While anon's ask about the GK women isn't wrong about love being a central part of their character arc/plot, I personally think it's very surface level to say love is the only big part of the female character's arcs in Golden Kamuy. Personally when I think of the most important characteristics of charas like Asirpa, Inkarmat, Sophia, etc etc I don't think of how they show/depict love right away (though no doubt it's a big part of their character and arguably what distinguishes them from the men/male charas), but more their own personality and strengths/abilities, which help support how they give and receive love. It's a lot more indepth than most female characters would give in most shounen stories so I appreciate Oda writing female characters with the dignity and respect they deserve.

credits when it's due, anon said and I quote ""love" be a part (or central) to their character plot", not just that 'love is central to their plot'.

Note how central not only is the second option but it's also between brakets. I might be wrong but I think not even anon meant to imply love is all there is to those girls (anon is free to correct me though).

As I've linked in that same reply my rather long and detailed view on female characters, I didn't feel necessary to rewrite all their respective strenghts. As I said in the past, I think that for being a Seinen GK does well enough in regard to characterizing female characters.

It's also worth to note that shonen are aimed to a younger audience compared to seinen, so characters aren't necessarily expected to have the same depth (mind you, I'm not saying they can't be deep and well characterized, just that there's often less request for it... but in the end it depends on the author).

Now, just to put things into perspective on why people has disappointed by the way females seems not to exist independently by males, there are 30 female characters (sort of) in GK which, as I've said in the past are many, diverse and well characterized but yes they're almost all tied to 1 or more male characters and, if they weren't, they wouldn't be in the story.

Let's see how they're split.

They've no name and are just some male character's mother/wife/daughter/grandmother

1 Nihei's female populated family

2 Kiroranke's wife

3 Hidoro's wife

4 Edogai's mother

5 Tanigaki's mother

6 Ogata's grandmother

1 Kenmochi Umeko (Sugimoto's initial love interest, Toraji's wife)

2 Chiyoko (Hidoro Tamotsu's lover and love interest of Hidoro Shinpei)

3 Inkarmat (feels one sided love for Wilk, will become Tanigaki's wife)

4 Tanigaki Fumi (Tanigaki's sister, Aoyama Kenkichi's wife)

5 O-gin (Sakamoto's lover/wife)

6 Ogata Tome (Ogata's mother, Hanazawa's ex-lover)

7 Harumi Chiyo (Tsukishima's love interest)

8 Hasegawa Fina (Tsurumi's wife)

1 Asirpa (Wilk's daughter... she's dragged into the gold quest because first she wants to avenge her father and then discover his role in the Ainu slaughtering, she's also Sugimoto's partner... but through the story she manages to develop a goal that's independant from males, aka protect the Ainu culture)

2 Riratte (Wilk's wife... though yes, she's also Asirpa's mom which is more important.. though Asirpa doesn't know her if not for what her father told her)

3 Sofia (one sided love for Wilk which lead Kiro to think she's the best to give them info about Wilk that might help them solve the code, Kiroranke's love interest... but she's also a revolutionary who wants improve Russia... too bad she sacrifices her goal to fulfill the one of Wilk and Kiro)

4 Svetlana (leaves her family to follow a male but wants to see Saint Petersburg)

5 Sister Miyazawa (Shiraishi's idealized love interest, she doesn't even know of his existance and wants just to do her role as a nun)

6 Monoa and the other Ainu women of her village (they were the mothers/wives of the Ainu of their village, who were held captive by escaped Kabato convicts and would want to marry Ushiyama... actually I'm placing them here solely because in the end they carry on living on their own without men but without the Kobato convicts they wouldn't likely be in the story)

7 Osoma (she got a totally unncesssary crush on Tanigaki... that she overcomes thanks to a crush for a boy her age... but she's also Asirpa's cousin and that's more relevant)

8 Enonoka (while she was doing good at being a female character on her own, ultimately the story implies she'll marry Cikapasi once she grows up... and yeah, technically she's in the story to help her grandfather with his job and to carry Sugimoto's group through Karafuto)

They aren't in the story due to a male!

1 Susupo (she's Asirpa's grandmother and while it can be argued she became as such by marrying a male... well, said male is deceased and never seen in flashbacks and it's only worth is it's established early on Susupo is an important figure in the village because her husband was)

2 Kaneko's maid (not only she's not in the story due to a male but encourage Kaneko to not think her worth is tied to how handsome her husband will be)

It's... basically almost the totality of the female cast who's dragged into the story due to male characters who're mostly the focus of the story so that even well rounded characters like Asirpa or Inkarmat or Sofia just feel too tied to the male characters... and the fact the story feels the need to give them unnedessary crushes for male characters (did Asirpa really need to have to crush on Sugimoto? Couldn't she just see him as a brother figure? Especially since Asirpa is rather young? Did Sofia really need to have to crush on Wilk? Couldn't they just be companions? Did Inkarmat really have to crush on Wilk also? Same as Asirpa couldn't she just see him as a brother/father figure?)

So while I think that GK is doing remarkably well in regard to female representation for being a Seinen... well, this is very far for equal opportunities representation and I'm not surprised if someone is annoyed and feel like females are ALWAYS sidelined compared to male characters in manga... especially because in many countries shonen and seinen are the predominant manga which get translated, so if you aren't aware of what's a shonen, shoujo, seinen, josei but collect each story under the umbrella term of manga, the disparity gets even more marked.

That's why my stance is to aknowledge GK for how he's doing better, but also aknowledge that female representation in it is far from perfect.

Also... I think it's just a typo but Oda is "One piece" creator... "Golden Kamuy" was made by Noda... ^_-

Sorry for the long reply you probably didn't ask for.

The whole 'females in GK' would probably deserve a full meta which, at this point, I'm not going to write but, in honor of all those who complain, I wanted to write I also understand why they've problems with them, because indeed there are problems with them, even though I tend to see GK as a work that, for a seinen, deserves more praises than criticisms in that aspects.

We got a bunch of big MMA cards going down today as well as the K-1 Grand Prix. All the cards are in Europe or Japan so, be mindful of start times.

We have PFL Europe 2024 3 from Scotland. We have the playoffs for their tournament. Some good prospects on that card, including Shanelle Dyer. But also veterans like Stevie Ray, Rob Whiteford, and Roger Huerta. Card starts at 12 pm ET.

The UFC is in Paris this week. Some good fights on the card with some recognizable names. Renato Moicano vs Benoit Saint Denis and Nassourdine Imavov vs Brendan Allen in the headlining spots with appearances from Joanderson Brito, Charriere, Ludovin Klein, Taylor Lapilus, Jacky Cavalcante, Nora Cornolle, and more. Not bad. Card starts 12 pm ET too.

More women’s boxing! The WBO Lightweight title is on the line as champion Rhiannon Dixon takes on former 140lb champ Terri Harper. Plus it features Olympic champion Galal Yafai, which is cool. Card starts at 2pm ET.

We have a big card going down in Japan tonight. RIZIN 48 will be free for via RIZIN TV! Which is dope! Plenty of fun fights on the card. Satoshi Souza vs Luiz Gustavo for the LW title, Naoki Inoue vs Soo Chul Kim for the BW title, Yuki Motoya vs Olympic wrestler Shinobu Ota, Seika Izawa vs Kanna Asakura, Yusuke Yachi vs Sho Patrick Usami, and more. Great intro card for people who have never seen RIZIN. Card will start at 1am ET for those in the US.

-sigh- K-1’s 55kg world Grand Prix continues. Sadly, no legal way to watch outside of Japan. Iykyk though and there are ways to watch. All the big hitters are on this one - Yuki Yoza, Taito Gunji, Liu Ce, Masashi Kumura, Akihiro Kaneko, etc. card starts at 10:30 pm ET tonight.

When a game is over and all hidden things have been found, what is there left to do? Move on. That's what you would have liked to have done after finishing the disappointing secret ending of a popular otome game. But when the story is over, and all things were said and done, you find yourself trapped in that very game. Faced with the task to keep everyone alive, can you make it to the end without falling in love?

Chapter Fifteen

Gym Class Blues

“Wow, L/n-chan, you're even cuter than when I last saw you,” Fuyuhiko joked with that boyish grin he’s famous for. “And here I thought that wasn’t possible.”

You couldn't deny the small butterflies that fluttered in your tummy at his words, but you push that aside as you already know how he is. Though a certain female lead seems to currently be a flaming ball of fire, standing off to the side of you. “Hey, Kaneko-kun, charming as always I see,” you say half sarcastically, unintentionally pouting.

“Ouch, you could sound a little happier to see me. After all, we don’t get these joint gym classes often, isn’t that right Kobayashi-chan?” The flirt asked the fireball named Yuki with a tilt of his head, obviously he was teasing her.

“Hmph! I see you’re inviting yourself into other people’s conversations, as per usual,” Yuki said as she stared at the boy in contempt. “No one called you over, so why don’t you beat it! We have other important matters to deal with besides listening to your nonsense.” She turned her nose up to him.

While the attention was off of you, you took a moment to observe the interaction between the two as they continued to bicker, seemingly ignoring the other four parties present. This whole plan that you developed to get Emi and Suzuki together was created so that you could keep him away from Yuki so that you could hopefully save his life. More than likely all of your future plans will have the same concept; keep everybody away from Yuki so that Akui won’t want to kill them. Which is proving to be much easier said than done

Theoretically speaking, the first step to any plan that involved keeping Yuki away from the capture targets would be to not have them meet at all. Can't fall in love if they never actually meet. Suffice to say you failed on that front. All three love interests have already met her, with you being the technical reason for one meeting, and it was only a matter of time before they showed interest in her. Technically you will have the longest time to get them to not be interested in Yuki as their relationship development is a slow process over the full school year, but the longer you leave them alone the harder it will be to make them lose interest in her down the line.

‘I think I'm starting to see why all three of the love interests have some sort of enemies to lovers aspect to them. At the start of each route, there is something about the love interest that Yuki doesn't agree with, but as their relationship progresses she slowly starts to understand them better and feelings start to form. Maybe that’s why Akui didn't do anything to the love interests in their original routes; he thought that there was no way Yuki could fall for someone she is constantly arguing with. And it's not like they ever tried to hurt her like most of the other people he killed, but in the secret ending it seemed like romantic interest was building much faster between all of the love interests. This is probably due to the fact that the player has to purposely keep Yuki from investigating crime scenes. That might be why Akui was actually driven to kill the love interests, and if I'm safe to assume that this world follows the plot of the secret ending then change needs to start now…’

“Hey, Yuki-chan,” you interrupted before she could hurl another insult at Fuyuhiko. Everyone present perked up at the sound of your voice. “I think maybe you should be a little nicer to Kaneko-kun. He's not as bad as you think once you get to know him…” you nervously trail off as you stare down at your gym shoes. ‘Fuyuhiko’s interest in Yuki started with her constant, and a lot of the times harsh, rejections towards him. It was amusing for him to watch at first. If I can get her to be more passive and nice towards him then that might just be step one in my plan to keep him alive.’

When Yuki didn't immediately reply, and when the silence became too embarrassing to bear, you lifted your head to see why, only to be thoroughly surprised by the almost horrified look on Yuki’s face.

“Oh no, Y/n-chan! Don't tell me that this womanizer got to you too!” she practically yelled, whole body reeling back as if the words you just spoke physically burned her.

“Huh?” you couldn't help but dumbfounded exclaim.

“Oh?” And Fuyuhiko couldn't look any more amused. In one swift motion, he was at your side with an arm around your shoulders. “See, Kobayashi-chan, L/n-chan doesn't think I'm that bad of a person, so you should lighten up a bit,” he taunted with a cheeky smirk, giving your shoulder a light squeeze as added emphasis.

You probably would have gotten embarrassed again if it wasn’t for the fact that, no sooner after he said that, Yuki pulled you away from him while shouting, “What have I told you about personal space! Your degeneracy will taint the pureness of Y/n-chan!”

“Degenera–? I’m nothing but the very definition of a gentleman!” Fuyuhiko barked out completely offended by her statement.

‘This is the exact opposite of what I wanted!’ you bemoaned in your head. You were almost sandwiched between the two as they stared each other down. Yuki with a fiery glare and Fuyuhiko with a look of annoyance despite the smile that was on his face that was twitching with annoyance. ‘Fuyuhiko is one of the more calm of the love interests, but he absolutely hates it when people call him a degenerate or a pervert. He may be a womanizer but there are lines even he won’t cross…’

“Uhm, Yuki-chan, Kaneko-kun; maybe you two should calm down…” Emi nervously commented, trying to remediate the situation, but to you it was like an angel coming to rescue you. “I don’t think this is good for Y/n-chan’s heart…” she commented after taking notice of your distressed form. Commediacly, it was almost like your soul was leaving your body.

‘Thank you, Emi-chan! I almost forgot you and the others were here, you truly are an angel!’

“Hmph,” Yuki flipped her hair while sharply turning away from Fuyuhiko. “For the sake of Y/n-chan, then sure, I’ll behave for now. But I still don’t like him.”

“That’s fine, but please let’s not cause a scene…” Emi couldn’t do much besides sweatdrop at Yuki’s stubbornness. Both you and her couldn’t help but watch with apprehensive smiles as she stomped away to go and complain to Akui about Fuyuhiko.

“Your new friends sure are a boisterous bunch, huh, Nakano-chan?” Suzuki kind heartedly spoke up after being quiet since his arrival.

‘Please don’t think we’re crazy…’ you forelonly thought with an almost exasperated sigh.

“They are, aren’t they? But I think that’s what makes them so much fun to be around,” Emi said with a grin. “They all have been so kind to me, and they’re helping me even though they don’t have to. I couldn’t be more grateful.”

“Oh? I didn’t know you were in need of help. Is there anything that I can do?” Suzuki kindly asked. His sincerity and concern were evident by the look on his face.

“W-well, uhh, I-I mean…” words caught in her throat, Emi became flustered by the sudden question and didn’t know how to respond.

“It’s a girl problem, sorry but we can’t tell you,” you quickly interjected, wrapping your arm around her shoulder and bringing her closer to you. “We already have Akui-kun in our business; we don’t need any more men knowing,” you continued with a matter of fact tone.

“It’s about a boy, isn’t it,” Fuyuhiko knowingly remarked.

‘Right, he’s still here…’

While you could have denied it, crushes were usually seen as secretive and many people would be quick to deny, the more you thought about it the more you figured you could probably use him to your advantage. So “Maybe,” was your simple response.

“Y-Y/n-chan!” Emi exclaimed with her face growing even redder.

“Relax, relax, Emi-chan, I’ve got your back, remember?” you assured her. “Anyways, you all should probably pair up now for the five v. five volleyball matches.”

Having heard the tail end of the conversation, Yuki excitedly walked back over to you. “I want Y/n-chan to be on my team!” she proclaimed happily. While this was a rather endearing display to witness, it appears Yuki overlooked one important factor.

“Um, Yuki-chan, I’m not participating in any of the matches today…” You say trying to let her down gently.

“Eh? But why?” Yuki exclaimed with wide eyes. It was her genuine lack of awareness that led everyone present to just stare at her in bewilderment for a second, wondering if she was actually this dense.

“Her hand is broken, Yuki-chan…” It seems Akui was the one who had to let her know.

It took a second or two for the information to register in her head, and when it did her entire face erupted into flames. “Oh my gosh! I am so sorry, Y/n-chan! Please forgive my inconsideration!” She chanted a mantra of apologies over and over again, bowing deeping each time she did so.

“Don’t worry about it, Yuki-chan. I don’t blame you or anything…” You trailed off as she continued her barrage of repeated bows, sweat dropping at her overly enthused apologies.

When Yuki finally stopped apologizing, she stood up straight, a red color still evident on her face, before she stiffly walked over to Akui and grabbed him by his hand. “Let’s go, Minato-kun. Emi-chan, Suzuki-kun, you two can be a part of our team as well,” she offered as she began to walk away with Akui in tow.

“Oh? It seems you still have a spot open on your team. Mind if I join, Kobayashi-chan?” Fuyuhiko suavely asked.

“Drop dead.”

“Ouch, that wasn’t very nice of you to say. I wonder what L/n-chan would have to say to something like that,” Fuyuhiko further teased with a small smirk.

“Er–” Yuki halted in her steps. She spares a nervous glance over at you as if expecting scolding.

“Well that was a little extreme of you to say, Yuki-chan, so if you’re gonna banter with him then please try to avoid anything violent,” you lightly chastised. ‘Besides, if you go around telling people to die, even if it’s only an exaggeration, I’m afraid that Akui might actually take you seriously…’

Yuki huffed lightly with a pout as she stubbornly agreed. “Okaay…”

“That goes for you too, Kaneko-kun,” you added.

“Hm? Me too?”

You did your best to put on a stern face, but any one else could agree that it was on par with Yuki’s angry pout when it comes to cuteness. “What I really want is for both you and Yuki-chan to get along, and that means you also have to stop picking a fight with her.”

“Alright, alright, I’ll heel. I should probably get going to find my own team now anyways,” Fuyuhiko responded, lifting his hands up in a surrender manner. A little ways over there seemed to be a group of girls standing off to the side as they stared giddily at the notorious flirt. It obviously seems like they wanted to be a part of his team as well as a few other boys who were aware of his decent athletic ability. They were willing to put aside their jealousy in order to have a fighting chance at winning the upcoming volleyball matches. “I’ll see you another time then L/n-chan,” he waved bye as he left.

“The teacher’s calling the teams over now; we should get going too,” Akui pointed out.

“All right, let’s go guys,” Yuki replied as she and Akui started off again.

“A-Ah, right,” Emi stammered, going to follow after Suzuki who had already begun walking away, but you stopped her before she could go far. “Y/n-chan?” she questioned.

“Remember, have confidence in yourself, Emi-chan,” you began. “Self-confidence is practically the most attractive quality a person would have, so if you want Suzuki-kun to notice you then it starts by having confidence in yourself and putting yourself out there,” you continued to explain.

Emi marveled at your own confidence that you displayed. “Okay, I’ll do my best!” she cheered.

“Nakano-chan, are you coming?” It was Suzuki. Looks like he turned around after noticing Emi’s lack or presence.

“Y-Yes! I’m–” she hesitated for a moment, but a quick glance over to you with your reassuring smile allowed her to gain more confidence. “I’m going now, so let’s go, Suzuki-kun!” She happily said before rushing to grab his hand to pull him along with her. “We wouldn’t want to be left behind, ‘kay?”

“Oh, right…” Suzuki replied before being whisked off by Emi.

You watched the two as they made their way back to the rest of your classmates before you dropped your head and released a sigh. ‘Confidence, huh…’ There were only three more days that you could use to try and set Suzuki up with Emi. If you fail, and Suzuki does end up asking Yuki out then he’s as good as dead come Saturday. ‘There’s no room for failure because if I do then what in the world am I going to do to fix it? What’s my plan B? I already put into place the rejection strategy by telling Yuki about Emi’s feelings for Suzuki, so there’s no way she would ever accept his confession. In fact she will probably be very sad for Emi because the boy she likes ended up asking her out. Even so, if Yuki confides with Akui about the situation then who’s to say he won’t want to kill him anyways. I could get him expelled like Makino. No, he’s too much of a good person for me to frame him for anything. So then what would make a good plan B?’

Feeling fatigued despite not having done any strenuous labor, you decide to rest on a nearby bench. ‘Following him around won’t work. The chances of me getting caught are too high, and besides how long will I have to follow him around for anyways? He’s supposed to be dead by Saturday but will Yuki’s rejection change that date? If I was rejected then I’d probably not want to leave my house till the next time I desperately had to, like for school or something, which would mean he wouldn’t be out Saturday night for Akui to kill him. If Saturday passes and he ain’t dead then does that mean I pass regardless of Akui’s murderous intent? Or will his death date be changed to a different day? If that happens then my information will be useless, but maybe if I can get Yuki to confide in me about it then Akui won’t know. But how do I go about that? It’s not like I can replace the years worth of friendship that those two built. Ugh! All this thinking is hurting my brain!’ You reached a hand up and began to massage your temples a bit, trying to relieve yourself of the strengthening headache. ‘It’s not like I can do nothing, I need to try whatever I can to try and keep all these people alive.’

“Are you alright, L/n-chan?” A boy suddenly asked you. A boy whose voice you recognized.

“Huh?” You lifted your head. “Fukumoto-kun?”

His eyes seemed to widen when they met yours. “You’re crying.”

Realizing that this fact was true, you quickly whipped away the few tears that slipped past you as you hurriedly went to respond. “O-Oh! I’m sorry,” you shifted your body to face away from him. “I’m fine, really, just a headache is all.” ‘Why do all these love interests always find me at my worst?’ “A-Anyways, what brings you here, Fukumoto-kun? Shouldn’t you be playing volleyball with all the others?”

He stared at you for a moment longer before he responded. “I decided to sit out to make the numbers more even. Technically I’m more like the acting waterboy.” He looked like he wanted to say more but was hesitating. Rubbing the nape of his neck he looked away from you and finally decided to say. “I noticed you weren’t looking so good so I decided to check on you. Are you sure you're fine? I could take you to the nurse's office if you're not feeling up for class…”

“Oh, you don’t have to worry about me,” you say as you frantically wave your hands to try and dismiss his worries. “I’m honestly fine–ah…” You went to stand up to further emphasize your point, but your body betrayed you. The sudden movement caused your vision to go black for a second and your body to sway slightly.

“Woah, hey!” Akihiko exclaimed using his hands to steady you by placing one on the small of your back and the other holding your forearm. “It’s obvious you're not feeling well, so stop being stubborn and let me take you to the nurse’s office,” his tone was stern as he said this, but you knew it came from a good place.

“Okay…” so you agreed to be taken to the nurses office.

After getting permission from the gym teacher, Akihiko was the one to lead you to the nurses office. Of course Yuki and the others caught wind of this, leading to a mini argument about who should be the one to take you there. Since Akihiko wasn’t participating anyway, it was only rational that he took you. Yuki wanted to tag along anyways, but the teacher was adamant about not letting her or anyone else go with.

“Pardon us,” Akihiko said as he opened the door to the nurses office. “Obara-sensei, I have a classmate who needs to rest here for a while. She started to feel light headed during gym class.”

Sitting casually in her swivel chair was the school nurse of Kibou High School, Obara Jun. She was an elderly woman with graying hair and prominent wrinkles, but there was a clear authoritarian aura around her. You personally met for the first time after Makino attacked you. Apparently you were also taken to her after your fall in the bathroom, but you were unconscious for that meeting.

“Oh, it’s you again…” Obara muttered, looking at you from over her glasses. “I’m sure your doctor has told you to take it slow, yes?”

“Uh, yes ma’am,” you hurriedly responded.

“And have you?” Obara questioned again.

“Uhm, yes? I mean for the most part… I didn’t participate in many gym class activities if that’s what you mean…” you rambled. “Just stretches really…”

“Hmm…” Obara hummed in thought. “Well stretching alone won’t do you any harm, it might even be good for your sore limbs, but stress, anxiety, migraines, and dehydration are more common factors for such a reaction. Then there’s your history of repeated head injury… Hmm.” She turned back around to face her computer. “You may rest there,” she said, pointing over to the bed that rested in the corner. “I’m gonna call your parents about a few things I’m concerned with. Sit tight until I get back,” Obara continued on to say before standing up and began making her way to the door. “Akihiko-kun, make sure she gets there safely, and then you may go.”

“Of course, Obara-sensei.”

Once she left, Akihiko led you to sit down on the white medical bed. Afterwards you subconsciously began to look around the room. “Will you be fine on your own?” Akihiko asked after observing your lazy expression.

“Hm? Yeah, I’ll be fine…” you mumbled absentmindedly. ‘Stress, anxiety, migraines, and dehydration…With all I’m going through it’s no surprise. If I can’t talk about the mind numbing notion of being in a video game then I can at least talk out about what happened with Makino,’ you thought to yourself as you continued looking around the nurse’s desk. It was the pen holder that really caught your eye. ‘I remember a boy back in elementary school who broke his arm, and he got everyone in the class to sign it… maybe my new friends here might be interested in signing mine.’ “Hey, Fukumoto-kun,” you suddenly called out to the boy who still remained in the room. That far off look in your eyes worried him more than he would like to admit.

“Y-Yes? What do you need, L/n-san?” He was quick to respond.

“Do you want to sign my cast?” you asked, finally looking lucid enough to look him in the eye. “I’m sure she has a few permanent markers over there you could use…” you trailed off as embarrassment settled in. ‘Maybe I shouldn’t have asked…’

“I just take a marker and write my name, yes?” Akihiko asked, grabbing a marker from the pen holder. “Alright then, where should I sign?”

“O-Oh! Uhm, anywhere’s fine, just don’t make it too big,” you said, perking up a bit. Holding out your cast bound arm, you watched as Akihiko gingerly took your hand and began to write his name in simple calligraphy. He wrote it on the inner side of your cast, so that it was a bit out of sight. Now that you thought about it, if you walked around with only Akihiko’s name written on for a while people might start talking and spreading rumors.

“There, all done,” he concluded as he stood back to his full height. You noted how his ears were red again. “I should probably get back to the field now, feel better soon, alright?”

“Of course,” you say, smiling lightly. “I’ll see you later, ‘kay” The boy only nodded in reply before turning and leaving. Now that he was gone, you took it upon yourself to actually lay fully down. Resting wasn’t too bad an idea. It will allow your body to rest and reset, then maybe you could come up with a backup plan if your main one ends up failing. Closing your eyes, you waited for sleep to overtake you.

“Hey, old hag–” someone bellowed as they slid the sliding door open. The loud interruption spooked you to quickly sit upright, which was a bad idea. The sudden drop in your blood pressure caused you to go light headed again and led you to clutch the sides of your head.

“Ah–” you gasped with your eyes clenched shut. “Oh, hey, Matsumura-kun…” you said while peeking open one eye.

“Er… Hey, L/n-san…”

A/n: Man, did I have fun writing this chapter. I don't really know if the custom of writing on a friends cast is common in Japan, but when I went to Google it there weren't any results on where it started or if it was something that friends did in Japan. I read somewhere that it is a thing that some kids do in some Southeast Asian countries but no one said anything about the origin of it, so for the sake of cute moments I'm gonna make it a thing, at least in my fake town. I have also come to realize that because I'm constantly going back and forth during the writing process of each chapter that when I go to reread and edit I don't have the motivation to do so because I've stared at it for too long. This just means that at some point I'm gonna have to put my story on a brief hiatus so that I can take a break and don't get burned out, so that I can go in an edit it with no problems. I'm not sure when I'll do this, maybe after a few more chapters or something, but you don't have to worry about it being too soon. Anyways, as you might be able to see, the reader's mental and physical health is slowly starting to show the effect of all that's happened to her. Unlike with a lot of stories where the mc doesn't realize or chooses to ignore it, my reader isn't stubborn enough to tough things out when she doesn't have to. She can see that all these things, big and small, are negatively affecting her well being. Now she just has to figure out how to healthily cope without seeming weird or out of character to the people around her. My sister has told me she feels bad for my character, especially because she knows a bit about what I have planned for the future, meanwhile I'm over here typing away while evil laughing as I plan it all out, lol! In my defense though, I know for a fact there are writers out there who give their OCs more trauma than I do. I think I've been rambling enough, so I'll see everyone in the next update. Bye!

Fun-fact #2: The color of the reader's cast, which is like a neon green, is based on the color of a cast that I wore way back in elementary school. Sometime during kindergarten my sister and our friend broken my forearm and wrist when we were messing around with an elliptical bike. I wanted a pink cast but the hospital didn't have that color, so it was a choice between red and green and I chose green for some reason. Unlike the reader who only had her wrist mildly fractured, almost my whole arm was encapsulated in it, but the thing that made me the most sad was that I couldn't climb the monkey bars anymore, lol.

I've mentioned them in passing in the past, both ooc and in a few ic posts here and there, so I figure; it's time I officially and formally introduced Kairi's adoptive family... aka... drum roll...

Kenji and Aika.

I'll put their information under a readmore for courtesy's sake, in case I end up rambling too much and it all gets too long ! but here we go !

Kaneko Kenji.

Age: 41. Pronouns: he/him Face claim: Kubota Yuki. Occupation: Mayor of Destiny Islands. Likes: Reading, journaling, scuba diving, walking/exercising. Dislikes: Dishonesty/lying, close-mindedness, cigarettes/the smell of cigarette smoke, sweets. Personality: Hard-working, kind-hearted, ambiverted, pragmatic. Extra: Is allergic to cats. Background: Kenji, with a love for the Islands he called home, throughout his entire youth aspired to one day be mayor and take care of both his home and his fellow Islanders. He later on did just that, becoming mayor at the age of 27. He was the youngest mayor in the history of Destiny Islands, and never anticipated doing anything with his life other than what his job would bring. Then one night, a brief number of months after he took on the position, there was a sudden, unanticipated meteor shower over the Destiny Islands — one that heralded the arrival of a four year old little girl by the name of Kairi, with red hair and indigo-blue eyes. She seemed to be alone, lost, scared, and seemingly amnesiac, and as a result of this the people of Destiny Islands had questions, and no idea what to do with her; they turned to Kenji with their inquiries — Where are her parents? Where did she come from? Why is she here?

Being at an equal loss of what to do and with an equal lack of answers, Kenji was very quickly forced to come to the decision to take Kairi in and raise her on his own. At first, he was uncertain as to how he would do raising a child by himself — he had no experience with kids of any kind of age. He tried his best to balance out his career with Kairi's upbringing and though he did admittedly struggle from time to time — having to, on occasion, put his mayoral affairs first — he still was, overall, a loving and caring enough father in his own way. He has made Kairi smile, laugh, cry, etc., in multiple ways over the years, and has always gone out of his way to ensure she is taken care of and looked after even in the moments when he can't always be around, himself.

When Kairi was only eight, Kenji married a woman named Hayami whose selfishness and dishonesty eventually caused a rift in their marriage. They split after two years, and for five months after the divorce Kenji remained single. Then near the end of those five months he met Aika, another woman who turned out to be a much kinder soul than Hayami had been. They began dating shortly after meeting and a year and a half later got married, when Kairi was twelve.

They've been together ever since.

Kaneko Aika.

Age: 36. Pronouns: she/her Face claim: Ally Maki. Occupation: Waitress. Likes: Gardening, surfing, journaling, dancing, spicy food. Dislikes: Rudeness, arrogance, passive-aggression, hot beverages of any kind, poor hygiene. Personality: Prudent, compassionate, confident, hard-working. Extra: Actually attended the same high school as Kenji. Background:

Being the daughter of a fisherman, and a waitress, like herself, Aika was raised into a both diligent and respectful mindset — learning to always treat others with the golden rule, and work hard at anything she set her mind to. She kept the belief of both these things well throughout her youth and young adulthood, and the former proved to pay off when she eventually won the heart of the mayor of Destiny Islands only a few months after meeting him.

Aika became a part of Kenji and his daughter's lives so very quickly that it surprised her, but pleasantly so, and she has never once faltered in caring for either of the two of them — showing time and time again both patience and compassion whenever it has come to supporting either Kenji in his mayoral career, or Kairi in her own endeavors. She even, at one point, taught Kairi how to plant things, and the two of them have a shared garden of their own behind Kenji's house.

As kind-hearted as she is, Aika has also proven to be fiercely loyal and protective over her newfound family; she has been shown to never take any shit despite her good-natured temperament.

She works four days a week at a small cafe in the center of town, on the main Island.

Kachiyo Aoyama's behavior is unusual and can be described as winter weather behavior, as ruthless as snowstorms and can freeze people to death. Sometimes, the behavior is as calm as a sunny winter day, she would help people for various reasons, and she can be found in cold snowy areas outside of the city.

Type: Tengu (Half)

Dislikes: Other yokai (Sometimes)

Kazunari is believed to be a guardian of the mountains in Murata Masaki which he loves to enjoy spreading misfortune to others. Because of his behavior vis mischievous and malevolent behavior, he gets into conflicts with many people and sometimes other yokai as well, especially in forests from time to time. He lacks the long nose and the red face parts of the Tengu since he is half human.

Masame Koga was born as a human but was starved from her entitled parents and she has ran away at a young age. As time went on from not eating a lot, her hair had developed a second mouth and her hair can be moved like serpents. The second mouth when not fed can cause pain to her. She was married to someone once but this secret has been revealed, she was abandoned by him. She can get afraid of her own hair from time to time. She can be sometimes found around cats and makes sure that no cats are harmed near her.

Type: Kuchisake-onna

Yuki Yashiro Was an ordinary person who was looking for love when her husband abandons her and she was abused when her husband came back for her. The final thing he did was leave scars on her mouth. Years later, she has become vengeful which she covers her scars and would give the same pain to anyone who says that she is pretty.

Kuchi isn't a human but she shapeshifts into one but she prays on men around her age but targets more entitled males who abuses their romantic partner in anyway shape or form. Once you come into contact with her physically, you wouldn't be able to escape from her. She wants to use the silk that she makes for other uses in her life in anyway possible.

Species: Mostly Kitsune, part Oni

Dislikes: Loud noises, cities,

Megomi has a mixed heritage of a mother oni and a father kitsune. She isolated herself from the city since her ears are very sensitive to loud noises and it upsets her dearly. She makes sure that she keeps people safe (Provided that they don't hurt her), her kitsune form would have her horn and her normal form doesn't have the kitsune ears.

Chapter Seventeen

According to Plan?

Some time before Emi’s confession.

“Do you think she can do it?”

“Shh! We don’t want them to see us, Y/n-chan.”

“Why are we in the bush again?”

Not wanting to leave anything to chance, you decided to watch Emi’s moment from a distance, with her knowledge of course. Yuki just decided to tag along and she dragged Akui with her, so now you three were hiding in the bushes from a good distance while observing the interactions between Emi and Suzuki. Perhaps you were being overly cautious, but this was someone’s life you were talking about, the matter was bigger than a simple confession.

“Wait, he keeps looking at her!” Yuki excitedly whispered, tugging on your arm.

“Sshh, I can see that,” you whispered back. “This… this is a good sign.” A sigh of relief escaped your lips, but you weren’t letting your guard down just yet.

With bated breaths, you continued to watch the two from afar, hoping with everything you had that one of them would make the first move already.

“So this is what you’ve been up to.” A voice teasingly said from next to your ear.

You gasped and almost fell back when your head whipped around only to find yourself almost nose to nose with Kaneko Fuyuhiko, who snuck to crouch next to you. “Eep–!” You had to quickly slap a hand over your mouth before you gave away your hiding spot.

“You-!” Yuki was about to explode on Fuyuhiko, but luckily Akui had quickly placed a hand over her mouth.

“K-Kaneko-kun?!” you exasperatedly whispered. “What’re you doing here?”

Fuyuhiko simply gave you a closed eyed smile, completely ignoring how Yuki looked to be being held back by Akui, before nonchalantly responding. “Well, I’ve noticed how your little group has been acting rather peculiarly this week.” He then turned to look on at Emi and Suzuki, an amused twinkle in his eyes. “I guess this is what had you so distracted. Playing matchmaker is see.”

The words lumped in your throat, unable to escape as you sputtered. You did not expect for Fuyuhiko to show up and bust you like this. “W-well, actually…uh…” You were at a loss to respond. You weren’t even sure why, it’s not like you were committing some crime or anything, but the cheeky smirk plastered on Fuyuhiko’s face made you feel like you just got caught with your hand in the cookie jar. ‘Focus, Y/n! Emi and Suzuki are the priority here.’ “The details… aren’t important. But, yes, technically I have been trying to set those two up together.” You finally responded.

“Interesting. Didn’t know you knew about the affairs of the heart, L/n-chan,” he teased. “Though, I’d say you’re doing a decent job.” He looked back up at Emi and Suzuki as they both continued to silently tend to the gardens. Fuyuhiko observed as Suzuki would occasionally sneak glances at Emi. “He’s definitely interested in her.”

His words pique your interest while Yuki simply scoffed out of spite. “Puh-lease. What do you know about love?”

Fuyuhiko turned to her, a challenging grin on his lips as his eyebrow arched up. “Ha, do you realize who you’re talking to? I know the affairs of the heart, and besides, I am a guy after all.”

His words got you thinking. Fuyuhiko has had plenty of experience dealing with romantic feelings, so he probably has a better reading on what Suzuki is feeling than you did. Which is why before Yuki could utter her snarky come back, you said, “Kaneko-kun, would you mind sticking around? Our goal is to have him confess today, and you being here would be a big help."

“Y/n-chan?!” Yuki exclaimed in mild confusion.

Fuyuhiko chuckled while nodding his head. “I suppose I can offer you my assistance. After all, what’re friends for?” he responded, the hint of his signature boyish smoke still lingering on his lips.

“We are not friends…” Yuki quietly grumbled under her breath, to which Fuyuhiko promptly ignored.

“Our Lover Boy is clearly interested, but if that interest is enough to get him to confess is another story,” Fuyuhiko told you.

“Yeah, I figured as much,” you thoughtfully said, thinking about what you'll have to do if Suzuki never makes a move or straight up rejects Emi. “Let’s just watch and see.”

For a few minutes longer, your little group continued to watch with bated breaths as you all observed Emi and Suzuki as they went about their gardening club duties. A watchful silence fell over the group as they stared on at the two, looking for any sign that one might make a move.

“What are you all up to?” The voice of Akihiko suddenly announced his arrival. He stood standing obviously over your group of teens crouching behind some bushes, peering down with a raised, suspicious eyebrow. His eyes shifted over to Emi and Suzuki, but before he could comment any further on what you all were doing, you quickly pulled him down behind the bush, joining your little group crouching on the ground. “What’re you–?” he started to say with a mildly surprised expression as he was pulled down.

“Shh,” you gently quieted him. “I know this is a bit… unorthodox, but trust me this is for a good cause.” You tried to explain yourself. And you were quick to elaborate at Akihiko’s arched brow.

“What good cause could possibly justify hiding in the bushes and spying on our classmates like this?”

“W-Well, Emi-chan knows that we’re here at least,” you halfheartedly countered. “She originally wanted us here for moral support because she’s interested in Suzuki-san and wants to confess, but then Kaneko-kun showed up, and he said he’d gauge Suzuki’s reactions for us, and… well… now you’re here…”

Akihiko’s perplexed expression softened slightly, a curious and more understanding gleam replacing his skepticism. "I see, so if I'm understanding this correctly, you're trying get our two classmates together, and you're here behind this bush to wacth how it pands out because. . . she asked you too?" he squestioned, still whispering, "you're all hiding in the bushes to play matchmaker?"

“You see, that’s what I said,” Fuyuhiko chimed in.

“You guys!” Yuki suddenly called for attention. “He’s making a move!”

All attention snapped back to Emi and Suzuki, watching as the aforementioned boy tucked a strand of hair behind Emi’s ear.

“Ooh, real smooth,” Fuyuhiko whistled.

Your heart pounded within your chest in anticipation as you watched the scene unfold. You could see Suzuki’s lips moving but couldn’t hear what he was talking about as you had chosen to be at a good distance to give their conversation some privacy. Emi looked bashful as she apparently responded to something he said before a look of confusion overtook her features at something Suzuki said. She reached into her skirt pocket to pull out what looked like a hair tie. She handed it to him before hesitantly turning around. You were glad that you told her to let her hair down for today, knowing it should play well into your plan. It wasn’t supposed to be like one of those ‘she’s pretty once she lets her hair down’ situations, it was more sp supposed to be not only a conversation starter but also to spark curiosity in him.

Yuki was practically squealing as Suzuki gently combed Emi’s hair back into her usual style. His movements appeared slow and deliberate as to not hurt her, and from here you could see how both of their faces were slightly flushed. Once he was done, he didn’t step away immediately, instead staring down at her intently, an internal war in his eyes. You held your breath as you wondered if this was the moment he would confess, but your heart almost sank when he stepped away, muttering something as he looked away with a red blush on his face.

From next to you Fuyuhiko sighed. “No, I doubt he’ll confess right now. He might not even realize that he has some attraction towards her.”

You had to bite back your disappointment as you watched Suzuki go back to the gardening work, watching as Emi stood still, looking on as Suzuki went to work. She must be just as disappointed as you were, but you had a plan for this scenario, and now it all relied on Emi and her confidence.

“Wait, is she saying something…?” Yuki squinted.

Emi did in fact say something, her words calling for attention from Suzuki as he stood to now look at her head on. What she said caused his eyes to go wide as a noticeable blush took over his features.

“Did…Did she..?” Fuyuhiko could barely speak his question as he was actually surprised.

“She did,” you responded, not taking your eyes off the two, trying to figure out what Suzuki’s reaction would be.

The boy stood motionless for a second before a gentle smile crossed his features as he bashfully turned away, stretching his cheek. He opened his mouth to say something, and it seemed that whatever he said caused Emi’s expression to slowly morph into that of elation. Suzuki faced her again, before confidently nodding his head. Your heart was able to relax as the two shared a tender embrace that anyone could tell was now between two individuals who were more than just friends.

You felt your shoulders relax and all tension finally left your body. As the scene unfolded before your eyes, you could feel a collective sigh of relief and excitement from your group. Fuyuhiko let out a low whistle, a satisfied grin forming on his face.

"Well, I'll be," he muttered under his breath. "She actually did it. Impressive."

Akihiko pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. “I’m still unsure what exactly I just witnessed, but I presume this outcome was favorable,” he admitted.

Yuki was giddy and shaking with excitement. The next thing you knew, you stared with wide eyes as she was jumping up from the hiding spot, Akui unable to catch her in time, a jovial grin on her face. “Whoo-hoo!! She did it!” she blithely exclaimed, throwing her hands up, gaining all attention on her.

The entire group froze in surprise as Yuki's exuberant exclamations broke the relaxed silence that had settled after your friends' embrace.

Emi and Suzuki both turned their heads towards your group, their faces displaying a mix of surprise and confusion as a fiery blush settled onto their features. Emi had been so engrossed in her moment with Suzuki that she had temporarily forgotten that you and your friends were watching.

Fuyuhiko facepalmed himself with a loud groan. "Remind me again why you’re friends with her?" he muttered under his breath.

“Well…”

Sensing her mistake, Yuki quickly went to compose herself, a pink blush settling on her face as she sheepishly smiled. “Oh…sorry.”

You, yourself, wanted to facepalm along with Fuyuhiko as the feeling of second hand embarrassment you felt after witnessing that. The point of hiding was so Suzuki didn’t know you were there watching the interaction. Akui shook his head with a subtle smile, finding Yuki to be endearing while Akihiko simply sighed. Slowly, you rose to stand next to Yuki.

“O-Oh, hey…ha ha…haa…” Boy did you feel awkward.

Emi starred in an embarrassed mortification as, slowly, the rest of your group rose to stand along with you and Yuki. She quickly snapped her head to Suzuki, wanting to explain your group's presence even though she was confused by the appearance of Fuyuhiko and Akihiko, but the words seem to die in her throat. “Uh, ehh…” She could only stare up at the boy, waiting for his reaction.

Suzuki stood there, blinking in confusion as he took in the sight of the five of you standing there, having now been seen by both him and Emi. His confusion was evident on his face as he glanced back and forth between the members of your group over to Emi. The atmosphere was tense as everyone seemed to wait for a response from the raven haired boy.

It was a breathy, amused chuckle that left Suzuki that eventually broke the silence. “I see your friends are as eccentric as ever, huh, Nakano-chan,” he casually said in a friendly manner. He placed a hand on her head and gave it a light ruffle. “Guess you needed some support.”

Emi looked both relieved and embarrassed, flushing redder at the contact of Suzuki’s hand to her head, a bit of sheepishness mixed in. She shakily chuckled and nodded in agreement. “Yeah, I guess they can be a bit much sometimes,” she remarked, though her eyes held a slight fondness. She thought back to the start of this week, you and her weren’t close but you gladly offered to help get her long-time crush to notice her, even enlisting the help of your own friends. It really was forward of you, but Emi couldn’t be any more grateful now that Suzuki has agreed to a date with. “But they really do mean well.”

Suzuki stared down at her, a fond look in his eyes. He was glad to see her make such supportive friends. “Do I even need to ask what you all were doing in that bush?” Suzuki asked once he turned to look back at your group, an amused look in his eyes.

While you and Yuki fumbled to come up with a response, Fuyuhiko, ever the sly talker, spoke up. "We were just making sure everything was going... smoothly. But you look like you have things handled here, so,” he wrapped an arm around your shoulder and began to collectively shoo your group away. “We’ll be taking our leave now.”

The rest of your group, relieved by his quick thinking and smooth talk, quickly followed his cue and began to retreat. Yuki was pouting a bit, clearly still not completely over her embarrassment. Akihiko pushed his glasses up, his expression neutral as usual. Akui was simply following Yuki as he gently patted her back to reassure her from her embarrassment.

You couldn’t help but glance back ever so often as your group retreated, Fuyuhiko’s arm mostly forgotten. “Looks like things are going well between them, right?” you nervously said to no one in particular.

Fuyuhiko chuckled while nodding in agreement. “Yep. I’d say our work here is done.”

You couldn’t help the lighthearted scoff that escaped you. “Your hard work?” you questioned with a bemused expression as you nudged his side with your elbow. “I’ve been busy all week trying to set those two up.” The light banter allowed for you to momentarily forget about your worries regarding their date tomorrow, which was technically the date marked for Suzuki’s death.

Yuki was too moppy to really notice your close proximity to Fuyuhiko, but Akihiko was more than lucid enough to see it. He wasn’t sure what this tight feeling was as he watched you interact with the school’s notorious womanizer. Surely you weren’t falling for his same old tricks like every other girl, you were much too smart for that… right?

“Ha, come on, I know I only just joined the Emi x Suzuki ship, but I did my part,” Fuyuhiko replied, unbothered and rather amused by your jab.

Akihiko, meanwhile, continued to discreetly watch your interaction with Fuyuhiko, feeling an unfamiliar tightness in his chest. It was a strange feeling, one he hadn't experienced before. He couldn't quite place it, but it was there, and it only seemed to strengthen as he observed your easy banter with the flirtatious boy next to you. Were you and Fuyuhiko always this close? You both have started interacting more ever since your slip in the bathroom, perhaps that’s when the closeness started.

Before Akihiko could think about it anymore, Yuki seemed to recover and quickly went to catch up with you and Fuyuhiko, leaving behind Akui as she gently broke the two apart. Gentle only for your sake.

“Do I need to always remind you to not be so touchy with her? She’s much too innocent to see your true intentions!” As usual, Yuki stressed with a huff as she effectively broke the closeness between you and Fuyuhiko. On the other hand, Akihiko's eyes lingered on you for a moment longer before he silently followed after the group, his earlier pensive expression replaced by his usual neutral one.

The blond flirt managed to keep up his usual charming smile, but there was an unnoticeable tightness to it now, the slightest hint of frustration in his features. “What intentions? I’m simply bantering with a friend, is that so wrong?”

Yuki scoffed. “You don’t have female friends that are just 'friends'.”

Sensing the rising tension, you quickly came up with a conversation changer. “Yuki! I, uh, just realized that you never joined a club. I’m sorry, you’ve been so busy helping me and Emi that I forgot.”

Yuki, caught off guard by your sudden subject change, looked at you in surprise. A pout formed on her face. “Oh…you’re right.” she admitted, her voice tinged with a hint of disappointment. “I guess we’ve been so busy that I forgot,” she spoke again glumly

“Do you think there’s still time to join one?” you asked, placing a hand on her shoulder.

“Not likely,” Akihiko finally spoke up.

Yuki quietly huffed. “I see four eyes is still here…” She mumbled quietly under her breath causing you to nudge her.

Akihiko’s eyebrow twitched as he resisted the urge to roll his eyes. “As I was saying, since it’s already the end of the fourth week since school started, many club advisors tend to deny late requests since it’ll be hard to get the new members to catch up.”

“Man, guess I really won’t get to join a club this year.” Yuki bemoaned.

“Excuse me, did you say you were looking for a club to join!?” A chipperly excited voice suddenly said as a short girl dashed in front of Yuki.

“Woah!! Oh My Goodness Where'd You Come Out From?!?” Yuki shrieked, jumping back slightly in surprise. Your whole group actually looked surprised.

“I couldn’t help but overhear you mention you’re looking for a club to join,” said the very short girl with long, messy hair, and who had large brown eyes that were hidden behind her round framed glasses. “Well look no further!” she announced.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to hear that you recognized this girl. She was none other than the club leader of the failing photography club, Hayashi Anju, a side character that many tended to forget about or found to be just plain annoying when playing the game. She acted more as an assistant and guide for the player who was only found in the photography clubroom. That clubroom acted as a home base for the player whose game mechanic acted as the place to store in-game pictures and story evidence.

“The photography club is alway open to new members!”

A/n: Whew, finally got this chapter out. Not much happened but we did get a new minor character as well as some stiring emotions in both Fuyuhiko and Akihiko. My hearted flutteres writing Emi and Suzuki, just love those two so much. Also, I don't know if you can tell, but judging by the fact that each chapter is taking longer and longer to get published I can confidently say I am starting to feel some sort of burn out. Like I said awhile back, I'm wanting to go on a brief hiatus to prepare for the next stage of my story as well as take a break and go back and edit my previous chapters. It has only recently occured to me that I've been writing non stop since February when I published this book, and before that I was working on the first chapter since last november. I am so proud of what I've wrote and accomplished but I think I am deserving of a break. I'll probably be back in about two months, maybe? I'm not too sure yet, but I'll definitly be back to writing before the end of November. I'll publish the 400 heart once we reach that milestone and then that will mark the official start of my hiatus. Guess ya'll guys will have to wait till late november to read about the date between Emi and Suzuki. Till then, I hope everyone continues to take care of their heath and enjoy life, see you all again when I'm back.

Fun-fact #4: The feelings Emi has for Suzuki can be summarized by one song. A song called 'I Do Adore' by Mindy Glendhil. I was listening to it the other day and the whole time I was like "This is Emi in a nutshel," lol. It really captures the image I have for Emi and her affections for Suzuki, summarizing her emotions perfectly.
