Kamiya stopped short, having almost run into another pair of first year students who had decided to stop in the middle of the hallway to rehearse like a couple of fucking morons, oblivious to the stream of students parting around them as they ran through lines. Fucking seriously? “Don’t just stand there in the middle of the hallway,” Kamiya snapped. Didn’t they have a training room somewhere?! “Oh, sorry!!” The tall one yelped. Tall, but nowhere near as tall as Chui-san. And obviously a hell of a lot stupider and louder. Kamiya winced. Taking up the whole hallway and being that loud? He would almost feel sorry for the class this jerk was in, if he had the energy to give a shit. “Jeez, you’re loud. Can’t you adjust your volume or something?” The tall loud one made some sort of whimper of protest and Kakuto chuckled. “Utsuri, don’t get in the way of their practice. They’re trying their hardest. Heh heh…” Kamiya was about to point out that maybe they shouldn’t be practicing in the damn hallway, because in fact they are the ones that are getting in the way, when the loud one spoke again. “Kamiya and Momonashi… You were the double Al Jeannes for the newcomer's performance.” Kamiya looked at him with mild surprise. Well, maybe people make a point to remember your name when you’re one of Amber’s Al Jeannes. One of Amber’s Al Jeannes who had lost them the gold class award for the first time in a year. Why'd he have to bring up that instead of the clearly awesome homecoming performance? Asshole. Rage and embarrassment throbbed through Kamiya’s chest, but he stood a little straighter and lifted his chin. He wasn’t going to show weakness that would give this idiot any opening to mock him. He knew how to handle guys like this. “Yeah. And what about you?” Kamiya asked forcefully, turning the question back on the other guy. “You get kicked out into the hallway because you’re so loud?”

This match is one of the greatest matches i have ever seen, the complete physicality from two tag team partners beating the shit out of each other, just from the dragon screw Abe does to Nomura my god all mighty.

God out of your way to watch this match.

Oh hell yeah we finally got Quartz’s big finale performance of the year! Sissia of the Central Nation!

Just from the short snippet Neji gave this play sounds right up my alley!!! Two countries at odds after a long war, the losing nation oppressed by the winner and treated as less than human, a small group of lovable rogues who despise the discrimination and want to fight back in whatever way they can such as with a love for performance….Ooooooh this one might just overtake Oh Rama Havenna and become my favorite play!

And FUCK YEAH!!!!!!! My baby girl Kisa is the Al Jeanne!!!!!! She gets to play Sissia!!!! Meaning she can stay at Univeil 😭😭😭😭😭 I’m so so so so SO happy for her, she worked so damn hard the whole year and she earned this damn role! Though no as happy as Suzu I guess, boy was sooooo excited to see her dream come true!

Man Suzu was breaking my heart when he was whispering to Kisa about wishing he could stand beside her….only to be told HE is gonna play Chance, the Jack Ace of the play. DOUBLE FUCK YEAH!!!! My sweet babies are gonna be the main leads again!!!! Suzu gets to be a Jack Ace again!!!!!! Suzu was so confused and even upset that he was chosen over any of the older students, even over Sou…But everyone told him flat out HE is the one who was decided to be the best fit. I’m soooo happy for him, he gets another opportunity to show what he can do!

And oooooooh, there’s a kiss scene between Sissia and Chance 👀👀👀 I knew that kiss scene practice stuff wouldn’t go to waste!

And wow it looks like all the classes are following the theme of having first years play lead roles. Onyx has Kasai, Rhodonite has Mare, and Amber has……ugh, Utsuri…..brat’s gonna be insufferable I can already tell….

Recent manga readings: Nyx no Kakutô by Kan Takahama

An historical manga set in the Meiji era and "Belle époque" period (late XIXth to early XXth century), when Japan has started to open its doors to foreign exchanges.

Miyo is a shy orphan girl who has recently lost her father and started living with her aunt and uncle in Nagasaki. Looking for work, she'll get a job at Momotoshi's shop of imported Western products and will get out of her shell and grow up by interacting with coworkers, clients and her new family, as well as by discovering how big the world can be.

The strange and mysterious Momotoshi, who has gone abroad multiple times, is gathering money with this shop for the purpose of opening another one in Paris, this time for Japanese products. He wants to spread in a significant and durable way the culture and arts of his country which, at this time, is starting to gain popularity. But there is also someone from his past he wishes to help...

It's a very sweet story with endearing characters and interesting tidbits of knowledge about the time period, the lives of the people there, what kind of exchanges were made and what attracted curiosity between countries. A few historical figures show up and I was especially interested to learn about Kei Oura, who was a busineswoman who had a huge impact in the development of Japanese's tea exportation. She's an important character in this story and I really enjoyed this imposing old lady!

Takahama's art style is rather classical but pretty charming and expressive. Some of the background with drawings made over photos of real-life places could get a bit jarring occasionally but I really like the way she uses a lot of grey tones (done on the computer) to show textures, volumes and shadows.

The overall story is optimistic and positive but still deals with some heavy topics, like the situation of prostitutes in France and Japan (a subject which is also present in 2 other works from Takahama that share some characters with this one) and the epilogue chapter of the manga is not the happiest one.

three routes down in jackjeanne. heres my verdict on them so far. suzu is obviously hero material but hes so straightforward and earnest that you have to like him! mitsuki ive already mentioned is so definitely not my type but the way the story is laid out really suits his character arc and i really love the focus the second years get in his route! (minorikawa route please please please pl)

i don’t really like sou, he’s super pathetic and he knows it but he’s so wrapped up in his flaws he’s unable to see his relationship with kisa is also super unhealthy. well they mostly fix that, i suppose, but more importantly the casting of hanae natsuki as kakuto is SO inspired like !!! YES !!!! absolute creep, somehow even worse than tanakamigi!!! dude who never stops smiling who is utterly unhinged!!! :^)

(1/5) Lots of Mii names facts coming up! I remember an ask a while ago mentioning the Mii fighter's canon names. I looked it up, and Ken and Sophia, Swordfighter and Gunner respectively, turned out to be Guest B and Guest F (default Miis). The screenshots with the names I ended up finding on supersmashbros(.)fandom(.)com, and they're apparently from Sakurai posting daily pics of SSB4 on Miiverse, November 20th 2014 for Ken, and August 28th 2014 for Sophia

(3/5) The SSBU Mii fighters have names in the game files, too. One source I found (Mii Library site) said their names were かくとうF (Kakuto F) for Brawler, けんじゅつE (Kenjutsu E) for Swordfighter, and しゃげきJ (Shageki J) for Gunner, while another (Wii Facts Plus tumblr) said けんじゅつぅ(Kenjutsu) for Swordfighter and しゃげきお (Shagekio) for Gunner, and still けんじゅつE (Kenjutsu E) for Brawler

(4/5) I don't know know Japanese in the slightest, but those may simply be alternate spellings/phrasings of their official Japanese titles, taking from ssbwiki(.)com, Mii格闘タイプ (Mii kakutō taipu) for Brawler, Mii剣術タイプ (Mii kenjutsu taipu) for Swordfighter, and Mii射撃タイプ (Mii shageki taipu). But again, I know nothing about Japanese, and I'm just using my sources' translations, so I could be completely off

(5/5) And finally, SSBU default Mii Brawler shows up in a screenshot with the name Chris in a tweet from NintendoVS on twitter (Mii Fighter is said, if you want a keyword to search for), though I have no idea if that account is official or not. Anyway I may have hyperfixated on the default Mii fighter names a bit, and being able to share it finally is a great Christmas gift :) /gen (here's hoping none of these get lost to tumblr)
