The Parrots, The Goon Sax, The Gooch Palms y Vulk cierran el segundo GetMAD!

A poco más de 6 semanas para la apertura de puertas de GetMAD! festival (26 y 27 de mayo, salas BUT, Changó Live, Maravillas y Taboó), el festival capitalino cierra el cartel de su segunda edición.

Jägermusic presenta: The Parrots y Vulk

The Parrots, abanderados de la nueva división de garage-rock nacional y con una gran proyección fuera de nuestra fronteras, se disponen a jugar esta vez en casa junto a los bilbaínos Vulk, ambos presentados por Jägermusic.

The Parrots llevan ya unos cuantos meses presentando su primer largo ‘Los Niños Sin Miedo’ producido por el mismísimo Paco Loco (Heavenly Recordings, 2016), y también llevan unos cuantos años tocando en medio mundo a través de hiperactivas giras a lo largo y ancho países como Estados Unidos, México, Costa Rica o Inglaterra donde su séquito es cada vez mayor y más ruidoso. Gamberrismo, juventud y ‘rock n´roll’ son los ingredientes básicos de este último trabajo que, a pesar de los principios que lo sustentan, les otorga el grado de madurez musical siendo uno de los representantes más efusivos de la nueva ola del garage nacional.

Los bilbaínos Vulk, tras publicar un par de EPs, se han liado la manta a la cabeza con su primer LP ‘Beat Kamerlanden’, grabado a caballo en Monreal Estudios por Hans Kruger (Perro, Delorean, Baywaves), estudios Pan-Pot (Romo) por Alberto Macias y en Ibero Sound Machine por Pablo Garcia.’Beat Kamerlanden’ es un disco en el que Vulk hacen de su sonido un arma blanca a través de ocho cortes que entremezclan percusiones rotundas, instrumentales que confunden efectos ilegibles y unas voces duras e inmediatas y que viajan entre influencias tan coherentes y notorias como Joy Division, David Bowie o Wire, a bandas del espectro nacional inmediato como FAVX, Serpiente, Luma II o Tercer Sol.

The Goon Sax son un trío australiano originario de Brisbane cuya primera semilla data de 2013, cuando Louis Forster (hijo de Robert Forster, de The Go-Betweens) y James Harrison empiezan a grabar a dúo en plan casero en sus años de instituto. A principios de 2014 se les unió Riley Jones, tras solo un mes de clases de batería. Con esos cimientos se lanzaron sin red y sin miedo a facturar pop de gusto refinado, con canciones que funcionan como psicodramas adolescentes, llenas de encanto inmediato. “Elocuentes, prematuramente adultos, cansados del mundo pero nunca cínicos. Cada canción es una gema", escribió The Guardian.

El irreverente a la par que encantador dúo australiano The Gooch Palms se pronuncia como una de las propuestas del pack gonzo-pop-punk que se encuentra este año en las filas del festival. Programados para el viernes 26 de mayo, Leroy y Kat vuelven a Madrid tras formar parte de en la programación del ciclo de conciertos anual que ofrecen GetMAD! y Estrella Damm (patrocinador principal del festival) en varias salas de Madrid y en el que compartieron cartel con L.A Witch el pasado mes de diciembre. Una cita en la que aprovecharon para presentar su álbum ‘Introverted Extroverts’, su segundo larga duración grabado en Michigan por Bill Skibbe (The Kills, Jacuzzi Boys, Protomartyr) y autoeditado bajo su sello Summer Camp Records y que vio la luz el pasado verano.
