+ since the drama is about to be over next week (the wait 🥲) there’s things i do have to complain about just a little lol. i wish they already had xiao han find out about he ran... there’s not much time left with just three episodes. i really don’t care about her mother and her relationship with yuan qi... like it’s just unnecessary (i mean maybe it is necessary to help her deal with things but still don’t care for it LOL) and taking up screen time in my opinion 😄 last yes the lack of communication is real but by far not the worst i’ve seen in a drama tbh so i don’t really mind it here. just the fact that he still doesn’t know is the only thing that sucks since we’re already at the end 😪

The Devil's Plan

Sejujurnya tidak ada ekspektasi berlebih saat melihat unggahan seorang rekan yang menampilkan sebuah game variety show yang tersedia di platform ott berwarna merah, sampai akhirnya gue menyaksikan sendiri acara tersebut dan yah, jadinya susah move on.

The Devil’s Plan adalah sebuah permainan survival asal Korea Selatan yang terdiri dari 12 pemain. Kedua belas orang ini tinggal bersama selama seminggu untuk memecahkan permainan yang membutuhkan logika berpikir dan strategi yang tepat. Bidak adalah instrumen penting dalam permainan ini, karena dalam setiap permainan para pemain diharapkan mampu mengumpulkan bidak sebanyak-banyaknya. Jika melakukan kesalahan maka pengurangan bidak pun tidak dapat dihindari. Tak hanya bidak, dalam permainan ini juga ada ‘penjara’ yang diperuntukan bagi pemain yang mempunyai bidak paling sedikit.

Namanya juga permainan, maka akan ada yang kalah dan yang menang. Hadiah maksimal yang akan diterima oleh pemenang adalah 500.000 juta won, jika para pemain mampu menyelesaikan permainan berhadiah. Sedangkan yang kalah akan tereliminasi dan mengemas barang miliknya dari rumah tinggal bersama.

Variety show ini terdiri dari 12 episode, dan untunglah saat gue melihat varshow ini episodenya udah lengkap alias udah selesai, jadi gak perlu penasaran untuk menunggu kelanjutannya setiap minggu. Pada episode pertama, dijelaskan bagaimana aturan main dari the devil’s plan dan dijelaskan secara singkat profile para pemain. Berhubung gue kenalnya hanya Ha Seok Jin, maka sedari awal dukungan gue ada padanya. Namun bukan berarti gue gak mendukung pemain lainnya, hanya saja pemain yang gue dukung tereliminasi dibabak-babak awal, hikss.

Permainan dalam acara ini pada dasarnya tidak hanya diformulasikan untuk mengandalkan kemampuan individu setiap pemainnya, tapi ada masa saat permainan berhadiah, dibutuhkan kerjasama tim dari masing-masing pemain untuk mengamankan hadiah uang tunai agar hadiah maksimalnya tidak berkurang. Cuma yah namanya permainan kan gak mungkin juga semua pemain ‘lemah’ diselamatkan dalam aliansi yang diciptakan oleh salah seorang pemain.

TBH, ketika menonton ini dan ada istilah aliansi gue membatin “lah kok yah kerjasama sih mainnya, buat tim-tim gitu, gak yakin sama kemampuan diri sendiri?” Apalagi ada moment ketika salah satu favorit gue yang ‘dikhianati’ karena si penghianat memberitahukan angka pemain favorit gue ke ‘pemimpin’ aliansi itu. Gedek gue pas nontonnya. Mana si penghianatnya pake nangis segala lagi pas orang-orang yang dia khianati tereliminasi. Gue be like “Ya elahhh, kan lu yang buat mereka gagal, kenapa mesti nangis segala. Drama”

Dari beberapa permainan yang mereka mainkan, gue paling bisa ikutan menjawab pada saat game susun kata dengan tema-tema tertentu. Kata yang mereka temukan lalu disusun secara vertikal. Game menyatukan puzzle sebuah gambar juga gue paham aturan permainannya, cuma pas liat waktu pengerjaannya yang super kilat kayaknya gue juga kalau ada di posisi itu yang ada malah gemetaran dan gak bisa fokus. Lalu ada juga game yang membutuhkan kemampuan hapalan tingkat tinggi dari setiap detail gambar yang ditampilkan. Dalam game ini gue angkat topi untuk penampilan seorang pemain yang menyapu bersih pertanyaannya dan membuat jumlah hadiah bertambah 100 juta atau 50 juta won gitu.

Permainan ‘rendah-tinggi’ yang dibuat berdasarkan persamaan matematika pun gue paham aturan mainnya, cuma pas mereka hitung dan menyusun persamaannya dalam tempo sesingkat-singkatnya gue berpikir “kalau gue yang di sana, pake kalkulator aja biar cepat.”

Tak melulu soal hapalan dan angka, dalam acara ini juga diperlukan strategi yang tepat dan efisien untuk menjadi pemenangnya. Makanya ada yang berpendapat untuk membentuk aliansi saja, padahal bisa jadi aliansi yang diciptakan itu seyogyanya rasa insecure si pencetus biar saingan yang dia anggap berpotensi bisa dia eliminasi lebih dulu dengan bantuan aliansinya tersebut.

Pengamatan yang jeli juga dibutuhkan untuk dapat bertahan sampai babak final dalam permainan ini. Mengamati mana partner yang beneran tulus ingin bekerja sama atau manipulatif semata. Serta memperhatikan tiap benda yang ada disekitar, mana tau ada yang menjadi kunci jawaban untuk permainan selanjutnya.

Overall, gue suka banget sama variety show ini selain 2 days 1 night nya Mas Seon Ho haha.

Kalau di 2 day 1 nights, gue bisa puas ngakak ngeliat tingkah pola ngang-ngong dan polos-polos bego kadang pinter juga sih Seon Ho. Kalau The Devil’s Plan memicu otak gue untuk berpikir dan mencari strategi yang win-win solution ditambah asupan visual yang buat rasa charming gue ke pemuda pintar berkacamata naik berkali-kali lipat, hahaha..

My thoughts on this drama :

I did not dive in with much expectations. I appreciate both main leads a lot, and so I wanted to give it a shot. It's not a total flop nor a big success. There was a lot of backlash on this one due to the age gap between the actors, but people should learn to look past that. They are professionals putting in action designed characters. But that is not the point. The story is pretty light, overall, and there are some nice comedy moment. It is far from being Ji Changwook and Kim Yoojung's best roles. A not so memorable drama with little to no rewatch value.

Honestly ya.  I stick around because of Kim Min Gue.

Ga pernah samsek nonton drama dia. Ga nonton Business Proposal, karenaaaa... the main lead’s chemistry nggak connect buat aku, don’t know why.  

Anyway,  Heavenly Idol ini sebenarnya jalan ceritanya..  crap. Hahaha.  Ringan banget, konfliknya agak superfisial dan supernatural aspek dari dramanya agak gimana gitu. But I like Rembrary & him as Woo Yeon Woo. And dimplenya juga. So cute. And hot. And cute. (Can’t decide)

Female lead, aku juga nggak terlalu familiar. Tapi secara visual, dia cantik banget. Dan lumayan bisa emote sewaktu akting. Chemistry sama main lead juga ada. They make the drama interesting.

Aktor di grup wild animal aktingnya b aja.  Semua.  Supporting yang lain juga setype lah. Malah visually semua sorry to say, kurang ya. Dari grup musik mereka, chemistry ga ada. Konflik diantara merekapun ga menarik.  Yang lumayan interesting malah the devil himself.  Lee Jang Woo bikin penasaran as the devil.  

Masih nggak kebayang endingnya bakal gimana. Apakah Rembrary bakal stay on earth because of love?

This kdrama was just only kinda ‘meh’. It started off not that bad with a decent sorta storyline. Since this was one of those family dramas with a 100 episodes it has several subplots mostly romance storylines for each family member. Unfortunately towards the middle half it starts dragging a lot where it gets tangled up going around in circles a lot. 🤷‍♀️ I really can’t say it’s among my favorites for a family kdrama genre that’s not to say this isn’t watchable, just again a bit of ‘meh’ like.

Wa nggak ngikutin K-Pop Idol sih jadinya wa ga tau idolnya siapa aja. Dulu tertarik sama drama ini karena ada So Ju Yeon. Pertama kali lihat So Ju Yeon pas jadi Yoon Ah Reum di Dr Romantic 2. Karakter Yoon Ah Reum tuh bubbly, sama kayak Shin Sol I.

Taunya, pas baca komentar-komentar di Netfilx, banyak yang udah hopeless sama drama ini karena remake dari China. Tapi, banyak juga fans Kim Yohan yang nunggu. Ternyata Yohan seterkenal itu kayaknya.

Gue tipe orang yang kalo nonton film pasti nyari spoiler buat antisipasi adegan yang terlalu sedih, terlalu serem atau adegan-adegan lain yang ga gue suka buat di skip 😂 Tapi di luar itu semua, gue bakal tetep nonton film ato drama yang gue suka meskipun udah tau endingnya 😂
