advanced technology. 

Kokushibo will reassure you if you're scared. He'll tell you that the movie is fake and will turn the movie off if that's what you want, he'd rather read or do something else instead. If you want to continue watching the movie, he'll give you a blanket so you can hide your face when you get scared, or hide it in his chest, he doesn't mind that either. He finds it comforting that you turn to him when you're scared.

Akaza: 

Akaza is someone who yells at the TV. He'll be one to yell "Run lady run!" whenever the victim trips. Akaza understands final girls cannot punch a hole through their stomaches like how he can, so he just screams at them.

Akaza loves watching movies involving final girls such as the classic 80's and 90's movies with the most final girls. He likes seeing the women kick evil men's asses because the killer had the audacity to prey on someone they believed were weak. 

Akaza likes the first Halloween (1978). He walks you home so you don't get stalked like Laurie Strode did. He also likes the Nightmare on Elm Street series (and watches you when you sleep to make sure Freddy Krueger isn't getting you). He likes Joy Ride 1 (2001) and Joy Ride 2 (2008) [though, he likes the second one way better], and Unfriended: Dark Web (2017). Unfriended made him genuinely uncomfortable because of the invisible paranormal force killing the victims off. How can you fight if you can't see it?

Akaza notices the second you show discomfort or fear, he asks if you want to have the movie turned off. If you don't, he'll put his arm around your shoulder and pull you close to him. He likes when you hide your face in his shoulder or chest, he likes that you turn to him to protect you (because he obviously will). 

        I apologize sincerely for the huge delay! I had little time to write due to work so the only time I had to write was when I was supposed to be sleeping or relaxing, but I finally got this done! Better late than never!

So Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG), the game which inspired the Battle Royale mode that came to define Fortnite, is doing a Chinese New Year promo themed around Journey to the West. Specifically it's themed around the trio of divine guardians who served as the primary protectors.

So briefly, I would like to discuss depictions of Zhu Bajie in popular media... who I generally refer to as Pigsy since, like many westerners - my first exposure to the character was the Japanese TV series Monkey (1978 - 1980) - in my case dubbed into English.

That's him on the right, with the muck rake. I also use this name because it's pretty much an accurate translation of the character's core premise after he is cast down into the mortal realm. It's how he's very consistently depicted:

It's pretty much consistent to the point where the issue with googling for examples is finding the specific product they're linked to since he always looks like a pig man.... just like the PUBG unlockables above depict him as.

So you can imagine my surprise to discover that at some point in the development of this promotion, someone from the PUBG Corporation doubtlessly asked "Have we got the design for Pigsy ready yet?" and the reply was apparently "Yeah, made her real fucking sexy for you too! Just like you asked!"

This is also a rare PUBG outfit that look kind of different on a male model, than on the female model... turning into a full crop top rather than just a sexy bra.

It's also one where the chest design etc would probably get covered pretty quick the moment a player gets a vest... but I haven't had either the opportunity... or the burning desire to test that.

Billy Gibbons – 75th anniversary of the leader of ZZ Top🎸

William Frederick Gibbons was born on December 16, 1949 in a suburb of Houston, Texas in a creative family: His father was a pianist, conductor and worked for MGM. At the age of five, Billy's mother took Billy and his sister to an Elvis concert; and at seven, he was present with his father in the studio at the recording of BB King. Billy started his musical career as a percussionist, but at the age of thirteen he found his first electric guitar. Billy went to California, where he combined his studies at the Warner Brothers School of Art with work in local teams. He would return to Texas and organize The Moving Sidewalks; the band played psychedelic rock that was fashionable at the time and recorded several singles and one LP. The team was lucky to be "opening for" Jimi Hendrix, and he will teach a young colleague some guitar lessons. In 1969, Gibbons organized ZZ Top (he also came up with the name). After several line-up changes, the band will find its unmistakable style: hard rock, boogie, blues and southern rock. (No less recognizable beards will appear later). In 1971, the trio debuted with the longplay "ZZ Top's First Album"; according to Gibbons: "... we named it so as to make it clear that others will follow. At the same time, we were not sure that we would get another chance in the studio, but we really hoped for it." The band's second studio album, "Rio Grande Mud" in 1972, will be in the middle of the US Billboard 200 rating, and "Tres Hombres" in 1973 will reach the 8th position, becoming gold in the USA and Canada.

Over the following decades, ZZ Top would sell over 50 million copies of their recordings; in 2004, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. All these years, Billy remained the guitarist, main songwriter and lead vocalist of the trio; in 2015, Rolling Stone ranked him 32nd on the list of the greatest guitarists of all time. The 15th studio album, "La Futura", was released in 2012 and successfully performed on the charts. In 2021, Dusty Hill died; according to his wishes, guitar technician Elwood Francis took the place of the bassist. According to Gibbons, Hill managed to record his parts for the new album. In addition to ZZ Top, Gibbons has appeared in films, on TV, released three solo albums, a book and participated in projects of many musicians, including Nickelback, Queens of the Stone Age, BB King, Kid Rock, Sammy Hagar, Jeff Beck and John Fogerty. In 2005, Gibbons married his long-term girlfriend Gillian Stillwater. Billy is a fanatical collector of retro cars; his 1933 Ford Coupe, known as the "Eliminator", is featured in several ZZ Top videos and on the cover of one of the albums.

The Best Friends Deserve Bester

Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta have been teaming together as The Best Friends since August 2013. In January 2014, they won PWG's Dynamite Duumvirate Tag Team Title Tournament, becoming number one contenders to the PWG World Tag Team Championship. They lost their subsequent challenge against The Young Bucks at Mystery Vortex II. The only other time Chuck and Trent have competed for those titles was at 2019's Hand of Doom where they lost to The Rascalz. What that means is that out of seven teams who won the PWG DDT4 between 2007 and 2015, The Best Friends are the only ones to have never held the PWG World Tag Team Championship.

Alright, well maybe they had better luck in NJPW. Trent's a four-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion with Rocky Romero. If Roppongi Vice can succeed, then I'm sure The Best Friends can... come fourth in the B Block in the 2017 World Tag League and finish eighth overall in the 2018 League.

No, that make sense. Best Friends as a team have always been predominantly American based. What about their ROH run in 2017? I know they had a few title matches there.

It can't be that hard to take pictures of a bunch of firefighters for a good cause, even if they're posing shirtless.

Song Review: Aoife O’Donovan - “King of All Birds” (Paste - 2015)

As a lovelorn avian, Aoife O’Donovan has a message for her latest suitor:

Pull my feathers one by one/put ’em in your pocket when I’m gone

She’s singing “King of All Birds” as captured Dec. 17, 2015, at Paste Studios and backed by Anthony da Costa’s electric guitar and Steve Nistot’s hit-with-brushes drums. Da Costa is particularly essential, recreating the studio version’s string arrangement on six strings while O’Donovan leads the decidedly Mitchellesque number.

Anyone that I might want in this world/they’re asleep in the arms of another girl/who will they be when the lights come up/everyone that I ever loved in my life/now calls somebody else their wife/who am I to you, she sings.

Originally recorded during the In the Magic Hour promotional cycle, “King of All Birds” was re-released as a standalone. And the song and O’Donovan’s quirky psychedelic-folk trio sound as powerful as ever.

Oh, so we're finally able to have a conversation on how Saint Elizabeth II put her head in the sand when the big moments came?

With confirmation that Prince Andrew has been invited to spend time with the King at Balmoral later this month, it emerges that when the Epstein-related allegations against him were revealed in 2015, the late Queen was quite dismissive of them. Three senior members of the Royal Household wrote to Her Majesty suggesting it would be wise if Andrew were suspended from royal duties pending a full inquiry. The trio received a curt reply conveying the royal displeasure from an assistant private secretary.  And their invitations to the staff Christmas party that year appeared to have got lost in the post.

Spooky Supplemental - The Vampires of Stakes!

Having grown tired of the limitations of being a vampire, Marceline the Vampire Queen, asked her girlfriend, Princess Bubblegum to use her scientific acumen to devise a means of reversing her vampirism.  Bubblegum succeeded and extracted the vampire essence from Marceline.  Unexpectedly, this essence gained sentience and took on the form of five powerful vampires… vampires Marceline had battled in the past and slew with a stake through their hearts.  

These resurrected vampires included The Fool, The Empress, The Hierophant, The Moon and The Vampire King.  Each of these vampires possessed the various powers Marceline had once wielded and slaying the Vampire King is what transformed her into a vampire in the first place.  

The five vampires proceeded to wreak havoc all across The Land of Ooo.  A now de-powered Marceline accompanied the heroes, Jake and Finn, in tracking down the villains.  She succeeded in staking The Fool and, as he perishes, Marceline reabsorbed his power of flight.  She then learned that The Empress had traveled to the Ice Kingdom to accrue troops.  The trio intervened and Marceline succeeded in slaying The Empress (thus returning to her the power of invisibility).  

Next the heroes took down The Hierophant and Marceline regained the power of transformation.  Yet she was gravely injured in the battle and was taken back to Princess Bubblegum for treatment.  She would have succumbed to this injury, but for the fact that Finn and Jake were able to defeat The Moon, bestowing Marceline her former power of immortality.  

Fully healed, Marceline prepared to battle The Vampire King.  In an unexpected twist, however, The King decided that he did not wish to battle.  He no longer wanted to be a vampire and offered his vampiric essence willingly… resulting in his transforming into a lion who ran off.

Marceline did not wish to accept her former title as the Vampire Queen and this caused the disembodied essence to explode into a menacing entity known as The Dark Cloud.  Marceline engaged in battle with this entity and was only able to defeat it by reabsorbing its essence and accepting her fate as queen of the vampires.  

She succeeded and the Land of Ooo was saved.  Marceline and Bubblegum then resolved to cope with the limitations of Marceline’s vampirism as best they could.

The Fool, The Empress, The Hierophant, The Moon and The Vampire King were voiced by actors Ron Funches, Rebecca Romijn, Paul Williams, Beau Billingslea and Billy Brown respectively; Olivia Olson voiced Marceline.  The villainous vampires appeared in episodes six through thirteen of the seventh season of Adventure Time, initially airing on November 16th, 2015.

For the penultimate show in their 2019 Warm Up holiday tour, the merry gentlemen of VoicePlay headed to southeastern Pennsylvania. They spread some holiday cheer with their signature blend of vocal skill and crowd-pleasing antics.

Most of these recordings are missing the very beginnings of the songs, but that's just because the audience member was too busy enjoying their performance to prioritize acting as a videographer. And we can't really blame her for that.

Even though it was a holiday show, the guys also sprinkled in some tunes from the rest of their catalogue. This recent addition to their repertoire is as vocally challenging as it is lyrically touching.

Can you believe I've been wording this ask since 2015? So, do you believe Munakata feels envy for the intimacy that seems to be downright denied for him? Like, in some ways, Fushimi and Mikoto are similar to him in one aspect or other, making certain kinship possible, but he doesn't share an intimacy with them, or anyone. For all the similarities, both, Fushimi and Mikoto, shared a strong (even if limited, 'cause issues) intimacy with Yata in case of the former, and Totsuka and Kusanagi in case of the second; Munakata, as long as we know, has never had something like that.

Oh this is an interesting point, I get what you mean that it’s a little hard to word (well, would the short version be ‘Munakata has no friends’ XD). Obviously it’s bit more complex than ‘has no friends’ but it’s sorta similar, basically while Mikoto and Fushimi both have very strong ties with other people and are able to share a lot of private thoughts and moments that they wouldn’t with other people Munakata has pretty much always been an ‘other’ since he was a kid and he doesn’t really have that one intimate presence that he can confide in. He’s close with Fushimi and Awashima but even then it isn’t the same, they both care for him and he feels comfortable speaking to them but there isn’t really the same depth of relationship there that you see in, say, the Homra trio who have been together since high school and knew Mikoto before he was a King — to Totsuka and Kusanagi Mikoto is ‘Mikoto’ first before the Red King, whereas as long as Fushimi and Awashima have known Munakata he’s always been the Blue King.

I feel like this is something Munakata might have some sadness over and even perhaps a bit of envy but at the same time it’s something he accepts and wouldn’t let ruin him. Sorta similar to how he feels about his very normal family — there’s a bit I like in Case Files where Munakata’s family is described as ‘the kite has bred a hawk’ but that ‘the hawk loved the kite,’ that even though Munakata is so markedly different from his family he still cares for them and knows they care for him. I feel like Munakata is someone who has really known for a long time that he wasn’t like other people and that he had a greater destiny/purpose and he’s basically long settled within himself the idea that this means there are certain aspects of ‘normal’ life that he may be unable to have. 

I could see him having a somewhat wistful feeling when discussing this sort of intimacy that he wasn’t able to achieve, like it’s an experience he would have liked to have but at the same time he’s accepted that it’s a trade-off for becoming a King (and particularly the type of King he is — I feel like the concept of ‘King’ is much more ingrained in Munakata’s very being than it is in, say, Mikoto’s, who never particularly wanted to be King in the first place). Munakata does still seek out other forms of intimacy and connection — hence all the bonding — but I think he’s aware and has accepted that in order to become the ideal of a King that he wishes to be there may be some things that are sacrificed.

ANGRY BIRDS

Angry Birds is a puzzle based video game, Created by Rovio Entertainment. The first Angry Birds game released on December, 2009. The game series focuses on the colourful angry birds who try to save their eggs from green coloured Pigs. Later angry birds renamed to “Angry Birds Classic”. The gameplay players using a slingshot to launch the birds at green Pigs stationed in different structures, with destroying all the Pigs on the field. CHARACTERS

Red

The leader of the Angry Birds, Red sums up the group perfectly with his grumpy demeanour and defiant attitude that fuels his fight against the pigs. With his best friends Chuck and Bomb, as well as the rest of his flock of airborne assailants, Red has led many assaults against the Piggy Kingdom, in order to save the precious bird eggs from the stomach of King Pig.

Chuck – Yellow Bird

Second-in-command of the Angry Birds troupe, and quite possibly the fastest bird in the world. His super-speed abilities to do anything from stopping time, to manifesting miraculous air boosts, makes him an invaluable member of Red’S Flock,

Bomb

The most explosive of the Angry Birds, Bomb is a trusted friend of Red and a consistent member of the team. With his destructive powers, he’s one of the most well-equipped to take down strongholds and fortresses, and his fitting short-fuse attitude makes him even more of a danger to the short-snouted inhabitants of the Piggy Kingdom.

Matilda

Matilda is the least aggressive of the Angry Birds by far, but that doesn’t make her useless. In fact, Matilda is one of the better weapons against the Piggy Kingdom, with her special ability to lay explosive eggs all over the hideouts standing in her way.

The Blues, Jim, Jake, and Jay are a trio of Angry Birds who attack as one, flying as a collective before releasing into a cluster that hits three different targets. Despite the bags under each of their eyes, the Blues are a lively bunch, adding a good bit of youthful energy to the grumpy Angry Birds gang.

Terence

The strongest avian of the core Angry Birds crew, Terence is the last thing an unsuspecting pig wants to see rain down on them. He’s also the archetypal strong but silent type, hardly ever dipping into conversation with Red and the rest of the flock.

Hal

Hal, the green boomerang bird, is another welcome member of Red’s flock. He’s also the musician of the Angry Birds gang, often seen with his trusty banjo.

King Pig

The supreme leader of the Piggy Kingdom, King Pig Smooth Cheeks is the evil force at play in the Angry Birds universe, on his twisted campaign to steal the bird eggs from Red and the gang.

Ross – Freckles

Originally and informally known as Freckles, Ross the pig is one of the most frequently recurring characters in Angry Birds, acting as a stand-in for any common pig, and almost always ending up worse for wear thanks to Red’s flock.

Corporal Pig

Commander of the army that supposedly protects the Piggy Kingdom, Corporal Pig is distinguishable from the rest of the swine by his bucket helmet, but he still falls hard in battle just like the rest.

HISTORY

Life is cruel. Who understands that better than its own being?

Xerneas came into existence alongside Yveltal in the dead of winter. If the two were an advent or response none could say, but soon after them came the mortals. For all that Xerneas and others consider Xerneas as such, Xerneas is not a god. It is more accurate to say Xerneas is a personification of or vessel for the force of life itself.

Worship of the Yggdrasil Trio started with the earliest human populations in Kalos. The ‘purest’ forms of worship Xerneas received were considered archaic only a few generations after they began and were lost to the ages tens of thousands of years ago.

For the first few generations of worshipers, Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde were worshiped together as three heads of a polytheistic religion. Most homes had a shrine for each member of the Trio, while temples dedicated to a single one would house shrines to the other two in places of prominence. When the worshipers began to choose favorites was when the divide between the Yggdrasil Trio appeared.

The rift affected Yveltal and Xerneas’ relationship the most, very nearly turning the two against one another. Only within the last fifty or so years were they able to reconcile; a slow process that is still underway.

Even with the distance between them, Xerneas never resented Yveltal’s place in the cycle. Xerneas views it as a necessary end, a means to keep the delicate balance between them. Tip too far in one direction and the ecosystem is doomed.

Roughly three thousand years ago, Xerneas and Yveltal became involved with the humans of Kalos to bring an end to a war. Known to the king under both its human aliases, Xerneas attempted to reason with AZ against the fighting. The king’s grief over the loss of his Pokémon sent him over the edge and he trapped Xerneas to use its energy to finish the war once and for all. Its energy depleted, Xerneas reverted to its tree form....

...And woke in the present day to one of AZ’s descendants attempting to do the same. Standing against the man was a sixteen year old girl by the name of Freya. Xerneas was once more imprisoned, this time being captured within an Ultra Ball. While Xerneas initially hated Freya for her actions, she slowly won Xerneas over through patience, hard work, and lots of cupcakes. During one of her outings Xerneas saved her life and in doing so revealed the ability to shift forms.

APPEARANCE

Xerneas is gendeerless, and accepts any pronouns when addressed or spoken of. It has mostly been referred to as “he” and “it” throughout its existence. Xerneas uses a basic form of glamour when taking on a human guise. As there is little more thought put into it than “look human” Xerneas’ form appears different to each person, as their minds are filling in the gaps with their own details. Are they speaking to a man? A woman? Someone outside the spectrum? It all depends on them.

Some variables remain more or less consistent: Xerneas’ human form is always tall, between 5′10″ and 7′. There’s always a tint of blue about the hair, and as Xerneas has no need to eat the form appears on the unhealthy side of thin. As it’s an illusion rather than shifting his form, standing in front of a reflective surface will show Xerneas as he looks in truth. Xerneas’ weight and limbs are concentrated in the image his glamour produces, so there’s no concern about his horns.

Among other Pokémon, and very few select humans, Xerneas uses its true name. Depending on if a human views Xerneas as more masculine or feminine, they will use the monikers “Xerxes” or “Xenia”.

Xerneas’ Pokémon form changes as well through one of two ways. The first is that Xerneas reverts to its tree form. The second is through the real-life understanding of evolution. That over time, a species will evolve to adapt to its environment. Xerneas is his own species, so he himself undergoes the evolutionary process over generations. This change is gradual and not something he has control over. It is instinctual, and happens all on its own.

Each variation of his Pokémon form will have similarities. Xerneas will always look like a Xerneas. He will retain a cervine structure and always have antlers, though the number and display may vary. The same color palette is always retained. (The header image is how Xerneas currently looks.)

PERSONALITY

Xerneas, as most older legendary Pokémon, has a vastly different moral system than humans, non-legendary Pokémon, and younger legendaries. When mortals followed Yveltal and Xerneas into existence they were viewed as lesser creatures. Despite his interactions with humans and other Pokémon, Xerneas still views most Pokémon as beneath himself and other legendaries. Humans he considers an outright danger. Those few select humans he’s bonded with he views as an exception rather than a hint he might want to reconsider his stance on humanity.

In interactions with others Xerneas remains somewhat aloof until given reason or proof to trust someone further. Xerneas has a lot of pride, and doesn’t take well to it being challenged. In short, he’s an asshole.

Xerneas is cautiously open to new romantic relationships. Be aware though that he has quite recently lost several of those he considered family, and his response to grief is to close himself off to outsiders. While it can be difficult to scratch beneath the shields Xerneas has put on over the millennia, do so and one will find a friend or partner who will truly cherish them forever.

ABILITIES

REJUVENATION

If injured sufficiently, or brought as near to death as it can be, Xerneas enters stasis. In its tree form Xerneas will heal whatever forced it to rejuvenate, as well as any minor injuries or scars it gained since its last stasis state. Xerneas, while generally aware of the passage of time, is otherwise unawares of whatever happens around it. On average these states last between fifty and one hundred years, with some lasting as long as three hundred. He doesn’t like to talk about the three thousand year outlier.

REANIMATION

Xerneas has the power to bring back the dead. Normally, there would be limits to what a person can do to revive another. So long without breathing, heartbeat, brain activity, or other major function, and people stay dead. Not so with Xerneas.

However, Xerneas doesn’t touch reanimation for several reasons. One, it goes against the cycle that Zygarde represents. Even without Zygarde as a medium, Xerneas would stay away from the act. Once a creature is dead, or clearly bound for death, he considers it in Yveltal’s realm. He leaves it there out of both respect and duty.

Second, reanimation’s gross. Xerneas gives life. He doesn’t heal it. If an injury killed whoever or whatever Xerneas brought back, that injury would likely kill it again. Xerneas doesn’t take the second factor into account. He merely sees reanimation and the reversal of death as a perverse act against Zygarde’s cycle.

Limits to the ability: Any animal or plant that had been processed for food. Dead tissue and cells. Skeletons. After a certain point in decomposition, a body is no longer viable and cannot be reanimated.

ARTIFICIAL CONCEPTION

Not insemination, conception. This works best with the would-be mother, though it will work with the father as well. If a child is made with Xerneas’ aid, there are two things to note. One: the child will be unable to conceive. Two: it will have an incomplete set of DNA. If it was the mother Xerneas helped especially, the child will be almost a carbon copy of the parent’s genetics, aside from the occasional gap in the genome. Overall, the child will be a type of artificial life.

As opposed to reanimation, Xerneas has no qualms preforming this feat. He’s the being of life giving life to something new. It only affects the cycle insomuch as he helped create a being that will someday go to Yveltal.

FAIRY AURA

The default mode for Fairy Aura is ‘on’. It produces a calming atmosphere around Xerneas that reduces hostility and soothes nerves. Fairy-type Pokémon are more sensitive to the aura, and will be drawn to Xerneas if he is within a few miles. If he is close enough they will receive a small boost to their power. Dragon-types can be adversely affected by this, while Steel-types may not feel its effects.

If he so wishes, Xerneas can turn the ability off. He can also harness the ability to do the reverse of its innate use and repel others away from him. Each takes a considerable amount of focus and the ability will revert to its original purpose if he does not consciously keep the change active.

MISCELLANEOUS

Technically, Xerneas is no longer owned. Freya’s an active muse and the blogs will likely overlap, but Xerneas’ blog is far enough along that in his most present of verses she’s dead. Xerneas isn’t sure what this means in terms of if it’s possible for another trainer to catch him.

Back before the Kalosian war Xerneas had no fighting style. Not to say Xerneas couldn’t hold his own, but he avoided fighting. After battling with Freya, as a league Pokémon no less, he developed an instinct for it. He still prefers things not come to blows, but he’s more likely to instigate a fight.

Xerneas is incapable of killing. He may wish to, he may bring someone as close to it as possible, but he cannot physically kill. Expect a miraculous survival, though not recovery, if one pushes him that far.

When not roaming Kalos as he is most prone to do, Xerneas resides in the forest where he and Yveltal first came into being. Or, maybe it’s two forests now. Over time one half died off until only dried stems and barren trees remained, as the other continued to flourish. Xerneas’ half of the forest teams not only with plant life, but with wildlife. The Pokémon live there peacefully, as Xerneas does not tolerate conflict within his and Yveltal’s haven. Should they wish to fight, they must leave. Humans are free to come so long as they go.

Xerneas keeps a hut for his human form and any human-shaped guests. Its only furnishings are a sofa just long enough to not be called a love seat, and a side-table with photographs of his family with Freya. Food containers come and go through the ages dependent on how social he is, while there tends to be a faucet of some design for water. Strangely, while all appliances work, none of them are ever hooked to a power source.

Xerneas is fluent in French and English. It used to be fluent in Latin, but as the language fell out of use Xerneas became rusty. He cannot read or write in any language. He’s ambidextrous, and dislikes being called “Xern”. Genders confuse him but he doesn’t care enough to ask. He hates puns. There seems to be an exception for the collection of “World’s Deerest Dad” mugs kept in his hut.
