Amid the expansion of Kazakhstan's railway network, the national company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy has announced plans to procure significant volumes of materials for construction. As part of these plans, the company will acquire approximately 150,000 tons of rails and more than 2 million reinforced concrete sleepers with fastenings. This move is aimed at supporting three large-scale railway infrastructure development projects launched in the country. The main suppliers will be domestic enterprises, which will support Kazakhstan’s economy and industry. This approach also helps reduce dependence on external markets and strengthens the country's position on the international stage. The first project involves the construction of second tracks on the strategically important Dostyk – Moyynty route, with a total length of 836 kilometers. This route is especially significant for transit transport and connects Kazakhstan to international transport corridors. The second project envisions a bypass of the Almaty railway station with branches, spanning 123 kilometers. This is an important initiative to relieve one of Kazakhstan’s key stations, improving logistics and reducing cargo delivery times. The third project, Darbaza – Uzbekistan Border, was previously known as Darbaza – Maktaaral. Initially, its length was planned at 106 kilometers but was later increased to 152 kilometers. The implementation of this project will strengthen transport links with Uzbekistan and increase capacity in the southern direction. All three projects aim to improve transport accessibility in the regions, develop international transit, and enhance the efficiency of railway transportation. The construction of these railway lines will be a crucial step in modernizing the country's infrastructure and ensuring its long-term competitiveness in the global market. Thus, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy continues to actively develop the railway network, focusing on modern technologies and local production.
