Dangers of DIY Teeth Aligners
Dangers of DIY Teeth Aligners: The Problems with Mail Order Clear Aligners
If you’re considering buying a DIY teeth aligner kit, you should read this first. In this article, we will examine the risks of using mail order aligners and the problems they can cause.
We will also talk about professional orthodontic treatment and why you should consult with an orthodontist before starting dental treatment.
What Are DIY Teeth Aligners and How Do They Work?
DIY teeth aligners are a type of clear aligner that you can purchase online without consulting an orthodontist. The kits typically come with a set of plastic trays that you need to wear for 20-22 hours per day.
Each tray is for a certain number of days (usually two weeks), after which you move on to the next.
The idea behind DIY teeth aligners is that you can save money by not having to visit an orthodontist. However, there are many risks associated with mail-order aligners, which we will discuss in the next section.
The Dangers of Using DIY Teeth Aligners
There are several risks associated with DIY aligners, the most significant being that you may not achieve the desired results. This is because orthodontic treatment is a complex process that requires careful planning and execution.
An orthodontist will consider your dental anatomy, the severity of your misalignment, and your treatment goals. They will also use special software to map out the movement of your teeth during treatment. This helps ensure that your teeth end up in the correct position at the end of treatment.
Using mail-order aligners is problematic if you have short teeth, a deep bite, or any complex dental issue. It’s unlikely that you can achieve the same results with a DIY teeth aligner as with professional treatment. In fact, you may end up making your dental problems worse.
Another danger of using DIY teeth aligners is that you could damage your teeth. If the plastic trays are too thick or thin, they can put too much pressure on your teeth. This may cause your teeth to crack or break.
In addition, if the aligners do not fit properly, they can rub against your gums and cheeks. This friction can lead to irritation and sores. If you wear aligners for too long, they can also cause your teeth to shift out of place.
The Benefits of Professional Orthodontic Treatment
When you visit an orthodontist for treatment, they will create a custom treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. They will also use high-quality materials and state-of-the-art technology to ensure your treatment is as effective and efficient as possible.
In addition, highly skilled orthodontists like Dr. Yazji have years of training and experience treating patients with dental misalignments. This means that they can identify and correct any problems that may arise during treatment.
Finally, when you choose professional orthodontic treatment, your treatment is safe and effective.
If you have any questions or concerns about your treatment, you can always reach out to Dr. Yazji’s office. They will answer any of your questions and ensure that you are on track to achieving a beautiful, healthy smile.

Fix Your Teeth In Miami
5 Reasons To Get Traditional Braces |Fix Your Teeth In Miami
Our teeth are one of the most noticeable parts of our body. Everyone wants that Hollywood grin and the flawless selfie-ready smile, but most of us aren’t born that way. It’s common to require orthodontic treatment to achieve a straight smile. If you want to fix your teeth in Miami and show off straight pearly whites, keep reading this article.
Braces are one way by which imperfections of the teeth such as gaps can be corrected. This method has been around long enough to be trusted. That’s why we’ll focus on how to fix your teeth in Miami with traditional braces. In addition, we’ll discuss the reasons why you should go for this type of braces.
Traditional braces are a type of braces that are placed on the teeth using an adhesive that is connected by wire and contains regular metal brackets.
Having this type of braces on requires you to go to your orthodontist periodically. Your orthodontist will adjust your brackets to help keep pressure on the teeth to allow gradual straightening and jaw alignment.
Five reasons you should choose traditional braces.    1. Braces can be for everyone Usually, most people with orthodontic problems qualify to get braces. Unlike Invisalign®, you don’t have to be a candidate to get treatment. However, if you’re still interested in Invisalign® treatment, an experienced orthodontist with the Invisalign® system like Dr. Maria Yazji, who’s a Diamond Invisalign® provider in the United States, can help you fix your teeth in Miami with Invisalign® aligners.
There are various types of braces to choose from, but traditional braces are a type recommended to be effective and trustworthy in solving multiple problems with your teeth.
   2. They are compatible with any age Traditional braces are suitable for all ages. Unlike some other types of braces such as Invisalign®, traditional braces allow beginning the early correction of the issue with your teeth as an adult or even as a little kid.
This means that you don't have to wait to get to your teenage or adulthood stage to be able to use braces. The major advantage of this is that; at childhood, the teeth are still developing and getting your teeth in the correct position can be easier.
   3. It's impossible to remove them by yourself Only an orthodontist should remove your braces at the end of your orthodontic treatment. Unlike Invisalign® aligners, you can’t remove them for eating and brushing.
Traditional braces don’t require as much treatment compliance as Invisalign® treatment. But you’ll still need to follow your orthodontist’s instructions if you want to finish your treatment as planned. If you don’t follow your orthodontist’s recommendations, your treatment could last longer. This means wearing your elastic bands, coming in for your orthodontic checkups, keeping your oral hygiene on point, taking care of what you eat, and more.      4. They are relatively affordable Orthodontic treatments are usually not the cheapest thing out there. However, getting traditional braces to fix your teeth in Miami is relatively more affordable compared to other types of braces.
If you are looking for that perfect smile but don’t mind having metal braces, then this orthodontic treatment can be right for you.    5. Braces have corrected countless smiles for decades Getting orthodontic treatment should be done in a well-established orthodontic practice, and by an experienced orthodontist.

3d Orthodontics In Miami
Dental technology has been increasingly improving over the past decades for better and efficient patient care. Over the past decade, 3D technologies have also been admired in other manufacturing industries such as bioengineering, healthcare, aeronautics, etc.
Improvement in dentistry has changed and improved dental clinical practice to a whole new paradigm. The modern dentistry world is now focusing on and incorporating more 3D technologies into dental treatments to provide efficient dental services. Dr. Yazji Contemporary Orthodontics uses 3D technologies such as iTero Intraoral Scanner and iCat cone beam 3D imaging system. Dr. Yazji offers 3D orthodontics in Miami, Weston, and Downtown Brickell in Florida.
- iTero Intraoral Scanner also known as iTero Scanner is a modern imaging system, which creates a 3D image of the teeth and displays it on a screen. The scanning of the teeth is projected on a screen with high resolution and accuracy. This imaging system takes 6000 images per second and outlines an expected result of the straighten teeth digitally before even the start of the orthodontic treatment. This imaging system is highly comfortable and pain-free as compared to the traditional impression taking system that uses impression putty which is often uncomfortable and produces gagging in patients. Orthodontic patients can see their smile will look like with our iTero scanner in 30 minutes or less. - iCat, on the other hand, is another modern imaging system, but it is used for radio graphic purposes. iCat uses cone beam technology to produce a 3D radio graphic of the mouth, head, and neck. These 3D radiographs are widely used in orthodontics and maxillofacial surgeries.
Dr. Yazji offers 3D orthodontics in Miami, Weston, and Downtown Brickell in Florida. Dr. Maria Yazji highly uses these modern imaging systems for assessments of the oral cavity of orthodontic patients. It assists in treatment planning and patient education, as most patient love to learn about their oral cavity through visuals. Also, incorporating such technologies in treatment planning saves precious time of the patients and dental professionals as compared to the traditional oral assessment methods.
In the real-world patients usually opt for fewer appointments with express dental services hence these technologies come in handy in providing the services with less human error and assessment time as compared to conventional methods. Wearing Braces at School
I still remember when I got my braces for the first time. It was the summer of 1988, and I was nervous and didn’t want anyone to see my metal smile. I wondered what my smile would look like at the end of my orthodontic treatment and what my face would turn into after braces. Back in those days, you couldn’t see a simulation of your smile transformation.
I went to the orthodontist with lots of fear, anxiety, and stress. It was the time when counseling for kids was considered not significant. In fact, my parents weren't sure what the treatment would involve like not being able to eat my normal diet. But they had this wish to make my smile perfect, just like other kids’.
At school it was annoying to get bullied for my crooked teeth. The other students would call me names and laugh at me. People who did not say anything but noticedmy crooked smile, had that expression on their face I’ll never forget.
My mother was the one who supported me in this and took me to see an orthodontist in Miami, Florida. Astounded by the orthodontist office, I stared at the state-of-the-art dental equipment Dr. Yazji had in her dental office in Miami. Mymom was there patting my shoulder every five minutes, reassuring I would get the smile I deserve with the help of this orthodontist in Miami.
I was welcomed by the front desk receptionist and escorted by an orthodontist assistant to get a panoramic x-ray and pictures taken. Then the treatment coordinator called my name and gave a tour of the office. In her office, we discussed my orthodontic needs. Finally, the orthodontist came in the consult room and started talking about my case. The orthodontist explained that in order to get my teeth positioned correctly, I would needto have my wisdom teeth removed. So, I went to the dentist for that dental procedure. After that, I made another appointment with my orthodontist in Miami to get my braces on. When I went back to school wearing braces, I felt happy that soon I would be able to show my pearly-white straight teeth and smile with confidence.
The reason I am sharing all this is because now I am also a mother of two. I am concerned about my kids, too, like my own mother.
When my eldest one started developing her teeth, I already knew she would need some sort of orthodontic treatment. Unfortunately, she would constantly suck her thumb and that habit caused her palate to narrow and get deeper than normal.
I started searching for the best solutions for my girl's teeth, I couldn’t wait till she was a teenager, she needed to get started with orthodontic treatment as soon as possible. Luckily, my orthodontist also treated kids, so I made an appointment with Dr. Maria Yazji, my orthodontist in Miami, to get an evaluation. Dr. Yazji told me that the best time for treatment is when an orthodontic problem arises, but as a general rule, age 7 is an ideal time to get an evaluation.
Some dental problems can be hard to spot. You should consult with an orthodontist if you notice the following:
·         Crowded, misplaced or blocked-out teeth.
·         Thumb-sucking
·         Jaws that are too far forward or back
·         Breathing constantly through the mouth
·         Difficulty in chewing or biting
·         An unbalanced facial appearance
I made the decision that my girl would not go through the same I difficulties I had to face while at school, like kids calling me names because of my crooked teeth. So, she started early orthodontic treatment with Dr. Maria Yazji in Miami, Florida.
After phase one, my child is finally ready to get Invisalign® teen treatment by Dr. Maria Yazji in Miami. I’m so happy with her progress and the way she adapted to the treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Yazji and her staff to anyone looking for orthodontic treatment, she’s very throughout and explains the whole procedure during the first complimentary appointment. They make you feel like at home, they’re truly nice dental professionals.
To book a free appointment with my orthodontist in Miami, you can simply go to her website and request a consultation for one of her offices. She has offices in Broward County and Miami-Dade County: Weston, downtown Brickell, and West Miami. It was a pleasure to meet Dr. Yazji, and she answered all my queries and concerns about my child’s orthodontic needs.
I was surprised to learn she could treat my child with Invisalign® clear aligners. This was a plus since my daughter didn’t like the idea of having a metal smile. As a pre-teenager, she preferred Invisalign® clear aligners towards regular metal braces. I didn’t have that choice when I was at a school. I had to wear traditional silver braces.
If you want to improve your kids’teeth alignmentwith regular metal braces or Invisalign®treatment, book a complimentary consultation here.
