I think a lot of people are frustrated sometimes when somebody expresses that therapy just "doesn't work" for them, and I used to feel that way, too, until I realized that the therapy that I was doing just wasn't right for me.

When people think therapy, I think many just assume it's all cognitive behavioural therapy and that that is the only kind of therapy out there. However, this isn't true, and CBT can absolutely be ineffective for certain situations. If you are confused by this idea, here's an example: when I was in the midst of my most recent abusive circumstance, not only was my therapy weaponized against me by my abuser, but also, the therapists I had were ill-prepared to treat ongoing abuse. They had the tools common for CBT, but there is only so much a victim can do before their circumstances are completely out of their control. In a case like this, CBT can be an unhelpful tool alone, which is why you have people who blanket statement say that all therapy is unhelpful (understandable why one would say that if they haven't had any helpful/good experiences).

It seems like people see this idea that "therapy doesn't work" as an automatic red flag, and certainly, I can imagine why one would think that. However, in a healthcare system that generally prioritizes CBT therapy as the "only therapy," it's helpful to remember that CBT isn't always the best option or the best option alone.

I was looking through various trainers PWT-teams, and made an interesting discovery - Crispin shares half of his team with Flannery for some reason and Drayton is somehow even worse in this regard, sharing 2/3 of his team with Lance.

Sure, they have different movesets and items, the battles are in a completely different format, it likely means nothing at the end, but it still stuck into my mind. Like let's imagine for a moment that it does mean something - with Drayton, one could just chug it into him being lazy and copying most of his team from someone he not only idolizes, but has proven that said team works. It could also possibly imply that his Archaludon and Sceptile were some of his first Pokemon, but that's a topic for another time. Crispin honestly has no excuse for copying Flannery though

while a big aspect of my insert getting into this situation in the first place relies heavily on them being isolated before they even Meet william, i think them becoming friends with one of his kids would add some extra Flavor (aside from whatever they've got going on with mikey but i wouldnt call that friendship so much as his misplaced guilt and sense of duty but ya know, semantics kjfds)

i just woke up so idk how coherent this'll even be but last night i practically fell asleep thinking abt the trend of dai being confronted by his youth and feeling out of place for it in one way or another. on one hand he definitely can recognize himself as still young and having lots of space still to grow, so he's more than willing to defer to and obey adults or seek guidance and lesson from them, but at the same time this is a kid with an extremely bizarre and intensely demanding upbringing. daisuke has been raised right at the cusp of death all the time. he's gotten nearly fatal injuries just from his training. within his more intimate circles, he's used to everyone constantly counting on him as 'the only one' instead of setting him aside. his father has been absent essentially up until recently, his mother absolutely adores him but is also the one overbearing him on the family destiny and his 'duty' as a phantom thief, and even his grandfather strictly emphasizes how daisuke, as the sole niwa child, was the only one that could do become dark. there's so much responsibility placed onto him all the time, which, again, lucifer thematic. child-king sized burdens that connect him immediately to dark's decision to betray the hikari and take responsibility for the artworks after the cultural revolution.
