Young Pup Journal #3 7/24/17

Again, read more below,

Well I finally recorded the last track I need for this project I’ve been working on. I’ve run into a number of technical issues but tbh who doesn’t expect that.

At the place I work at I asked for mondays off for band practice for a local band im in. They’re response pretty much was “You’re only gonna be gone in the evening. Come in during the day!” to which I sigh and shrug my shoulders and say “Fine. I guess I could still use the money” but today was special because I had to show up over an hour late to band practice because they need me and I guess nobody else can help carry one thing for a few minutes. Work can just be overwhelming at times and it can be hard to deal with.

Have I mentioned yet I have some great friends? One thing I love very much is some of my close friends. They are amazing and the only thing I don’t like about them is missing them whenever we’re not talking. You ever see Great: The Show? Remember the giraffe that says “I love my fwiends!” thats me. Just thought I’d mention it

Idk about you guys but I hate long drives at night. Something about having all that time to myself while i’m tired is weird and scary to me. Maybe I’ll talk more about this another day.

I’ve decided i’m gonna upgrade to soundcloud pro and dump a few (5?) tracks the day I do. I really don’t want to just lose money for no reason, so if you like these journals please consider following my soundcloud or supporting my patreon

Young Pup’s Journal #? 7/27/17

Sorry, i’m aware I missed a day. I’ll try to keep away from doing that again :\

Writers block sucks. But, it’s different for me this time. You see, “Recovery” was a song I released a while ago ( https://soundcloud.com/jzag96/recovery-original-song ) that I wrote dealing with some depression issues and feeling like my music was kind of a failure and I was wasting my time. I spent a very long time working on the song, and I was hoping it would help me get my music career back on track. It didn’t get the reception I had hoped and ever since then I’ve struggled to come up with anything new.

See like, I feel like I need to make a tier 1 song and anything short of that won’t be enough so I keep starting new projects and ditching them in super early stages and I just don’t know what to do,

Also, here’s sort of how I’ve thought of it

Tier 1: Dance or Die!! - High Noon - Mellow Maritime Tier 2: Grand Night Zone - Recovery - Your Journey Has Come To An End - Industrial Zone Tier 3: Resurgance - Megaman X Original Song - When Day Turns to Night... I am very proud of the three tier 1 songs I have. BUT. They have cursed me. I can’t write a good song knowing I have 3 great songs I made. I could be doing so much better, and as a result I do nothing but get sad and dive deeper into this pit I feel like I’m in.

At the same time, it’s weird to tier up my songs like that but in my head I do. I have my favorite original songs and I just sort of organize them like this. It’s just kind of weird to say “Yeah... Grand Night Zone is good... but High Noon is better” when both of them are original songs of mine.

Is that weird for artists of other types to do? Say a certain piece or your work is better than the others, or even have your own tier lists.

If so... what’s your favorite of your own works? And why isn’t it your newest one? Also,
