Beautiful
(posted in twt and aff as well)
It all started from a joke one of them had mindlessly thrown at the other.
"Oh?" Yongsun said, a hint of amusement laced in her voice as she eyed the slender figure from head to toe, jokingly (not really) checking her out as the woman casually made her way into the unit.
It has been a routine for Byulyi to visit the older at the break of dawn just before the sun rises, an unspoken rule neither of them would like to break. They found the mere presence of one another comforting and starting the day seeing their safe haven seems just right.
"No hair extensions today?"
Yongsun raised a brow, following the woman into the living room as she plopped down on the couch just beside her visitor.
"Uhn." Byulyi nodded in response. "Moomoos have been asking for it" She continued, fiddling with the tip of her hair.
"Does it not... look nice?" Byulyi smiled sheepishly, suddenly feeling concious about revealing her new hair.
"You're always beautiful, Byul-ah" Yongsun replied nonchalantly, teasing the other woman in a sing song voice.
It might sound as if she didn't mean it but both of them knew she did. Damn yes, she did.
The moment she saw the younger at her doorstep, she had refused the urge to tackle to woman onto the ground, hold her fragile frame against her body and litter her face with gentle kisses.
She couldn't. It was wrong.
They were best friends.
She stared at Byulyi fondly, watching as her cheeks turned crimson red at the compliment.
"Really?" Byulyi asked, suddenly hyperaware of everything. She could hear the clock ticking, the aircon buzzing, the sound of television softly playing in the background and most importantly, her heart beating.
It was overwhelming and yet, she oddly didn't hate the feeling.
She instinctively brought her hand to her face, covering the redness of her cheeks from the older's eyes.
Every second that passed seemed to be another minute.
She asked so why is she suddenly feeling so shy?
"The most beautiful." And she meant it. To Yongsun's eyes, she is the most beautiful.

Call Me Yours
on a little bit of a spree to finish off the kinktober fics!! so here's another one for you lovelies!! kim solar x reader disclaimer/s : smut. i suggest going to read some fluffier or angstier content
Tumblr media
Solar was proud, she never liked admitting her faults. She rarely had many faults, she was a public figure. The group's leader. The singer needed to be on top of everything and hold her head up high. She represented a unit.
Then you strolled into her life, challenging her in ways she never thought of. Like tonight.
The singer cries out for the nth time of the evening, her voice hoarse and breath ragged. Your fingers curling in her cunt slowly, just enough to have her screaming your name. Your lips leaving lingering kisses on her jaw with a knowing smirk.
"I know you want to cum, princess..." You whisper against her blushing skin. You pull away from her a little, watching as her mouth fell wide open as drool dribbled down her chin. Pleasure wracking her mind as she lost control of her body. You lick the trail from her chin to the corner of her lip, nipping down on her lower lip only making her groan louder. "And I can let you, if you'd give me what I want."
"All you have to do is say it..." You pull your fingers from her overheating center, Solar screams in pure frustration before lifting her head to glare into your eyes. She's seething as she grinds her hips down onto the plush of the comforter, trying to reach her high. You take her hips in your hand, forcefully keeping her in place. Your grip so tight you're sure it'll leave marks on her pristine skin. "...Tell me you're mine. Admit that I'm the only one who can make you feel this fucking good, Solar." You husk as you stare into her dark, clouded eyes.
You pull her into a searing kiss, your teeth clashing with hers and tongues meeting messily as she moans. The hands on your back clawing violently, making you hiss. Her nails leave hot marks all over your skin, sure to be sore in the morning.
Kim Solar will always fight you for these things.
You pull away and look down at her smiling wickedly at you, her lips turning a fiery red from the harsh meeting. You sneer as she says with emphasis. "Never."
A dark chuckle falls from your lips as you readjust yourself above her, your free hand dancing down to her hot and probably red cunt. Barely grazing the skin before her confident demeanor shatters and she cries out desperately. Your fingers are feather light as they circle around her center, always just missing her clit and the wetness that had accumulated for the hour of denial.
"You're going to break eventually, baby." You tease, leaning down to suck on her hickey-ridden chest, her nipple swirling against your tongue. Solar's body jump-starting again as your fingers dutifully plunged into her heat, pumping in and out as your mouth worked hard on her chest.
Solar's hands weaved up and into your hair tugging as her hips ground against your long fingers. She cries out and feels her pussy clench as you bump against the spongey spot in her, the heel of your hand ramming against the bud of her cunt. Her eyes water as she feels her orgasm piling on...but she knows you can tell.
Your movements slow again, and your hand slowly inches out of her. As proud as she was, she couldn't spend another half hour repeating this. Not again. Her other hand tops yours over her needy cunt, begging, "No. Please, Y/n...N/nnnnn..." She whines as you smirk against her.
Popping her abused nipple from your lips you smile at her, your lips closing in on hers. "Tell me what I want to hear..." You peck her lips, gentle and loving, "Tell me the truth and I'll fuck you dumb, Solar." Another peck, longer than the last one. She enjoys the attention for a moment before you pull away. "I promise."
Solar smiles, finally conceding to your game. She wraps her arms around your neck, pulling you in for a long, passionate kiss. One so intense it left you breathless as she pulled away, almost missing the words that fell from her lips. "You win. You, Y/F/N, are the only one who can make me feel this good, this wanted, this desperate..." The singer pulls you in for another kiss when she whispers against your lips, "Call me yours, baby."
You smirk before nodding, "You're all mine, Solar..." You piston your fingers into her at a blinding pace, her eyes rolling to the back of her head as she chants your name. You kiss your way to her ear, bitting down on her lobe, "And I'll make you and the whole world fucking remember it."
Her moans echo through the room, raising in volume as her climax swiftly approached, your arm cramping with how hard and fast it was moving. Solar's hips stuttered intensely as she whined against your neck, "I'm coming...! Y/n! Yes! Yes! Oooooooooh fuck!"
You smile as you feel her entire body tense up, her voice blaring in your ear momentarily deafening you as her cunt tightened around your fingers. Her entire body collapses onto the bed tiredly, her chest heaving and a small whimper falling from her lips as you pull your drenched digits out.
"That was the most I've cum my entire life..." She pants tiredly before you nod at her enthusiastically, laughing softly. "Yeah I can tell." Solar makes an attempt to kick you only to flail about making you laugh even harder. She whines embarrassed.
You eye your hand, lifting it up to suck your fingers, while she watches you intently, moaning at the taste of her wetness. She smiles sleepily as you sidle up beside her, staring down at her with complete adoration. You lean down, pecking her lips chastely before whispering, "You're all mine, then?"
Solar giggles, taking your cheek in her hand, stroking your cheekbone gently, "All yours."
i quite liked this one, got a little lost in the middle but i got there i think HAHAHAHA okay, okay!! not too many of these left but i will finish my prompt list for you all 💓 i love you all so, so much!! i hope you're all taking care and i will see you all vv soon. byeeee - r

Right All Along
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Actions have consequences, and maybe you need a quick reminder.
Pairing: Solar x Reader
Warnings: Highly suggestive, hinting to smut
A/N: i originally planned to write around 300 words, but i had Sickick- Mind Games (slowed) on loop so i went with the flow and 800 words appeared. 😀
All grammatical mistakes are mine as per usual.
Tumblr media
“You’ve been eyeing all night before my performance.”
Your ears perk at a click of the door falling shut with a subsequent lock. You glance over your shoulder, finding Yongsun’s eyes staring into yours as she leans against the door, a coy smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Turning in her direction, you let out a hum, but there is a definite note of insecurity in your voice that doesn’t suit you. Yongsun shakes her head with a sigh, moving away from the door as she takes a daring step towards you, clearly not satisfied with your response.
“Perhaps we need something to evoke your memory.” The sultry tone in her voice is evident, eliciting some kind of amusement beyond her teasing remark, as Yong steps even closer. Resting her arms on the table behind you until she feels your fingers against the dorsum of her hands, coolness fanning from the air-conditioner above. You look up, letting her eyes devour you as you finally acknowledge the proximity between your bodies. There is an abrupt anticipation in the room, and you can feel goosebumps forming on your skin but not from the air-conditioning overhead.
Yong steps into the space between you, a shallow breath lifting from her parted lips as her gaze roams over your features for a moment before it rests at your lips. The physical contact is minimal, just barely feeling the warmth of her skin pressing against yours. But your pulse is quickening at the slight pressure that lingers there, waiting for something more.
“What you did was…” she trails off, trying to think of the right words. Your lips are ajar, a soft breath escaping unwittingly as Yong leans forward, your noses brushing together.
“Unprofessional,” she emphasizes, voice low and soft. Her fingers thread into your hair, bringing your face down closer to her as a shudder runs down your spine, slightly surprised by the intimacy of the action. You glance up to find that Yong has followed suit, now locking into a gaze together as your breaths become in sync. You swallow dryly, her thumb skimming along your lower lip before she halts at your chin, a cold peck of her finger pressing onto the skin.
It feels as if time slows for a moment, each second dragging on as the thumping of your heart drums a continual rhythm in your ears, certain that it’s audible if she listens intently. Her lips part slightly as you both stand there, holding each other with the air-conditioner breathing over your heads while the line between your faces grows slimmer.
You expect a response from Yong, but she doesn’t give one. Instead, the warmth of her breath ghosts over your skin before her lips promptly replaces the sensation, soft and smooth as they press against yours, tongue sweeping over your bottom lip as she parts them.
Gasping when Yong draws her hands away from your hair, fingertips trailing chills along your arms as she tugs at the hem of your shirt. Immediately the tempo speeds up again; every cell within you alive with electricity and every fibre screaming to be touched.
There’s an unexpected rush of heat rising from your core as Yong holds her other hand up to hold your jaw, teeth grazing against your lips with a gentle nip. You let out another gasp against Yong’s mouth, breath puffing against hers and the intensity of her eyes tells you she’s made her point.
“Hmmm… maybe I was right all along,” she chuckles but a mischievous smile soon takes over. Barely paying mind to the staffs’ voices outside the dressing room, as Yong slips her hand under your shirt, palm curving the underside of your breast. Leaning in, she lets her lips trace along your jawline, then your neck while she marks up the sensitive skin.
Your back arches up into Yong and you can feel her weight press against you, slipping out an accidental moan as her scent becomes more intoxicating.
You need her.
But before you can say anything, there’s a faint knock on the door as the air-conditioner turns off, only realizing its absence when you both freeze mid-motion, eyes darting towards the door.
“Solar-ssi?” Byulyi’s voice comes through loud and clear. “Is everything okay in there? You’ve been inside for quite some time, and our staff are almost done packing.”
Yong pulls away from you, propping her arms against the table behind you before she tips her head up and laughs at your whine, eyes gleaming with mischief.
“I think we better get going. Don’t you agree, sweetheart?”

[2:58 am]
(solar x reader, fluff, ~500 words)
cw: yong's drunk lol
Most nights you wouldn’t notice Yongsun slipping into bed after you’d already fallen asleep. She’d made fun of you on many early mornings for automatically sidling up underneath her arm, curling yourself into her while staying completely asleep, like a reflex.
But tonight she makes quite the ruckus when she comes home, nearly yanking the duvet all the way onto her side after flopping into bed. You groan loudly in protest, a little annoyed from the abrupt awakening.
“Have a good time tonight?” you mutter groggily.
“Mhm, are you asking for one?” She giggles quietly, the sharpness of alcohol on her breath permeating the air between you.
“Very funny. Did you brush your teeth at least?” A disembodied whine emanates from her face burying itself into the pillow, but she swings her legs out from under the covers to head to the bathroom.
“Why do you have to be so responsible?” she stresses as she shuffles to the bathroom. Responsible? More like taking the the opportunity to reclaim your fair share of the duvet. You roll over with the covers under your arm to face the edge of the bed.
The covers shift more calmly when she gets back in some time later. Hard to say how long when sleep is creeping back up on you.
“How come you never cuddle me?” she asks in a volume far too loud given her proximity. Your back faces her but you’re certain her lower lip juts out in a pout while she says it. It’s too dark to see anything anyway.
You roll over, shushing her quietly with a smile and gently reminding her that all she had to do was ask. She huffs and rolls over with her back to you. You take it as a cue, wrapping your arm over her side and placing a soft kiss on her cheek. She slides a hand over yours, holding it to her.
“You’re not going anywhere,” she states matter-of-factly. Yongsun’s a little out of it still, but at least she’s home safe with you.
“Wouldn’t dream of it,” you mutter into her neck.
“You wouldn’t dream of me?” A little huff escapes her, a slight kick tangling her ankles with yours. Ah, drunk logic.
“Why dream if you’re right here? Besides, all sorts of weird stuff can happen in a dream.” You start rattling off the possibilities, surprisingly well-articulated and coherent amidst the ramble. But there’s no reply when you finish, because the silence between you is cut with her breathing, slow and deep. Her hand starts to loosen its grip over yours, but she still holds it to her somehow. You can’t help the little smile that pulls at your lips— both at her ridiculous logic that you could clown her for in the morning, and her adamant affection, even when asleep.
Your breathing slows in tandem with hers, reveling in the warmth of your girlfriend-turned-personal-heater. The brief thought of dreaming of her flashes in your mind just as you finally drift off back to sleep.

Mamamoo Reaction to 5th Member Wanting To Leave With Wheein
--------------------------------------------------
Requested? ☑
"I'm learning to fly, but I ain't got wings."
Genre: Angst
Warnings: None
--------------------٩(◕‿◕。)۶--------------------
The five of you were seated in your CEO'S office, and the contract for your renewal was on the desk infront of you, the final chance to change your mind being offered and encouraged to be taken.
You take a deep breath, and you flash your CEO a kind smile, then you shake your head before gently pushing the contract paper back towards him.
Saddened acceptance is palpable in the room's atmosphere as collective intakes of breaths are heard.
Kim Yongsun/Solar:
Tumblr media
Dodging
Yongsun's eyes close as her hold on her knees tighten, her spine tenses up and it makes her sit up straighter than she normally does. For the first time in a long time, she lets herself take a breath to steel herself in the heat of a moment. She already been forming plans on how to cope with the lack of Wheein's presence in the group on-stage. But now with you making it official?
She has to stand strong, even if it feels like there's a missing piece of her heart.
Moon Byul-yi/Moonbyul:
Tumblr media
Disbelief
Moonbyul leans back in her seat, a hand coming to cover her mouth, her eyes drift towards her girlfriend- Whose posture has morphed from an anticipating sort of tense to a tense that's now anticipating a fallout. "No doubt, Yongsun is trying to logic her way out of emotions." She thinks to herself.
Moonbyul takes a shaky breath, how she's going to cope with the ruthless working environment of their profession without your sunny disposition around to lift them up in the middle of a late night shoot? She doesn't know.
Jung Wheein:
Tumblr media
Torn
You told Wheein you were doing this not to follow in her footsteps, but because you also feel like it's time to move forward on your own. But somewhere in her mind and heart, are voices speaking in tandem: If she hadn't decided on this road, then you wouldn't have either.
She's leaving too, but in a way she feels as if you're leaving them, like she's staying to be a part of the group and you're the only one leaving.
Ahn Hyejin/Hwasa:
Tumblr media
Determined
Twice in her life had Hyejin made a promise to herself that she couldn't keep. The first was promising herself that should Wheein leave, then so would she. The second was promising herself that Mamamoo would stay would stay a five member group til' the end. Now she's faced with the uneniable fact that Mamamoo is no longer Mamamoo.
The group's broken up, but that doesn't mean that the friendship that binds the five of you has to. With a heart less downed than the other memebers, Hyejin whispers "Mamamoo will always be Mamamoo at heart and in spirit."
--------------------٩(◕‿◕。)۶--------------------
A/N: I made myself cry with that last sentence. Oh how the turning of the tables 🤡

Crowded places were not your cup of tea. It's why you often didn't go to parties or go through the city during lunch hour. It didn't bother you too much in your day-to-day as you usually found ways to avoid going to overly crowded places. You had expressed this before to Solar, for which she had been incredibly accommodating and caring. There have even been times when you've gone to a Mamamoo concert and she's let you stand backstage or had a place set up for you to watch without being in the crowd too much.
However, this time you couldn't avoid it.
You both had bought tickets to see a movie that had recently come out. Thinking that it would come out early on in the month, the tickets were booked towards the end of the month so it wouldn't be as crowded in the movie theatre.
What you hadn't realized was that the movie wasn't released on the 5th. It would be released on the 25th of that month. So instead of the peaceful environment, you both had anticipated, the theatre lobby was packed with people.
It didn't take long for everything around you to sink in. You could feel your breathing getting shaky and your vision getting blurry. You tried to reach for Solar to let her know something wasn't right with you but you couldn't find her. You might have lost her in the crowd while you were pausing to recuperate. It was only with that realization that you felt your vision fade to black and your knees give out.
When you came to, you found yourself on Solar's lap as she brushed her fingers through your hair. You couldn't help but thank her for not making it bigger than it was and call an ambulance.
"I hadn't realized that I got the release date wrong. I'm so sorry, sunshine."
"It's okay, really. I'm sorry for basically passing out and embarrassing you in front of people like that."
"Please don't worry about things like that! You had no control over that. Plus, I think they're giving us free movie tickets, so be prepared to have theatres all to ourselves."

Last night had not gone well for you. You ended up getting out of work much later than anticipated, to the point where you missed the last train at the station. To make it all worse, it had started raining, so you found yourself standing in the middle of the night during a downpour, calling your girlfriend to pick you up.
Thankfully, Moonbyul was able to pick you up that night and bring you back to your shared apartment. She made you a cup of hot chocolate while you took a warm bath and dried up. You both ended up going to bed soon after.
When you woke up the next morning, you felt very warm. You looked at the time and realized it was much later than you expected. You were sure Moonbyul had left for work by now. Thinking nothing of how you were feeling, you decided to get up and prepare for your morning. However, you realized that something wasn't right, as you could feel yourself getting lightheaded and feeling overall groggy.
After calling your workplace, you decided to leave Moonbyul a voicemail to let her know you weren't feeling well and not going to work. In the middle of your recording your message, you felt the phone slip out of your hand as your body fell to the floor.
When Moonbyul got your message, she immediately could tell something was wrong. You were slurring your speech, almost like you hadn't properly woken up yet, before she heard the phone fall to the floor. She called your name a few times; when she heard no response, she asked Solar if she could leave early to check on you, before practically racing through traffic to get home to you.
When she reached you, you were lying on your side on the floor, the phone now laying beside you. She knelt down beside you. It felt like ages as she sat beside you, waiting for you to wake up. As you stirred and fluttered your eyes open, she rubbed her thumb over your cheek to keep you calm.
"Hey, baby. How are you feeling?"
"I don't feel great. I think the rain from last night caught up with me today."
"I think so too. But don't worry, I'm here to take care of you. And then as soon as you're better, I'm definitely teaching you how to drive."

You had suffered from iron deficiency since you were young. Because you'd been going through it for so long, you knew how to take care of yourself, taking the appropriate doses of iron tablets and making sure to eat the appropriate meals. However, one of the more dreadful processes you couldn't avoid was your menstrual cycle.
Often, when you get your period, you'd feel significantly fatigued and even at times dizzy. Because of that, amongst other reasons, you were thankful to find a job that was more flexible to your schedule, allowing you to work online more and work at a week-to-week basis.
When your menstrual cycle started this time, however, there was a heavier flow than normal. Your dizzy spells were much more intense and it felt like you couldn't get up.
Wheein had woken up before you did, getting ready in the bathroom. All of a sudden, she heard you yell out her name from the bedroom. She yelled back a 'good morning, sleepy', thinking you were so cute for yelling out her name so early. She hadn't realized anything was wrong until she heard her name again, quieter this time, before she heard a loud thump on the floor.
She ran into your shared bedroom and found you laying down on the floor. She lightly slapped your cheek trying to get you to wake up before realizing you had fainted. She checked the bed and noticed a red spot where you were previously laying down. As soon as she realized what happened, she ran to get a towel to place under you before laying you down on your back. She ran to the kitchen to find your iron tablet, a glass of water, and a small snack to eat. She placed those on the counter before ripping off the bedsheets and blanket from the bed to put them into the wash while she waited for you to wake up. She kept a close eye on you the entire time to make sure your situation didn't get worse or last for longer than it should.
She was grateful that it didn't take too long for you to wake up as she was starting to worry about calling an ambulance. She handed you the granola bar before urging you to take the tablets and drink water.
"I'm already soaking the sheets as we speak and I'm gonna order us breakfast in a bit."
"I'm sorry for making such a mess. I forgot that my period might start today."
"Hey puppy, it's alright. I'm here to take care of you so no need to worry. I've got you."

Most of the time, you tell Hwasa everything that happens in your life. With both of your busy lives, one of the ways you guys have kept such a stable and healthy relationship is by being open about everything that's going on with your lives. Even if it's been minuscule things, like how you burned toast in the toaster one morning, those small things help you stay really connected.
However, with Mamamoo's newest comeback around the corner, Hwasa was having less time available to talk to you about your days, often texting you with an "I'm so sorry, but I don't think I can come early tonight. Please don't stay up for me and get your rest." You were understanding of her situation, knowing before you started dating her that the busy idol life will come with it. So with that, you would try to stay up as late as you could before going to bed around midnight or one a.m.
Because of Hwasa's stressful schedule though, you both weren't able to talk much about what's been happening in your lives. So, instead of being able to vent it to your partner, you would bottle it up and put it to the side, ignoring it.
This albeit was unhealthy, but you didn't realize its consequences until one night. You couldn't sleep properly and thankfully you could hear Hwasa at the door. You got up to greet her, but as soon as you got to the front door where she was taking off her shoes, you could feel your legs give out, and you fall into unconsciousness.
Hwasa was so thankful to be within reaching distance to grab you as you fell. She gently lowered you down and laid you with your back on the floor. She was very worried about your health but waited for you to wake up. She grabbed water, and some cushions before placing them around you. Soon after, you woke up, blinking a few times to get your bearings before your eyes landed on her.
You asked her what happened and she explained that you fainted right as she had entered the house.
"Hey sweets, do you know why that might've happened? You don't have to tell me right now, but I was really scared for you."
"Ah, I'm not a hundred percent sure but I think it may have been stress? Work has been really hard on me lately."
"Oh, I didn't know. I'm sorry I haven't been there for you lately. I promise to do better! But you also have to promise to tell me these things. What happened at work? Who do I have to fight?"

Mean Solarsido - Solar - GN! Reader
Slight Angst/Fluff
Tumblr media
Sometimes jokes can go a little too far
“Hey everyone! Welcome to… SO-LAR-SI-DO~ I’m Solar!” Yongsun energetically waved at the camera she placed at the counter of your kitchen. “Truth is… I’m a little nervous… As you saw on the title, I’m going to prank (Y/N)… I’ve been seeing some videos on TikTok and that made me want to try those pranks… they can get a little cruel though” Yongsun said to the camera showing some nervousness and doubt in her future actions. Yes, she was planning something out of the ordinary but she was really curious about your reaction and she thought that maybe a TikTok pranks recompilation being done on you was going to be a really good video. She had planned many things though, things like the towel prank, pretending to be mad towards you, giving you some jealousy but today she was planning a little prank, a lot crueler.
She didn’t want a break up prank, not yet at least, but rather something else. She was going to say to you that you will no longer appear on her videos because with you in them they weren’t receiving much views, while those in which Byulyi made an appearance received much more. This meaning that those travel vlogs, couple challenges and other various videos wouldn’t continue or they wouldn’t include you in them.
She then prepared everything before you arrived from work, she hid a small camera behind the TV in your living room and also prepared an emergency supply of movies, a small gift and candies to cheer you up and make you forgive her in case something get out of hand. She knows you won’t lose control, but maybe you’ll get a little sad, or frustrated, or even angry, but at least she took calm in knowing you would never hurt her in any way or take any rash decisions.
Yongsun sat on the couch for about five minutes trying to get her nerves out until she heard the door of your apartment opening.
Her heart rate went up to the skies as she saw Yongkeey running towards the entrance to receive you and she heard your voice. “Hello girl! Missed me?”
She still had time to back away, she still had time for a second thought, she could still back away and pretend she wasn’t just planning on pulling a mean prank on you, she-
“Are you alright?” Your voice caught her attention instantly. You could see something in her eyes, fear, nervousness, anxiety. Suddenly, you forgot about the tiredness you’ve been accumulating along the day and sat beside her. “Is something wrong?”
Yongsun immediately nodded slowly. Now she was in deep, she just dug up her own tomb but she then understood how much deeper she was when you put your hands on hers.
“Want to talk about it?” You smiled warmly at her. Was she really about to do this to you?
“I need to tell you something” Yes, she was. Your heart started pumping blood a lot faster, that phrase was a bad sign that something was about to happen but you still maintained your smile and calm exterior, you’ll respect her decision, whatever it was. “I… I don’t want you to appear on my YouTube channel again…”
“W-Why?” For one part, she wasn’t breaking up with you, for the other part, it hurts, it burnt your heart. You enjoyed a lot of things, but you enjoyed them a lot more when you did them beside her, when you helped her, or at least you thought you did, in getting content for her channel, you took a lot of joy in supporting her and having fun with her in those challenges she loved so much.
“It’s boring…” Ouch… “…Apparently, it’s more enjoyable when you aren’t there… and people prefer Byul-yi… so…” She licked her lips in nervousness waiting for a reaction out of you but you were in shock, so much that Yongsun couldn’t even read your emotions until your eyes started to fill up with tears.
“I see” That boring part, that hit you hard, directly into an insecurity of yours. “It’s your content after all” You took your hands out of hers, forcing your tears in, not wanting her to feel guilty at all but it was impossible.
“Don’t cry~” Yongsun couldn’t keep up the prank and immediately hugged you close, hiding your face on her neck as she stroked your hair. “I’m sorry! It was a small prank!”
“A… prank?” You looked up to her and her mischievous grin. “That was mean…”
“I’m sorry~” She kissed your forehead and then pointed to the TV. “I was recording it for Solarsido but now I don’t want to use it”
“So I’m not boring?” Yongsun shook her head.
“I have the most fun when I’m with you!” She pecked your lips and smiled brightly at you. “And the videos with you are the most viewed in the channel!” She delivered another peck to your lips bringing you a smile. “I love you”
“I’m still thinking about it” Yongsun opened her mouth in shock while you separated from her and stood up from the couch.
You can be as mean as her… as any healthy relationship
I understand now,
It doesn’t matter the pain,
As long as I can see her smile in the end

kim yongsun, so busy and never knowing how to stop, how to slow down and notice things not directly in front of her face.
well. even things directly in front of her face.
“you can’t hold your liquor,” you told her off maybe a bit too snappishly. you took the burden of her body weight as she was transferred from byul’s shoulder to yours.
“i didn’t drink much,” she mumbled. “i’m just sleepy.”
“is that true?” you raised your eyebrows at byulyi, who shrugged noncommittally.
“honestly, i didn’t notice her drinking that much. but yeah, she's a lightweight.”
“am not!” your roommate’s cheeks flushed pinker in indignation, turning to glare at her best friend. byul stuck her tongue out at her, but you started carrying yong off before she could escalate the silly spat.
“careful, yong!”
“i told you, i’m not that drunk.”
she haphazardly kicked off her shoes in the entryway and stepped into the apartment. she drooped sleepily, but her steps were relatively straight. she walked into the living room and plopped on the couch, staring ahead of her at nothing in particular.
you glanced at the wall clock, properly exasperated now. “it’s past midnight, you should go to bed.”
yongsun’s wide eyes turned to you. “i’m too awake to sleep.”
“go lie down and you’ll get sleepy.”
“no.”
kim yongsun was infuriatingly stubborn on occasions.
“fine, i’m going to bed,” you said flatly.
but yong got to her feet first, walking past you to the kitchen. you turned to see her opening the fridge door and extricating a bottle of soju. she fumbled around in the cabinet for a shot glass.
“yong,” you warned, irritation entering your voice now. “go to bed, you’re too drunk.”
“i’m not. i’m too sober.” she sat down at the kitchen table, setting down two glasses. her dark eyes were maybe lucid after all, staring with an insistent plead. “drink with me?”
you hesitated. she cracked the bottle open anyway, pouring two shots and watching you expectantly.
you couldn’t be sure why you obliged her. maybe she’d worn you down after all, and you had been bored at home all saturday evening. maybe the appeal in her eyes was just a bit too persuasive.
you sat across from her, clinked the glasses and downed the first one. the liquor burned warm on its way down, and your first exhale felt like steam rising from a hot rock.
yongsun met your eyes with a curious stare, her fingers absently tracing the edge of her shot glass. you suddenly felt self conscious, and realized that the two of you were sitting in thick silence.
“why so desperate for a drink?” you asked pointedly, staring at the text of the bottle label but not reading it. “trying to forget something?”
“no,” she said slowly. “trying to remember. or understand, i guess.”
“alcohol doesn’t make someone smarter, babo,” you retorted humorously, getting to your feet to avoid her interrogative gaze. you rummaged the pantry for anju, coming up with a meager bag of chips. you’d have killed for some roasted squid, but this would have to do.
you sat back down, leaning back lazily and propping your feet up on the chair next to you. you tore the bag and the little round snacks scattered on the tabletop.
“what’re you trying to understand? maybe i can help. so we can go to sleep.”
“i don’t know if you can help.”
you probably took the rejection too personally.
“what’s that mean?”
“it’s just in my head.”
“...okay.”
you poured yourselves a second round of drinks. when you sipped, she one-shotted. you felt creeping concern for your friend now, slowly drawing the bottle across the table to your side and out of her reach.
“can you figure it out without giving yourself alcohol poisoning, please?”
“give it a second.”
“what?”
“give it a second to kick in.”
she took a deep breath, staring at the tabletop. a minute passed, you finished your shot and snacked quietly.
“it’s about you.”
you nearly jumped at her sudden proclamation. you had nearly entered a trance, listening to the humming of the refrigerator and the crunch of the peanut snacks between your teeth.
“what?”
“i don’t understand you. or i guess myself. about you. what i think.” she spoke hesitantly, statements stilted. “what i feel.”
it took a couple seconds for her words to register in your own lightly buzzed mind. you throat suddenly felt dry.
“hm.”
luckily it seemed she had more words lined up. they followed in a more coherent fashion this time.
“there’s something else, but i don’t get it. i thought it was normal stuff, but you don’t do it with others, do you?” she looked at you with reproach. “you don’t stick to byul or wheein or hyejinie’s side like you do mine, right? you don’t know their schedules like you do mine. you didn’t call them after dark when you needed to talk to someone, did you?"
her gaze froze you, a deer in her searchlights.
“did you?”
these weren’t rhetorical questions.
“no.”
“that’s what i realized.”
she sat back, frowning.
“why would you?”
you felt frustration bubble up suddenly, long trapped under a firm ground of hardened resignation. you really hadn’t expected yong to hit that groundswell, but here she was, demanding to know why you were just that bit more attentive to her.
her cheeks were flushed red, lips pressed together in comical confoundment, staring at her hands on the table. your eyes followed the line of her lips as they unfurled gradually, wetted and blushed pink by the prior pressure of being pursed.
you averted your eyes when you realized she was staring right back. she’d probably noticed the dizzy focus of your own gaze.
“because you’re my friend.” you finally answered lamely.
“bullshit.”
the word was adamant, but her tone was less convinced.
“what do you want me to say?” you said, pouring yourself another glass. you didn’t fill hers. “what do you want to hear?”
but it seemed she was bent on being the interrogator in this conversation. “why’d you want to move in with me? why not byulyi, or even wheenie or hyejinie?”
“you wanted to, too!” you burst out. your eyes suddenly burned with tears; throwing back the last dregs of your glass didn’t stop them from falling. you dabbed them away quickly, shoving the bottle away from both of you this time.
you inhaled deeply, trying to steady your voice. “you wanted to. you…why do you have to put it that way?” you covered your face, pressing the heels of your palms into your eyes in a futile bid to stop tears. “you make me feel disgusting. like…like i’m a fucking creep.”
she was quiet.
“i’ll leave you the fuck alone now. but don’t act like you didn’t seek it out, or reciprocate, or like it or want it,” you stammered, words long held back rushing out in a tearful mess. “if it’s what you want now, i’ll leave you alone. just don’t…don’t play with me. i can’t stand it, yongsun-ah. i can’t…”
your voice broke and you gave up there, stifling real sobs.
her chair creaked and pushed across the floor, and soon you felt a gentle hand on your shoulder. the other carefully pried your hands away from your face.
she had tears in her eyes too. her usual smiling mouth was downturned in a trembling frown. on the nights you used to have curled up in bed and stifling frustrated tears, you’d bitterly imagined yong hurting as much as you did, imagined her finally understanding the agony you’d experienced at her silly, careless, naive, self-centered hands. you thought it would relieve some of the awful cold weight on your chest.
but her sadness pulled down on you until you thought you had emptied of all but despair. how could you blame her? how could she have understood if she didn’t understand, if she hadn’t known herself, in an environment that made it nearly impossible to?
she held your hand tightly, placed the other on the side of your face. she gently tugged you to her feet, and you moved as if in a dream.
it had to be a dream, because kim yongsun had drawn up close to you until you felt the heat of her body in such still, close proximity. her face was just inches from yours, her eyes roving your expression carefully, nervously, desperately. and when she met your eyes fully, there was want in her eyes.
not in a physical or lustful way. but with a fundamental need that you felt too, in your bones and breath.
she kissed you first. you’d imagined a hundred different scenarios for this occasion, but she chose one that was characteristically kim yongsun–decisive, insistent, certain. her lips claimed yours. she chose you.
the kiss broke away with ragged inhales of two people kissing through tears. eye contact made the two of you suddenly shy, and your awkward laugh was contagious. your head buzzed with a confusion of emotions and sensations; your hands had fallen to her waist and pressed her body close against yours, pressed close and wobbling in the middle of the kitchen like a single, unsteady being.
“it’s never…never easy with you,” you mumbled. it wasn’t meant to be angry, and she didn’t take it as such. but she did accept the accusation.
“i’m sorry,” she whispered, pressing her face into your neck, her tears wetting your shirt. “i’m sorry.”
“it’s okay,” you answered quietly, and meant it. “it’s not easy.”

four kinds of farewells
trainee!reader has to break the news to pre-mamamoo unit that they’re leaving rbw and the unit.
implied reader/wheein, though it’s probably just trainees crushin’ on each other at this time.
CW: no content warnings :)
----
telling the others was twice as hard as making the decision to leave.
you told byulyi first, mainly because you were afraid of telling yongsun. her reaction was of quiet resignation. maybe she had sensed your unease over the past few weeks.
“i knew something was on your mind,” she said over the sushi dinner you two were halfway through. “when did you decide?”
“two days ago. i’m…i’m pretty certain.”
“then why are you hesitating right now?” she prodded good naturedly. you cracked a faux-annoyed smile.
“because i’m nervous about talking about it, dummy.” you tossed a used napkin at her, which she easily dodged.
“nervous? to talk to me? don’t be.” she chewed on a piece of ginger. “be nervous about talking to yongsun unnie.”
“i am. and…and wheein.”
not because you feared her wrath, but rather seeing your closest friend’s heart break might shatter you as well.
byul looked troubled too. “well. thanks for trusting me first.”
“i picked you because you’re a pushover, unnie,” you answered with a grin. it was her turn to return the napkin, which you caught instead. you resumed dining for a moment, though you felt her searching gaze flit across the table for the rest of the evening. above all, byulyi was attentive.
—-
yong was, unfortunately, the opposite. and she didn’t appreciate such surprises.
(choosing to tell her next was also an admission to the fact that you dreaded talking to wheein more than her. and telling hyejin would be like telling wheein’s telepathic other half.)
so here you were, seated on the floor of the practice room alone with your trainee unit leader, fidgeting with your pant leg and unable to look her in the eye.
“wow.” she sounded indecipherable. “since when did you…?”
“we’ve been in talks since february,” you admitted. “i confirmed with our ceo two days ago and said we’ll start finalizing negotiations soon but…” you swallowed the knot in your throat. “i wanted to tell you guys first.”
“oh.”
you sneaked a look at yongsun. you were dismayed to see saddened betrayal all over her face rather than anger. she scanned your face imploringly.
“what are they offering you?” that we can’t. that i couldn’t. was the implicit question.
“rbw doesn’t have the resources to promote a soloist and a group at the same time,” you said in your practiced words, though a rehearsed calm wasn’t easy to draw out. “i didn’t think it was fair…”
“why solo, though?” she prodded. the question she wasn’t shy of.
“i can’t match you guys. i’m not ready to debut, i don’t think i could without holding you all back.”
it was completely truthful. mamamoo was champing at the bit to debut. the four of them were ready as ever to present their hard work to the world—especially yongsun, whose unspoken situation was her time to debut was running out.
“you’re not being fair to yourself,” yongsun answered fiercely. if the leader excelled at anything, it was believing deeply in her members and refusing to let them forget it. “you’re an important part of us, you can’t discount that.”
you looked at her helplessly. “sm offered me at least another year and a half of training before evaluating if i’m ready to debut.” you stared down at your hands. “unnie, i’ve made my decision.”
“you can’t…you can’t abandon us.”
“i’m not abandoning—“
“then what is it? you’re walking out.” she countered.
“we all agreed it’s for the benefit of everyone,” you said lamely. yongsun bolted to her feet, and when you chanced a glance up at her, her eyes were brimming with angry tears.
“‘we’, huh?” she responded, her voice raising tremulously. “everyone but us—“
“you all were the first and last thing i thought about!” you yelled back, but she had already thrown her gym bag over her shoulder and was storming out.
“you’re so selfish!”
you only looked up from your tears when you heard the door swing open. hyejin stood silently in the doorway, looking very small and quiet.
“is everything okay, unnie?”
—-
this was not the ideal way to tell hyejinie. but she was the warmest about it.
“you’re gonna be great,” she squeezed you in a hug. “it’s a big decision, i’m proud of you.”
“yongsun unnie…” you mumbled into her shoulder. hyejin laughed softly, the vibration of her chuckle pressed into your own chest. she drew back, pushing your hair behind your ear.
“she’ll come around eventually,” she said with an exasperated eyeroll. “she can’t help but feel responsible for everything. but she’ll figure it out. have you told byul unnie yet?”
“yeah.” you offered a sheepish grin. “sorry.”
“no, that’s who i would tell first too,” she said dryly. “they’ll have a good long chat and byulyi unnie will talk her down. just give her time.”
“yeah,” you conceded. your next breath came as a loud sigh as you lay flat against the hardwood floor. she lay down next to you, touching the crown of your head with hers. the two of you lay there for a while.
ahn hyejin was good at making one feel quietly understood. you would miss that most about her.
—-
“everyone’s so miserable lately! fill me in, i feel so left out.”
wheein’s bright grin beamed over the box of chicken and beer she had jaunted over to your apartment with. she pushed her way in, setting the food down on your table and turning back around. her smile dropped a tad at what was indeed probably a miserable expression. “you’re scaring me.”
you shut the door and stepped toward her, watching her eyes draw wider in concern. “wheein, i’m…i’m leaving rbw.”
she looked at you uncomprehendingly.
“what?”
“i’m joining sm as a trainee for at least another year. i’ll probably debut solo.”
she sat down slowly, the news slowly dawning on her and pulling the corners of her mouth down with it.
“i’m the last one to know, huh?” she said sadly. “no wonder…”
“i feared telling you most,” you added earnestly, sitting down across from her and grabbing her hands on the table. she searched your face for the truth. you already laid it bare.
she got to her feet and you leapt to stop her, fearing an exit like yong’s, but she only walked to your kitchen and retrieved two glasses. she set them down on the dining table next to you, stopping to stand and look you in the eyes.
the proximity of your fellow trainee—ex-fellow-trainee—made your heart skip a beat. she took your empty hands in hers and squeezed lightly, pulling you even closer.
“we don’t have to act like it’s farewell,” she said quietly, gaze flitting between your eyes. “it doesn’t have to be.”
and you knew that she could never have left your life anyway, not when it was about jung wheein first, and everything else in your crazy careers second.

A Thousand Reasons
i thought of this while drinking one night and imagined how people with addictions handle love and how their loved ones take their issues. i wrote this when i wasn't in a good headspace but it honestly came out beautifully. i hope you all enjoy! kim yongsun / solar x reader disclaimer/s : other than this being angst, it talks about alcohol and almost abusive behaviour. please don't let this be a guide or romanticized more of a work of fiction and a cautionary tale. please read this with a level head. don't have relationships like this, for God's sake. Again i'm going to put a very big TRIGGER WARNING HERE
Tumblr media
Solar loved you. You were everything she'd ever wanted and more. A loving girlfriend, her number one fan, an understanding friend, and the first reason she found to smile every day. You gave her a thousand reasons to fall in love with you, every single day of her life. Which is why the last words she ever said to you rang in her head like a church bell, even years after.
"I never want to see you again!" The singer screamed down the hallway of your shared apartment as you walked away with a backpack of clothes, toiletries, and the reason you two'd broken up, a bottle of half-drunken whiskey, loosely wrapped in between your fingers. Before she fell to her knees, sobs ripping from her lips as you walked into the elevator and out of her life.
But you're getting ahead of yourself.
You and Solar met when you were still kids, living next door to one another long before she'd even thought about training. She barely even liked you when you both first met. You'd stepped on her new white shoes while running up to greet her for the first time and she ran home screaming and crying.
The very next day, her mother opened the door to you with a lopsided grin, holding out a pair of your own white shoes. Solar pouted and stomped on the ground when her mother told her to go talk to you.
"I'm sorry, Yongsun-ssi...I didn't mean to..." You said while shifting front and back while holding out the pair of shoes. Solar remained pouting with one eye closed, watching your anxious movements. The expression lightened a bit before she took the shoes from your hands. "Just don't do it again..." She whispered admiring the new items she held in her hands.
You put out your hand, pinky out for her to take. "I promise!"
Solar giggled at your innocence and joy. She wrapped her pinky around yours before you tugged her into your back garden to play. You two became inseparable
When you two grew up, your dynamic barely changed. You were there to annoy her and she was there to make sure you didn't make a complete idiot of yourself. You two walked to school, you ate lunch together, and you both studied together after your classes ended.
It was easy to say that you two spend lots of time together. So much that it left you looking at her longer than you should and that she remembered each of your favorite things and brought them to you when you felt down. It came to a point where neither of you couldn't ignore it anymore.
A week before your school's student dance you stood beside Solar as she rummaged through her table, looking for a specific reference book. "...And then she literally threw her drink in his face for asking another girl to the dance instead of her. It was awesome." You explained what you saw during lunch.
The shorter woman chuckled before her face fell, rolling her eyes right after. You quirked a brow, propping your chin on her shoulder. Another invitation to be their date, you yourself rolled your eyes before plucking it from her hands. "Nope, you aren't going with anyone."
You crumpled the paper, before shooting it in the bin. Solar grinned before draping her arms around your neck. "So I'm not allowed to go with anyone?" You tried controlling the smile that fought its way onto your lips.
Since the announcement of the dance, you'd been blocking anyone who asked Solar out. And it gave your best friend the impression that maybe you felt the same.
You avoided her gaze while she smirked up at you. "S-Since when are you so bold, Yongsun..." You stammered out before she forced you to look at her. She rarely teased you but she sure as hell enjoyed it when she did. Solar leaned close, dangerously close to your lips as she said, "Maybe you'd like to take me, since you're so strict on who takes me."
No longer being able to bite back the smile, you pressed a quick kiss to Solar's nose. "Yeah. I'd like that."
It didn't surprise your other friends or even your families when you two inevitably got together. In fact, it surprised them that it took you that long to admit your feelings to one another.
"What do you mean 'you've known'?" Solar cried dramatically while you laughed, stroking her back gently in attempts to calm her down. Both your family's joined in your laugher as Solar fell back in her seat staring at them all in shock.
You placed your lips gingerly over her cheek, the shock melting into affection and admiration. "It's fine, Yong. Makes everything easier, right?" Your hand moved from her back to caress her cheek gently. Her smile grew as you stared at her.
Your sister pretended to gag which made you laugh heartily. Dinner continued on as normal as it could be. You cracked jokes with her parents while making sure your sister stayed in line.
By the end of the night, you'd walked the Kim family home with Solar staying out on the porch with you. She leaned up against you, soaking up the warmth you provided. Your fingers intertwined with hers as you sung songs to her softly, just for her to hear.
Solar looked up at you as you got so into the words you were singing and she didn't bother fighting the smile that came. After what she'd seen that night, how you calmed her, how you could handle your family and hers, Solar was sure that you were her rock.
A few years went by when you both graduated and moved into your own place. While you two were completely independent, you both still wanted to fall asleep next to each other. While your families and friends thought you were cheesy, you wanted to get used to living with one another.
"Aaaaand that's the last box." You huffed, plopping the box onto the ground. Solar giggled at your overly dramatic performance. She beckoned you onto the newly delivered couch. You grinned before slipping beside her.
The apartment was quaint but it was just the right size for both of you, and was rented at such a low price. You wrapped your arms around Solar's small frame to which she pressed herself further into your embrace. You left a trail of kisses from the tip of the shorter woman's cheeks.
Your hands interlocked with one another, your touch lingering on her left ring finger. "Do you think it'd be this nice if we ever got married, Yong?" You asked hypothetically before her eyes shot up in anxiety and excitement all at once.
She turned around, facing you, shocked expression still over her face. You grinned a little at it before she asked, "Are you serious?" You tilted your head to the side, as if thinking for a moment.
"Not now, of course." She breathed a breath of relief as you placed your lips on hers tenderly, wiping the shock off her face entirely. When you pulled away, she was left in a dreamy state, leaning back into you. "But I'm sure about you, gorgeous. You're my happiness, my sun."
Solar smiled before jumping up and rummaging in one of the unpacked boxes, eyes lighting up when she saw exactly what she wanted. You peaked over from the couch, watching your girlfriend curiously.
"Make a paper ring with me, N/n?"
With that, the promise of you and Solar was set. You worked hard during your college years to be able to help provide for your future, Kim Yongsun and the family you both planned on having. All the while, Solar trained hard and proved to her company that she was an asset they couldn't lose to other bigger managements. She was scheduled to debut.
And when she did, you were there. Front and center to cheer her on.
"There they are! The best group to debut this year!" You called with four bouquets of flowers in your your arms. The girls grinned and thanked you for your support and of course Solar was the last one in front of you.
You leaned down and left a soft kiss on the corner of her lips. "I'm so proud of you Yong." You added another kiss onto her perfectly painted lips before you pulled away, eyes gazing into hers. "I knew you could do it."
The Kim family and yours were incredibly close, so close in fact that you spent the holidays together every year. While you and the Solar's family urged yours not to rush home to keep up tradition rather get settled into their new home in America.
Being your family though, they were some of the most stubborn people in the world.
Your parents and sister were flying in from the U.S to meet you all for New Year. You'd even offered to pick them up, but they insisted that you stay with Solar's family to set up. They were supposed to arrive around nine. Ample time to rest a bit before jumping into the holiday festivities.
Then the clock struck nine. They were just a little late.
Ten. It's only an hour, you assured the Kim's that they were likely lost again. It wouldn't be the first time.
Eleven. Solar arrived from her broadcast recording.
Midnight. Fireworks exploded above head, but your phone rang.
One thirty. The doctors called a time of death.
You sat slumped over your shared bedroom. Solar was at the company practicing for their latest comeback. The office had encouraged you to take a few weeks off to regain your bearings. Your mind was racing, your pulse had hammered violently against your skin, your eyes were sore from all the tears.
You walked into the kitchen, eying the bottle of rum your father had sent over for Christmas. You'd saved it for New Years so you could both drink it together. It was the first alcoholic beverage you'd ever had and he thought it would be symbolic of your new lives, them emigrating and you getting promoted and talking about an engagement.
You popped the bottle open. One shot for your father turned into two. Then three. Then before you knew it, you'd guzzled down three bottles of you and Solar's reserve. As you popped a fourth bottle, your apartment door unlocked.
Solar walked in with a bag of take-out and was shocked to see you piss-drunk. Her eyes filled with tears seeing you that way.
A few bad days passed, then those days became a month. You and Solar were screaming at each other practically every night. Every night became a war in your once warm and happy home. And it always ended with you storming out to some bar to get wasted then Solar would go out to find you. You would make up as she carried you home only for it to repeat the process the next night.
It got to a point where Solar didn't even want to come home, she overworked herself and stayed at the company. Sometimes staying with Moonbyul until you'd have a normal day again but those were scarce and far flung between.
Solar walked into the house and her nose crumpled up in disgust. It smelled of cheap booze and piss. Tears of frustration and anger misted her eyes. Solar picked up the bottles and placed them beside the trash. The clinking stirred you awake. Head throbbing in pain but you eyed your girlfriend.
"Well, nice of you to come home, Yong." Your voice cold as you stumbled up to your feet. Solar stood in place staring at you, disappointment written all over her face. You rolled your eyes and pushed past her, leaning down to look for a still full bottle.
Solar stared at you completely shell-shocked. You looked up at her, brow raised irritated. "What?"
"Are you seriously fucking looking for more alcohol? Are you insane?" You grinned victoriously at the sight of a bottle of beer still half-full. As you pressed the cold glass to your lips, the shorter woman pulled it out of your hands, the bottle crashing onto the tile of the floor.
You grit your teeth and glared at Solar with so much contempt in your eyes. An expression she'd never seen from you. Sure you fought but it never got this bad. You raised your hand, Solar's eyes clenched and she whimpered without anything ever touching her.
Your eyes went wide before you fell to your knees. Apologising profusely, sobbing onto her feet. Solar looked down at you and wrapped her arms around you. The glass bottle long forgotten.
You were broken...so, so broken and she didn't know what to do.
After that night, you stopped drinking for a while. It almost seemed like it was back to normal. But you were much colder and far more distant. It terrified Solar to no end, especially when she couldn't be with you everyday because of preparations for their comeback.
Then, it happened.
Solar opened the door prepared to call out for you when the familiar scent of alcohol wafted around the room. She felt tears in her eyes, without a second thought the idol sprinted into the apartment to see you standing over a bag of your belongings, staring at them blankly.
"N/n..." She called hoping for some familiarity, but in all honesty, she couldn't even recognise you anymore. You weren't the kid she met from across the street, you weren't the teasing teenager with a puppy dog crush on her. You definitely weren't the same person who promised her a future. Tears fell from her eyes.
You didn't look at her. All you could muster was, "This is over, Solar...I don't..." You paused to sling your bag over your shoulder. "I don't love you anymore. I can't." With that you walked into the hallway of your apartment.
No. She couldn't let you go.
"Y/n please! We can talk about this! I promise it'll be alright when you're sober! Please!" Solar begged, rushing to grab your hand. Placing it over her chest. Her eyes pleading while yours, while misty, remained apathetic as you tugged your hand back. "Have some respect for yourself, Solar. It's just sad to look at now." Before long, you were out the door and walking towards the hallway.
All the reasons she wanted you to stay. All the reasons Solar be with you. Every time she reasoned that you were the one for her. All the times she reasoned that you were her forever. All the reasons she gave to love you. Disappeared.
In it's place was a searing rage. One that made her rise to her feet and run to the front door. "I never want to see you again!"
A year passes and she never hears from you again. Her family and the rest of Mamamoo supports her through the hardest year she'd ever had. Then before she realises it, a decade had passed since you left her life for what felt like good. She married a young man who promised her the world, not that it ever held a candle to you, and they have three beautiful children.
The memory of you became so blurred that it were almost like you were a person in another life. And it would have stayed that way until her youngest child's 5th birthday. With the promise of any toy she wanted, the pair entered a grand toy store where the child ran around looking for what she wanted.
Then as Solar raised her eyes from her phone, tracking her daughter from one of the stuffed animals she keeps in her backpack. Her breathe caught in her throat.
Solar's eyes grew to the size of plates when she saw you standing in front of the aisles of a toy store, looking back and forth from a list. Her heart pounded madly against her chest as your warm eyes looked up and met hers. It was like she was in her 20s again, staring at the home she'd lost.
The couple's youngest child clung to her leg suddenly, snapping Solar away from you. She smiled at her child before taking the toy from her hand. Nervously, she looked back up, searching for you and found herself incredibly disappointed when she didn't see you.
"Yong?" Your voice from behind her made her physically jump, making her kid giggle uncontrollably. "You're funny, mommy!"
Your brows shot up at the title as your eyes flickered from both Solar and the young child in front of both of you. You smiled and leaned down to the child's level, holding your hand out. "Hey I'm N/n-unnie!" The child's eyes shimmered brightly, just like Solar's once did.
Your chest tightened at the memory but you fought back the tears. "You know, your mom was my very good friend when we were young." Solar's lips trembled as you spoke to her youngest child. "And she got me through a lot. You be good to her, alright?" Your voice trembled as you placed a gentle hand over her head.
She didn't move or flinch like she usually would around other adults. In fact she smiled and nodded excitedly before running back around the store looking for more toys to ask from her mom. You chuckled before getting back up to meet eyes with Solar's.
It was the surprised expression that always used to warm your stomach. One that you used to lean over and kiss away. For a moment a silence hung over both of you, memories, both good and bad, rushed through both your minds.
"How've you been...?" She asked, the expression on her face turning into a warm and familiar one. You swung from side to side awkwardly, not really knowing what to do with yourself. "I've been good. Got off the alcohol, ten years sober."
Her expression softened and there was a lull in the conversation again. And the regrets and reasons rushed back into the retired idol's mind. She deeply wanted to hug you, feel the warmth of you again. "I...You..." Solar began but you put a hand up, silencing her immediately.
"No need. I'm so sorry for everything that happened between us, Yong...I—" Before you could finish, Solar felt a warm arm wrap around her waist, spinning her around. "Darling, we should get going. Your mom's waiting for us." Her husband reminded gently with a warm smile.
"O-Oh yes! I'll just pay for these. I'll meet you up front." Solar rushed before her husband nodded, leaning down to peck her lips before going around the store to look for the couple's daughter. She quickly turned around to try and talk to you but you'd disappeared.
An unresolved ache returned to her chest as she sulkily made her way to the counter. The brunette looked around the store one more time before sighing and walking to the front of the store where her hyperactive toddler bantered her father excitedly. She smiled and took both their hands before walking to the restaurant where her mother patiently waited.
For you though, it was much different. You didn't get get to go home to a family or kids. You burned that bridge when you left Solar a decade ago. You sat on a metal bench, the sunset in the sky dimming as you took a shaky breath.
"You know you aren't going to be good for her...Look at you..." You said to yourself in the mirror before sinking in the seat behind you. The few months of you getting back onto your feet turned into almost a year of Solar having to support your drunk ass every night.
Kim Yongsun deserved better than you.
The night you walked away from her, spewing all the things you said, all the insults, the lies. You needed the reason to have her let you go. She never would just live a miserable life with you in your state.
"I never want to see you again!" Her words echoing in your ears as you walked away, tears pricking your eyes and your lip trembling uncontrollably. Your heart begged you to run back, hold her in your arms but you knew you couldn't do this to her anymore. You looked back, rethinking your choice before shaking your head.
The moment the elevator doors closed, you yourself fell to your knees. Clinging to the metal bar behind you, sobbing and gasping for air. Mumbling soft, "I'm sorry"s that would never be heard.
'It was for the best.' You reminded yourself before shaking your tears away. You opened your phone, home screen still unchanged. Your fingers interlocked with make-shift rings on your fingers. You opened your settings, clearing the photo from your sight.
You loved Solar far more than you loved anything else. Hell, you still do. But because of it, you could never strip her of the life she had now.
You had a thousand selfish reasons for her to stay, but you only needed one to leave.

flaneur + moonbyul || off the beaten path
flaneur - a person who strolls the city in order to experience it - "deliberately aimless"
(slice of life?, ~1.8k words) - event prompt list
a/n: this is sort of a continuation of the moonsun I wrote back when I hit 100. definitely not necessary to have read it to understand this, but the context might be helpful if you did? who knows.
Byulyi doesn't actually head straight home. She strolls about after taking the train and purposefully getting off a couple stops too early, basking in the moonlight and brisk night air. Yes, her feet ache and prickle with every step from her shift. But she can't seem to make them carry her home. It feels less and less like one with every night she opens the door to her empty apartment, anyway.
She passes a little park, the kind artificially constructed in the middle of urban neighborhoods to give growing children some semblance of normalcy. Encourage them to come outside and touch some grass, or whatever people called it these days. A set of rusting monkey bars with a single swing attached stands atop the sandbox-like enclosure of woodchips. She unconsciously wanders over to the swing and sits in it, backpack still on. Her hands grasp the chains, thumbing over the roughness of individual links as she kicks off with her Air Jordan-clad foot. Some woodchips fly out onto the concrete but she gets herself swinging.
Mindlessly but methodically pumping her legs back and forth like she'd learned to as a child, she can't help but think about the day she just had. Sure, she worked all day. But her mind's fixed on who she worked with— Yongsun.
The corners of Byul’s lips slide upwards at the memory of meeting Yongsun for the first time, a bright and friendly smile breaking out between round cheeks while being tossed an apron, despite Byul's first day being an extremely busy one. Yongsun never let the afternoon rush phase her— she just put her mind to it and worked harder, if anything. Diligence. Nothing ever half-assed, whether by her or anyone else under her supervision.
Byulyi admired Yongsun's drive and passion. And still does. And Yongsun? Hm, what does she appreciate about Byulyi? All Byul can think of are the annoyingly witty jokes she cracks to poke fun and help break up the busy days. Even their manager manages to break into a tight-lipped smile once in a while— accompanied by a huge eyeroll, of course.
Does that mean Byulyi just falls for everyone? No, no. She treats everyone in her life like this, cunningly making jokes out of everything and nothing. She's got a knack for making people laugh and feel at ease. But she knows it's different when Yongsun's around because she gets so touchy. It's not even something Byul noticed she was doing at first— a tap of her fingers on the other's hip to signal her passing behind in their cramped space behind the counter, squishing Yongsun's cheeks with a finger to bother her, and even taking hold of her arm to peer over her shoulder while Yongsun took customer orders for Byulyi to anticipate the drink she’d have to make.
"Hey, why are you so…" she asked while closing up one day, maybe a month into Byulyi starting work.
"Touchy?" Byul interjected with a laugh. "You’re not the first person to ask. Guess I’ve just always been a skinship kind of person. We are friends, right?"
“Yeah, ‘course,” Yongsun replied with a short nod and a suggestion of a smile, returning her attention to intently swiping a rag over the drink-stained tables.
Byulyi stops in her tracks and looks up at the light shining out the glass door onto the pavement. 7-11. Out of all the places she could’ve wandered to, a convenience store? But her stomach growls at the sight of the brightly colored snack shelves, so she pushes a hand into the smooth glass and enters. A digital beep rings throughout the store, signaling her entrance.
The back of your head rests against the clear plastic case that houses all the cigarettes when you hear it. Good timing, because you’re literally about to fall asleep on the job.
Oh shit, a customer.
You stand up from the old bucket you sit on and greet her with whatever meager enthusiasm you can muster at this hour and lean right back into the case. One eye stays open, trained on her movements through the store. Can’t let some girl shoplift because you let your guard down late at night, the manager would have your head.
The next sound you hear is the thock of cardboard on the counter jolting you out of a micro-sleep, banging your head on the front of the cigarette case behind it. A throb of pain radiates through the impacted spot as you stand, rubbing the back of your head and apologizing groggily.
“No worries, long day. I get how it is,” she half smirks. A pack of mint gum also gets tossed on top of the container, which makes itself known as a pack of instant tteokbokki. You don’t usually talk to customers, especially the late-night stragglers. But she’s not some ratty old guy so you figure she wouldn’t attempt to hit on you.
“This brand is really fishy, huh?” Really? That’s the best you could do??
“What? Oh. Yeah, it is.”Your head shakes imperceptibly as you scan her items and process her change accordingly, kicking yourself for saying something so deeply mundane. “Thanks. Where’s the hot water?” she asks calmly.
You quit while you’re ahead and respond wordlessly with a hand wave toward the corner of the store. She nods politely as you sit back down on the bucket, tracking her with your eyes because there’s truly nothing else to do.
Byulyi tears the top open and fills the container with scalding water from the dispenser, careful to not splash any out of the opening. Her elbows rest on the counter as she leans into it, head propped in the palms of her hands. You don’t even realize how strangely pensive she looks, too stuck in the embarrassment of what you’d said earlier. Maybe having her hit on you wouldn’t have been so terrible. At least she’d be the one commiting the faux pas.
Byulyi notices absolutely none of this, mind still swirling with thoughts of Yongsun.
She’d like to think it wasn’t really either of them that initiated or made the first move. They had good chemistry, playful banter, witty rapport… and then one thing led to another, right? Heat radiates through her face at the memory— and it’s not from the hot water boiler. The only thing Yongsun made explicitly clear was that this, whatever the hell it was, had to stay casual.
Byulyi grabs a plastic fork and goes to town on the rice cakes, hissing as she instinctively sucks in a breath to cool the chewy starch.
Casual. Byulyi could do casual, she resolved. At least back then. But several hookups later and she’s found Yongsun taking up real estate in her mind, inch by inch. It doesn’t help that she never wants to talk, either. They fuck after closing and don’t do much else. Or more like Byulyi cums and then Yongsun dashes before the favor gets returned. Yongsun clammed up the one time she let Byulyi take care of her, rushing out even quicker than usual. And of course, it’s not like Byulyi could’ve asked her about it.
She finishes eating and resolves to grab the same package from the shelf, plopping it on the counter much like before.
"So good that you want another?" you joke, mildly surprised that she'd actually want to eat a second one. You could point her to the street vendor just a couple blocks away that sells the real deal for less.
“Nah,” she draws out, relaxed. “Picking up a snack for my roommate, tteokbokki’s her favorite.”
Byulyi bites her tongue as soon as the lie leaves her mouth, a tad concerned how easily it came to mind. But it’s not like you know. So she thumbs through her wallet and hands you a bill, nodding silently that you can keep the change. A tip from one service worker to another, she figures.
The chime signals Byulyi’s exit from the store, door swishing shut behind her. She looks up at the moon again, realizing now that her sight is dotted with a flurry of snowflakes that stand out against the backdrop of the sky. Her nose scrunches at the smell her own breath as it materializes in front of her— that tteokbokki really is fishy. She fiddles with the plastic rim of the tteokbokki lid, the thunk thunk sound stopping dead in the snowy air.
She’s really not far from Yongsun’s apartment. Nothing stopping her from making a tteokbokki delivery, right? It’s not like she needs to knock, the container would survive being left out overnight. Byulyi heads off in a power-walk, wracking her brain for Yongsun’s apartment number.
Upon arrival, Byulyi sets the container down on the doorstep and steps back ready to leave, but realizes there’s nothing to indicate that it’s from her. Not even pen and paper in her bag. Even a sticky note would’ve sufficed.
Maybe she should text? She hesitates for a split second, but then thinks fuck it. Her knuckles rap against the door in a half-balled fist. The sound is strangely decisive and much louder than expected. Her hands nervously fumble and fidget with the plastic lip of the container again as she hears movement from inside. What is Byulyi doing here? Confessing? Trying to return the many past favors?
Yongsun's bleary but annoyed voice comes out of door as it swings open.
"Who the hell— oh." She stops to stare at Byulyi dead in the eyes, sleepiness immediately sucked out of her voice when she lays eyes on the visitor in front of her.
“Can I come in?”
“Do you know what time it is?”
“Why are you still awake?”
“Why are you here?” Yongsun sounds more awake by the second, bleariness fading away from her voice with every word she speaks.
“Can’t I just come in? C’mon, I brought tteokbokki,” Byulyi half-whines with a shake of the container.
Yongsun shivers once in the doorway, the snowy air settling onto her skin the longer the door stays open. She rolls her eyes at Byulyi’s everlasting persistence, but steps behind the door to swing it open with a resigned huff, Yongkeey tucked behind Yongsun’s calves on the verge of yipping in excitement at the visitor.
Byulyi cracks a sheepish smile as she steps in, as if showing her teeth could make up for the intrusion. While Byulyi stands heel-to-toe to slip her feet out of her sneakers, Yongsun lets an excited Yongkeey loose. Yongsun surveys the uninvited visitor in front of her, noting how the snowflakes dotting the younger’s dark puffer jacket sparkle in the yellowed apartment light as she closes the door to the snowy outdoors with a click behind them.
