Never Had by BlindRadiant

Rated Teen, 1500 words, Kalami/Navani (one-sided) After the Battle of Narak, Teleb is dead. Now, Kalami only has Navani. But maybe not in the way she hopes.

Kalami didn’t know what to do, now that Teleb was gone. He had been her rock - someone she could always rely on when everything else was falling to pieces. But now, he wasn’t there to shore her up. She sought refuge in study and research, but nothing could rid her of the gaping abyss left by Teleb’s death.

Her work suffered because of her grief. She knew she needed to keep going. She was supposed to be recording historical events that would be remembered and studied by countless scholars, of various fields, for generations to come. She just...couldn’t care. Her loss was too pervasive to be ignored. She’d known this could have happened when she’d married a soldier, of course. She’d met and interacted with many widows over the years. She knew the costs of war as well as anyone who had never fought on a battlefield herself. She simply hadn’t been prepared for the sheer impact of having a fundamental part of her suddenly torn away. Her daily life faded into a haze. Everything seemed distant, dim, unimportant. That changed when Navani approached her one day. “May I speak with you alone, Kalami?” Navani asked, her voice low and unexpectedly gentle. “Yes, Brightness,” Kalami said automatically. Surprisingly, Navani wrapped her safearm around Kalami’s shoulders and led her away. The gesture was usually reserved for family members or close friends. A long-buried emotion sparked momentarily, briefly piercing through the shroud of grief that had encompassed Kalami’s world as of late. She allowed Navani to lead her away from the room filled with other scholars, scribes, and engineers going about their work.

Truthflower Wine by cosmere play

Rated Explicit, 600 words. Fic under the cut:

It’s happened often enough now that it’s practically routine: Teleb treating her with extra attention and care the in the days leading up to the visit; Kadash giving Kalami her favourite little bottle of truthflower wine, accompanied by a kiss on the cheek; Kalami playing music after dinner. Kalami knew of their affair before her marriage to Teleb, and had taken it on as a part of Teleb himself. At first she'd thought it would be a burden to bear willingly. She hadn’t realized just how much she’d grow to cherish it as part of her own life.

She settled down on a plush sofa in the living room, other furniture moved away to make room for Kadash and Teleb to spar. They made boasts at each other about their prowess, pretending to vie for Kalami’s favour. They had Kalami judge their musculature, teasing each other the whole time (Teleb won, of course). Then they forgot all about her as the contest began.

Not that Kalami minded. She poured a glass of the sweet wine and sipped it delicately as the two men grappled, stripped down to their underclothes. Within a minute or so, her dear husband forgot he was Teleb and became pure brute force, caught up in the challenge. Kadash, though, always stayed present, perhaps knowing all too well that he was a guest in their house. Or, perhaps, the way that war that broken him had taken away his ability to lose himself in a fight.

That usually gave Teleb the advantage. Her husband was driven and focused, and he needed the win more. Kalami smiled to think of her husband taking so much pride in his prowess even when he wasn’t wearing Kholin blue. Even when the win meant…well…

The wine was done, and Kalami could feel herself affected by the men straining and sweating in front of her. They did such a wonderful job of making it feel like she was a queen overseeing a private duel. She lifted her skirts and slid a hand discreetly underneath, gathering the wetness that had grown during the bout. She started circling her own prize, drawing up the pleasure that had begun spreading through her lower body.

As Kalami watched and touched herself, Teleb had gotten Kadash into a hold, Kadash’s face pressed into the rug, and his ass in the air. Teleb made short work of the last of Kadash’s clothes. From here on in, their language was simple grunts and huffs and moans, the sounds reverberating through the emptied room.

Teleb took Kadash roughly, thrusting deep and fast, biting Kadash’s shoulder possessively. Kadash would have bruises tomorrow under his ardent’s robes, and it was Teleb who’d done it. Teleb who needed this animalistic sex, who needed to rake his fingernails across someone’s skin, who looked so alive as he fucked, his long black hair sticking to his forehead. Kadash who wanted Teleb to take him.

And Kalami who loved to watch them.

She came quickly, making a mess of her inner skirts, her body jerking in silent agreement with the handsome men fucking on the floor in front of her. As soon as she finished, she slipped out of the room.

As much as she loved to watch those two fuck, and as much as they wanted her to watch, what happened after they fucked was just between them.

Later, as he always did, Teleb would slip into her bed and hold her like she was an anchor in the storm. He never told her why tears sometimes streaked his face, just as he never told her about his life during the unification war. She was just glad he had someone who understood.

الدوام اليوم منيح، اقترحت فكرة بتزيد الأرباح وعجبت الدكتورة ونفّذناها. وصلنا كريم مرطب ليلي، واكتشفت انو العلبة بتعمل صوت مميز قصة سخيفة بس أنا مهووسة بأصوات الأشياء وبحب المس واسمع واكتشف الإشيا كيف صوتا. شي إضافي إني ما درست غير صفحة وحافظتها بصم، الفرق بين الأدوية الناهضة والمناهضة. وحضرت نص حديث TED Stanford عن تصميم الحياة او هيك شي (هيك شي!! Whattt!) متأكدة انو عن كيف منصمم حياتنا. نصحت عمر يصير ياخد فيتامين دال، وحكالي انو واثق فيني. اتفقنا أنا وورد نتمشى اليوم بس اعتذر باللحظة الأخيرة لأن حاسس انو لازم يضل لحاله. عزمتني عمتي عالقهوة ورحت عندا. برد كثير يا تمبلر.. ريح قوي وبيخوّف، أنا ما بحب هالجو أبداً. حكيت مع باسل، وباسل بيحكيلي كثير انو بيحبني، بس أنا ما بفهم كيف منقدر نقول بحبك لأي حدا حتى لو ما منعرفو، وهو قال انو ما بدو يعرفني، بدو يحبني وبس. أحااا.. بس بفكر إنو أنا كمان بحب الناس من دون ما أعرفهم وهيك كل شخص بعرفو حتى لو من بعيد بقدر شوف فيه شي من هالحياة يعني بحسهم بيمثلوا شي حلو وعظيم بالحياة فبحبهم، يعني عادي أنا بحب البشر بسبب ومن دون سبب، يعني الدنيا شو مستاهلة بالله حتى ما نحب هالبشر ومنهم نحب حالنا. ورغم التعب والهم والقهر كل ما نحب رح يتغير شي. باسل بيقول "الحب قادر يجعلنا سعداء أو حزينين بدرجة أقل". وكمان باسل بيعرف انو كل ما قلي بحبك رح اضحك، وأنا ما بعرف بس صعب احكيها لحدا اذا ما كنت بعنيها فعلاً، يعني في كثير طرق من دون ما قول بحبك، أنا مجنونة بس الكلمة كثير بتعنيلي، المهم انو على طول بعد ما يبعتها، بيحكيلي "ابتسمي." أو بيسأل "ابتسمتي؟" هههه المهم منكمل، إني عم اسمع يسرى الهواري ورح أحطلك بالآخر كل الأغاني لتسمعهم معي، وبدي قول إني بحبا ليسرى كثير ومرات بنسى لفترة طويلة اسمعها بس لما بينزل علي هالشعور وبكون على هيئة انو فجأة بتشتغل اغنية او لحن براسي وبصير ارقص، فبرجع ليسرى وبحس إني بأعلى مراحل الراحة والخفة وقادرة أواجه العالم ونستمتع سوا. شو بعد؟ ليش دخلك عم اكتبلك هيك من دون فواصل او شي؟ كل الأحاديث ورا بعض؟ لأن هيك جاي عبالي يا تمبلر. بكرا عندي دوام بالجامعة، وعرفت انو في تدقيق زيادة عالحواجز، وأزمة المواصلات بالشام لساتها متل ما هي. يووووه خبرتك فادي مختفي؟ رغم انو اتفقنا نلتقي بس فجأة قفل كل شي واختفى، ومش قادرة وقف ضحك كل ما بفكر، ما علينا انشالله يكون بخير ومعلش مش مهم الباقي. حضرت اليوم شوية من حلقة رسائل من فوق الاسطح او هيك شي بس ما كملتا، ياخي نحنا البنات لما نحب ما أحلانا والله. صار ضروري كملها بع�� حديث الليلة هههه. أخدت شاور، وتاركة شعري ينشف لحاله لأن ما في كهربا، وعلى سيرة فيه وما فيه، اليوم بالصيدلية خلصنا مي.. الحارة كلها مخلصة مي، وبالبيت خلصنا غاز. يا سلام على الدنيا شو واو!

اليوم بالصدفة في حدا كان مشارك tu vuo' fa' l'americano وسمعتا كثير ورقصت، وبفضلها تعدل مزاجي، لأن اليوم الصبح بدل ما أدرس قعدت ساعات صافنة وعم فكر بحياتي وبقصصي ولوين رايحة وشو بدي وشو المفروض اعمل وحسيت هم ونزل على قلبي، بس الموسيقا طوق نجاة فوري. الكلارينيت هون عظيييييييييم!!!!

وهلق بس، بدي أدرس، واستنى الكهربا تجي وعم اشرب متة وبتوقع إني حكيتك بكل شي طلع براسي

Favorite thing I wrote today:

For the most part, the meal passed quickly, save for small talk. No, he didn’t have any plans to open a stall in the Market District, and Kalami, the stew was the best he’d ever had, and no, he already had plans for Wyrd’s Watch, but he was flattered they invited him, and Ven was doing quite well, thanks for asking.

I really like how it flows. I don’t think I need to explain why it’s my favorite every time I do these. I just like this bit.
