I love the legendary birds in swsh so much. The pokedex info be like:
Kantonian Articuno: A bird with the power to create blizzards rarely seen in the mountains
Galarian Arcticuno: This pokemon doxxes people for fun and called you a slur
Kantonian Moltres: This magnificent bird sometimes appears before lost travelers
Galarian Moltres: Over 80% of work related suicides can be attributed to the effect Galarian Moltres has on people
Zapdos: This bird appears in raging thunderstorms
Galarian Zapdos: Wanted for over thirty counts of destruction of property. Commits coyote and roadrunner type hijinks for fun

Soooo........ I've ended up staying up late, typing a Borderlands/Pokemon au and it was going to be something small but it ended up being a lot more long..........
Unlike the last few, this au is basically the Borderlands characters in the actual pokemon universe (no vaults, no eridian's ECT) and I've since changed a few teams because I wasn't satisfied with the previous choices.
(I've put it under the cut so it wouldn't come out long)

Attached is a mysterious video.
In it, Neo can be seen, standing beneath the Dyna Tree.
A loud, avian screech can be heard, along with the rush of wind.
Neo and the Camera both turn, and something can be seen in the sky. It appears to be an Articuno, circling the tree.
It swoops downward, and as it gets closer, something seems off.
It charges straight at her.
Scratch that, actually. It charges through her, shattering her body like glass, and slamming straight into the tree.
It takes a few moments to get up, and in those moments, it can be seen why it was odd. It appears to be a Galarian Articuno, but with the colours of a Kantonian one.
It looks very annoyed.
The video grows staticky, and cuts out.

What kind of books do you have at this library? Actually to be specific, what kinds of mythological records/stories do you have? Anything from out of region? -Hilda
(@a-champion-of-stars)
Books? Well, we have a bit of everything... but myth-wise, we mostly have Alolan records. We've got a lot of interesting history thanks to it being UB Central, after all!
Otherwise... well, we get Kantonian records a lot. We actually have some old scrolls documenting the movements of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres that are really interesting! They're in Special Collections, so you'd need to arrange a special visit for them, though.
In more easily accessible records, we've also got some legends about Arcanine, riding on the winds and rescuing Pokémon as they go... you can see why it was called "Legendary" from how many books there are!

Did You Know
That the Galarian birds are based on the Morrigan. A trio of(or just one) goddesse(s) of war, fate and death.
Moltres- Badb who's known for taking the form of a crow(hence the black color). She strikes fear and confusion in battle, and foreshadows death prior to battle(could explain Moltres aura wearing down people's spirit). She's also compared to banshees cause of her wail she does when announcing a notable person's death(why it's cackling in the art)
Zapdos- Macha is a sovereignty goddess(meaning she's associated with a location) and represents war and stuff like land, fertility, and horses(hence why Zapdos is now a fighting type running bird, with a competitive nature). She's also described as Raven of the raids in some myths were she's Nemed's wife. In some legends her full name is Macha Mong Ruad, which means red hair(possibly why Zapdos is now orange
Articuno- Nemain is the goddess of the frenzied havoc of war. In one epic Tain Bo Cuailnge Nemain gathered armies to attack them(could explain why it uses it's psychic powers to freeze opponents before attacking, and it's callous nature). Nemain also shares a lot of similarities with Badb(harbingers of doom, same husband). This could explain Articuno psychic type as it references Badb ability to fortell death and confuse opponents.
The Morrigan was also said to be one war goddess with the ability to transform into animals to aid in battle(most notable one being a crow), and represents goddesses role as guardians of land(also probably why they migrate to and fight over the Dynamax tree)
In fact the mysterious nature on if the Galarian birds are regional variants or not could be based on the Morrigan's many myth with contradicting details as stated, but not limited to: Nemain not being the concrete third goddess(some sources say it's a goddess named Anand or Fea), or Macha's many husbands
But the possible reason why their regional variants believed to not actually be regional forms could be because the Morrigan are also named as sisters of a trio of land goddesses under different names being: Eriu, Banba, and Fodla. Despite both being trio of goddesses their connections state their separate
This also explains their typings, as the Kantonian birds are contextualized as the land goddesses given their elemental types. Whereas the Galarian birds types represents (the) Morrigan('s) behaviors in battle. With them being flying type birds symbolizing their connections/similarities despite being recognized as different groups
Also if anyone wants to know the pronunciation of the goddesses names from what I gathered it's Bive, Mock-Ah, Ney-Von

Pokemon Teams: Amulet series characters
Notes:
I have a headcanon that if they lived in the Pokemon universe, Emily and Navin would be from Kalos.
Normally, I don't include Legendary or Mythical Pokemon on character teams, but Galarian Moltres just fits Emily too well. Same goes for Trellis and Kantonian Articuno.
Silas gets a Magearna because he worked with machines, and would have loved a mechanical Pokemon.
Almost all Stonekeepers can use Mega Evolution, Gigantamax, Z-moves, or Terastalization.
Alyson is from the Unova region, and Unfezant is her starter.
Some of Emily's other Pokemon (not shown)
Armarouge
Gouging Fire
Ninetales (Kanto form)
Musharna
Hatterene
Flareon
Some of Navin's other Pokemon (not shown)
Kilowattrel
Cyclizar
Iron Moth
Corviknight (shiny)
Porygon2

oh!! do you know anythin interestin about the legendary birds?? :0
Hello, Ray~
Assuming you're talking about the Kantonian birds, Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno, then of course I know "something interesting".
Articuno is a Flying and Ice type, known as the Freeze Pokemon. The flapping of this Legendary Pokemon's wings is said to freeze moisture in the air, thus being able to make it snow or even blizzard in some cases.
According to those who have allegedly seen Articuno, it's wings seem to be translucent, giving them the appearance of ice. Whether or not they're actually made of ice is unknown.
A rather benevolent Pokemon, Articuno is said to appear to those who have been stranded in icy mountains and rescue them. However, it's power should not be underestimated, as Articuno is one of a handful of Pokemon that can learn and successfully use the move "Sheer Cold". This move can be extremely harmful and even deadly to humans and Pokemon.
Zapdos is a Flying and Electric type, known as the Electric Pokemon. As it flies, the sounds of crackling and snapping can be heard, mimicking the sounds of electricity and thunderstorms.
Said to reside inside thunderclouds, or more accurately "Cumulonimbus" clouds, Zapdos can freely control lighting bolts. It will also grow in power if hit by lightning bolts during a thunderstorm. Those who have seen this Legendary Bird, have reported seeing it appear when a thundercloud parts in two.
Moltres is a Flying and Fire type, known as the Flame Pokemon. Whilst flying, it's wings will scatter embers wherever it goes. While it is a pretty sight, one should be extremely careful if ever in the presence of this Pokemon.
The feathers of Moltres' wings quite literally burn in an eternal and dazzling blaze. It's said that it can even turn the night sky red with how brightly it burns.
In order to heal itself from injury, Moltres can dip itself into molten lava in order to heal itself... Rather fascinating, I must say~
All together, these three birds are said to represent, Winter, Summer, and Spring respectively. In Kanto, spotting Articuno, Zapdos, or Moltres is a sign of great luck, especially if you manage to collect one of their fallen feathers.
I hope this suffices as interesting to you~

Have you ever met a Legendary?
Helped a kid get a handle on their Articuno, a Kantonian one, at one point. Told me he’d gotten stranded on a mountain and the bird picked him up and dropped him near a cave… Right ‘fore it took a Rollout from an uphill Graveler. They both stayed in that cave a long while, I gather.
Articuno has a tendency to whip up ridiculously cold wind as it flies. A good way to make sure nothin’ will surprise it, I guess. We had to teach it that ain’t the case with its trainer nearby. We did so just by havin’ it fly through hoops and giving it a treat every time it returned to the start without freezing anything. We also made sure it recognizes standard battle courts as a place where it is okay to freeze things. Aside from that, all the same training Bird Keepers use worked just fine with it.
One of the locals also flies their Zapdos right over the ranch sometimes these past couple months. Scares the daylights out of the herds. Got half a mind to get Piezo up there to make a statement one of these days.
The experience taught me that some “legendary” pokemon are really only distinguished by rarity, power and local culture. We should respect ‘em as living creatures first and foremost, and remember that they have instincts and habits the same as any Pokemon.

Merry Chrimbo!
I have not only a team but two pokemon for you!
Letty Whiterock!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Froslass is just kinda the same being as her. She's a fellow frozen ghost.
Glalie is just an Ice Monster I think she'd vibe with, as is Cryogonal.
Articuno is notable for being this big, elegant Ice Bird, and I just think Letty would ABSOLUTALLY have one.
Abomasnow is just another ice monster she's vibe with, but it's ability makes it even better for her (I didn't do the other two Snow Warning mons because I like the clashing aesthetics of this elegant, motherly looking ice ghost having the big scary snow monster).
So I ship Letty with Shizuha. So I imagine Shizuha gave Letty this beautiful symbol of her (Shizuha's) work to make up for the fact that they realistically go long periods without actually seeing eachother.
Now the fakemon!
Snome
The Snowball Pokemon
A Pure Ice Type
Dex Entry: Snome are a common sight during the winter months in the Gensokai region. These friendly creatures like to play games with the youth of the region. Namely, they let kids throw them around. It is unknow where or how Snome's aquire their hats, but people have elected to not question it too much.
Abilities: Ice Body
Hidden Ability: Refridgerate
I just wanted to make a cute little snowman family. This is the base stage. They're also gnomes. So yeah. Gotta love a cute ice type!
Purrloin (Gensokian Form)
The Black Cat Pokemon
A pure Fire Type
Dex Entry: A species of cat Pokemon formerly found only in the caverns of the region. It is unknown why they largely left the underground. Due to their kleptomaniac tendencies, Purrloin are heavily disliked by much of the region. I likely doesn't help that they tend to cause house fires with their tails if kept as pets. Notably, Purrloin are popular with very specific types of trainer due to their ability to expertly track down Ghost pokemon.
Abilities: Flash Fire/Unburden
Hidden Ability: Scrappy
IT'S ORIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyways, I wanted to make Orin a regional varient, and Kantonian Meowth is too fitting for this region so Purrloin it is. Fun fact, if we're strictly talking levels before evolution, this fucker learns more damaging dark moves than the dark type one, having Thief at level one and then later learning Sucker Punch at about level 19ish. Meanwhile the fire moves are Ember and Flamecharge and that's it. I referenced Purrloin's official artwork heavily. I'm pretty shit at drawing (somehow barely better when working from a reference). This thing has one of Orin's braids. It's hard to tell because I'm ASS at drawing braids. I tried. (Bonus fun fact, this varient actually largely uses Shiny Liepard's color scheme. You just can't tell because I don't color. Because I really don't do coloring.)
