the five kage are so different and unique I always wanted to draw them together (I got too lazy to do shadows and all that stuff tho:^)

After Tendou moves to France and Hinata moves to Brazil, Kageyama and Ushijima are both left to make their way in Japan on their own - and since these occurances overlap, and they're already on the same team, it comes naturally to both of them that they move in together to split the rent and replace the former roommate that they had lost.

While living with somone 'new' is uncomfortable for both of them, they both quickly find their footing and both, equally, realize that they are "cut from the same cloth," that is to say, get along phenomenally. Most notably, however, is that they both realize how... uniquely free spirited their previous companions had been to things like house chores. Ushijima goes to take out the trash, one day, and finds that it's already been done. Kageyama finishes dinner one evening and realizes that he, in the six months they've lived together, has never washed a single dish that wasn't his own - he's never even seen a dish in the sink. They work perfectly together, with similar habits, similar needs - they stop turning on the overhead light at all, and instead the place is almost always lit from the soft yellow lamp in the corner of the room.

When Tendou or Hinata call home they are cute and sweet and playfully act remorseful for leaving. "I bet you're missing me so bad. I can't believe you're roommates with him! You're so antisocial, I bet you wish me, your best friend, was back to share the space with, no?"

And it is true, they both are missed terribly, but Ushijima and Kageyama find themselves at a loss for what to say. Kageyama can hear the question come through from the video call, and he can see Ushijima look up from the computer, eyes questioning and looking for help like he was known to do. Kageyama gives him a slight shake of his head. Its not worth it. It'll only upset them to know the truth.

"Oh, yes," Ushijima says, nodding severely as he lies through his teeth. "Living with him is... awful. Can't... can't wait until it's just me and you again."

They know, ultimately, that this roommate-friendship that sometimes feels more like a torrid love affair for how intently they hide it from their partners will have to end, and they will eventually make proper homes and lives with them, but for now, just for now, they enjoy the fact that neither of them had ever tripped over a shoe left out of place in the doorway.

Kage AU but it's Sakura who is a hokage. Sasori is a jonin who is always assigned to diplomatic missions to Konoha (perhaps kazekage has some agenda?). Sakura inherited the temper, passion for alcohol and revealing tops from the 5th. Sasori has to deal with it. In a very special way. Age gap preserved ofc <3
