BASICS
Full Name: Sarika Kamilla Vari Pronunciation: Suh-Ree-Kuh  Aliases, if any: Sari Date of Birth: October 28th, 2090 Age: 29 Gender: Female Nationality: Hungarian Religion, if applicable: Raised Catholic but she was never that religious. She just went to mass on special occasions to appease the people of her country. Parents’ names: Father - Solomon Vari, Mother - Leda Vari Siblings: One younger sister, one younger brother Current relationship status: Single Previous relationships: She was betrothed to the now deceased second in line to the German Royal family, Tristan Eckstein. He was the only one she had ever been with and she hasn’t been with anyone since his death.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Height: 5’8 Build: Average Hair colour: Brown Eye colour: Blue Glasses/contacts: None Tattoos: None Piercings: Both ears are pierced. Typical clothing style: These days Sarika usually dresses in designer casual clothes. Nothing can beat a pair of jeans, a nice sweater, and her converse tennis shoes. But in formal occasions she’s all glam. Dressed to the nines in the hottest designers of the time, she’s a knockout at all the galas. Distinguishing features (scars, birthmarks, freckles, etc): Her bright blue eyes have always been a primary focus to her physical description, people often telling her that they were hypnotizing or sometimes even intimidating. She has a birthmark on her left hip and she’s often been told by her mother that it looks like Buda castle. It became a long running joke that the mark was because she was ‘marked’ to be a great ruler for their country. Sarika also has a large scar on her wrist where she broke it and had to have surgery to let it heal properly. Dominant hand: Ambidextrous
HEALTH
Health issues or illnesses, if any: She had asthma as a child and had to carry an inhaler everywhere she went but luckily her symptoms gradually disappeared as she grew older. She still keeps an inhaler in her room just in case but she hasn’t had to use it since she was a teenager.  Allergies, if any: None. Exercise habits: She’s not huge into exercise or sports at all. If you do find her exercising it’s while doing some sort of dancing exercise like Zumba or dance classes on youtube. Dietary habits: She mostly eats whatever is put in front of her. She hasn’t met something she hasn’t liked before except raisins. Yes, raisins. When she’s feeling snacky she does usually go for a healthier alternative like almonds or dried fruit, only indulging now and then with something sweet.
PERSONALITY
Accent: She’s been training in different languages since she was five years old which included diction classes. Her accent is almost non-existent unless she’s angry or drunk and then it slips out. Speech style: She’s definitely not as formal as she used to be but her training still kicks in most of the time. She speaks with a mix of formality and casualness but the casual us mostly when she’s around people she knows. Most used word or phrase: “I’m okay.” and these days “You’re no fun.”  Do they curse?: Occasionally a curse will slip through but again, she’s been trained her whole life not to so it isn’t much of a habit. Any secrets? Most of her secrets have come to light, especially after her abdication when reporters started to really dig into her life. News of Tristan’s death hit Hungary after that along with how close Sarika had been to him but she hasn’t really let anyone know how much his death has messed her up. Now with Birdie’s death added to the mix she’s really not okay but she’s trying to make the world think she has it all under control. She does not. Not really. Top priority/ies: Right now her priorities are to live. With so much death surrounding her lately she’s really seeing the importance of having those life experiences that she never got to have with all the sacrifices she made throughout her life. Unfortunately, it’s hard to have those experiences when you’re forced into a little Russian town where her main dwelling is a tucked away castle. Most treasured possession: She has a handmade doll that belonged to Birdie. It was made by her mother and Sarika’s best friend had cherished it. Her mother gave it to Sarika at Birdie’s funeral and she keeps it in her room at all times. Addictions, if any: None. Though she’s on the long road to becoming an alcoholic. Phobias: All of her worst fears have come true. She truly has no real fear left. Compulsions/ habits: Whenever she has a glass in her hands she likes to run her fingers around the rim whenever she’s thinking of what she wants to say. Zodiac Sign: Scorpio Jung personality type: ESTP-T (the Entrepreneur) Moral alignment: Chaotic Good Primary intelligence type(s): Musical and Bodily/Kinesthetic Intelligence Love language(s): Responds to physical touch, love is as simple as a caress Hogwarts house: Ravenclaw
PERSONAL
Birth order (royal): Oldest of three. No longer Crown. Education level: Bachelors of the Arts with a specialization in cello with a minor in International Relations. Languages spoken: Fluent in Hungarian, English, German, Serbian, and Romanian. Conversationally in Slovak, Croatian, and Russian. Hobbies: Cello. (She doesn’t have many, her life has mostly been about ruling her country.)

“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.”  ― Edgar Degas
by Kamilla Razhabova
Before I joined this class, I had read about previous students’ experiences with this class and their recommendations like most students do nowadays. At that moment, I became curious and interested in the class that every single student, who had taken it, loved. I am a Digital Design major, so for me, this class was not mandatory, yet now I wish it would have been because the information I learned and connections I made are priceless. I learned a lot about myself, challenges an art educator faces, how to use art as the powerful tool to change society for the better and the importance of feeling safe and comfortable in one’s environment. From day one, we engaged in different activities, each of which was beneficial and transformative, helping me learn to work in a fast paced environment, finding a common ground with my classmates and combining ideas to convey specific messages through visuals.
Every single activity, whether it was a warm up exercise or a longer activity in a group, was necessary and intentional, focusing on different learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic or reading/writing) to accommodate such a diverse group of students. This is something I realized after I created my own lesson plan, which allowed me to put myself in the shoes of those who taught me complicated concepts through simplified and engaging activities. I learned to keep an open mind and question my own judgmental comments on classes I found unpleasant and useless at times. Most importantly, I realized and reassured myself in the accuracy of my own statement that people, including myself, are quick to judge something they have never tried before, whether it is creating a lesson plan or creating art in general. It is no surprise that to this day, some people do not take art seriously and do not understand the importance of it in the development of a person. Yet, art is undoubtedly an integral part of one’s growth as it allows one to express themselves creatively, reach out to a larger audience and communicate their values, beliefs, and feelings. Sharing any of these is what we do as humans, and how we contribute to society and change it accordingly.
Another favorite activity from the class is final art intervention, for which I did an extensive research on my subject (The news and propaganda), had conversations with people I know and complete strangers, therefore sparking discussions on the subject matter and thinking about how to transform people’s personal experiences into gifs/stickers, which would be shared and used by many people. I aimed at simplifying the activity as much as I possibly could for the audience while also recognizing the validity of stories I received. The type of approach I took reminded me of Tatyana Fazlalizadeh’s methods, who is an artist addressing street harassment through mural art. She would have conversations with people, and create their portraits with a phrase she associated with them or took directly from her discussions. In a similar way, I got inspired by opinions and personal stories I received both from my acquaintances and complete strangers. As a final step, I shared these gifs on social media for everyone to use, including people I interacted with, and even filled out an application for these stickers to be available on other social platforms like Instagram. I would have taken this class hundred times if it was possible, and each time I would certainly learn something new.
