If I had a nickle for everytime a character voiced by Ben Diskin was best friends with a character voiced by Bryce Papenbrook and also had a turtle theme, I'd have two nickles which isn't alot but it's weird it happened twice.

by Yohei☆Kameyama 3D tool: blender SE: OtoLogic English Translation: David Dunlap I really enjoy this clear and lavish love letter to 80's anime. The way the passing lights of the endless road pass them by is really lovely. Yohei☆Kameyama's description "In the galaxy far far far away, there is an interplanetary road called Milky☆Highway. To kill time during a weekend, Makina the cyborg and Chiharu the super human decide to go for a drive. Wherever those troublesome friends drive, there is always a danger! Not smart, not tear-jerking, not touching. The only two words that can describe this discount cyberpunk story is Speedy and Unprecedented!!"

[Kikyō] Platycodon grandiflorus
Basically, there is no specific color for family crests, which are still used in monochrome in the main. But the crest of Kikyō used by 明智光秀[Akechi Mitsuhide], the samurai general of the Warring States Era (Late 15C to late 16C), was colored light blue. This was very rare at that time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akechi_clan

On the first day of the sixth month, after nightfall, at Kameyama (castle) in Tanba Province, Akechi Koretō Hyūga-no-kami Mitsuhide plotted a treachery, summoned Akechi Samanosuke (Mitsutada), Akechi Jiemon (Hidemitsu), Fujita Dengo (Yukimasa) and Saitō Kuranosuke (Toshimitsu; Kasuga-no Tsubone's father), held a strategy meeting, hatched a secret scheme to kill Oda Nobunaga and become the leader of the country. "We are supposed to go from Kameyama to the Chūgoku region over Mikusayama, but turn back here and turn all the horses' heads to the east, ascend Oinoyama, and head from Yamazaki through the land of Settsu Province", decided so and informed all the troops of this, and he commanded those who had the meeting to lead the spearhead squad. From 信長公記[Shinchōkō-ki|Nobunagakō-ki] by 太田 牛一[Oota Gyūichi] Source: https://dl.ndl.go.jp/pid/781194/1/48 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinchō_Kōki
Written on the next section after the above is the famous "Honnō-ji Incident". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honnō-ji_Incident
How would the beautiful light blue Kikyō banners that would have fluttered around the temple have looked in Nobunaga's eyes?

HGSN 23-3
Chapter (Japanese)
(Please hit the green thumbs up at the end of the chapter to show support)
Rough translation by me
P1
Hikaru: (I don't remember, but had I been on the mountain since then?)
Asako: Hmmmm, what a strange story
Maki: Maybe the reason Hikaru went missing on Nisayama is also 'cause of "Unuki-san"
Yuuki: Hah? There's no way there's a god like that
Maki: Who knows? It might be closer to you than you think. Spoooky
Hikaru: Hey what if...
P2
Hikaru: What if it really was right nearby, what would you do?
Hikaru: Like, if it had replaced one of us
Yoshiki: Wha-
Maki: Huh? You'd notice something like that right away!
Maki: And I'd say "Go back to the mountain!!" and make it leave
Asako: Y-yeah...
Yuuki: Thinking about that is scary... but this sort of thing usually slips up in the end and ends up returning to its original place, right?
P3
Hikaru: ...Oh, huh~.....
Yoshiki: A-anyway, Maki, how come you know all that?
Maki: Oh? My big bro's a huge occult nerd. He's studying folklore at a university in Tokyo now.
Yoshiki: (Uronuki-sama, Unuki-san, next is ... Nounuki-sama?)
Yoshiki: Can you ask him a question for me over MINE*?
Yoshiki: What happened to Unuki-san after that?
* messaging app LINE
P4
Maki: Lemme see
Maki: He replied!
(from: Big Bro)
(stamp: Leave it to me!)
Maki: Big bro's replies are quick as always
Maki: "By the time the village was divided (around 1700), belief in Unuki-san had long since disappeared."
Maki: "But, for some reason it was rumored in that feudal domain that interfering in that area would get you cursed"
Maki: "Because there was little interference, the believers of another religion fleeing oppression settled there
Maki: "That religion gained a footing there, and so even today, Kibougayama has a lot of churches." ... that's what he says.
P5
Maki: But hey
Maki: If you're wanting to know this kind of stuff, are you an occult nerd too!?
Yoshiki: Uh, yeah...that
Yoshiki: (The belief had disappeared?)
Yoshiki: (Is that really true?)
Yoshiki: (What if it didn't disappear, but changed?)
Yoshiki: (It's common for names to change. Suppose this kind of shift occured:)
(txt: Uronuki→Unuki→Nounuki)
Yoshiki: (But they didn't offer heads to "Unuki-san")
Yoshiki: (When did it shift to worship of "Nounuki-sama" where they started to offer it heads?)
P6
Yoshiki: (And worship continued in secret...)
Yoshiki: (The division of the village is probably also related to those beliefs)
Yoshiki: (But in 1749, with the mass deaths, Nounuki-sama became a tatarigami)
Yoshiki: (To the villagers who had lost what they had depended on, a new religion appeared and established a foothold...and "Nounuki-sama" was forgotten...)
Yoshiki: (If that's the case, then why does "Nounuki-sama" worship still remain in only Kubitachi?)
P7
Yoshiki: (Uncle Kameyama's family originally moved here from Kibougayama)
Yoshiki: (Thinking about it, there's almost no families who adhere to that religion in Kubitachi)
Yoshiki: (The other villages were freed from "Nounuki-sama", but Kubitachi wasn't)
Yoshiki: (Because the Indou family needed to do something to settle matters...?)
(sfx: pencil scratch)
P8
(txt:
Long ago: Village was created
"Unuki-san" worship started
Became "Nounuki-sama" worship
around 1700: Village was divided
1749: Mass deaths
"Nounuki-sama" worship ends
Other religion takes hold
But in Kubitachi, "Nounuki-sama" worship continued
)
Yoshiki: (It's a hypothesis, but even knowing this now, what do we do...?)
??: Hey, Yoshiki

Next chapter: 2024/01/09
Twitter Extra (link):
Yoshiki: That means during this era... If that's the case, then this makes sense....(mutters)
Hikaru: Yoshiki, you're smart~. Should I think about something too?
Yoshiki: (mutter mutter mutter)
Hikaru: ...

Happy New Year!
To quickly recap:
Uronuki (うろぬき) - a real term meaning thinning out (of plants or seedlings), or euphemistically to refer to infanticide. Here, it refers to the mercury based pills that were used for abortion.
Unuki (うぬき or ウヌキ) - A name for a being on the mountain, Nisayama, derived from the previous term as a local euphemism
Nounuki (ノウヌキ) - A name seemingly derived from the previous term. If "Nou" is parsed to mean "Brain", this name can be interpreted as "Brainsnatcher" (this is the localized name used by the scans)
