So I did all of the Duolingo placement tests
Related to this post I saw a few requests to post the results of all my placement tests, so let's go! Long post and a lot of rambling ahead! So my friend and I did the tests chronologically (leaving the High Valyrian and Klingon out until the end in case we got too tired), but I'm going to group them up here in an order that makes sense.
Each of the numbers means the number of skills I've tested out of/the number of 'crowns' I got in each language. Since I got to complete the placement test 37 times in total, I could actually find out how it works. It is pretty hard to try and cheat your way through it with a language you don't know, because if the test picks up on a fact that you messed up a 'beginner sentence', it immediately sends you back to the basics. Due to this, some results were a tiny bit upsetting, but later on, I realised that this is just how the test works and is not necessarily reflective on one's language skills. Another thing that is super important - the test reflects your knowledge of the Duolingo course rather than your actual language knowledge. I could actually prove this 'theory' to myself later on with some results.
My 'main' languages aka the languages I did well on and I kind of expected to:
Irish 48 French 42 German 51 Honestly, I was a bit more open not to do so well on French since it's become quite rusty and I'm experiencing some kind of a mental block with it, but I still did quite well! As for German and Irish - I would have been so upset had I gotten a single mistake. And it has not happened in either case.
My native language: Czech 31 This one honestly made me lol, because I have made 2+ mistakes and the Duolingo course is just strange. It called me out on my use of nějaký and některý where I was like 'There's a difference? o.O' and at one point it used the verb 'left' for 'forgot', which I did figure out correctly, but it was yet another sign that the course/placement test isn't very accurate yet when it comes to Czech. Languages I did well on because they are similar to a language that i already speak: Spanish 12 Italian 14 (well, I briefly studied Italian, so some credit there as well) Portuguese 3 (surprising since I mostly guessed) Polish 24 Ukrainian 17 Yiddish 5 (I LOVED the Yiddish placement test! I will definitely try the Duolingo course)
Other languages I have done before: Welsh 3 Esperanto 9 I was quite disappointed in both of these (Welsh broke my heart!) but I think this is just a testament that the placement tests aren't reflective of your language knowledge, but of your Duolingo topics knowledge. I haven't done much of Welsh or Esperanto on Duolingo since I studied them at university. I'm not fluent in either, so it really boils down to what I was taught. More proof are the next languages Dutch 22 Scottish Gaelic 20 These are the two lanuages I have studied almost exclusively on Duolingo only. I also definitely have a better knowledge of Welsh and Esperanto than Gaelic and Dutch. But the tests went much much better for these, because I already knew the topics that Duolingo was going to ask me. And now for the Nordic languages: Swedish 18 Norwegian 16 Danish 7
Honestly, I think it's hilarious that I did better at Swedish than Norwegian, when the only reason I did well at Swedish was because of Norwegian. Also, the articles are still super confusing to me and it was a source of many frustrating mistakes! Speaking of mistakes - I don't think that the test takes into account what kind of mistakes you made. It could be a missing article (which imo is a pretty minor one) or you could pick an adjective for a verb and both of the mistakes will be marked down the same. This one was pretty frustrating and prevented me from doing well on languages that I was actually okay at. Languages I've failed and it was quite upsetting: Korean 0 Russian 0 Latin 0 I have been learning some Korean on Lingodeer (mostly reading Hangul), so I expected to utilise some of these skills on Duolingo. Not the case. My Russian - I can read and understand - just like Ukrainian that I did pretty well on in comparison.... and it all boiled down to me confusing some things and not knowing what 'a horse' was. Boom, 'let's start from the basics'. Same with Latin - I have studied it briefly and was able to understand, but I haven't touched it in a while and completely forgot some minor things, which the placement test picked up on immediately. Also! When you're not doing well, the placement test almost taunts you! They keep giving you the same stuff over and over until you remember it and it feels like there's some hope for you. But no, still back to basics! it's quite mean! haha And here's the languages I have also failed, but it wasn't surprising:
Japanese 0 Mandarin 0 Hindi 0 Arabic 0 Turkish 0 Greek 0 (this is an example of the one I thought I was doing well on) Vietnamese 0 Hebrew 0 Indonesian 0 Hawaiian 0 Finnish 0 (bit sad since I really want to learn Finnish) Romanian 0 (I was super surprised here since I somewhat expected to be able to understand it more) Swahili 0 (again I really enjoyed it! Will check out the course on my actual account) Hungarian 0 (another one i thought I did well on haha) Navajo 0 (also will check out the course!) And the fictional ones - no one's surprised, even though High Valyrian was giving me some hope: High Valyrian 0 Klingon 0 Also, is this a testament of how eurocentric my language interest is? Yep, pretty much. I am quite aware and I'd like to broaden my interests, but then again, it's not that easy. Still all in all, this was so much fun, even though it was a bit tiring and frustrating at times. However, once you find out that there's no point in trying to bs the languages you don't know/recognise anyway, then it gets a bit easier. Let me know if you try and honestly, congrats if you've read up until here, I don't even have the patience to re-read this post :D @dutch-polyglot , @anthropologicle and everyone else who liked/reblogged :)

ण is the twenty-ninth letter of the Hindi script and the last of the five retroflex consonants. It's a voiced retroflex nasal, ie. an n-sound pronounced in the same place as the other retroflex consonants.
Like previous nasals ङ and ञ, ण either doesn't usually appear at the beginning of a word in Hindi. However, ण often appears as a stand-alone consonant, especially at the end of Sanskrit originating words such as:
कारण [kāraṇ] - cause, reason (masculine) स्मरण [smaraṇ] - memory, recollection (masculine) अनुकरण [anukaraṇ] - imitation, mimicry (masculine) साधारण [sādhāraṇ] - ordinary, common (adjective) दर्पण [darpaṇ] - mirror (masculine)
For a language learner pronouncing these words may take some practice because your tongue will not be in the right place automatically since there necessarily isn't another adjoining retroflex around to guide it (which is the case for the previous n-sounds ङ and ञ only appearing together with their own kind of consonants). Instead, we need to remember the extra effort of pressing the tongue against the roof of the mouth to make it sound right.
This letter has a Uttara Devanagari variant looking like this:
Where ण is pronounced with other retroflex consonants, it behaves exactly like the previous nasals - it's often replaced by anusvār but the explicit conjunct consonant variant makes an occasional appearance:
अंडा = अण्डा [aṇḍā] - egg (masculine) घंटा = घण्टा [ghaṇṭā] - hour (masculine) ठंड = ठण्ड [ṭhaṇḍ] - cold (feminine)

Written accent marks... how do they work?
Sometimes, things just have accent marks.
Other times, you’re going to go into esdrújula rules.
And this is a very tedious lesson and it can be difficult to parse well, so it’s better to look up videos and additional resources on it, but I’ll try my best to explain it briefly:
A word in Spanish is typically understood to be either aguda [sharp], llana / grave [flat / serious], or esdrújula
Words that are aguda have the vocal/tonic stress on the final syllable. For example, all infinitive verbs are aguda. The verb comer for example is co-MER with the stress on the final syllable aguda words have an accent mark if they have their vocal stress on the last syllable and end in a vowel, or the consonants N or S This would be words like Belén which is either a name or the word “Bethlehem” in the Bible, or Japón “Japan”, or a word like el compás which is “rhythm” or “tempo”, or el bambú “bamboo” or hindú “Hindu” [sometimes also “Hindi” or “from India”] With vowels that’s why you see accent marks on certain conjugations like leyó, escribí, miré and so on You also see this sometimes with foreign or loanwords... cliché, or glacé “frosted/candied” or sometimes “frozen”, or samurái which is slightly weird [but ai is usually a diphthong so it counts as one syllable] And it includes the masculine form of many nationalities: inglés “English”, alemán “German”, danés “Danish/Dane”, japonés “Japanese Words that end in any other letter but that still have the tonic stress on the final syllable don’t have an accent: el corral “corral/fence”, el manzanar “apple orchard”, la moral “morals” or el moral “mulberry tree / blackberry bush” or moral being the adjective “moral”, or el marfil “ivory”, la ciudad “city”, la sociedad “society”, la majestad “majesty”
Words that are llana or grave have their tonic stress on the 2nd to last syllable [sometimes called “penultimate”] They have an accent mark if they have their tonic stress on the 2nd to last syllable and end in any letter BESIDES a vowel, or N or S So for example el árbol “tree”, el mármol “marble” [material], el almíbar “syrup/compote” [sort of like a sugary sauce], or el alcázar “military fortress / fortified castle” But most words are llana because they typically end in -a or -o, and most have no accent, which means they usually are stressed on the 2nd to last syllable... liso/a “smooth”, tierno/a “tender”, dulce “sweet”, la biblioteca “library”, el libro “book” And because most words have their stress on the 2nd to last syllable, the plural forms of things often have no accent... los monos “monkeys”, las llamadas “calls”, exigentes “demanding” [pl], inteligentes “smart” [pl], rojos/rojas “red” [pl] This is why most feminine nationalities have no accent mark as opposed to the masculine ones. While inglés has its stress on the last syllable, saying inglesa puts the stress on the 2nd to last syllable because it added another syllable with the A... alemana, danesa, japonesa Another example might be el imán “magnet” which is grave, but when you change it to plural los imanes it becomes llana and so it loses the accent mark
And then there’s esdrújula which means the tonic stress goes on the 3rd to last syllable [antepenultimate], and they carry an accent mark, regardless of what it ends with These include words ending in -ifico, or -atico... simpático/a “nice”, magnífico/a “magnificent”, la página “page”, difícil “difficult”, científico/a “scientific / scientist”, la brújula “compass”, and words like that You’ll also find many examples of words BECOMING esdrújula by adding a plural ending or adding more things to it... So la imagen and el examen are both llana, but las imágenes and los exámenes became esdrújula This same thing happens with verbs when you add indirect and direct objects or sometimes reflexives. So dame “give me” is a command and it’s llana but then dámelo “give it to me”. Or mandarlo “to send it” to mandárselo “to send it to someone” The thing here is that the tonic stress didn’t change, you just added more syllables
Oh and in most cases, monosyllabic words don’t carry accent marks unless it’s irregular. So vi, vio, di, dio etc... But you still have weirdness like el día “day” and sé as either “I know” or the command form of ser This sort of thing happened to el guion “script” Growing up it was el guión pronounced gui-ON. The decision was made later to treat it as all one syllable, and so it lost the accent mark... el guion pronounced like “gyon”
In most cases, the changes between what type of word it is don’t impact spelling... tercer “third (masculine)” is technically aguda, but tercera “third (feminine)” is technically llana but there’s no change
And árbol, fácil, and útil are all llana but as plural árboles, fáciles, útiles are technically esdrújula, and no change there either as far as spelling.
So, anyway, it’s kind of complicated but Spanish goes out of its way to make it so anyone can speak or pronounce Spanish properly if they know the rules. It’s just that you don’t often get taught the rules when you’re learning it as a second language.
Again I highly recommend looking more into esdrújula rules to see it more in action

16 Years Of Kunal Karan Kapoor. (Fan -messages)
Thank you kunal karan kapoor,You'd entered my life as an actor but now you are not an actor for me but a family member, friend, well-wisher, true love, inspiration and my idol 🤩 I know these words are less to describe you... You might be suprise how you became these all... I can explain! A family member, How? Aren't you excited for every success of your family member.. Don't you always want to support and be there for him with or without anyone.. Don't you feel happy for the relationship desicions, birthdays etc of your family member.. Yes right then you are a part of my family too... Friend.. How? Like I talk to my friend, like I tag my friend, like I celebrate my friend's birthday, like I have all the concern on him and his future I have on you too... Then what about well wisher..? You don't know me right.. Then how can you became well wisher of mine? Basically you wish good for all your fans... Hence you are my well wisher... But speaking in depth a well wisher always motives us in every part of life.. And you do that by your character mohan.. When I feel too low and feel why me always I'm good but I don't get good... I see mohan saying to megha just because you are good not all others are good too... After he rescued her from their boss... That motivates me that time... Nextly whenever I have suicidal thoughts.. Yeah I have some... I see mohan motivating megha of the sunrise after the dark night... I feel you are saying to me not to quit... And at times when I cry I see the scene where you suddenly pop from the door and ask megha not to cry and you console her by your actions.. Yeah I immediately stop crying when I see that... See you have your magic in all of my life... So now you are my well wisher right? Then true love... It doesn't only mean life partner... But it is the people whom we love without any need and intention... It is pure... I have no exact reason to love you hence you are my true love... And would also wish a person with more similarities. Next you are my inspiration by the life you live which all other fail.. Following your heart and doing your passion.. This may look simple but that is practically not simple as that... And needs so much of guts to take a desicions of this sort... We can be happy if we follow our heart everyone knows... But we need someone to do that set an example and lead in that way.. So you always inspire me in that sort... Every time I see your travel pictures I think see how independent he is... Must live a life like this fulfilling our dreams... So you directly or indirectly shape my whole life... ❤ And finally idol... Do I need to explain this further... The whole message is the reason why I look up you as an idol... And I wish that you must be born either as my father, brother, best friend, my life partner or maybe my son 😂 why as an actor that too that far... So that I can't see you are make you my own... You are an public figure...But I want you as my private person 😂 maybe in next birth ( you decide the relationship between us.. I'm ok with anything) so finally thank you KKK... Be proud of you always... Getting rich fame or anything else is easy... But getting someone who considers you as a family is something spl you have that... ❤ Be always proud of yourself because you have done something wonderful by spreading positivity and changing someone's life in a positive way... Good luck, good health and happiness to you always..With love your fan. - Janani Praseena
Firstly I started to watch nenjam pesudhey for Ashnoor because her cuteness in Jhansi rani….slowly I become fan of your bond with Ashnoor your slang your hair, nose everything…sometime I really wish to pull your nose once in my lifetime …and the highlight of your acting is, you just not acted ,you lived the character…the day is incomplete without talking about you every day. We use to talk about you serial episodes in our lunchtime, not even care about our board exams 😁….whenever you wink your eyes it makes me blush 🙈💘…still some of my friends have saved my contact number as dhevayanimohan that’s how much I love you and make everyone ears filled with blood 😁… my relation said she would definitely marry a Hindi boy…you made a powerful impact.. I started to cry when the serial is over. Then my mom bought a phone. In that I download lot and lots of pictures videos of your…once she opens her phone it only filled with your photos..i wish my partner would be same like you, sharp nose, joined eyebrows, curly hair expressive eyes. If I was born as a boy, I would also put a tattoo like your tattoo. Recently I seen some of your left right left episodes, in that I loved your lady getup 😂😂😂 You perfectly do your responsibility what the director wants…cuteness overloaded in some of your previous work like Varun's character …Every time everywhere proposing scene came you nailed it very well. It makes an impact in my heart… like you just proposed me😍😍…You are my first love you taught me to blush ….Thank you for everything and entertaining us and also you gave some new feelings 😍 - Dhevayani

(TAMILNADU)
Every new day, you bring reasons to see better perspective for life. Your interviews inspire me that how important it is to be grounded, to appreciate people around us who put immense hardwork for our success as well. The best thing I learned from you is not to take success in our heads. The way you stay calm when Strom passes in and stay calm when the dawn of happiness shine. Your mysterious nature too encourages me to work hard in life…your liveliness motivates to be a dreamer in true sense, your words have the power to make us realize the importance of smallest tiny things to larger one and its impact. Your 'being grateful’ nature inspired me in becoming a more thankful person to what I’ve received. Your selfless approach gives a mark for me to be like that. The main thing commendable about you is that 'not every negativity deserves our reaction’ this very thing is enough for dealing with lots in our lives. Through the characters (professionally) and personally you have been an ideal sight for people like me. No actor has ever changed me like the way you did. My words won’t stop and the reason is you. Thank you, our sweetheart, the miraculous our K. God bless you ❤️ - Nidhi Chillinsilencee

Love And Sacrifice
I know super late na blog na ito but I'm still going to write it anyways. No reasons, I just have to. I've had good birthdays these past few years but for some reasons, I didn't really feel na complete or 100 percent happy yung birthday celebrations ko. Either something or someone's missing, I don't know.
This year, I changed things a bit. No major celebration other than a simple dinner. And when I say simple, I meant "SIMPLE". Nag-order lang ako from Jollibee and bumili ng ice cream and that was it. Oh diba, ang simple lang talaga! For some reason, the only things that I looked forward to was attending a mass and eating some burgers. Weird pero my annual birthday burger craving has been going on for like 3 years already. Hindi ko alam kung bakit at kung anong meron pero I couldn't say happy birthday to myself unless I have a burger in front of me. Okay lang kahit wala akong cake basta may burger ako. Ganong level sya sa akin! Hahaha! So, that's what I did. I ate a burger and I attended a mass after 99 years! Hindi ko na ma-remember yung last time that na nag-mass ako. Maybe it was a couple of months ago and I am not proud of it. Definitely not proud nor happy about it because one of my goals this year is to rebuild my faith and my relationship with God. I know the topic is kinda off. I also don't like discussing my "faith and relationship" with Him because I feel like I appear as pa-nice girl. And "nice" is one of the adjectives that I don't think suits me in aaany way! Hehe
So, as I was saying, matagal nga akong hindi nag-mass. I was looking forward to hearing the Gospel. Yun naman kasi talaga ang favorite part ko sa mass. It's what I always go there for kasi it makes me feel like I am getting a spiritual cleansing and counseling. It renews my faith, it makes me re-think my choices and my mistakes, how I interact with other people, how I treat other people, how I am as a person and the kind of heart that I have. It does all those things but on a deeper level. It makes me re-assess myself. Anyway, first time ko mag-attend ng mass sa church that is inside the mall. It was in Landmark, Makati. I was kinda hesitant about it at first kasi feeling ko hindi sya ganon ka-solemn kasi nga it's inside the mall. And it's NovemBER! Malls are crazy jampacked here every BER months (months that ends in "BER")! Kaya I was really amazed and impressed when I saw how solemn that church is and how devoted my fellow mass attendees were. You could tell from their faces na every single one of them went there not because they wanted to or someone asked them to but because they needed to. Malinaw ba yung pagkaka-describe ko? Hahaha! Okay, let me rephrase that. They were there because their hearts and souls yearns for it. Yung atmosphere was filled with everyone's neediness for God and their overflowing faith. I felt small and embarassed because my faith do not even come at par to theirs. Not that I'm comparing but I have never attended a mass having a spirit like theirs. You won't see a single person inside that church na natutulog or bored or whatever during the entire mass. Maybe I am the only one who looked bored because I kept a straight face the entire time. I always keep a straight face anyways! Hahaha! Even yung Lola na nasa front ko, tinalo ang faith ko. I guess she's around 90 years old. She has Alzheimer's or Dementia, I'm not sure which but you could tell from the way her son tends to her na may memory problems na sya. But even so, she kept quiet and listened intently to the mass. I couldn't keep my eyes off her. Namiss ko bigla yung Lola ko. I have never ever attended a mass with a crowd like that that's why I really had to write about it. Parang biglang naging favorite church ko na yun! Hehe
Another thing that really moved me that day was the main subject of the Gospel. It was about love and sacrifice. The priest said, you can't call it love if it doesn't affect you. And you can't call it a sacrifice if it also doesn't affect you. Kung mahal mo daw talaga ang isang tao, kailangan always ready ka na mag-sacrifice. Kailangan apektado ka sa lahat ng nangyayari. He also said something about forgiveness. I can't remember the exact thing he said because at that moment, parang biglang naging clouded ang isip ko. I suddenly started re-assessing myself. Nagmahal ba talaga ako? Apektado ba ako? Nag-sacrifice ba ako? - It was a quick YES deep inside me. Now am I ready to forgive? - NO. I'm not ready to forgive. Mahirap i-forgive ang taong hindi naman humihingi ng tawad sayo at walang nakikitang mali sa ginawa nila kahit na super obvious naman na meron, meron, meron! Sure, they had their reasons and I also have my reasons on why I'm choosing not to forgive. Hindi ko sinasabing forever ako magiging bitter ha! I don't want to sound selfish or madrama but hindi madali ang mga pinagdaanan ko in the past years and maybe sila din. But one thing I can admit is that everything that happened changed me on how I am now as a person and it's not a good one. Am I proud of who I am now? - No. I think the last couple of years was the best version of myself. The old saying is true. Pain changes people. But I know this is part of the process to healing. Process na almost 2 years ko na yatang pinagdadaanan. Hehe. At wala akong balak na madaliin ang sarili ko because naniniwala ako sa due process of law! Hahaha! Simple logic lang naman yan. Mas malalim ang sugat, mas matagal gumaling. Ang magagawa ko lang para sa sarili ko right now is to appease myself in knowing that in the end, sa lahat ng mga nangyari, whatever or with whoever it is, it's all going to be worth it. I hope you are worth it.

Important Tips to improve English for competitive exams
English language plays a very determining part in any government exam. If you’re aspiring for any such examination, you need to have a good command over English language.
There are some competitive examinations, where questions are provided in Hindi or Regional languages also, but the fact remains, that there is a separate section in every exam where your knowledge of English is tested. This section carries no option for any other language, so you are kind of stuck in it.
To ease this difficulty, you need to lay down special emphasis over your language preparation so that you don’t lose marks due to lack of knowledge of English. Now, if you’re someone who is not too good at English or is average in studies, you need not to worry. Just follow some tips and keep up the hard work, soon you’ll have the knowledge that you seek. So, let’s get started!
Grammar- Grammar is the main essence of any language and to know a language you must have command over grammar part. The day you realize that you need to prepare for English, the first step you should be doing is, to ace its grammar. To understand the question or to answer the question, you need to know about how sentences are formed and what they mean. Do not directly go for heavy-heavy books of grammar, start with basic school books. Start with learning Part of Speech, Tenses, Narration and Voice. At first learn the rules then try to apply them in practical life. Once you start getting familiar with the rules, focus on things like Modals, Prepositions, Adjectives, Gerund, and Infinitive etc. In a few months, you’ll notice a change in your orientation. You will have knowledge of rules and their application. Then you can try some standard books of grammar such as Wren & Martin or S.P.Bakshi.
Vocabulary- Once you get an idea about the grammar, you must go for Vocabulary. Start with learning the words which you use daily, try to know the name of things that you use daily. Grab any dictionary and try to learn as many new words as you can. But remember to revise and use those words, otherwise you’ll forget them soon. A very good source of learning new words can be newspapers. I would also suggest you to listen to English Songs, Podcasts and videos; they introduce you with new meanings every day. Apart from this, you can search for specific pdfs of Vocabulary for your exam; there are plenty of those available on the internet. A very standard book for Vocabulary is “Word Power Made Easy “by Norman Lewis. This book covers 85% of your vocabulary if you grasp a hold on it. Always prepare Synonyms and Antonyms for every word, some questions are asked on this part also.
Bonus Tips for Vocabulary- Every person has capacity of learning new words. Some find it difficult to retain a lot of words. Here are two things that you can do-
(1) Divide the words in negative or positive tone. For example- Optimistic, Sanguine, Buoyant etc. are words which denote something positive, whereas Acerbic, Scanting, Vicious, Caustic etc. are the words which give negative tone. You can just remember the tone of the word. When such word comes in a passage, you can easily determine whether it is saying something positive or negative.
(2) Try to learn root words, for example- such as ‘Bene’ means good, ‘Bio” means life, ‘Aqua” means water and ‘Mal’ means bad. Whenever any word starts with these root words, you will automatically get the meaning.
Comprehension- In many exams, we see unseen passages and paragraphs for comprehension. You have to read the passage thoroughly and understand what it says. Then the passage is followed by some questions, which you have to answer. In these questions, they can ask you to give general answers or to give the title of the passage or they can ask meaning of some words. To attempt these questions perfectly, you need to practice comprehension daily. Buy any book for practice or check on internet for daily passages. Try to attempt them in as less time as possible. Read the passage thoroughly and then move to the questions. Do not miss the central idea as it helps you to decide the title. Watch English Movies for better understanding of context, it also helps.
Spellings- Do not underestimate spellings in any examination. Sometimes questions are asked to correct the spelling, and the options are very confusing. To attempt such questions, you must memorize the spellings very well. Also, when you write subjective answers, you are judged by your spelling too. Bad spelling makes a bad impression upon the examiner.
Newspapers- A lot of people would have suggested you to start your preparation of English language by reading newspapers. However, I would suggest that one must know the grammar and the vocabulary first, so that when you start a newspaper, you understand it better. As a beginner, start by some light newspapers such as Economic Times and gradually move towards The Hindu or The Indian Express. Look very carefully at the new words that you find in the newspaper, and learn how to create better sentence structure. Do not read too much in a day, read only that much which you can memorize in a day. Continue this for about 6 months, and you’ll see a drastic change in your English.
Write what you learn- When you learn a new word, or you learn a new way of sentence formation, always make short notes of that thing. Because when we write something, we memorize that thing even better. You can make some flash cards or you can write those words in a notebook. Either way, don’t forget to write them.
Shape your knowledge- Once you learn plenty of words, grammar and rules of English language, it’s time to shape your knowledge. You might be thinking, that ‘How I’ll shape my knowledge”? Well! Recognize the area which requires work and revise the portion which you know the best. For example- if you have good command over grammar, but are weak in vocabulary, give less time to grammar and focus more on vocabulary. Make a routine and identify your strengths and weaknesses. Once you know that how much have you covered and how much is left, you’ll know how to cover those left things. There are many Government e learning Websites from where you can also explore more subjects and important topics from and can start your preparation.
Hopefully this article guides you in some way!

Top 5 Best Performances By Urmila Matondkar
In a three decade long career, Urmila played numerous roles in different genres. Killer, stalker, lover, lead all of these were forte of this wondrous woman. The oomph she carries with the exquisite style of delivering her character makes her one of her kind. She is one of the hottest actresses in Indian Cinema. We have jotted down 5 of her outlandish works {we say it in a positive tone} that will make you go ooh la la!
Rangeela
Rang Rang Rangeela Re! The movie is not just about this chartbuster but a lot more. The passion she has filled in her character makes the film even more amazing. Redefining the word SEDUCTIVE, this movie tops the list in our opinion.
Bhoot
Getting possessed by a spirit is not such a good idea, but the way Urmila has portrayed that character is a sheer work of excellence. The look on her face, the distress is so real we cannot help but praise her tons. If you have not seen this movie, you must make it your Halloween night plan.
Pinjar
From all the gushy roles, in this directorial of Chadraprakash Diwedi, Urmila played a rural Punjabi woman's role. The movie is set during the Partition time. The story, acting, and dedication she has shown is beyond our list of adjectives.
Kaun
The psychotic character she played in this Hindi film is so real, and you will be mistaken if she actually turned that way. She was praying on people to kill them, the fright you will get is so real, you might experience goosebumps. We highly – highly recommend you watch this movie for the sake of this Bollywood diva's ultimate performance.
Ek Haseen Thi –
The movie starring Bollywood Celebrities – Saif and Urmila is one of our favourites from the list. Both made such amazing character play on the screen; we refrain but have to say – Splendid. The range of character change she has shown from innocent to a psychopathic avenge is honestly applauding worthy.Do tell us in the comment section below, which one is your topper from the list

The range of character change she has shown from innocent to a psychopathic avenge is honestly applauding worthy.
Do tell us in the comment section below, which one is your topper from the list.

Preparing English Language for Government Exams
English language plays a very determining part in any government exam. If you’re aspiring for any such examination, you need to have a good command over English language.
There are some examinations, where questions are provided in Hindi or Regional languages also, but the fact remains, that there is a separate section in every exam where your knowledge of English is tested.
Click here to learn Basics of English.
Bonus Tips- Every person has capacity of learning new words.
6. Write what you learn- When you learn a new word, or you learn a new way of sentence formation, always make short notes of that thing. Because when we write something, we memorize that thing even better. You can make some flash cards or you can write those words in a notebook. Either way, doesn’t forget to write them.
Hopefully this article guides you in some way!

Top Dead and Constructed Languages to Learn
Top Dead and Constructed Languages to Learn - Sciforce - Medium
As a rule, when we choose a language to learn, we have several reasons in mind: they might be useful for our professional growth or helpful in travels or in communication with certain communities. We might need a language because we move to another country or because we fall in love with a foreigner. However, a new language can be not only a means of communication: it is also a way to sharpen your mind, to find a deeper mental structure in what might first seem to be verbal chaos — and ultimately it can become a proxy to mastering computer logic and machine learning.
That is why it is a good idea to learn not a real live language — but a tongue that is dead and reconstructed or completely invented. Striped of numerous exceptions, variations and usage simplification that are inherent to natural languages we speak, they show only the ideal logical structure in the core of any language — be it human, computer, or mathematical.
In this blog post, we’ll present a list of our top of dead and artificial languages that might be useful to learn.
Dead Languages
Latin
Much more than a dead language of a dead ancient Empire, Latin is the language that had an enormous impact on the development of other European languages, as well as on the European culture and science.
Why to learn?
Latin is the parent of the modern Romance languages, which include Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and others. Therefore, the knowledge of Latin can facilitate learning these languages — and train you to see and to use the connections and similarities between them. These connections are so huge that learning Latin will virtually open up access to the whole Romance language family — and boost your analytical skills.
Latin is a highly-inflected language, which means that you can alter the meanings of words by merely changing the ending suffice. On the one hand, it makes Latin difficult to learn; on the other hand, it gives you an idea of the power of minute changes and a good eye for detail. And you’ll see that Latin IS well-structured!
Latin is not so dead as we might think. It is used, of course, in Catholic Church, but, more importantly, it is the basis of medical and biological classifications and to a certain extent of the academic slang.
Where to learn?
Latin might be offered to you at your university (it might be also a compulsory course), so grab the chance!
There are of course numerous courses and learning resources for any level:
Getting started on classical Latin is a free course that is aimed not at mastering the language itself but rather at discovering Latin grammar structures and its impact on English.
Learn Latin is a free app that provides users with vocabulary (verbs, nouns, adjectives, adverbs) that they can easily use to learn a word a day. Example sentences will also be provided to help learn the new word.

Sanskrit
Similar to Latin in Europe, Sanskrit was the lingua franca of the Indian subcontinent for three millennia and it provided the foundational texts for Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism.
Why to learn?
Sanskrit has a huge impact on modern Indo-Aryan languages, such as Hindi that directly borrows Sanskrit grammar and vocabulary. Its influence reaches other languages, including Austronesian, Sino-Tibetan, and the languages of Southeast Asia.
The 49-character alphabet arranges characters in a rational and systematic manner: both the vowels and consonants are arranged according to the shape of the mouth when these sounds are emitted.
The morphology of word formation is unique and of its own kind where a word is formed from a tiny seed root in a precise grammatical order which has been the same since the very beginning. Any number of new words could be created from the root with the help of an extremely detailed prefix and suffix system.
The current global interest in Sanskrit is connected with the spread of yoga practices and Indian way of life around the world, so it has become a trendy language among people who declare to live “clean”.
Where to learn?
Learn Sanskrit online — an online course for beginners that features a rather informal approach to learning a new language.
Sanskrit grammar — in case you don’t want to actually speak Sanskrit but would prefer to use it as a tool to train your mind.
Ancient Greek
Classical, or Ancient, Greek is often considered the most important language in the intellectual life of Western civilization. While it does use an older and more foreign alphabet, learning Ancient Greek can allow you to read many ancient intellectual texts.
Why to learn?
Though not as evident as Latin, Greek has traces in modern academic languages: for instance, many of the modern English names of scientific disciplines come from Ancient Greek, including psychology, philology, theology, philosophy, etc.
The Greek alphabet was taken over from the Semitic as used in the Phoenician area, which in turn was based on an Egyptian alphabet. That makes the Greek alphabet a link between Western alphabets and the morphology of alphabets across Asia. Being familiar with the Greek alphabet is a definite advantage: even now, many technical studies borrow from the Greek alphabet and use it to a considerable degree.
Learning Ancient Greek can improve your understanding of grammar, since the sentence structure and the number of forms require a great deal of attention. The words of sentences are placed for their emphasis, rather than in accordance with a specific pattern, making the knowledge of the inflections highly important. Besides, inflections are attributes not only of nouns, but also of adjectives, pronouns, verbs and articles, so you need to keep an eye on all parts of speech simultaneously.

Hebrew
unitedwithisrael.org
Biblical Hebrew is the archaic form of modern Hebrew used to write the Old Testament of the Bible. Developed into a literary and liturgical language around 200 CE, it is currently taught in public schools in Israel, as an important way to understand modern Hebrew and the Jewish faith.
Why to learn?
It’s a very popular language for Jewish and Christian followers to study because it opens up the possibility for reading the Old Testament in its original language.
While it is similar to Modern Hebrew, the style, grammar, and vocabulary of Biblical Hebrew makes it much more difficult to learn. Having to establish the precise use of a case or mood or voice makes the interpreter consider all the various possibilities of meaning inherent in the language of the text. It sounds overcomplicated, but it is a perfect workout for your brains and the ability to consider all possibilities is a definite advantage.
Hebrew alphabet is also notoriously difficult to learn: in its traditional form, it consists only of consonants, written from right to left. It has 22 letters, five of which use different forms at the end of a word. Vowels are indicated by the weak consonants serving as vowel letters, or the letter can be combined with a previous vowel and becomes silent, or by imitation of such cases in the spelling of other forms. Bottom line, Biblical Hebrew is for those who like puzzles and mysteries hidden from the plain view.

Old English
thoughtco.com
Old English, sometimes referred to as Anglo-Saxon, is the earliest historical form and the forefather of the contemporary English language. It was brought to Great Britain by Anglo-Saxon settlers probably in the mid-5th century and was spoken in England and Southern and Eastern Scotland in the early Middle Ages.
Why to learn?
Spoken in England before the Norman Conquest, Old English remains a truly Germanic language and shows the modern English connections to the Germanic family.
By learning Old English you can trace the evolution of a language over centuries on all levels from phonetic shifts to simplification of grammar and changes in vocabulary. This makes evident how a language responds to the changes in the society and how complicated grammar used to be.
Besides, it is written in the Anglo-Saxon variant of runes, so you can pretend to be a Viking.

Constructed Languages
Esperanto
Esperanto is the most successful international auxiliary language, with up to two million speakers. It was invented in the late 19th century by a Polish doctor, Ludwik Zamenhof, who wanted to end interethnic conflicts by providing everyone with a common and politically neutral tongue.

Why to learn?
Contrary to old and dead languages, invented languages tend to simplify grammar and morphology. In Esperanto, word roots are mostly based on Latin and can be combined with affixes to form new words. The affixes can also stand alone: ejo = place, estro = leader/head, etc. The grammar has many traces of Slavic languages, although it is greatly simplified in comparison to them.
Spelling conventions are somewhat similar to Polish, though Zamenhof came up with some new letters for Esperanto (Ĉĉ, Ĝĝ, Ĥĥ, Ĵĵ, Ŝŝ, Ŭŭ). These letters are often replaced with ch, gh, jh or cx, gx, jx, or c’, g’, j’, etc.
Esperanto is an easy language to master with its small set of grammar rules and a transparent system of word endings: -o for nouns, -a for adjectives, -e for adverbs, -as for verbs in present tense. This makes grammar much clearer to a novice in language learning.

Toki Pona
Toki Pona is a language created by the Canadian linguist and translator Sonja Lang as a philosophical language for the purpose of simplifying thoughts and communication.
Why to learn?
Lang designed Toki Pona to express maximal meaning with minimal complexity and to promote positive thinking. One of Toki Pona’s main goals is a focus on minimalism, as it focuses on simple concepts and universal elements. The language has 120–125 root words and 14 phonemes designed to be easy to pronounce for speakers of various language backgrounds. Therefore, learning this language can help switch the focus from complexity to the minimum repertoire.
Inspired by Taoist philosophy, the language is designed to help users remove complexity from the thought process. Even with the small vocabulary, speakers are able to communicate, mainly relying on context, which highlights the importance of non-linguistic means of communication.

Klingon

Klingon, the language of a fictional warrior alien race in the Star Trek created by Marc Okrand and it is maybe the most famous constructed language.
Why to learn?
Perhaps the most fully realized science fiction language, Klingon has a complete grammar and vocabulary of 3000 words, so fans can actually learn it. There are even translations of Shakespeare, Sun Tzu and the Bible into the language.
Klingon was mostly created by a linguist who deliberately added complex rules and sounds that are rare in human languages. Therefore, this language, though not fully natural, can serve us as a proxy to understanding an alien — or at least a foreign — way of thinking and conceptualizing the world.
Another possible difficulty for anyone wanting to communicate in Klingon is that, as a space-based language, it’s lacking a lot of normal Earth words.

Quenya
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fictional_language
Quenya is one of the languages invented by JRR Tolkien in his Middle-earth world. A ceremonial Elvish tongue, it’s the most elaborate of all of Tolkien’s languages.
Why to learn?
First of all, Middle Earth was invented for Quenya and not vice versa: Tolkien began to write his stories in order to provide his language with a historical background. Tolkien tried to create the most beautiful language imaginable, and the sounds and grammar were taken mostly from the real Earth languages that he thought were the most beautiful: Finnish, Latin and Greek.
The most striking feature of Quenya is that it is a highly agglutinating language, meaning that multiple affixes are often added to words to express grammatical function. It is possible for one Quenya word to have the same meaning as an entire English sentence. Therefore, Quenya helps master a completely different way of building sentences and shows the possibilities of language economy.
It uses a special set of Elfish runes featuring, among others, representation of vowels with diacritics and the correspondence between shape features and sound features, and of the actual letter shapes.

High Valyrian
https://gameofthrones.fandom.com/wiki/High_Valyrian
High Valyrian is a ceremonial language from A Song of Ice and Fire series of fantasy novels by George R. R. Martin. While High Valyrian is not developed beyond a few words in the novels, for the TV series, linguist David J. Peterson created both the High Valyrian language, and its derivative languages Astapori and Meereenese Valyrian.
Why to learn?
This is the most recently developed language for the most popular TV series, so learning it at present is timely and trendy.
A dead language in the world of Westeros, High Valyrian occupies a cultural niche similar to that of Latin being the language of learning and education among the nobility, so learning it can make you feel double sophisticated (or nerd).
Despite its complicated inflectional grammar, High Valyrian does not have a special alphabet, so it is easier to master reading from the very beginning without additional obstacles.

It might be that constructed languages lack the depth as they do not have actual system of idioms and metaphors behind them, or that dead languages are overcomplicated and outdated and no one would be able to communicate in them at present. However, learning such languages is an excellent exercise for our mind that help us develop more focus and attention and understand more about the logic of a language, the way we shape it and the way we want artificial languages — including machine ones — to work.
