was rewatching some of the shutoku vs rakuzan match last night and i was really so endeared by the fact that before the match kimura asked midorima about his lucky item (the shogi piece) and commented pretty fondly that its small this time around

and then miyaji immediately asking about his rank !! like i just love how close the team grew in the year... how how close they've become... especially when you compare their confusion and for midorima's interest in fortune earlier in the beginning of the series

then of course takao laughing at the exchange between midorima and miyaji after miyaji was telling midorima that he should have been first in the fortune and midorima saying "thats my fortune"

Kasamatsu is famously (canonically) TERRIBLE at talking to women, so I think that one time at a job interview, he was composing himself in the lobby, prepared to make the best impression of allt ime, but when he was called over by an attractive lady around the same age as him, he disintegrated.

(While we're talking about him, I think he'd be super SUPER respectful to the elderly, just because he feels a sense of responsibility for his elders)

Akashi, personally, I think wouldn't photograph well. (I know he was one or two pictures of him in the show and looks normal but HEAR ME OUT) I just think he gets in his head about how he should appear, and he ends up looking a little too stern, like his eyebrows are just always furrowed.

Kobori, Reo, Kiyoshi, and Kimura probably all take the big sibling/brother roles in their respective teams. (i don't imagine tōō or yōsen having anybody like that) Like, they'd go out of their way to buy everybody drinks after practice or a match, no matter their mood.

Miyaji, our resident Miyu-Miyu stan, once attended a concert, ran into his female classmates, and while i don't think he's the kind of guy to be incredibly 'i wanna die' embarrassed type, he definitely didn't want to admit that he was there for his own enjoyment. So when the girls eventually notice their literal 6'3 (anybody else surprised by his height btw?? he gives short energy LMAO) giant of a classmate, he psh'ed and just said "I'm waiting for somebody." No, he has not been able to avoid the girlfriend allegations since.

Kagami sleeps with so many pillows, and it's because of his muscle pains, but holy shit his bed is just a clump of fluff.

Izuki, for whatever reason, always has crap falling about of his locker. Whether it's his piles of joke books, the rare sheet of schoolwork, or an old coffee can, you can never EVER trust him to keep his locker clean for more than 4 days.

Day 10 : Favorite Team

Shūtoku High School BC 🏀🧡

Another very difficult choice for me. Every team in this show has unique characters, an interesting dynamic and their own unique playstyle and something special, like a quirk. I kind of know what my TOP 3 teams are, but choosing one of them seemed like an impossible mission... So, I made a little system that will help me pick my favorite team. When I added and substracted some points, Shūtoku won!     

Shūtoku, as a team, has some of my most favorite characters ever. It is also the only team (after Rakuzan) in which I love and adore absolutely every member! Since I rambled about Shintarō and Kiyoshi, and am going to ramble about Kazunari very soon, let me just talk about the forgotten two of Shūtoku: Taisuke Ōtsubo and Shinsuke Kimura. A lot of people seem to forget that these two guys exist. They don't look super flashy, like Shintarō and Kiyoshi for example, because they have dark brown hair and dark brown eyes and generic hairstyles. They don't have prominent personalities either, like the other 3 members, who have their own very distinctive quirks and personality traits. But, that is just the surface. I was very curious one day and decided to scratch it and dive a little more into the lives and personalities of these two handsome boys. Well, after researching about them, they turned out to be very interesting, and dear to me.    

Taisuke Ōtsubo. He is a serious, responsible, determined captain and a great sportsman. He is the pillar of his team on the court and is there to cover up the mistakes of his fellow members by saving every rebound he can. Everybody seems to think he is just tall, strong and scary and rough, but seriously, this guy is just a teddy bear. Other than being very kind and showing it in form of great sportmanship, he has some really surprising hobbies. It's cooking, cleaning, and knitting! In Extras, he is shown to be really skilled with needles and yarn, knitting a scarf almost 2 meters long during a boring class! He also carries things he made in his bag all the time, like mittens, hats... These things he does are not usually something that men do, and I just love how he looks like the manliest man ever and has these hobbies, breaking the patriarchal norms. He also really loves his team and always takes care of his teammates, knowing how to motivate them and cheer them up when it's needed, and tending to them when practices get tough and they feel sick. My favorite thing about him is that he likes spending his free time with his little sister, Ōtsubo Tae! Her age was never confirmed, but she is somewhere around 15, or maybe even 16, if we think about what Yūya said. Now, a lot of big brothers seem to, for some reason, find it boring, and even embarrassing, to hang out with their little sisters, but no, not Taisuke Ōtsubo. This guy loves it, we know it because he chooses to spend his free time in her presence! Taisuke is 18 years old, a grown man, basketball player, graduate student, preparing for college and adult life, and in a busy time like that, when he finds free time, he still spends time with his little sister. I can totally see them cooking together and cleaning together, but another activity that I can see them doing is just, talking. Taisuke can sit and talk with his sister all day, listening to her without feeling the need to interrupt her of mansplain anything if she just needs to let things out, or offering honest advice and support when she needs it. He is also surely protective of her, making sure to let everybody in her life know that if they hurt her in any way, he will find out and they will pay for it. He is just ready to do anything for his sister, I think. Another little detail about his character, that I really love, is that he is part of the Library Committee, which means he likes to read, and help people find books they like! Not only that, but his favorite subject is physcis, which means he is good at it, and that only reveals how smart he actually is! This man literally has the words 'Perfect Guy' on his forehead, how can people sleep on him like that? The only thing he can't do is kill a cockroach (actual canon and his actual only shortcoming).   

Shinsuke Kimura. Calm, hard-working, doesn't like the spotlight and prefers to stay out of trouble. That's pretty much the only things people know about him. Though, reading between the lines of his behaviour, I found a couple of really endearing character traits! I He is a really supportive person, but he is doing it rather quietly most of the time. In games, he sets up solid screens to give his teammates freedom to move and opportunities to score, though. He also brings delicious fruits when practices get exhausting, and he is there to help his teammates if they ever feel sick, like when he was rubbing Kazunari's back and called for help when he felt like throwing up. He is even supportive in the strangest way possible, by always offering a pineapple to Kiyoshi when he is irritated, supporting his dear friend's anger issues. When times call for it, he knows how to motivate his teammates and give them a reason to stand up on their feet and continue fighting. He is extremely hard-working and he proved it by practicing harder than everyone until he finally reached the starter line. That's a thing I really admire him for. Something that caught my attention when reading his Wiki page and exploring his character was how he likes to spend his free time. He spends it by helping at home. Now, if you know that his family owns a convenience store and grows their own fruits, it probably means that he helps with taking care of the said plants, carries heavy boxes, cleans the store, helps in organising new arrivals, works as a cashier and so on... However, if you ever happened to notice the fact that he doesn't have a mother, it adds another, whole different meaning. Having only a father means that all the house and store responsibilities fall onto him when his boys are at school, which is difficult to balance. So, taking care of the house, cleaning it and cooking meals, probably sometimes falls onto his two sons, and very likely Shinsuke, as the older brother, takes care of most of those things. This boy is another level of hard-working. We can even gyess that he gave up college to continue the family's bussiness, because he is never shown worrying about any college entrance exams, like the other two Third Years. He is just, wow. The moment I completely fell in love with him was when I listened to a Special CD. In the said CD, he reveals such a beautiful side of himself and he tells us about something really important for him. He talks about wrestling. He has been doing it since he is 8 years old, it's something that he loves a lot and is extremely passionate about! I wish you guys could hear his voice when he talks about wrestling, he just sounds so happy and passionate! Oh, and he gets so excited when he finds out Shintarō knows a thing or two about his sport! Listening to that part of the CD always makes my little heart melt! Shinsuke is so precious to me and I just love him so much!

If you get into typology, Shinsuke and Taisuke both have a Kanji in their names that means 'Support', showing how important they are for the Shūtoku team. Also, they are really handsome, and it's a hill I will die on. If anyone disagrees with me on this one, I am willing to argue until the end of time.   

Now, the characters aren't even the best part of this team. What I endlessly love is the chemistry and all the different friendships between all of them!

Three Third years and two First years in a single team is a really interesting combination itself. Almost like parents and children. Getting along with each other, as two separate generations, was probably something that they had to work on a lot, but in the end, they did it! Since the beginning, the First years had respect for their Seniors by listening to them and respecting their opinions. Sometimes, the Third years had to pick their younger members up and give them motivation to keep fighting. They are also there to tend to the boys when they feel unwell and are always willing to offer their help when they get in trouble, like in the Midorima's Unlucky Day Extra! An important step towards the team working well was Third years getting along with the fact that the First years, were indeed, special, and needed to be cut some slack for such behaviour from time to time. Honestly, realising that they will be on the same team only for a single year breaks my heart every time, it breaks theirs as well... The moment Shintarō and Kazunari pointed that out in their game against Rakuzan was the only time I cried in the show. Seriously, I love these guys so much.     

Shūtoku has some really interesting friendships as well, one of the most precious friendships being the one between Kazunari and Shintarō. It is obvious that these two are inseparable! After all, they are always there for each other, on the basketball court, in school and even in private life, offering support and having fun! Kazunari cares for Shintarō really deeply, and he shows it by carrying some of his neccesities, such as tape for fingers and sometimes even lucky items with himself, and always being there to cheer him up and protect him if the upperclassmen are picking on him. Shintarō is pretty tsundere, usually trying hard to not show how much he actually appreciates Kazunari and his thoughtfulness, but every time he softly smiles and relies on his dear friend he reveals to us how much he appreciates him.

Another friendship that is very dear to me is the one between Kiyoshi and Shinsuke! These two share the same story on how they got their well deserved positions as the starter members of the basketball team. They worked harder than everyone, stayed late to practice and got close because of that, possibly practicing with each other a bunch of times. But that's not everything, The Extras really reveal just how close these two are! They are actually classmates as well! Being in the same class with someone surely brings two people together, so these two being in the same classroom for 3 consecutive years surely did its wonders! Now, their personalities might clash a little, because Shinsuke is calm and Kiyoshi is rather uptight, Shinsuke prefers to stay out of trouble while Kiyoshi attracts a lot of trouble, but they are also similar in their determination, seriousness and hard-work, which is why they can probably get along. In the anime, we can also see these two tease each other sometimes, in the besties way, of course. The Extras also show how sometimes, when paired up, these two know how to 'have fun' by poking at their underclassmen (which is a little mean, but they never really hurt anyone, as far as I know, so they are forgiven). Oh, and of course, they have this famous pineapple/pick-up truck deal, where Shinsuke always offers his fruits or vehicle to his dear friend when he is irritated. It is just so iconic, like their own little inside joke!

There is also something very interesting going on between Taisuke and Kiyoshi. At one point in the anime, Taisuke reveals to Shintarō and Kazunari that they go to idol concerts together and that idols are actually their common interest! As someone who is into idols myself, I can see them collecting albums, CDs and photocards and trading them with each other all the time, which is something that is fun when done with friends! But that's not quite it... Remember when Taisuke said he was really used to seeing Kiyoshi work so hard? Well, I somehow came to an idea that they practiced basketball together, more specifically, that Taisuke helped Kiyoshi with polishing his fundamentals and mastering dribbling against an opponent with good defense. This duo kind of makes sense, because Taisuke is just supportive like that, he is the type of a guy who would help others in need with no hesitation, and Kiyoshi just screams 'someone help' as a character and a person, and especially in that period of time, I think. So, naturally, they were kinda drawn to each other, and later when they realised they have some things in common, they became good friends! I can kind of see Kiyoshi always feel so grateful for Taisuke because he supported him and helped him in some really tough times, and probably even picked him up when he fell. Also, before Taisuke revealed their shared interest to his underclassmen, he was about to say something about Kiyoshi, but he cut himself in the middle of his sentence and never said it. I can feel that he was about to say something really nice about him, groundbreaking for their relationship even, and I am still mad he never finished it...

Shūtoku is also a team with a lot of brothers and sisters, where every regular memeber we know has a younger sibling! Shintarō, Kazunari and Taisuke have younger sisters, while Shinsuke and Kiyoshi have younger brothers! Sadly, we never got to truly meet any of them. We only know something little about Yūya, only know Tae's name and looks, and the appearance of little Kimura. Unfortunately, we have nothing for little Midorima and little Takao. Well, still, it's really something interesting to think about, all the possible big brother tropes that the regulars of Shūtoku might be! It's sad that we don't have almost anything for some of these younger siblings, but that doesn't have to be all that bad! It leaves room for our own imagination and creativity to shine, we can make up our own fun headcanons for their looks, ages, personalities and relationships!

I just love this team so much! 🧡

August 06: Happy Birthday Shinsuke Kimura (Kuroko's Basketball)!!!!

This exact panel is an incredibly good summary of Shutoku's team.

Ōtsubo and Midorima, the pillars of the team, take most of the space, the same way they take most of the spotlight in the team.

Takao is shadowing them, behind and half hidden but the readers can still see him, which illustrates how he is the shadow of his team, we (the readers) know and appreciate how important he is, but the spectators in the manga don't care or pay attention to him.

Only Miyaji's shoulder and arm are visible, he is often ignored by both the spectator and a good part of the readers.

Shinsuke Kimura isn't even visible in the panel, and he ends up being almost anecdotal in the story, I even had to concentrate for a second to remember his name. RIP supporting characters who don't have time to be fully developped because it's realistically impossible to give enough spotlight to every character on every major team.

It was probably on purpose from Fujimaki-sensei and i really love how he did this.

SHIN-CHAN??? Pfft- BWAHHAHHAAA! I didn't expect to see YOU again! Well, let's see what we can do (pun intended).

Midorima Shintarou (nicknamed Shin-chan by yours truly) is a first-year basketball player for Shutoku High School. His player position is a shooting guard, meaning his role on the team is to score points, and he does that really well after hours and hours and hours and HOURS of practice. Really! His dedication to the ball is like no other. His accuracy rate calculated by fans (as well as his friends Momoi and Riko) is almost 80% across what we were able to see from the games that were shown (take a look at the FG% column!). His 3-pointers are pretty scary in the court!

Like Aomine pointed out, Shin-chan can come off as cold and arrogant to people who first meet him. I mean, it makes sense. I lost my first game against him in the past because his team was too good, and he knew it. When I met him at Shutoku, though, his insistence on practicing after usual hours changed my opinion on him; that is, he had the hours of effort to back up his pride. Well, that doesn't mean we can't knock him down a peg or two, though. Miyaji-senpai and Otsubo-senpai, long-term players on the team, made sure that he stays with the rest of the team. After all, basketball is a team sport, and Shin-chan learned pretty quickly that teams win, not individuals. Pretty proud of his journey. But I digress! Look at how nicely we fit together as a team!

This morning I got quiet because I read a piece of sad news. Yukihiro Takahashi passed away. I am just a listener of Yellow Magic Orchestra(YMO), so I can't follow his solo albums or side projects. In short, I am just an "immature" listener. But by listening to the YMO again I learned that their music is the battles within their "colorful" talents. In my opinion, YMO has enough value to be the "Japanese Beatles". Yukihiro Takahashi's sense of pop is great as Ryuichi Sakamoto's sweet melodies and Haruomi Hosono's profound ambiance. I love his soft voice. R.I.P.

Today was the day for me to attend the meeting about autism. I had to update ZOOM to join (my computer is old enough to get along with... poverty sucks!). I talked about "Taipa" as the "Time performance" at another meeting I had last Thursday. The members gave me various opinions actively. A person said that the opinion which says "training must be a waste of time" should be discussed by multiple aspects between "it's right" and "it's too extreme". In short, we can't decide or judge whether that opinion is simply good or bad. I was impressed that the comment is right so I have to reflect on my presentation. I have to think about my opinion steadily with having a few processes. I want to think deeply from multiple stances.

After the meeting, in my free time, I went to the library and borrowed Bin Kimura's books which were recommended on Facebook, and I enjoyed myself. I read Shinsuke Shimojo's "Subliminal Mind" and learned about cognitive dissonance. It says that I can't keep paradoxical opinions in my mind so I can't stop being assertive myself. For example, the opinion that says "drinking alcohol too much would hurt me", "I want to stop drinking a lot" and "alcohol must be a good medicine" is paradoxical. One side would beat the other one. Once I had this kind of conflict in myself many times, and tried to believe that "drinking must not be harmful". It is a bitter memory for me.

Quoting various dates from many experiments, Shinsuke Shimojo's book tries to explain the complication or ambiguity of our cognition. I treat myself as one personality, but can I say that I am the person who understands myself the most? My memory or recognition might tell mistakes or lies. Or "subliminal" things which already appear in this book's title would tell me a lie. I guess my way of learning the world would be different from others. This opinion might be able to be connected to the topic of qualia. "The red thing I watch is different from another person's"? If it's so, then it would be almost the same as Wittgenstein's philosophy. They are getting into one in my mind.

Hi! I wanna ask if you could please what would aomine and shin-chan’s team or like GOM react if Aomine and midorima is all mean and cold to them but he’s suddenly a bit softer on the reader, who is like the softest person ever~ I mean only if you want to of course hahahaha

Aomine: When they first see him with you, they all think their eyes stopped working properly. First of all, his s/o is such a cute person and Aomine himself is so soft for them? Impossible.

Momoi was the one who knew about your relationship earlier and shows off you two proudly while the others stare in disbelief.

Wakamatsu can’t believe what he’s seeing and is the person who spoils their hiding spot, exclaiming his shock and making Aomine annoyed when he realizes the whole team saw him being soft for you.

Imayoshi then decides to tease him and tries to persuade you to regularly visit their practices if it means Aomine would show up and act like this more often.

Sakurai watches the whole scene silently from the back, wondering how come someone so adorable like you managed to get into a relationship with the scary ace. It instantly makes him respect you.

Midorima: It was Takao’s idea to spy on you two and seeing his friend being so much different towards you, he barely manages to hold in laughter. He also starts recording your conversation after a while, receiving a smack from Miyaji.

Otsubo and Kimura listen to Midorima closely even though they were initially against spying on you. But hearing how the ace talked to you, an adorable person who apparently was his s/o, they couldn’t believe their ears.

They all held their breath noticing a small smile form on Midorima’s face when suddenly Takao burst out laughing and made you two look in the hiding group’s direction.

Miyaji was the one to approach and apologize to you, then turning to Midorima and not so calmly asking him to act like this towards them too. How you managed to break his cold façade was a mystery to all of them.

“Shin-chaaaaan~”

Kazunari calls on the tall boy walking way ahead in front of him as he tries his best to catch up with his steps in comparison to Shin-chan’s long strides. Most of the time, it is a curse for being shorter than Shin-chan especially when he looks down on him. It is alright if it’s a normal stare. However, most of the time, Shin-chan will just stare down at him as if saying if looks can kill, he’d be six feet underground by now. He shudders at the thought. No, he doesn’t want to die yet. There’s no way in hell he’ll die before he can do all his wildest fantasies to Shin-chan.

He'd been wracking his brain real hard on how to get Shin-chan’s sweet yet dangerous yes for a date without him really knowing that it is actually a date. But as you can see, the boy is just ignoring him. This has been going on for a few days now. He dashes towards him and settles on walking beside the tall boy and says, “Shin-chan, are you getting deaf now? I’ve been calling you for a while now. Maybe Oha Asa will think of giving Cancers a hearing aid as a lucky item.”

He heard his companion just sighs heavily before speaking, “What do you need, Takao?”

He grins happily, already feeling like winning as he can see that Shin-chan’s guarded walls are disappearing little by little. “I just wanna hang out with you this Friday! We don’t have any basketball practice because the third years are using the gym for their grade meeting.”

Shin-chan pushes his glasses with his left fingers before he halts his steps and looks at him.

“Don’t you have something to do on Friday, in fact?”

Now he’s confused. Why is Shin-chan saying that?

“Why would you think that?”

Shin-chan just brushes him off as he continues walking but not before saying, “I’m going to practice.” Now, he is so confused. What the fuck is wrong with this tsundere and why is he acting cold? He snaps out of his thoughts as he chases after the guy and holds his arm to stop him further from walking.

“What the hell is your problem, Shin-chan?! Why are you being so cold?”

The taller guy just hisses dangerously. “Let go of my arm, Takao.”

“No. Not until you tell me what the fuck is going on to that green head of yours.”

“Shut up, fool.”

Instead of letting him go, Takao just pulls the taller boy in an empty room that happens to be the music room. However, the taller guy is resisting so strongly that Kazunari feels like his strength is slipping away so fast. He looks at Shin-chan with a pouting face and says, “Just stop resisting and tell me what is your problem. Is it because I didn’t give you a ride on the rickshaw this morning?”

Shin-chan avoids meeting his gaze for a while until he speaks, “No, something as shallow as that is not my cup of tea, in fact. I am very well capable of going to school by myself.”

Kazunari is getting frustrated by each moment. Why can’t this guy just be honest with his feelings? He then hears Shin-chan sighs as he walks towards the grand piano and starts playing. At first, Kazunari becomes bewildered why the sudden urge to play the piano but as he is listening to the melody, a thought has hit him.

Shin-chan is playing the Love Theme for Romeo and Juliet - A Time for Us. He knows that piece, their class just recently watch a play of Romeo and Juliet in the audiovisual room. Suddenly, he gets pulled into the melody and moves closer by the grand piano. What he doesn’t notice is the fact that Shin-chan is looking at him all the while. Being himself, he just doesn’t turn down a challenge and has decided to meet his eyes as well. However, in Kazunari’s case, he’s being pulled into Shin-chan’s wholeness as a person plus add the fact that he’s playing this really beautiful and emotional melody. On the spur of a moment, he feels like he opens the magnificent door of shoujo manga and Shin-chan is waiting for him in the middle of the room as he is playing the piano. He doesn’t know whether to cringe or to be happy with his thoughts because, in the first place, he is a guy. The only hitch is that he chooses to fall in love with an enigma called Midorima Shintarou.

He gazes lovingly on his face especially his eyes that are surrounded with long lashes but are always covered by his thick-rimmed glasses. Beautiful, he thinks.

They stay like that until Shin-chan finishes the piece. And him being the loudmouth as he is, he unintentionally mutters.

“You’re beautiful, you know that?”

He wakes up from his shoujo blither fantasy when he hears the creaking of the chair as Shin-chan abruptly stands up and his face is so red. Kazunari panics a bit, afraid that the taller boy might brush him off again because of his comment.

He looks down on the ground, afraid of meeting the taller boy’s eyes. “S-Shin-chan…”

He hears him groans painfully as if he is really having a hard time speaking to him. In the end, he hears him takes a deep breath and says,

“You have a girlfriend now, right?”

Kazunari shots his head up as fast as lightning to look at Shin-chan. And at that moment, he finally gets what seems to be Shin-chan’s problem. He can’t help but laugh out loud as the taller boy becomes beet red as he puts his left hand on his face, attempting to cover the redness but he can see that even his ears are getting red so it is a very futile attempt. He clutches his stomach to laugh some more until Shin-chan can’t take it anymore.

“Y-You imbecile! Stop laughing.”

“Hahahahaha….hah…Sh-Shin-chan…HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!”

He can already feel his eyes getting wet because of laughing too much but he urges himself to stop. When his laughter has died down, he faces the guy.

“Shin-chan…sometimes you can be stupid you know?”

“W-what?!”

“Is the one you’re getting jealous-“

“I’m not jealous!!!”

“…of, is our classmate, Ichinose-san?” He waits for Shin-chan to say anything but it feels that he is just rooted there, unable to retort. He will accept any response even if it’s a first-rate sarcasm. Anything…as long as it comes from him. They stay there for a whole minute without saying anything and he is already accepting the fact that he won’t even get any response as he lumps his shoulders, his face full of bitterness. But he gets the shock of his life when he hears Shin-chan’s silent murmurs of, “Y-Yeah…in fact.”

The moment he hears that he glomps on him much to the dismay of the taller boy but nonetheless, awkwardly returns the hug. He looks up at Shin-chan, still not letting him go and slyly says, “You know, it’s not bad to be honest sometimes, Shin-chan. Also, with regards to Ichinose-san, her brother is working at a company that is making the games that I’m currently playing so I am just asking her some stuff.”

“S-Shut up, Takao. I didn’t ask for any explanation. This is all your fault.”

“Don’t worry, Shin-chan, you can execute all your hidden fantasies with me as much as you want, I won’t mind, really.” He chirps happily as the taller boy smacks him playfully on his head.

“You are getting deranged, in fact.”

He smugly says, “No, you just silently admitted that you like me when you conceded being jealous.”

Shin-chan just emits a long, sufferable sigh. “You haven’t even asked me ou-“

They are suddenly interrupted when the music room door suddenly opens to reveal Miyaji, Kimura, and Otsubo. Both of them haven’t had the time to move out of each other’s embrace as they are rooted in their position in shock as their senpais enter the room.

“Oi, first years! Stop flirting and get to practice!” Miyaji-senpai yells at them and that is the only time that they jerk away from each other, both of them red on the face.

Kimura-senpai just looks at them with confusion while Otsubo-senpai just groans in frustration while nursing his head for a coming headache.

“Fucking first years.” - Miyaji Kiyoshi

Valentine’s Day comes and Kazunari is frustrated as fuck because of the fact he and Shin-chan haven’t finished their conversation yet with regards to their status. No thanks to their senpais, of course. And now, he is walking on the way to Shin-chan’s house to pick him up. Yes, he is walking because he doesn’t feel like pulling the rickshaw today. He doesn’t want Shin-chan to see him all sweaty this early morning, duh,  just because today is v-day. His thoughts are interrupted as he sees an elderly lady about to cross the street and she is carrying a big picnic basket. Deciding to help her, he trudges closer and approaches the elderly and it earns him a smile and a pat on his head. Together, they cross the street with him supporting her and as thanks, the lady takes out something from the basket and gives him a handful of white little flowers that he doesn’t know the name. Smiling at the gesture, he continues on his way until he reaches the Midorima’s residence. Upon arriving there, Shin-chan is already outside, leaning by the wall and when the taller boy sees approaching him, his eyes widen not entirely on him but on what he is holding.

“Morning, Shin-chan!”

“Takao….those flowers. How did you get them?”

“Huh? Oh, this?”

“Did you know that Baby’s Breath is Cancer’s lucky item for today?”

He shakes his head as he looks at the flowers that he’s holding then to Shin-chan. He holds out the flowers for him to take but he sees that the other boy is quite hesitant. He scratches his head on confusion, “Just take it, Shin-chan.”

The taller boy blushes but he is still not getting the flowers from his hand.

“Do you even know what Baby’s Breath flowers mean?”

“No. I’m not into floral language.”

A small smile appears on Shin-chan’s face as he takes the flowers from his hand and starts walking ahead of him then halts when he is a few steps away, his back still facing him while he is still rooted in his place.

“It means pureness, innocence and….everlasting love. You just confessed to me through this flower, Takao.”

Kazunari just blinks as his brain processed what Shin-chan has said. When his brain has finally registered it, he goes after the boy in pure bliss as he pulls the taller boy’s head down to him and gives him a quick peck on the lips. “Shin-chaaaan~ I love you~”

Too startled by his sudden vulgar action in Shin-chan’s vocabulary to even move, the taller boy just can’t do anything but blush.

NOTE: I tried doing MidoTaka. Not really my cup of tea but I feel that this prompt is perfect for them. Also, please excuse my poor attempt of cheesy situations and humor.

MIDORIMA!!! as expected he's once again getting washed by his opponent! BUT! hope is not lost yet!! im gonna need your support again to make our favorite shooting guard turn this around!!

so what makes midorima so interesting? well in my last propaganda, i briefly mentioned him and his team, Shutoku! in case you forgot, there was a little scene of his teammates teasing him because he suggested to pass!

now wait, why is midorima saying he'll pass a funny thing? arent you supposed to pass in basketball? you'd be right! however, this is midorima we're talking about. one of the most prideful members of the "Generation of Miracles" (a group of basketball prodigies who greatly surpassed everyone around them). midorima does not pass. he only shoots and scores. (missing isnt even something you consider when dealing with midorima!)

in this scene, he's requesting to his coach (and team) that he wants everyone to pass him the ball for the second quarter, so that he may widen the gap between their team (Shutoku) and the opposing team (Seirin)! he wants to ensure his team's victory!

he's selfish, and the rest of the team knows this! though, with midorima's godly shooting abilities, they cant exactly keep him OFF the team, itd be a huge disadvantage! so how does his teammates cope with midorima's attitude? easy! they (except for Takao) are all upperclassmen! they have authority over him!! so they constantly tease and remind midorima that he cant get away with EVERY selfish request he makes! the scene below is his teammate's reaction to his request in the scene above!

but what makes midorima interesting is that as greedy as he is with the ball, he's not exactly a bad guy! he never gloats, never boasts or brags about his abilities. and everything his upperclassmen do to him he has absolutely NO qualms about! he takes it all like a champ!!

because deep down, he really IS a nice guy!! he knows his teammates are good. he has ALOT of respect for them! (and lets not even get started about Takao, his PARTNER!) and besides his team still cares about midorima, because they ARE willing to humor alot of his requests involving lucky items and many other silly things!

so yeah, midorima is a bit of a picky guy, but he's reliable. his team is reliable, and they all know it! so behind that serious exterior is a guy who can recognize and appreciate the people around him!
