Kabul Airport 2011? We were asked to conduct check point searches at the Camp Sullivan gate. We had 4 teams there. Can’t remember why, it was very rare to work at the Airport since there was many other K-9 teams around. #dogsfordefense #d4d #k9 #workingdog #blacklab #kabulairport #kabulafghanistan #campsullivan #mwd (at Camp Sullivan) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTCx4UHrrXz/?utm_medium=tumblr

This is the last US soldier leaving Afghanistan
The Department of Defense has tweeted an image of Maj. Gen. Chris Donahue, commander of the 82nd Airborne Division, boarding a C-17 to depart Kabul.
He was the last soldier to depart the country.
On Monday, Gen. Kenneth “Frank” McKenzie, the top general of US Central Command, informed reporters that Donahue and the top US diplomat in Kabul, Charge d’Affaires Ross Wilson, had been the last two US officials to step off of Afghanistan soil and onto a US military aircraft out of Afghanistan.
“On the last airplane out was Gen. Chris Donahue, commander of the 82nd airborne division and my grand force commander there, and he was accompanied by our charge Ambassador Ross Wilson, so they came out together,” McKenzie stated. “The state and defense team came out on the last aircraft and had been in fact the last people to step on the ground, step on the airplane,” he added.
An Afghan YouTuber was killed at Kabul airport. Many more fear the worst
From CNN’s Masoud Popalzai and Rob Picheta
4 days after the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, 20-year-old YouTuber Najma Sadeqi sat on her bed and recorded a final video to tens of thousands of followers.
Usually, her posts would show her cooking or exploring Kabul alongside her friends, in bright clothes and with cheerful music playing in the background. However before Sadeqi even started talking, the dispirited expression on her face told viewers that this one was completely different.
“Since we’re not allowed to work and go out of our houses, all of us needed to record you a final video,” she started. “And through this video say goodbye to you all.”
She informed viewers she was too scared to walk the street, and requested them to pray for her. “Life in Kabul has become very troublesome, particularly for many who was once free and happy,” she stated. “I wish it’s a bad dream, I wish we are able to wake up one day,” she added, stopping at times to stifle tears. “However I do know that it isn’t possible …. and it’s a reality that we’re finished.”
Days later, Sadeqi was killed in a terror attack outside Kabul’s international airport, two of her colleagues informed CNN. A minimum of 170 Afghans died in the atrocity, while attempting desperately to flee the country.
Sadeqi was in the final year of study at a journalism institute in Kabul. She had recently joined the Afghan Insider YouTube channel, whose videos have amassed more than 24 million views. They gave weekly glimpses into the lives of younger content creators, who had been raised amid the relative safety of a post-Taliban age. Additionally they allowed Sadeqi and others to support their families, while following their own aspirations.

Taliban leaders took over control of the Kabul airport Tuesday and marked the departure of the last U.S. airplane from the country by taking a symbolic walk across the airport’s sole runway, according to a report.
“The world should have learned its lesson and that is the satisfying moment of victory,” Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesman, stated in a livestream video, according to the Associated Press. He spoke to reporters at the Hamid Karzai International Airport and stated Americans “couldn’t achieve their goal by military operations,” according to Al Jazeera.
Celebratory gunfire could be heard all through Kabul before daybreak, Reuters reported. A reporter from the Los Angeles Times posted video of Taliban fighters inspecting a hanger after the U.S. departure.
The AP reported that vehicles carrying the Taliban raced back and forth along the airport’s sole runway.
Before dawn broke, heavily armed Taliban fighters walked through hangars, passing a few of the seven CH-46 helicopters the State Department utilized in its evacuations before rendering them unflyable.
The U.S. Embassy in Kabul announced on its website that it suspended operations at the facility on Aug. 31, however stated it would proceed to “assist U.S. citizens and their families in Afghanistan from Doha, Qatar.”
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken took to Twitter to announce the suspension of a diplomatic presence in Kabul. He stated the U.S. will base its diplomatic operations with the country from Doha.
