More progress on the 1940s waistcoat! Fronts are done, now onto the back piece and the button bands.

Cast on another vest a while back. The pattern is for a basic side button vest/tank. I am hoping to alter the pattern a little bit by using scrap yarn and just messing around with the texture of the stitch pattern. I am attempting to marle the yarn by using seed stitch and swapping out the colors. I have about 7 different yarns, and I am just making up as I go. This is a very satisfying pattern, even if I forget when to hold the yarn in the front verses the back, but whatever.

I may not be able to carry the one ring, nor even the one ring bearer, but I could absolutely do second breakfast…and elevenses…and luncheon. And I’d do it in my hobbiton vest, made from romney spun entirely by me! I’m so excited to finally have a wearable of my own hand spun yarn!! This has been the goal for a long time now, and I’m excited to see what more I’ll make.

I don't think I've ever worn a vest, sweater or otherwise, in my life, but I think they would work pretty well with how I dress now--lots of jackets bc 1) I'm cold and 2) much easier to take on and off in public than a sweater or hoodie. But I don't zip them bc zipped/buttons look bad sitting down and im Always Sitting Down. Whereas if the jacket is just hanging open it doesn't look as bad. So a vest would have the same overall appearance without the work of also doing sleeves.

Also, I think i have enough yarn for a sweater vest but probably not for a sweater.

Could also weave large squares of them on my big peg loom. And then felt most likely. I might try that first and see what kind of fabric I get.

Cable knit vest!

First time knitting cables! Hated the yarn so I wanted to waste it on a “bad pattern” (one I had no faith I could do well) but I actually love it! Wish the yarn wasn’t so itchy 😔😔💔

I've been putting off drawing for the last few months because I've been busy making a vest!!

This is my first real big knitting project like this and I'm in love with how it turned out. "I've always wanted a knit vest" turned into "wait...I can knit, I can just make one" which somehow turned into an actual project!! It's a bit messy in a few spots and I had to sew some things and change some dimensions and redo some things but overall I'm really proud of it! Also pink. Love that color.
