Any fans of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic comics out there? I need some input.
So as far as cameos/hints go, we do get most of your companions from the first Kotor game mentioned.
Revan: lookin' very incognito
Malak: lookin' very hot
Carth: Mr. Republic hero
HK-47: previous models introduced
Mission: already on Taris
There's mention of a T3 unit (that counts, right?)
We're missing Jolee, Juhani, Zaalbar, Canderous, Bastila. We know Jolee is on Kashyyyk, we see Revan's Jedi group on Taris before going to the front so this COULD be when they set Juhani free of her slavers. Canderous is a Mandalorian in there somewhere..so then we're missing Bastila! We even get Master Vrook, Vandar, Atris, Zez-Kai Ell, Kavar, Zhar, and Dantooine! Couldn't have some little pre-teen girl with pigtails in some Jedi location scene???

Reading the KOTOR comics and it's quite poignant how Malak is this nice guy who helps out the heroes and has an unrequited crush on Jarael given that in the games he's this raging, broken monster of a Sith Lord who destroys planets by orbital bombardment. I can't help but wonder if maybe Jarael rejecting him (relatively nicely to be fair) was one of the things that propelled him towards the dark side. I guess the sad fact is Malak made his own choices and lost his life as a result. I still enjoyed seeing him as a good guy though.

Since I'm back on my KOTOR bull and I'm rereading the KOTOR comics, I'm just thinking how fun it would be for Revan to walk out into the past. Now, post KOTOR 1 LSF would be great for a variety of reasons, frowning at all the people she had to kill because they fell and the like, but I think Darth Revan pre game would be even funnier.
There are the Revanchists trying to convince the Council to let them fight, the Republic getting beat like a drum, the Convent... and then some rando Sith lord with a ton of ships and such goes 'Hey... Republic... if the Jedi won't fight with you, I will. Join me. Let's become a formidable army to conquer the Mandalorians and then go after the True Sith
It would drive many people up a wall, is what I'm saying

Appearing to someone in a vision to chide them for giving a homeless veteran 5 credits is insane. I love you, Kreia <3
Can I believe this is the best art I have done for these two games since I started playing two months ago? Nope. But here we are!

what i think is sometimes overlooked or missed entirely about the old republic (more specifically, the old sith wars era) is like. old republic jedi were not peacekeepers the way golden age (prequel) jedi were peacekeepers. old republic jedi were esoteric warrior monks and they acted like it. tales of the jedi (the comic run), ft. all the shit about exar kun, the last major player in the galaxy before the start of knights of the old republic (everything in kotor is his fault and i stand by it) came out in the early 90's, back when the only concept of what a jedi was shaped by obi-wan and yoda in the original trilogy. aka people shaped their idea of what the jedi was partially based off of a guy whose idea of conflict de-escalation was mind control and dismemberment. they were the good guys, yeah, but in a 'don't make me come back there' kind of way. and they had to be, because unlike in the golden age, some sith asshole was rearing its head up every generation or so and trying to tear the galaxy asunder and shit. in swtor they're at war with a sith empire for almost three decades. it was a different jedi order back then is what im tryin' to say. and if you don't see that and appreciate it for being what it is, just?? stay out of the old republic??

This is the second part of my holiday exchange gift for Queen_Scribbles for this year's @kotorgiftexchange event.
I had never thought of Visas and Bao Dur as a couple, but the more thought I put into it, the more I felt compelled by the idea! The two deserve the best.

My thoughts on Sith Philosophy
There certainly is something romantic about the sith, they basicly seek emotional and sometimes literal freedom. And that is in my opinion something everybody can more or less relate to.
Tumblr media
Many Imperials view the war with the Republic as a war for survival rather than conquest. Like the Sith, the Imperial citizens are educated about the end of the Great Hyperspace War and the carnage from the Republic and Jedi holocaust of the Sith people, that resulted in the indiscriminate massacre and near extinction of the entire Sith civilization. The people of the Empire have not forgotten the horrors inflicted on them by the Republic, and Sith and Imperial alike believe that if they don't wipe out the Jedi and Republic first, then they will be wiped out by them. And this time the Jedi might succeed in destroying all traces of the Sith Empire.
