Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns este cel mai nou expansion dezvoltat de către studioul NetherRealm, acesta va fi lansat în 24 septembrie, disponibilă pentru PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch și PC prin intermediul Steam și Epic Games Store. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PF7nFD80g3M Povestea continuă  Khaso Reigns începe fix de unde a fost lăsată povestea principală din Mortal Kombat 1 unde Fire God Liu Kang readuce pacea în noua lume creată de către acesta. Dar se pare că Titan Havik ce aparține unui timeline alternativ sosește în această lume pentru a crea haos. Iar Liu Kang trebuie din nouă să lupte pentru pace alături de echipa acestuia.

Animalities revin după o perioadă lungă în Mortal Kombat Pe lângă brutalitățile și fatalitățile clasice din Mortal Kombat aceștia reintroduc Animalites ce permite personajelor să se transforme în animalul spiritual și își elimină adversarul în cel mai brutal stil.
