Marriage of (IN)Convenience, Chapter 2: Save the Date
I have the sneaking suspicion we’re going to break containment on the five chapter limit i set…. As well as the march 31st finish goal.
title: Marriage of (IN)Convenience, Chapter 2: Save the Date
Fandom: Hawaii 5-0
Pairing: McDanno (Steve McGarrett/Daniel Williams), past mention of Danny Williams/Rachel Edwards
Fic Summary:
Steve finds marriage expedient to their goals. Danny finds it inconvenient and alarming and is surprised it works to get him split custody of his daughter. The other spousal privileges are a definite plus, but Danny’s still pretty sure he’s getting the better end of the deal than Steve is.
Or: How to Catch and Woo Your Danno, by Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett
Chapter summary:
Steve recruits a willing co-conspirator or two in his campaign.
Tags/warnings: explicit sex, mentions of prior infidelity (Rachel’s when she left Danny—not McDanno)
Having secured Danny’s agreement to marry him, Steve doesn’t hesitate to continue his offensive the next day, taking advantage of Danny’s surprise to claim even more territory. They’re at the International Market Place, looking into a string of robberies that are technically a bit below 5-0’s official mandate. Still, Steve doesn’t mind taking the case off HPD’s hands while they’re between major cases. Kono and Chin are also doing some canvassing while Steve and Danny visit the stores on level one. The Martin and MacArthur store has a display in the window that catches Steve’s eye. It’s a beautiful display of jewelry incorporating koa—a native Hawaiian wood, a type of acacia. “Babe,” Danny growls, the back of his hand batting at Steve’s chest as he tries to get Steve’s attention. “What are you looking at?” “How do you feel about rings?”

I noticed the silver looked a nut faded on the collars. I go to broadway all the time and when silvermarkers are used on dabric like hats they look faded like that after a short time. Id bet it was from the fall campaign. And the dog they have in that video looks similar to dodger but coincidences do happen....
That dog has been in a few times with Jinx. His name is Koa. At this point, we can’t call it a fall campaign. It will be very very soon, but…it’s definitely not fall anymore. Wonder what the holdup was 🤔

My newest hyper-fixation; creating a home brew dnd campaign based off of the little known rpg gem, kingdoms of Amular: reckoning.
[LONG POST, MOBILE]
It makes me unnecessarily angry that this game isn’t more popular. So I’m gonna rant about why it should be.
1. The Reckoning system is the most satisfying and unique combat mechanic in an open work rpg I’ve ever played
2. The combat in general is fluid and fun without being too easy and you can easily become overwhelmed in battle as enemies all have differing attack patterns and can swarm you from any angle, leading to fast, frantic fights that are challenging as well as so cool
3. The leveling and fate card systems are complex and work together to make each character build unique and personalized to your play style. And unlike other rpgs that were more widely acclaimed at the time (*cough* Skyrim *cough*) you are never stuck with any set path and can change your mind at any time in the game
4. The junk items system makes it easy to sort and mass sell any items you have that aren’t useful or are clogging up your inventory.
5. Quests are carried enough that even minor ones never feel like chores or busy work
6. “I’m real, you must be drunk”
“Oh I am”
7. The main villain is voiced by Winey the Pooh
8. Removable helmets
9. The armor and weapon designs are so cool, and the female armor is functional and I love it so much
10. Alyn Shir
11. The game is so pretty and the art style is so good, why would anyone want to look at Skyrim’s brown and grey and white when you can have this!!!
12. The lore of this game is so rich and interesting that you could write a full blown novel with just the lodestones, journals, and hidden stuff in this game
13. Alyn. Shir.
14. The siege of Mel Senshire is the best quest line I have ever played, I could never forget it, and it still makes me cry
15. Agarth is my dad and I would never let anything happen to him
16. The accents are so bad they somehow loop around and become perfect
17. Who needs dragons when you can become as god?
18. You can join ever faction in the game at once
19. You can betray every faction in the game and they will all try to kill you
20. You can betray the Warsworn and honestly, you really should
21. THE HOT ELF LADY WANTS TO B O N E
22. Alyn. Fucking. Shir.
23. Wolf trapped in a mans body
24. Hi, would you like to hurl disks of flaming metal at your opponents with great speed? Chakrams
25. This man has big himbo energy and I want to hug him
26. There is not romance but 2 out of the 3 characters you flirt with are girls and that seems pretty gay
27. Everyone else is dressed appropriately for battle except for Alyn Shir and that seems very in character
28. The expansions are 10/10 and you can have wolf pets in one
29. “You will fall before the night of the tuatha!
“Who are you again?”
30. Alyn Shir
She could murder me and I would thank her
All right that is all

Many people are happy with two feet on land. They can be born, live, and die on the same simple farm and never think twice about the larger world around them. This is not the case for the people of Flotilla - the Floating Village. Nomads and sailors from lands far and wide stop at the quaint village to trade wares, stop for some much needed rest, and tell tales of the great beasts of the ocean. And the people of the waterbound village share in the splendor of the great seas. But perhaps there is more to this collection of friendly, sea-faring citzens.
Hey everyone! For our latest battlemap we felt it was ~high~ ~tide~ time to return to the sea theme and dive back in the water. Perfect for any fishing village, pirate village or coral village. Maybe inhabited by koa-toans, water genasi or aquatic elves. Or pirate sharks! This village comes with a total of 26 variants so you're bound to find one that's perfect for your campaign!
You can find the full map and see each of the variants here, on our Patreon!
Thank you all for the support and let us know what you think!

Hellooo my dear! (answering you ask rn and i got curious as well!) How does Koa reacts while Bell is being interrogated by Adler and the others at the ending? was he there? who was he with at the time :o (i love Koa sm oh my god hahaha)
Helloooooooo pele! And OOOOOOOOOO! I would gladly answer your question about this wonderful Māori man!
I decided that Koa WAS there during their interrogation.
Since he'll be splitting up with Bell, Lazar and Park in Cuba. I felt bad that Lazar and Park died either way of choosing ONE of them. So why not add an EXTRA one to save one each, hm?
So yeah, after that mission. Koa will be confused to see Adler, Sims and Park taking him inside the room being latched up on that gurney. He was asking Hudson as to what they are doing with him. He noticed that the CIA Agent was not responding to his question.
Koa has a REALLY bad feeling as he walks over to see for himself but I know Hudson will have to stop him. That's when he saw through the window seeing Adler injecting something into Bell. That's when he got pissed off. He tries to get through to stop him but both Hudson and Lazar try to calm him down and tell him that it's the only way to get Perseus.
Koa didn't sign up for this. He knows that Bell trusted him of how close the two are. But now KNOWING the truth of how they- AHEM excused the language - FUCKED up Bell's identity and tricking them to think that they are one of THEM. That REALLY ticked him off.
And I am going to explain Koa's reaction from both of the TWO endings that Bell will make by telling them the location as to where Perseus was at.
"Solovetsky..."
Koa was there to help to end this war once and for all. And he was smiling proudly seeing that they WON.
But things were really off after seeing that Adler and Bell weren't around. He was with Woods and Mason at that time celebrating their victories.
That's when he saw Adler walking back to them...by himself. Where is Bell? What has he done to him?
Once Adler confirmed about it (or lied about it? I don't exactly know...). He knows that Adler is hiding something. And he doesn't like it. But he restrained himself and just continued on working with them.
And also, if you remember about that one skit I did about Koa and Adler arguing. That was the LAST straw for Koa to help out. So after that argument the two had. He decided to quit and just go back to the New Zealand Army and go back home. I'm sure Aleks (@alypink BOCW OC) is already disappointed in Adler but she understands Koa's intentions.
So he left for GOOD. Until on the other COD BOC about Adler being MIA? I think. I need to watch that campaign when I get the time. And I'll stop right here for this part.
"Duga..."
Very sad to see the team all DIED.
Which means Koa will have to as well. Or maybe not? I was thinking that Koa should be the LAST one trying to escape after Bell killed Adler.
Bleeding. Injured. It is VERY painful.
He was TRYING to escape then but was caught by one of the soldiers as he was dragged back in. Before falling in front of Perseus and Bell.
I know most of you might think that Koa will be pissed off seeing Bell betrayed them. But...he's not. Instead, he was feeling guilt for failing to help and protect Bell. Since he didn't KNOW what Adler and the team were planning on them.
The last thing that he will say to Bell before getting shot is...
"I'm sorry...I'm sorry that I failed to help you...to protect you...like how I failed my daughter....so please...forgive me..."
And that's when Bell hesitated to point the gun at him.
Koa just smiled a bit at him before getting shot in the head.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND that's about it! I really enjoy doing this ask! And I thank you for asking me this, Aly! And now, I must tagged the OTHER two to see this one!

I realized that I never talk much about how the Tales from Aurea characters are actually built/play in game so let’s change that! For the curious and the folks who are also into DnD/Pathfinder... All characters just turned level 11 in the campaign 😊
Kaja
Draconic sorcerer (white dragon)
Gets a debuff to her strength and constitution for being a child but a buff to her dexterity
Weirdly powerful??? Like guys she’s honestly one of the most powerful of the PCs I don’t understand it. She has literally shot dragons out of the sky with her spells
I only teach her spells that I think it would be lore-y for her to know (ends up being mostly cold element spells). This makes it even weirder that she’s so strong... but I guess she wields the secret “power of the protagonist” lmao
Jo
Barbarian (using Pathfinder Unchained rules because vanilla Barbarian rules in Pathfinder are flat-out unusable)
Easily the highest DPS of anyone, she wields a two-handed warhammer as a single-handed weapon because she’s Large size and does a bonkers amount of damage with it
We actually made custom rules for her sabercat beast form but she rarely shifts except in very specific circumstances. But it’s, uh, really Scary when she does (she once charged and mauled an enemy - he went from full health to dead in one turn)
Sakrattars
Wizard (School of Divination)
While Kaja is the damage-dealing spellcaster, Sakrattars mostly has support spells or spells useful for solving puzzles/dungeon diving
But he does cast a mean lightning bolt
He gets a huge initiative bonus (the idea is that he can “foresee” the battle coming and is Ready) but he also just rolls really well. He almost always goes first when combat starts
Leif
Fighter
Tank/damage sponge - he has great AC and high HP. He usually fights side-by-side with Jo, absorbing attacks while she dishes them out
Utterly incapable of confirming a critical hit. It’s such a meme at this point that my partner actually incorporated it into his character - in his backstory, Leif is confirmed to be a clumsy excuse for a soldier in his youth
Amale
Ranger
Doesn’t really... do much in combat... he mostly helps with non-combat related gameplay and chipping away at enemies with his bow from a distance
Has a pet hawk named Koa who is a very Brave Bird and a certified Good Boy. Koa won’t appear in the story for several more sessions though
Sigrid
Paladin (I think she’s level 8?)
Technically Leif’s follower, she joins the party much, much later in the story
Sworn to the goddess Aegis, Demon’s Bane. As such, she’s one of the few party members who can hold her own against Fallen. Everything about her is specifically designed to hunt and kill demons
She also heals Jo a lot... because Jo gets hurt... often... and badly... *sigh*

Monday means D&D report! So, we’ve started a new campaign set in a world where the Material Plane has been completely flooded from some World Ending Bullshit, the entire game taking place underwater and all of us playing some aquatic race (so a bunch of homebrew). In my case, I’m a Sea Elf Rogue styled after a Pacific Black Dragon, and I’m having fun~
The session started with a rift from the Elemental Plane of Water ripping into the floatsam city we were currently in, and was largely about us going for cover and rescuing civilians. Highlights include our Koa-Toa Cleric (who has the most hilarious voice) concluding that this was an act of god, and declaring the leviathan we saw a god, and basically anything of any notable power registers to him as a god. Our Sahuagin Barbarian did a great job of rescuing civilians from rubble and sweeping currents, but then he saw the leviathan coming through the rift, he dropped everything to go try and fight it, at which point our Sea Slug Wizard used Hold Person to make sure he didn’t get himself killed. And all of this ended with us fighting off a mob of parasites that had been feeding on the Leviathan, now aided by a Skeleton Warlock who is still getting used to all this water.
It was great~
