If Jackie had an "It's a Wonderful Life" episode, a worst-case scenario nightmare. Circa 1988.
Jackie: Has actually married Fez. Eww. They're miserable.
Hyde: Left to be in a motorcycle gang. He comes back occasionally, and they have sex. She had to put something nice in there, okay?
Eric and Donna: They're still together. They live in that trailer Donna bought, to scare him off, but he's still there. They have a son, Luke.
Kelso: Has gone back to Laurie, and he's a fat alcoholic. They have three kids together. Two are stupid, Amber and Mikey, and the third, Ryan, is an Eric. Which is only a little bit better.
Fez: Is still deep in the closet, and he's still a massive creep.

What Red imagined the '90s would look like!
I think he's happier with how they turned out in That '90s Show...even if he hasn't gotten his jetpack yet 😂

I found Betsy to be super unlikeable. Not only did she give off Laurie vibes, but she reminded me of Caroline
Spoilery answer.
Unfortunately, I found her entirely unlikeable and charmless. Despite Laurie's many faults, she has layers. Granted, she's also got a lot more development. But even in "That '70s Pilot" (1x01), her character has aspects that draw in a viewer. I think that's due to a combination of LRK's own charisma and better writing (this is not me saying T7S had consistently good writing; I've critiqued it for over fourteen years 😅).
I don't recognize any Caroline in T9S!Betsy, though. Caroline has a sweetness to her and a vulnerability that turns into a pathological obsession with Fez. Even when she's at her scariest, the vulnerability remains. She's mentally ill (not originally, but the writers made her character take that turn for "laughs" and to end the relationship).
T9S!Betsy, on the other hand, is depicted as having a deep resentment of Jay. She's manipulative and selfish, and -- I repeat -- Brooke never would have raised such a person.

Just started season two and I'm sooooo normal about Jackie and Hyde (I screamed and kicked my feet the whole intro I love them)
(not Fez and Donna, I couldn't enlarge the image any further because it looked all pixelated lol)

UGH JUST LOOK AT THEMMMMMMM
Tumblr media
Gosh I can't wait for them to be together.
Oh, and thoughts about the episode: Laurie you're a slut and I hate you, Michael you're also a slut and I also fucking hate you even more. You're a hypocritical piece of shit and I hope you fall off the water tower again.

About my Laurie post, I did make some replies that didn’t exactly come off well.
I don’t condone Laurie forcing herself on Kelso at all. He said “no” several times and she should’ve left it at that. I don’t want to come off as if I condone sexual assault, which I don’t. But it’s irritating that Kelso gets to stay in the gang and be all buddy-buddy and sympathized with because of his “good” traits but Laurie is this “evil bitch”.
Kelso would pressure Jackie into sex (Jackie would literally say that she’d give in just to “shut him up”), grope Donna, cheat on Jackie several times, and is just an overall entitled asshole. But he’s allowed to be sympathetic and have his “good” traits be expressed in a way Laurie didn’t. He was allowed to have a growth arc in s6-7 but Laurie’s in s5 had to be cut short. The gang would be fine having Kelso and Fez around and the writers would try to give them qualities to make them “likable” and “sympathetic”.
With Laurie, once again, what she did to Kelso was gross and she literally forced herself on him in early season 2. That should be ragged on. But she doesn’t deserve to have all the other characters on the show call her a “whore” and a “slut” for having an active sex life. But taking out that disgusting scene with Kelso, what exactly about her is so irredeemable and makes her a villain? She makes a few snarky remarks? You know who also does that? Jackie fucking Burkhart, a protagonist. She schemes quite a bit and is very cruel? Once again, Jackie Burkhart, does the same thing.

In my head canon, Jackie and Laurie eventually become real friends because they both are oddly similar in SOME ways.
Maybe in the future, whenever I find the will and creative mindset to finish all of my fics, I’d like to write one where Laurie comes clean to Jackie about Kelso, because despite being “whore-y Laurie”, she grows quite fond of Jackie and sees herself in her when she was young and innocent.
Jackie is of course angry at first, but Laurie tries to make Jackie come to her senses about how much of a dog Kelso really is and how much better she can do. She knows Kelso won’t stop at just Laurie, he’ll sleep with any girl who is willing. So Jackie listens and dumps Kelso for good. Which would maybe help in the Jackie/Hyde relationship later on where Hyde isn’t as insecure about Kelso.
Think of it as a pseudo big sister/little sister thing between them, where Laurie removes Jackie’s rose colored glasses and Jackie softens Laurie a bit.

I did notice Laurie wasn't at all interested in Kelso at first, (I still do not find her sophisticated in season 1, but that could be just me) but what do you think is the in-universe explanation for wanting to come on to him in A New Hope? I always thought it was because he didn't want her anymore and that made him more appealing combined with the fact that he was willing to cheat on Jackie with her, which flattered her and raised her self-esteem (I think that's why she goes for taken guys in general)
Laurie goes after Kelso the week (or two weeks) after he and Jackie reconcile at Prom (i.e. in the episode that follows the reconciliation). Manipulating him is a total power move (and character shift for Laurie into her antagonist role).
In "Red's Last Day" (2x02), Laurie goes after Kelso again because she claims she's bored. But she rapes him (despite that it's played for laughs 😬) -- another total power move. Her interest in Kelso while he's with Jackie is that power and control.
When Kelso decides to take his power back and break off his affair with Laurie, Laurie spots Jackie on the Formans' patio. In a final act of manipulation and, yes, power she asks for one last kiss. He agrees to it, leading him to losing Jackie. Laurie punishes Kelso for reasserting control over his life.
She is an abuser, malicious, and sadistic. She gets off on hurting people, and that is her greatest flaw. The slut-shaming distracts completely from that fact (bad, misogynistic writing). Sex is her weapon (or method) to get the power and control she craves.
