December 13th - Godspeed

August Heart was a colleague of Barry Allen at the Central City Police Department crime lab.  Heart’s brother was murdered by a crime syndicate and the homicide was left unsolved; a matter that greatly unsettled him.  A disturbance in the Speed Force caused an errant bolt of lightning that bestowed Heart with speed powers on par with The Flash. Heart designed a costume similar to that used by The Flash and renamed himself ‘Godspeed.’ He then used his powers to hunt down and ultimately murder the criminals who had killed his brother. Having completely lost faith in the criminal justice system, Godspeed continued to operate as a deadly vigilante until he was caught and defeated by The Flash and Kid Flash. A version of Godspeed has featured in The Flash television series portrayed by Kindall Charters and voiced by BD Wong. The villain first appeared in the pages of The Flash: Rebirth #1 (2016).
