Summer is the perfect time for children to explore new activities, play outside, and have fun with their friends. As a parent, it can be difficult to come up with new and exciting ideas to keep your preschooler entertained during the summer months.
From outdoor adventures to arts and crafts, we’ve got it all. Let your preschooler’s imagination run wild with these activities designed to keep them learning and growing all summer long. In this article, we will share 25 fun preschool summer activities that you and your child can try together.
1. Soccer
Soccer is an excellent sport for preschoolers to get involved in. It teaches them coordination, balance, and teamwork. You can set up a small soccer field in your backyard using cones as goals. Have your child kick the ball into the goals and practice passing with a partner.
2. Basketball
Basketball is another great sport for preschoolers. You can purchase a small basketball hoop that can be adjusted to their height. Have them practice shooting the ball into the hoop, and practice dribbling and passing with a partner.
3. T-ball
T-ball is a great introduction to baseball for preschoolers. Set up a tee and have your child practice hitting the ball. You can also practice catching and throwing with a soft ball.
4. Swimming
Swimming is a fun and refreshing activity for preschoolers during the hot summer months. Enroll your child in swim lessons or set up a kiddie pool in your backyard. Make sure to supervise them closely at all times.
5. Make your own popsicles
Making your own popsicles is a fun and easy summer activity for preschoolers. You can use fruit juice, yogurt, or pureed fruit to make healthy and refreshing popsicles.
6. Picnic in the park
Pack a picnic basket with your child’s favorite foods and head to the park for a fun outdoor meal. You can also involve them in the planning and preparation of the meal.
7. Plant a garden
Planting a garden is a great way for preschoolers to learn about where their food comes from. You can start with simple herbs or vegetables, and involve them in watering and caring for the plants.
8. Fruit salad fun
Have your child help you make a colorful and healthy fruit salad. You can use a variety of fruits and have them practice cutting and slicing with a child-safe knife.
9. Reading time
Set aside time each day for reading with your child. You can choose books that are appropriate for their age and level, and have them practice sounding out words and identifying letters.
10. Nature walks
Take a walk outside and have your child identify different plants, animals, and objects in nature. You can also talk about the different colors and textures they see.
11. Arts and crafts
Arts and crafts are a fun way for preschoolers to express themselves and use their creativity. You can provide them with different materials, such as paper, crayons, and paint, and encourage them to make their own creations.
12. Magic tricks
Have you ever wanted to be a magician? Well, now is the time to start honing your skills and what better way to do it than with your child?
The Melissa & Doug First Magic Set is the perfect introduction to the world of sleight of hand and misdirection, designed specifically for budding magicians aged 3-6. And if you want to take it to the next level, they even have an adorable magician’s costume to complete the look.
13. Volunteering
Looking for a way to teach your preschooler about the importance of helping others? Volunteering might just be the perfect way to stretch their big heart and show them how they can make a difference in the world.
Consider finding an animal shelter that could use some extra love and attention from little animal snugglers. Not only will your child get to spend time with some furry friends, but they’ll also learn about the importance of giving back to those in need.
14. Bubble painting
Bubble painting is a fun and easy activity that your preschooler will love. All you need is some bubble solution, food coloring, and paper. Mix a few drops of food coloring into the bubble solution, and have your child blow bubbles onto the paper. The bubbles will burst and leave behind colorful splatters on the form.
15. Nature collage
Take a nature walk with your preschooler and collect leaves, flowers, and sticks. Use these items to create a nature collage. Encourage your child to arrange the items in different ways and glue them onto a piece of paper.
16. Salt painting
Salt painting is a simple yet fascinating activity that your preschooler will enjoy. All you need is some white glue, salt, and watercolor paint. Have your child draw a picture with the glue on a piece of paper, then sprinkle salt over the glue. After the glue has dried, have your child use watercolor paint to color the salt.
17. Clay sculpture
The clay sculpture is a tactile and creative activity that your preschooler will love. Use non-toxic modeling clay and encourage your child to mold the clay into different shapes and figures. You can also provide tools such as toothpicks and plastic knives to help your child create more detailed sculptures.
18. Finger painting
Finger painting is a classic art activity that is perfect for preschoolers. All you need is some washable paint and paper. Encourage your child to use their fingers to create different shapes and designs with the paint.
19. Nature scavenger hunt
Create a list of items for your child to find on a nature walk, such as a feather, a pinecone, or a flower. Encourage your child to use their observation skills to find each item on the list.
20. Leaf tracing
Collect different types of leaves and place them under a piece of paper. Encourage your child to use a crayon to rub over the paper, revealing the texture and shape of the leaves.
21. Flower pressing
Gather some flowers and press them between two pieces of paper. Leave the flowers for a few days to dry, then use them to create a nature collage or a greeting card.
22. Bug hunt
Explore your backyard or a nearby park to find different types of insects. Use a magnifying glass to observe their features and discuss their habitat and behaviors with your child.
23. Learning nature walk
Take a leisurely walk with your child and point out different types of plants and animals. Discuss the different colors, shapes, and textures that you see.
24. Bird watching
Set up a bird feeder or bird bath in your yard and observe the different types of birds that visit. Use a guidebook to identify each bird and discuss their behaviors and characteristics.
25. Rock painting
Collect some rocks and use acrylic paint to create different designs and patterns. You can also encourage your child to write positive messages or words on the rocks.

7 Ways to Reduce Teacher Burnout at Preschool
Being an early educator can be a rewarding and fulfilling career, but it can also be incredibly demanding and stressful. Long hours, challenging behavior, and tight deadlines can take a toll on your well-being and eventually lead to burnout. While most teachers experience burnout at some point, there are practical steps you can take to reduce stress and prevent burnout so you can enjoy your work and feel fulfilled in your role.
In this article, we'll share seven effective ways to do just that. From prioritizing self-care and setting boundaries, to improving time management and seeking support, we'll cover everything you need to know to thrive as an early childhood educator.
So, let's dive in and discover how you can reduce stress and find more joy in your work!
Check in consistently: While you may communicate with your staff frequently about your center’s operations, student progress, family concerns, and more, it's important to inquire about their emotional and mental state. Staff may be hesitant to express their struggles, so regular check-ins are essential. Set aside time for one-on-one meetings or consider creating a wellness survey for your staff.
Encourage teachers to use their vacation time: It is crucial to emphasize teacher wellness and encourage your staff to take time off. Explain that they can only be their best for their students, families, colleagues, and themselves if they take time to recharge. Celebrate staff who take time off and ensure that they have proper coverage while they are away.
Prioritize center wellness: There are many ways to promote a healthy and productive work environment for your staff. Encourage healthy eating habits by providing nutritious snacks, promote stress management techniques like yoga, and provide contact info for mental health resources and providers.
Offer Employee Assistance Programs (EAP): EAPs are a proven initiative that helps all employers, regardless of industry, support employee mental and emotional health. This program assists employees with personal and work-related problems that may impact their health and well-being.
Practice good communication: The last few years have taught us that everyone needs to be able to adapt quickly to changes. Having a digital system in place that lets you communicate quickly and effectively with your staff and center’s families can help you seamlessly manage you center, reduce stress and ensure that everyone is informed in real-time. KinderPass can help you do just that and more!
Collaborate with colleagues: Encourage your staff to collaborate with colleagues. This can help reduce stress and promote a sense of community and support. Ensure your staff take advantage of opportunities to work with others, such as team-teaching or co-planning. They can also build connections by participating in professional development opportunities or joining a peer support group.Having a colleague they can confide in frequently can also do wonders. Being able to turn to your coworkers for assistance can help your staff prevent burnout.
Offer praise and recognition: Create a positive work environment where your staff feels appreciated and valued. Celebrate their successes, big and small, with a shoutout, certificate or even a small treat.

Why do you need a childcare consultant for your child?
A childcare consultant can provide valuable support and expertise in various aspects of child care and child development. Here are some reasons why you might need a childcare consultant for your child:
Expert Guidance: Childcare consultants have expertise in early childhood education and development. They can offer expert guidance on various aspects of childcare, such as choosing the right daycare or preschool, creating a nurturing home environment, and promoting age-appropriate learning and development.
Customized Advice: Childcare consultants can assess your child's unique needs and provide customized recommendations that align with their developmental stage, personality, and learning style.
Quality Assurance: Childcare consultants can help you evaluate and select high-quality childcare providers or programs that prioritize safety, education, and child development.
Behavioral Support: If your child is exhibiting challenging behaviors or facing developmental delays, a childcare consultant can offer strategies and interventions to address these issues effectively.
Parenting Education: Childcare consultants can educate parents on best practices for child-rearing, from establishing routines to managing discipline and fostering positive parent-child relationships.
Transition Support: If your child is transitioning to a new childcare setting or school, a consultant can ease the transition process and ensure that your child's emotional and educational needs are met.
Problem Solving: Childcare consultants can help you address issues such as sleep problems, potty training, socialization difficulties, or academic concerns.
Advocacy: In cases where your child may have special needs or require individualized education plans, a childcare consultant can advocate on your child's behalf and help ensure they receive appropriate services and support.
Parental Support: Parenting can be challenging, and childcare consultants offer emotional support and validation, helping parents navigate the complexities of raising children.
Professional Resources: Childcare consultants are often well-connected to local resources, programs, and services that can benefit your child's development and well-being.
Peace of Mind: Engaging a childcare consultant can provide parents with peace of mind, knowing that they are making informed decisions and taking the right steps to support their child's growth and development.
It's important to choose a childcare consultant like KinderPass with the appropriate qualifications and experience in early childhood education and child development. Consulting with such professionals can be especially helpful when you have concerns about your child's well-being, development, or the choices you're making regarding their care and education.

Säuglinge “stecken” in Leihmutter-Kliniken wegen Coronavirus
NĂşria Casas
Foto: BioTexCom
