I feel like people pass by the realization that Brant wasn’t as crazy as he deemed himself too quickly. You do realize that the ENTIRE TIME (after Jolie died) he’s been pretending to be insane. For 16 years he’s been pretending to be crazy. Grady and Edaline have taken care of him for 16 YEARS. They have watched over him because that was who their daughter truly loved. Someone their daughter WAS going to marry. Someone (to them) shattered into sanity because of losing the love of his love (their child). Someone who loves their daughter just as much as they did to understand the PAIN of her loss. Just to find out for 16 years he had been the reason she was dead. 16 years of taking care of their daughters MURDERER. That information has to be haunting.

headcanon that the reason sophie still has eyelashes to pull on the regular is that grady and edaline worked something out with the dizznees to get a tasteless formula to help eyelash growth specifically to put drops of in her bottles of youth. because there’s no way her ptsd-induced trichotillomania (oversimplified definition for those who aren’t familiar: hair pulling disorder) is gonna die down during the war, so they’re trying to make sure she doesn’t move from eyelashes to eyebrows or her Hair hair by giving her More Eyelashes

so I agree that Sophie kissing Keefe is probably one of the cheesiest things Shannon has written (not that that makes it inherently bad)

I actually think I like Sophie's second kiss with Keefe way more, where she gives him a little peck to reassure him he won't mess up in their relationship

she just gives him this casual sweet kiss to make him feel better

Oh wait people.

I just realized. When I was in like… 8th grade, I read a fantasy series called Tara Duncan and at one point, they had to go back to human world, saw the books, and they talked about the author, saying they had tried to make her forget about the fantasy world and everything but it didn’t seem to work so they had to pass a sort of treaty with her that she’d never say it is real, only ever pass it as fiction.

What if it happens with Keefe? Like that would be so funny! That Shannon actually knows about the Elves, that she exists… Maybe Keefe even meets her!!
