Sure! Most of these games are from Japan so I’m not sure if that’s your thing... Some of them seem to exist in fantasy worlds, but then there’s some that are just straight up real world soap opera-y stuff.

The one I’m playing right now, Midnight Cinderella, is currently doing a Newbie Bonus feature ‘til July 12th. Log in for seven days and you get a bunch of cute stuff, such as items to dress up your in-game avatar; you get tons of resource items to restore stamina and tickets, and new little things to dress up your avatar. It might seem totally overwhelming at first, but you’ll get the hang of it quickly. It also has a cute little in-game minigame where you get to design your palace garden. If you’re lucky enough when you play the gacha (think of it like a dice roll game of chance), you can even get a little avatar of your romance choice to put in the garden with you. ;-; I got super lucky and got mine, so now he’s chillin’ in the garden with me.

This game, much like Ikemen Sengoku [another one I recommend, though I sorta fell off with it] is one of the flashier, fancier, much more involved otome games I’ve seen. It also doesn’t feel like too transparent of a cash grab. You can buy things if you want, but they give you so much just for logging in daily or poking around that I don’t see the need for it. Honestly for the time required to get through it, MC and Ikemen Sengoku (they’re made by the same people) are probably some of the better ones to choose from.

Writing-wise, I really like how they write the main character! She’s assertive and speaks her mind, she has a good heart and is determined/no nonsense. IS runs a little more into the territory of pushy love interests, which might not be everyone’s thing (it wasn’t for me lol but there’s so many to choose from in that game that there will be someone for everyone). So far everyone in MC runs that trope-y romance gamut, but MC was recommended as a romance game with love interests who respect you.

Ikemen Sengoku is a kind of absurdly endearing over the top time-travel romance where you head back to a... very melodramatic version of Sengoku era Japan and you can choose which warlord you wanna smooch. Me being me, I chose the scariest motherfucker of them all, and I’m kinda glad I did. That guy still haunts me (in a good way!!) to this day.

There’s also an IKEMEN VAMPIRE GAME WHICH I AM TOTALLY GETTING but sadly most vampire romance games are a bit eh and icky. Will let you know how this one goes.

There’s Mystic Messenger which has probably one of the better romance game gimmicks that I’ve seen. You basically get pulled into a groupchat between friends/acquaintances, and there’s set chats that happen at all hours of the day. Characters can call you to talk (the voice acting in this game is so good!), or send you private messages. You start with three basic routes first, and completing one of them then lets you unlock the second tier of routes (which has my favorite romance in it). Honestly this is one of the rare romance sims I played multiple times because I really liked each of the choices. They’re funny, charming, realistic, interesting, and the story was just so absurd.

Last two event routes are out! …Can I be honest here? I don’t like this event…😰😭 I was waiting for a nice Halloween costume and the achievement bonus is just…nah…I don’t know…😭 And the choices A, B or C…how am I supposed to know what to choose? I’ve wasted lots of points… No no…please don’t do this kind of events again… Btw...Keita has just called me a coward? What? 😳😓
