Banned by the Washington post. Political cartoonist Ann Telnaes quit the Washington Post, as did 200,000 of it's subscribers, when editors of the paper banned the above cartoon. Per AP "The cartoon was intended to criticize "billionaire tech and media chief executives who have ben doing their best to curry favor with incoming President-elect Donald Trump." Telnaes said such a move is dangerous for a free press.

I love how Tuvok, Janeway, and Chakotay all at some point say things that are anti crewmen having sex or pursuing romance. Chakotay at one point seems to suggest completely banning romance between crewmen and Tuvok spends half an episode walking Harry through how not to fall in love. There's an entire episode where Janeway invokes a heretofore never mentioned (or followed) rule in which Starfleet officers can't have sex with aliens. Janeway and Tuvok also both seem to consider holodeck sex/romance to be cheating - Tuvok explicitly refuses to partake in it and Janeway's hallucination of Mark accuses her of being unfaithful because of it. The prude crew ♥

ok so you know how in china 'cut sleeve' was used as an euphemism for homosexuality. that but in lorasia they use 'lullaby singer'. or 'angel fighter'. lately 'knightly escort' is making the rounds. there's a lot of euphemisms for gay people actually.

i've recently been having visions of Ban x Vib and idk if anybody else sees it

they'd cuddle on the sofa, watching some classic romantic movies (or at least some faves of Ban for one night)

I’ve seen some grumbling that the ORV anime would further censor the gayness surrounding joongdok. And while I get that with it following the webtoon which is already toned down, I trust a Japanese animated studio to lure in the masses with yaoi.

Whether it’s official art, interviews, the voice acting, the songs. Like don’t worry guys, the OPs and EDs are gonna be gay as hell. Especially the further we go in the story and it becomes more introspective/personal than action-focused.

While lgbt marriage is still illegal in Japan and censoring in its media obviously still occurs, many hurdles remain for creators to represent what they truly want or to simply leave in subtext. But compared to SK and especially China, I feel like Japan is less strict with this sort of thing. Plus they also know and will hone on the fact that orv is a project meant for a global audience.
