What an attractive home! It was built in 1855 in gorgeous Kennebunkport, Maine. It has 6bds., 4ba.,&  2 1/2baths. $4M. 

Gracious entrance hall. The house is a mix of Greek Revival and Gothic architectural styles. What a fabulously detailed ceiling medallion.

Not that it’s part of the house, but look at the owners’ whimsical takes on their  portraits- the backs of their heads. I like the deep green of the shelving. 

The liveliest sitting room I’ve ever seen. Makes a pleasant change of pace.

In the corner of this room they have a banquette for dining or sharing a cup of tea, etc.

Beautiful black & white kitchen. Like the black cabinetry and marbleized backsplash.

Secret door to what looks like the basement stairs.

Guest powder room ties in w/the theme of the sitting room. 

Check out the bar. This is beautiful - the house has color.

Love the dining room so much- the green molding and wallpaper, plus that sky- like ceiling. What a dream house, and what better place for a bar than next to the dining room. Perfect for entertaining.

The bds. are all decorated. These 2 have contrasting wallpaper in the same pattern.

This one has a matching marble en-suite.

The 2.60 acres are park like and stunning. Look at this lily pond.

The back of the home is just as beautiful. The patio is amazing.

Way in the back is the private pool area.

And, this is a pickle ball court.

Day 10 of the BAT

“How the **** did we end up in New Jersey?”

Your Day Ten update is not exciting other than to say it was hilarious at one point. The lede above is a clue.

As promised, we got up and hit the road early because we knew we’d be driving all day. What we didn’t know is there would be rain from almost start to finish. In fact, we’ve been rarely blessed with sunshine on the BAT. It rained for most of the day we visited Devils Tower, except for when we were at the tower, and it was a beautiful Maine spring day in Bath and Portland yesterday. Otherwise, wet. I should have left my cargo shorts at home.

We made no fun stops and got no pictures today due to rain, but we did get touch seven states:

Maine New Hampshire  Massachusetts  Connecticut  New York  New Jersey (???) Pennsylvania 

The New Jersey thing was unexpected because, apparently, we are bad at American geography and had no clue that our GPS was navigating us to and through the Garden State. We did not dally, so we cannot confirm whether or not the natives use all twenty-six letters of the alphabet.

For those who care about such things, we do record the stops and odometer on our trip because one of us is anal about those things (guess who). This is how we know we did 546 miles today and 3,974 miles total.

The gentle symphony of the sea

As the vernal equinox heralds the renaissance of nature, so too does it mark a period of reflection and renewal in the life of Mr. Eric Bozoian, accompanied by his ever-faithful companion, Faren. 🌸

In the waning days of March, our duo ventured to the serene expanse of Plum Island in Massachusetts, a place that rekindled Eric's childhood memories amidst its natural trails and pristine shores. 🌊🥪 There, they indulged in the simple pleasures of a picnic, their repast accompanied by the gentle symphony of the sea. Their exploration then led them to Newburyport, a quaint tapestry of shops and culinary delights, crowned with a festive St. Patrick’s Day ice cream float, a concoction as delightful to the palate as it was to the spirit. 🍦🍀

Further north, the duo found themselves in Maine, entranced by the rumored purple sands of Kennebunk's beaches. True to the tales, the sands, kissed by the alchemy of the ocean and earth, did not disappoint. 🟣🏖️ Eric, ever the collector of nature's marvels, gathered some of this colored sand, a token of the day's wonders.

In the social sphere, Eric navigated the treacherous waters of post-divorce life with a fortitude born of introspection and therapy. 🌊🚶‍♂️ Amidst this journey, he found solace in friendships unmarred by the pressures of alcohol, a refreshing change that has contributed significantly to his well-being and happiness.

March also brought with it a trial of the flesh—a peculiar growth upon his head that, while benign, necessitated surgical intervention. The removal of this unwelcome visitor has brought relief, both physical and psychological. 🏥

But the most significant revelation, a crescendo in the symphony of Eric’s recent life, is his decision to propose to Faren. 💍 Amidst discussions of futures intertwined and homes shared, they’ve laid a foundation of understanding and preparedness, a pact to safeguard their journey ahead. Date yet to be determined ; )

Yet, as he contemplates this new chapter, thoughts of his former life partner linger, like shadows at dusk. 🤝 His therapeutic odyssey has laid bare the painful truths of change, missed signals, and the ephemeral nature of love once thought eternal. He wishes they could still communicate, but fears this time has since passed.

His previous marriage, a tableau of joy and despair, now serves as both a cautionary tale and a wellspring of wisdom. Eric recognizes the delicate balance between the bliss of union and the imperative of self-protection. 💔➡️💪

In his musings, Eric reconciles the dualities of his heart: the desire to love freely and wholly, yet with the sagacity to shield that love from the caprices of fate. He steps into the future not jaded but enlightened, armed with the lessons of yesteryears and the hope of tomorrows yet unfurled. 🌅

Thus, in this journal entry, we capture a snapshot of Eric's ongoing journey—a tale of rediscovery, healing, and cautious optimism. As the days lengthen and the earth awakens, so too does Eric, ready to embrace the spring of his life with eyes wide open and heart unabridged. 📚❤️

I was surprised to find a flock

of warblers working the young

birch clumps out on the Kennebunk

Plains…right out in…along a

seldom used old road that

bisects the plain parallel to Rt. 109.

There had to be a dozen or more

Yellow-rumped Warblers and

twice that of Palms…and Palms

are a warbler I do not often see

here around home…or in Maine

for that matter. And, of course,

a single Common Yellowthroat

working the inner-most foliage

of the bushiest clumps of birch,

staying well out of sight, or

camera line-of-sight at any rate.

I stood and watched them

glean insects from the underside

of the birch leaves for 30 minutes

at least. Trying for photos when-

ever one worked its way out

into the open far enough.

I have, of course, lots of photos

of the leafy clump where a bird

was, and lots of out-of-focus

shots that might have a bird

in there somewhere…but I did

get a few reasonable shots of

both Yellow-rumps and Palms…

both already in their confusing

fall feathers among the turning

foliage of the young birches.
