dear Americans
The Ku Klux Klan is estimated to have lynched more than 4,400 people just between the civil war and 1940. They are terrorists, and they are American.
Omar Mateen killed 49 people and wounded 53 more in the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, FL in 2016. he was born in New York. He was a terrorist, and he was American.
Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols drove a truck full of explosives to a government building in Oklahoma City in 1995. The resulting explosion killed 168 people and injured 680 more. They are terrorists, and they are American. In 1921, the United States fucking government armed white supremacists and basically hired them to massacre Black Wall Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We still don't have exact numbers of the dead and injured, but we know it's at least 39 dead and more than 800 injured. The perpetrators were terrorists, and they were American.
Wade Michael Page: 6 dead.
Frazier Glenn Miller: 3 dead.
Dylann Roof: 9 dead.
James Alex Fields: 1 dead.
Patrick Crusius: 23 dead.
Payton Gendron: 10 dead.
John Allen Williams: 17 dead.
All terrorists, and all Americans.
If you honestly fucking believe that sharing a country with terrorists makes you and everyone you've ever known deserving of death, and use this logic to justify the genocide of Palestinians...
Feel free to put your money where your mouth is and go first.
Even if you believe every single member of Hamas is on par with the KKK, which just factually is not true, you still have no fucking ground to stand on. Shut up.

“BlacKkKlansman" is a comedy-drama. The comedy-drama, based on actual events, follows an African American police officer and his Jewish partner infiltrating the local Ku Klux Klan. BlacKkKlansman balances serious themes with satirical humor, using dynamic pacing to blend drama and comedy. The period-appropriate costumes and settings enhance authenticity, while precise editing keeps the narrative engaging. Each scene builds tension or adds satire, deepening the movie's message.
“Casablanca" is a classic drama set during World War II, centered around Rick Blaine, an American expatriate who runs a nightclub in Casablanca. The film explores themes of love, sacrifice, and resistance against tyranny. One of the most iconic scenes is the "La Marseillaise" scene, where the patrons of Rick's Café sing the French national anthem to drown out the German soldiers singing "Die Wacht am Rhein."
The structure of this scene is meticulously crafted. Starting with a close-up of the German soldiers singing, setting a tense atmosphere. It then shifts to the café patrons' reactions, mixed with shots of Rick and Ilsa's emotions. The editing creates momentum by swiftly moving between the Germans and the rebellious patrons.
The lighting in the café scene is crucial. Initially dim, it adds to the tense atmosphere. As "La Marseillaise" is sung, the lighting subtly brightens, symbolizing hope and unity. The direction ensures each performance contributes to the scene's emotional impact.
This scene is undeniably dramatic. It serves as a decisive moment of resistance and solidarity against the oppressive forces of the Nazis. The passionate singing and the visible reactions of the characters amplify the emotional weight.
The ambience of Rick's Café, with its smoky, dim lighting, helps with the scene's dramatic impact. The setting feels like a small version of the larger war-torn world, bringing together people from different backgrounds in a moment of defiance. The use of shadows and light plays a major role in creating a sense of intimacy and urgency.
This scene ties meaningfully to the broader message of "Casablanca." It captures the themes of resistance and sacrifice, showing that despite overwhelming odds, people can come together to stand against oppression. The scene's emotional impact highlights the film's message about the strength of unity and the importance of standing up for what is right.
Analyzing "Casablanca" overall with the concepts shown reveals how Curtiz's direction, the actors' performances, and the careful use of lighting and editing all contribute to the film's enduring impact.

AQOURSCANON: Let's imagine it once and for all (Codename: Aqours Midnight Hour)
April Fools is close by and this day was infamous for bringing some odd ideas to life for Aqours. From CYAZALEA Kiss, to teasing Genjitsu no Yohane into reality, I'm beginning to wonder if Ruby will be next to receive a spinoff.
Hear me out...just for a moment.
[Actually fuck this. My idea is more seiyuu focused, because KU-RU-KU-RU Cruller was cruel to Ruby, especially since city pop is Furi's specialty].
Currently, it is under the conceptual development as "Aqours: Midnight Hour". The story does feature more than just Aqours; including other members from other idol groups as supporting or guests/cameo.
The synopsis takes place in an alternate Tokyo in the near future, where the 80s aesthetic never died. Furirin, who was Emitsun's partner for a few years, decides to move to Tokyo for more work after her hometown's crime rate depleted significantly. Now, the Nagano native has to adapt to the never-ending chaos of the city.
However, the current state of Tokyo was under the scrutiny of a gang war between the Suwa Clan of Saitama and Komiya Clan of Tochigi, after the sudden disappearance of Aina Suzuki. Suzuki, who was Naho's romantic partner after the disbanding of Aqours in 2026, went missing after a live performance in Akihabara; leaving Naho to blame for possibly murdering her.
While reuniting with Aika, now a fortune teller in a rundown building beside an old nightclub, Furirin interferes with the local police and saved Naho from possible prosecution proving she had no motive or involvement in the assumed death of Aina Suzuki. Now, the former clan leader makes a promise to accompany Furirin as her crime partner as they investigate the case. Though, finding the answer to the missing former Aqours member is not the only issue around here.
--Not when there are rumors of a secret third clan from Hyogo also lurking around, a rivalry between Inamin and RKK, a foreigner detective, who is a huge fan of Furirin, investigating an unusual paranormal activity affecting Shibuya and nearby districts, plus an underground Communist cult holding a local beer distributor hostage; will Furirin and Naho be able to handle all these cases on top of the ongoing reign of the Komiya Clan?--
(Oh, and Shuka became a millionaire off of yacht rentals...)
======
As it stands, it is not set in stone if I wish to proceed with this potential fanfic. I do want to at least share this headcanon though. Maybe we'll get a surprise next week over it.

Casablanca is a classic romantic drama set during World War II. The story follows Rick Blaine, an American expatriate who runs a popular nightclub in Casablanca, which is a city in Morocco. His life turns when his former lover, Ilsa Lund, enters the club with her husband, Victor Laszlo, a fugitive Czech Resistance leader. The film explores themes of love, sacrifice, and the struggle against tyranny.
Casablanca's pacing is generally steady, with a mix of suspenseful moments and emotional scenes. The black-and-white cinematography and iconic set design contribute to the nostalgic and moody atmosphere of the film. The chemistry between Bogart and Bergman and the memorable dialogue, such as the famous line "Here's looking at you, kid," add to the film's charm and enduring appeal
BlacKkKlansman: BlacKkKlansman is a satirical biographical crime film directed by Spike Lee. The story is based on the real-life experiences of Ron Stallworth, the first African-American detective in the Colorado Springs Police Department. Stallworth infiltrates the local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan with the help of his colleague, Flip Zimmerman, who poses as him during in-person meetings. The film addresses themes of racism, identity, and the complexities of undercover work.
One particularly effective scene in BlacKkKlansman is when Ron Stallworth attends a KKK gathering, and the tension and danger escalate as he is close to Klan members, unaware of his true identity. The scene is dramatic, with quick cuts, close-ups, and intense lighting to heighten the suspense. Spike Lee masterfully uses the editing to build anticipation and create a sense of claustrophobia in the confined space.
This scene's ambiance and set design play a significant role in the film's message. The dark and ominous setting of the KKK meeting reflects the hidden and dangerous nature of racism and hate groups. The powerful acting by John David Washington and the ensemble cast further enhance the scene's emotional impact.
Overall, BlacKkKlansman effectively combines drama and satire to address serious social issues. The scene at the KKK gathering exemplifies how technical aspects, such as editing and lighting, can amplify the emotions and contribute to the film's powerful message about racism and the fight for justice.
