Hi there again! I was the anon who asked for your ideas of TeruKane in the monster nursery au which is, again, lovely and amazing! I simply love how you expanded this au and adore the conclusion(?) of how Teru and Akane managed to live out the fullest of their lives and be together until Akane's death! The last part of Teru still wearing the wedding ring was unexpected and angst yet a great bittersweet one since Akane was a human, after all.

I saw it! ooooh! I'm so excited as well! It's gonna be so much fun! Can't wait to see Researcher T & little monster Nene-chan animated!! I love the whole AU in general, so seeing it animated is really great news!

Let me share a little thing connected to this pleasant announcement with you, Anon! I've had this little dream of having wizard Tsukasa (he's my top 1 of all the AUs Tsukasa so far/forever it seems. haha) animated before, hear his voice, see all his mischief, enjoy all his glory, but never thought highly of it... since there is no way we will get a twitter event animated. Oh, how wrong I was! While I didn't get the one I hoped for, Researcher T is one of my top favorite Tsukasa! It's so cool to have animated! I will enjoy his glory to its fullest! Can't wait for the episode to be out!!!

Just wanted to point out something about Mitsuba and Nene’s monster designs

So very obviously all of them follow their researcher’s color schemes, with Mitsuba being red, Nene purple, and Mokke yellow. But another thing to take note of is about their tails

Mitsuba has a spades symbol at the end of his tail

And Nene has a flame

i like the idea of teru wrapping his wings around akane when he kisses him... also his tail around akane's like as a subtle protective gesture but he doesnt even realize he's doing it. kinda like a dog tail but he doesnt know how to feel when its compared to that

also akane's easily flustered and pushes teru away because of his affection all the time like it's so . Gay nd he has to get used to it first

Thank you for bringing the monster nursery AU to my attention! This was one of the most fun AUs to come up with ideas for!!

Here are a few loose headcanons for it :D

Dragons don’t cry, but since he was raised with humans, kid Teru used to make sad sounds and pout to show his distress and call his caretaker's attention. After they died the habit slowly died with it, nowadays when Teru is sad, he’ll lower his ears and wings, if the distress is particularly high he’ll curl his tail around his feet as well. He mostly tries not to look affected. 

When Teru shed scales, he gives them to Sakura, who sells it to sustain the nursery. The prices are far higher than most would expect, so they don’t make it public.

Sakura is the only ‘person’ alive from Teru’s childhood, and while they have grown a bit distant once Teru grew into an independent adult, there is comfort in having a constant in their long lives, they make sure to have regular tea parties even if they don't have anything to say, staying in comfortable silence.

Teru brings Akane to one of Sakura's tea parties, the two get along well, but any joy Teru was feeling turns into embarrassment when Sakura shares his baby pictures. Akane finds the pictures adorable, but he enjoys Teru embarrassement more, very rarely getting to see the dragon blush and flap his wings, clearly flustered.

Usually, Teru is very chill, but if he smells another monster on Akane (not all workers are humans, sometimes he might need to work with other monsters) Teru will become possessive. He doesn’t want to be obvious about it, too prideful to even ask if the monster touched Akane, so he’ll wait until their work is over to drag Akane to his bed and make sure the smell completely goes away.

Akane is blind as a bat, Teru tried to wear his glasses once and got a headache.

Akane only sleeps near people he trusts, even if he is dying from exhaustion, he will not pass out near a stranger by sheer force of stubbornness.

Akane is awkward, so he wants to keep the pda to a minimum at first, but once he gets used to love, comfortable about ‘being irrational’ for the sake of making Teru happy, he is very clingy. Hopelessly romantic and assertive too, usually being the one to kiss Teru every time they cross paths and gushing about how much he loves his boyfriend to anyone willing.

When they get married the two call each other “my husband” and Akane always cracks a smile when saying it. Teru try to pretend he isn’t just as sappy but his tail straight up wags when Akane calls him "husband!”

When Akane dies Teru keeps wearing his wedding ring.
