Maui Brewing Company opens their third location, in the OUTRIGGER Kā‘anapali Beach Resort

Kihei, Hawaii (June 20, 2023) – Summer is sizzling around the beautiful islands of Hawaii, and Maui Brewing Company is fired up to announce that it will expand its operations on the island of Maui as the anchor restaurant at OUTRIGGER Kā‘anapali Beach Resort.

Located directly on Kā‘anapali Beach – recently ranked as the No. 1 beach in the U.S. – the new Maui Brewing Co. restaurant is slated to open later this summer. Maui Brewing Company will conduct limited operations, slated to start sometime in early August.  Ultimately, the restaurant group will also provide its island-inspired cuisine poolside, as well as room service and catering for large events on the resort grounds.

Fiercely local and handcrafted with aloha, Maui Brewing Company is committed to bringing a unique food and beverage offering to the Kā‘anapali community. The restaurant will feature expansive outdoor lanai seating, an open-air interior and family-friendly vibe that celebrates the brewery’s history, passion for the craft-beer way of life and of course, its Maui roots.

"Having grown up on Maui's west side and spending a ton of time in Kā‘anapali makes bringing the 'craft beer way of life' here extra special,” said Chris Thibaut, President and CEO, Maui Brewing Company Restaurants. "Our plans to offer a unique and high-energy beachfront venue for locals and visitors alike are fully underway and we can't wait to get up and running this summer! We're stoked to have a second location on the west side, along with our original location in Kahana where our history began. Our original restaurant in Kahana is also slated for remodel in 2024."

Eventually, Maui Brewing Company will offer up to 36 craft and specialty beers on tap, including Maui Brewing year-round and specialty releases, and craft beers from other small breweries. The cuisine will feature fresh ingredients that highlight the flavors of the islands, utilizing the abundance of local produce, meats and seafood available in Hawai‘i.

In addition to its stellar, award-winning food and beverage offerings, Maui Brewing Company’s sustainability initiatives are equally impressive. Solar panels cover the roof of the 85,000-sq-ft grid-independent production facility. It regularly sends spent grain to farms for cattle and even participates in grass roots eco-activities such as creating beach clean-up kits to keep the coast clean.

Most recently, Maui Brewing announced its transition to new, more recyclable packaging for all their products — not only limited to craft beer but also including Maui Brewing’s Island Sodas, Maui Hard Seltzer, and Kupu Spirits. The company looks forward to offering its unique products at OUTRIGGER Kā‘anapali Beach Resort and furthering the storied history of this remarkable location.

If you want to have an amazing buffet breakfast you have to do it anywhere in America, they have a wide selection of basically everything. I have stayed in many hotels all over the world from good ones to bad ones, the good ones are given that they will have great buffet breakfast, the bad ones will never have it or will just give you breakfast cereals, now for the mid-range its quite a hit and miss, some have great breakfast, some don’t.

Kā‘anapali Beach Hotel is a midrange hotel on a street of five-star hotels, when I stayed here I was not expecting an amazing buffet breakfast but I was wrong, in most cases it is even better than non-American 5-star hotels in terms of the range they offer. From savouries, cold cuts, Asian breakfast, fresh fruits and bread they have a wide range of selection even the pickiest eater will be satisfied.

In the hot food section there were at least 8 selections and not all of them I had photographed. There are three types of sausages like chorizo, longaniza and some sort of a homemade mini sausages. There was also some egg foo young, fried rice, beef stew, mahi mahi in cream sauce, salmon, pepper beef, miso and many more. Just think about it, who serves beef stew and pepper beef in breakfast? Only in America.

But wait it does not stop there, they also serve a wide range of cold cuts and processed cheese; pastries like croissants, Danishes, cupcakes, muffins, French toast, hotcakes, waffles and sliced bread that some of you might have never heard of, from taro bread, marbles ones and the normal ones they have it. Fruits should never be missed as well, rock melon, honey dew and watermelon are just the beginning. And to top it all up they have also a wide selection of fruit drinks, hot drinks and coffee.

Its will be a mission to try them all out specially if you are presented with options that you usually have for dinner. On my three days stay here I think I failed to give it all a shot and I think you will need at least a full week to try them all given that they do not change their menu after the third day.

Every dish was great, the only one that did not seem right was their miso, I guess they just don’t have enough miso paste that day I tried it as it was lacking in flavour. The place was amazing, it has this family feel on a relaxed atmosphere add to that a great staff behind it, all you need to worry about is how not to miss this when you are back to the reality of life when vacation is over.

Kā‘anapali Beach Resort will welcome some of the best watermen and women who practice ancient Hawaiian canoe sailing at the 13th annual Wa‘a Kiakahi festival, June 2-4. Events will include traditional Hawaiian ceremonies, sailing canoe rides, and educational talks about celestial navigation and water skills.

Friday, June 2

8:30 a.m. Rigging of canoes at Kahului Harbor canoe clubs. 11:30 a.m. Race start from Kahului. Ten crews race approximately 27 miles to Kā‘anapali. 3 p.m. Race completion at Kā‘anapali Beach. Arrival of sailing canoes with a traditional Hawaiian welcome ceremony.

Saturday, June 3

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free sailing canoe rides for all ages, “talk story” opportunities with race team members, and demonstrations between Kā‘anapali Beach Hotel and Sheraton Maui.

Sunday, June 4

8 a.m. Race Ceremony 8:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. Race start from Kā‘anapali Beach. Sailing canoe send-off and traditional Hawaiian farewell ceremony for Mel Paoa Pailolo Race: 10 six-man crews race approximately 27 miles from Kā‘anapali to the island of Moloka‘i.
