“This must be the place,” Kai said to himself looking up at the expensive-looking apartment building. He gripped the bag of food tighter “you got this kamal” he said before walking in.

*knock knock* Kai stood in front of the door waiting for an answer. ‘I shouldn’t have come’ he thought nearly turning to run away but the sound of the door unlocking made him freeze in his tracks. “Kai?” A voice said, Kai looked and saw you peeking through a small opening in the door but something wasn’t right at all. “Hey” he smiled softly as you opened the door to let him in.

The tall man stepped into the fancy apartment, it was big but felt empty with cold walls and white tile floors. “Woah you rich or something?” Kai half-joked which earned an empty chuckle from you. “I guess you can say that” you walled in front of him “thanks for the food but I'm not that hungry, you can put it on the table” you walked away to the large L-shaped couch. Kai watched you as he set the bag on the glass table; you wore a large gray hoodie that made you look tiny, your h/c hair messily peeking out from the hood, and your eyes were puffy. He slowly approached the couch “I was thinking we can watch a movie or a terrible dating show” you said turning on the large tv that was mounted on the wall. “There's this one about hot moms dating each other's sons-” you ranted looking over at Kai but he just stared at you causing you to freeze

“What?” You asked he shook his head and sat downs on the couch a good distance away. “What's on your mind?” He asked has your mouth stood agape “m-my mind?” He nodded turning his body towards you. “Y/n I know something is wrong” he claimed, ���why say that?” You asked yet all he did was shrug in response. “I know this might sound crazy and all but you’re not as slick as you think you are; at least not to me” he said. You stared at him “so you can tell me what’s wrong” your eyes began to fill with water and you smiled causing a tear to fall. “I-I’m sorry!” Kai freaked out but you quickly waved him off “how can you always do that” you laughed as more tears fell “w-well” “you’re always reading me, I’m not good at fooling you” you brought your knees up to your chest.

Kai sat awkwardly while you silently cried “I was scared” you said quietly looking up at him “I've never done this before you know” “pretend to be someone’s girlfriend?” Kai smiled but you shook your head “being somebody’s girlfriend in general”. Kai's eyebrows furrowed “but what about that guy in high school?” Kai blurted out, you looked at him stunned “high school? Wait did you know-“ “no! It um… a girl like you would’ve had someone in high school I guess” he tried to explain but it just made you more confused “I didn’t, well it was nothing official I liked him a lot and I thought he liked me but he was dating another girl while we’re talking” you picked at your nail polish embarrassed. Kai remembers that time in high school everyone was shocked that you and Yeonjun stood friends. “Like I was saying I’ve never been someone’s girlfriend and I didn’t know what that entailed and the more I thought about it,” you rambled putting your hands on your head “I don’t know what to do Kai”. “You don’t have to act all lovey-dovey you can just be yourself, right now we’re supposed to getting to know each other, plus our friends think we’ve been dating for nearly a month” Kai scooted closeted “there’s no way I’d have the courage to even hold your hand” he laughed making you smile. “I guess I was overthinking it” you laughed too he shook his head “you weren’t plus the best relationship is when your partner feels like your best friend” you nodded in agreement “now I heard your stomach rumble earlier,” Kai stood up you blushed embarrassed “you did?” He nodded “so ima bring the McDonald’s so we can eat something while we watch terrible dating shows, what did you say about hot moms again?” He asked raising his eyebrows you laughed.

He is such a horrible fucking person - the way he treats all the women (chasing the wife down and grabbing her angrily repeatedly, then the same with the assistant, especially that 'beach' scene after she meets with the guy that I think was the brother in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander), the way he acts in general, the way he's willing to openly cheat on his wife in her/their house with her assistant, without any worry about getting caught. Starting the movie with a flashback (fuck that!) maybe was meant to make him a bit more sympathetic - and yes, this is 90s Bollywood so a lot of movies had creepy, harmful men as the leads - but it fails miserably, because he's an ass. Money-loving ass. Not just an asshole (him, and her - the wife her), but also a complete idiot. Fuck he's such a dick of a person with the grabbing and yelling of every single lady in the movie. Even with less than 30 minutes left, I was so tempted to turn it off because it's just so fucking unnecessary. And then that fucking slap. What the fuck you fucking asshat.

And while his wife is played off as a overly suspicious, constantly yelling and doubting and mistrusting lady, him killing her is not justified.

Also, not only does his plan suck (and is not deserving of the dramatic "and then I got an idea" moment that the movie gives us), but it's also like - really, really sucky. An accident, fine - but he preempts that by attacking her multiple times and beating her on the head? That's gonna show up in an autopsy, bro - burnt or not.

The twist with Deepa Sahi's character was good, even if predictable. Kamal Sidhu got saddled with a really horrible character - which I guess was the point, but like, yikes (also, I think that's her in the movie poster, which is crazy cuz I don't think she picks up a gun the entire movie). Rich and spoilt and needy and horribly mistrusting, sure, but also like - so much yelling. Ritu Shivpuri shows up for a second, then disappears for most of the movie after giving him the initial plan - because suddenly he falls in love with someone else and she becomes irrelevant. Until she shows up again at the end, because she's the only female he hasn't abused yet - so he has to get that in (like, all the others, for not fault of her own, other than just existing in his life).

There's a random-ass scene where an off-screen cat meows. So fucking random. There hasn't been a cat in the house, or the entire movie. Except that scene. Also, a horrible computer graphic final sequence to cap it all off.

Anu may have also been a bad person, and Veena clearly had some flaws, but them (and Julie, and Anil) all deserved better than what they got.

This story could've been so much better if he wasn't such an ass. Even if you want to play him as a morally gray character, or even just full=on bad character, the constant physical abuse of literally every woman in his life is just fucking unnecessary. He's such a fucked up horrible person. Not recommended for anyone with a moral compass/with the slightest belief that you shouldn't treat everyone in your life like shit (I get it's some sort of 'dark' or 'morally gray character as the lead' film, but you can do that without making him an abusive asshat).

[ ID: Fanart done in traditional medium, uncolored, with pencil and slightly rough sketching. It's a comic of the game Smile For Me featuring in part 2, Kamal Bora and Dr.Habit living together. The panels alternate colors between cool blue, warmer red and orange tones and gray because of how they were photographed.

The designs have canon style but the changes in the artists interpretation are as follows. Kamal has a lot of acne, eyebags and thick brows. For this comic his hair is in a ponytail and he casually wears sleeveless top with sweatpants. Habit has the most change- Here he has a muppet-like appearance with fur, longer hair, cheek patches with a splash of freckles, stitches and scars on hands plus an X shaped one near his mouth. His teeth are uneven with a bigger snaggletooth too. His long coat is made of some soft, scratchy material and it's collar is bush-like with feathery parts holding flowers.

The comics part 2 starts with a textbox announcing in the SpongeBob Narrator voice," An unspecified time later" in allcaps. Habit stands tall and smug, smirking as he points a hand to his head in mock pity, "Oh Kamochka.. always so gullible to my charms.( he says all this in a singsong) And I did not even DO anything this time.. I was just STANDING there~" he says, speaking all throughout with characteristic spelling errors. Kamal simply rolls his eyes in response, holding a mug of coffee.

He leans back, one little finger on the table as he takes a long sip. " SO..."

He sits upfront, glaring straight at Habit with a full grin and folded-up hands clutching each other set on the table, mug kept aside. There is a hint of playfulness. " H. O. W. " He asks.

Habit yet again micheviously folds his hands, angled up to his face, and smiles wide like a cat, eyes closed-- like his ingame smug pose. A characteristic emote is shown with a face resembling the same expression. " Now, Now... That's not how you treat a gentle-puppet..." A simplified chatbubble with a small Kamal face is seen, he looks unfazed. He says," what do you want."

Habit turns his head slightly and presses a finger into one cheek, brushing up the fur on it. He slightly winks as he states, " Cold. " Kamal responds openly jovially Now, raising his brow in a light exasperation as he replies, "SIGHH OK come here!!"

He warms Habit's cheeks in the next panel by kissing the spot. Habit in turn holds his back, leaning down a bit. They look serene with hearts drawn all around and a light swirling shape. Kamal is noted to be 'on the kissing stool'.

Kamal smiles lopsidedly, hand resting contendly on a cheek leaning to one side as he holds his mug once again, " No "Thank you, honey" for lil ol' me...?". Habit is beside him, flapping his hands fast in an infectious happiness. A smile emote is next to him.

Next panel is a sequence with solely simplified small faces in chatbubbles. Habits face is drawn egg like while Kamals is a rectangle, both have dot eyes. Habit knowingly asks, preening over it, " What was that? You want me to call you HONEY?" Kamal smiles somewhat awkwardly in his confused response, "No- I mean, yes, I mean, N-- " he cuts himself off, " You've been calling me that for YEAARS!!" Habit giggles, hand over mouth, " Oh, hum...for YEARS?... Like we're...( he pauses and exagerrates this with a wavy underline) married?" Kamal has clouds of steam coming off him now as he puffs up, very embarrassed. A bunch of exclamation marks come from him. Habit finally stops teasing him and smiles a bit as he says, "...Thank you honey. You can stop heating like boil egg now..."

Then we go back to the regular artstyle. Habit looks up as he scoffs with a signature crooked smile, putting his palms out in a way that expresses what he says " I literally lived through Forsaw and Bahd... You can NOT trick me. ANYWAY"

He looks to the viewers side as his smile becomes wider, angling a hand up to one eye as if to make a focusing-the-eye-on-you gesture. His other hand unscrew out one of his glass eyeballs. " I guess you could say,..." End ID]

Right...let's go panel by panel like before, friend!

Panel 1: THE NICKNAMESSSS You bet Kamal calls him " DAWL ( Doll )" as well, hey he has the accent for it!! Doll eyes....

Oh, and Kamochka is a diminutive of Kamal's name taken from the Russian tradition of casual diminutives! The -ka suffix is intimate and for very close relations. It implies smallness in a loving way as well, this is what I recall.

Panel 4: UwU

Panel 6: Making up for that rude scare, heheehe. Anyone remember that Dirty Dancing draw I did of them where Kamal reached up to him through, like, those wheeled gym scooter things? Fuckin asshole, always making Kamal feel short HAKSKSJS So, so many silly ways to Smooch the Habit.

Panel 8: HAHA I flirted with myself to come up with this dialogue in the DEAD OF NIGHT so even though this part is awkward IMO I hope you appreciate the beautiful self-love of me DROPPING PICK UP LINES ON MYSELF

Also nah, they're not Actually married. Yet. Or never. They just ended up kind of acciDENTally living together. Best Bros and sometimes husbands even.

Panel 9: You can NAWWTTT TRICK (❓️‼️❓️( prominent red exclamation marks and question marks emojis)) HIM

ETC.... TBH I forgot that naïveity of his when I drew this, maybe in this AU he's a Little More Fortified TM due to the ragdoll twins Forsaw and Bahd( fandom OCs with my own spin on them!!) but you can still Totes Jape Him DW he just got lucky HAKSKSJS The twins would say so anyway ; ) ( winky emote)

Panel 10: HHHHH-

Yup! His body parts are detachable. They're in pretty tight though so I don't advise removing them without um, asking him, LOL.

Plus they could crawl back to him and now that would be Ough....for you🥸 ( disguised emoji with big moustache and glasses indicating amusement here )
