Marchant Ridge Track
Probably the quickest way to get above the Tararua bushline from Wellington, a return walk to Marchant Ridge made for a decent day out in the hills. It’s only a 45 minute drive from central Wellington to the DOC car park on Kiwi Ranch Road, allowing access into the Kaitoke Regional Park area of the Tararua Ranges. On the way I stopped at the Stuart Macaskill Lakes lookout for early morning still…

Uskok Wellington
Z dużej odległości najłatwiej go zauważyć.
Tumblr media
Tu widok nieco bliżej Wellington, niedaleko naszego domu. Uskok biegnie równolegle do autostrady nr 2. My sami mieszkamy na wzniesieniach utworzonych przez ruchy górotwórcze.
Tumblr media

Enter The Killer
MIAA was in a ruckus.  Nobody even noticed Lino entering. Teachers were guiding the students back to their dorms and the common room. The students were whispering among themselves. They were whispering about the unfortunate death of Professor Lennon Hark.
"Excuse me, I'd like to meet Professor Demir" I asked one lady who was anxiously tapping her foot continuously on the wooden floor.
"Oh, of course. Would you mind introducing yourself?" She asked awkwardly.
"My apologies, I am Lino Carstairs, from Lulens Police Department." I said and showed her my badge.
"Yes , please come with me." She smiled and guided me through the numerous corridors.
"Professor Demir, someone from the LPD is here to see you." She knocked on the door. The door had a kaitoke green color, and had the name engraved with golden letters 'Co Coordinator'.
"Let them in." A gentle voice spoke behind the door.
The lady left, closing the door behind. "I'd say good morning, but as I can see, it certainly isn't." I said entering.
"I'm glad you didn't say that Detective." He said looking up from the pile of work. "Please take a seat. You must be here regarding Professor Hark. It is truly unfortunate.  We lost a brilliant colleague and Professor. How can I help you?"
"Professor Demir, " I said, sitting down on the seat in front of him, glancing at the name resting on his table that read 'Professor Aylmer Demir' in bold copper. "I am Detective Lino Carstairs from the Lulens Police Department. I have investigated your brother, Adonis Demir, because Professor Hark was seen last with your brother. I heard that you are a professor who works at the same place as professor Hark, so I thought I could get some help from you, since you are his coworker."
"Lennon was working from before…" his face turned grim. His eyes showed sadness. "He knew me but he knew Adonis better. We talked and there was nothing suspicious about his behavior. He didn't have any enemies, that's at least what I know about him." He said.
"I see." I said and observed him. There was nothing suspicious about him. He looked more knowledgeable and sophisticated than his annoying brother. "You look nothing like your brother. I heard that the university was involved in this case too."
"Oh," he said nonchalantly as he rolled his eyes. "I apologize for appearing better than him. Did it hurt your vision perhaps?"
I smirked, he is smart mouthed too. "I didn't mean to offend you professor, is perhaps the topic regarding your celebrity brother and school's involvement too much for you?"
He chuckled, "No, no, Detective. I wouldn't get offended at this trivial topic. But he may if you talk about his…" he slowly looked up to me and made eye contact. "Very, extremely overpowered brother." As soon as I felt chills through my spine, I realized that he was extremely intimidating too. "I believe your interrogation is done. The school isn't involved in the murder of Professor Hark. I shall seek you out."
We were at the school gate. Throughout the journey we spoke nothing. But I noticed something. The students always either wished him good morning or scurry away at the sight of him. He always walked with his hand behind him with a straight back. He almost makes no sound as he walks. His eyes had the same olive green color as his brother and the same ebony hair as him though the length might differ. Not only did he have sharper features than his brother who had softer and easy on the eyes, but his skin was also a little bit darker, making it appear as if God had no intention of letting people believe that they were twins. He had big glasses just like Adonis said, it made him look brooding.
"I believe that we'll meet frequently, professor, don't mind that, do you?" I smirked
"I don't. " He returned the smirk. "But I can't say the same for you though." I laughed out loud at his words.
"Detective." His voice was serious all of a sudden. "If I catch the murderer before you, I'll kill him."
I hid the smirk with my hand. "Of course. Two can play this game. I thought you weren't into this type of things Prof. Judging by the way you behave-"
"You are too quick to judge, detective, it suits your choice of profession." He stepped closer to me. "I am very much into this. Too much. You see I was an avid reader when I was a kid—I still am— I enjoyed mysteries. My parents were worried if I might turn out to be a psychopath that the detective's were so eager to catch."
"I thought you'd wanted to be a detective because you loved mysteries. "
He shrugged. "You could never guess. Maybe I wanted to be found or play the game of cat and mouse." His smile, to me, wasn't scary. It was, but, cryptic. Like his smile hid something behind.
"Then I'd be your detective, professor. I too enjoy the mysteries. " I stepped closer. "And the chase of cat and mouse as well." One thing to note about me was, I don't quit. I hate backing down. Not only will I solve the case before him, but I will also solve the mystery named Aylmer Demir.
He stood at the door until I left. My phone buzzed as soon as I left the school district. I looked to see a message from none other than Aylmer Demir.
'The chase is always exhausting." It read. 'I hope you don't get too tired.' I scoffed, making the driver look at me worriedly.
'I could say the same to you, Professor. ' I sent him.

- He was the second member of the group to be revealed. - Having strong relationships with all of the members, Liuxian is considered to be “the glue that holds the group together.” In addition to handling disputes between the members, he’s responsible for convincing Jasper, who had considered leaving following Ilsung’s 2022 hiatus, to stay in the group. - Of the members, Liuxian is closest to Rawdon and Perry. - Liuxian made his solo debut in July 2021 with the extended play LET ME GO!. The EP was moderately successful, but ultimately underperformed compared to what was expected. - He was the interim leader of the group during Ilsung’s 2022 hiatus. - He is affectionately nicknamed “Liu Liu” by fans. - Throughout 2022, Liuxian repeatedly attempted to save face for the group. VANITY FAIR and HoD were subject to intense scrutiny that year—Ilsung was on hiatus, Jasper was threatening to leave, and Jungmin was mysteriously absent from several of the group’s activities. Visited Kaitoke Regional park with my flatmate today (she took my photos!! She’s AMAZING! And I took photos of her, too—we both got dressed up!) and knocked a HUGE thing off my New Zealand checklist: we saw where they filmed the exteriors of Rivendell! 😍
The gateway is immense and absolutely breathtaking! It was so amazing to have made it there at last! ✨
Some tourists saw us taking pictures, and wanted to pose with us! 😭 💕
The requiem gown was made by @aurelia_lucis on Insta!

“I run for two reasons. Firstly, a strong family history of heart disease begs for a healthy lifestyle. Secondly, growing up roaming the mountains of Wales really ingrained in me that love for outdoors and the mountain tops. If it's a fine sunny day I have to be outside. Growing up in rainy Wales will do that to you, as they are precious rare days. I am happiest out on the tops of the mountains. I think growing up in the valleys with mountains either side blocking out the sky just makes me want to expand the sky and get on the tops. Maybe I am boardline claustrophobic.
I first kept fit by riding road bikes as a teenager in Wales and then racing them when I moved to Jamaica and then New Zealand. In 2013 I was asked by a friend to run the Coast to Coast Mountain Run in 2014 as part of a team. Not sure why he asked a cyclist to do the run part, but I guess he just figured I was fit enough and just needed to start running. So I trained for 6 months and gave it a crack. The leg of the Coast to Coast was up over Arthurs Pass, climbing up the river bed and over the saddle. This was just like roaming the hills of Wales but faster (and bigger) and I loved it. I was hooked and haven't stopped running since.
I still cycle but run more now, and mostly trail running. I like to mix it up though and come up with unique adventures like riding my bike from home in Whanganui to Ruapehu and Taranaki, and then running up and down to the summits. My own little Sea to Summit adventures.
I dabble in road and parkrun. I recently completed a back to back around the mountains adventure by doing the Ring of Fire 73K race and guiding a group of  runners around and up Taranaki the weekend before. I spend a lot of time training on Taranaki as I work close by.
There is lots to explore in New Zealand and the Tararuas are my current mission. Hopefully I will be attempting an SK (Main Range S-K Schormann to Kaitoke) in the not too distant future.
For many years I have been conscious that life is short. I see it all too frequently, with the next person you know of that has passed on, and having lost my brother at a young 54 years I like to make the most of every opportunity. I treat each day as precious and try to make the most of each one. This finds me more often than not in the mountains. My mantra is 'Plan for the future but live for today'. Don't waste those precious days, be kind, end each day with a smile, and do what you can to make others smile.”

Rivendell
Dziś odwiedziłem Kaitoke Regional Park - niewielki rezerwat w głębokiej, cienistej dolinie, gdzie strumień Pakuratahi wpada do rzeki Hutt. Rośnie tam piękny, naturalny las deszczowy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
W dolinie nakręcono kilka ujęć z Rivendell, z "Władcy Pierścieni". Pozostawiono fragment dekoracji - bramę, przez którą Drużyna Pierścienia rusza w stronę Mordoru.
Tumblr media Tumblr media

Jackie Wassilie emailed: “So..just listened to my first podcast..it was the absolute fastest hour! Totally entertaining in my early quiet morning hour. Awesomeness!”
Ryan Weyls shared a photo from Wolfe Tones in Norwalk, CT on March 13: “Hi Marc, here's a photo of the Wolfe Tones from what they say is their last tour of the US. In a nod to our modern era, they had a keyboardist playing bass lines and synth strings, and a laptop was visible onstage as well. The Mac might have been for the slide show or a click track, or both. I'd prefer a live bassist but their extra man made it work with his Roland. Have a great weekend.
Patrick Rieger emailed photos right before St Patrick’s Day: “Hello Marc,
Celtic Pittsburgh was part of the Saint Patrick's Day parade for the first time this year, and it was also my first parade on such a scale. I was part of two tiny parades for other occasions, but nothing like this. Pittsburgh Public Safety estimated 200,000 spectators would be lining the 1.4 miles route, and it certainly looked it. Emerging from under a railroad bridge to reach the start of the parade route and seeing the sides of the streets of downtown Pittsburgh packed with so many people cheering and whooping was a thrill. Some people were even watching from a parking garage.
We had seven people marching. Three members marched, as well as some people who volunteered to march with us. Two people were from the Lady MacGregor Lodge #73 of the Daughters of Scotia based in Youngwood, PA.
Besides groups honoring Irish and Celtic culture, there were other groups in the parade, including a Ghostbusters fan group.
The radio program who interviewed Susan Borowski and I, The Saturday Light Brigade, asked people downtown for the parade to call in and let them know how the parade was going, so I called while we were waiting in the staging area.
I have attached some photos, most to show the size of the crowd, and one of the reviewing stand.”
Check out this episode!
