I saw someone arguing under a Black Butler post on Instagram about the way Sebastian carries Ciel. It was basically a back and forth about if or if not Sebastian carries Ciel like a mother or father would carry their child.

So then I did a little deep dive into different ways Sebastian held Ciel in his arms and I have to tell you, most of the time no parent would carry any child like that. Not even just because it's inappropriate but also because it's impractical.

For example, most of the time when a child is not sitting on your hip it's most likely resting on your underarm, because that way you can still use your hand and lift more weight for longer.

I have never seen a parent or teacher grab a child's butt to carry it, especially not with both hands.

I have zero problem with people seeing Sebastian as a Dad for Ciel, if that's your headcanon you do you, but I kind of see a problem with trying to sell a full on ass grab as something 'any parent would do'. (In this case especially, because it was a comparison to real life relationships, and the picture being discussed was a full on ass grab.)

The source material is very suggestive and I personally believe it's way more harmful to pretend that something like this, is completely normal for parental figures in real life. Especially because I get the feeling it's purely done to somehow make their relationship morally 'okay'.

So yeah, that's what I thought about on my free weekend also please let me know if I'm completely off here.

Bad Batch Werewolf + Vampire AU Nonsense

A snippet of some brainstorming thoughts about a Vampire!Hunter and Werewolf!Crosshair AU. Maybe I'll write a fic, but until then, I'll share my breadcrumbs of ideas~

___ Hunter’s backstory is a messy one for another time, but what matters now is that Hunter cares, and he’s no monster.  He tries, and he makes it comfortable, and that’s what counts, right? Oh, and these poor fucks are all goners anyways, so yeah, he's definitely no monster.

Hunter is a vampire.  What kind, who knows. But he’s definitely vampire enough when the need for blood grows strong enough that he sets out to the junkie corners in the worst places of town to find…well, he hates the word ‘victims’.  After all, they did this to themselves.  To set someone free.  That sounds much nicer.  

Of course, ripping their throats open and fiendishly sucking them of their blood as their final heartbeats spurt wildly from their arteries into his mouth sounds a lot less well-intentioned, but it’s a quicker…and more fruitful…means to the same end.  Right?

Vampires aren’t allowed the blessing of mercy, are they. So yeah, it’s a well-intended bloody fuckfest.

The skinny, silver-haired man looks sufficiently gone, like Hunter’s past victims.  He’s clearly seeking death, and who’s to really point fingers if Hunter brings it a bit quicker? Unfortunately, drugs taste horrible.  In blood, that is. So Hunter always carries Narcan with him, because…while he hates this part, and they hate it too, he’s selfish enough to need to…detox…his prey before he takes it.

Unfortunately, again, the prey tend to not like this sudden sobriety.  This one is no different.

Hunter attempts to promise a sweet release, and usually, he’s able to catch them to do exactly that, numbing them with a sweet analgesic from his mouth that apparently feels better than any opioid, from the sighs that he hears when he bites. But Jesus, this skinny motherfucker is a BITCH. He snarls, and goddamn if he doesn't sound like an actual motherfucking dog.

The skinny silver haired stringout pushes him away with unexpected force and hazy, hazy eyes clouded in redness bore into him with a wrath fueled by drugs and hell. Hunter jumps back, more out of surprise than anything. What kind of amped-up hick strength does this high-ass twig man have in him? He’s not happy, that’s expected as the Narcan hits, but something about this one seems practically…feral.

Before Hunter can apprehend him for closer inspection, the silver-haired junkie runs.

I have this headcanon that Duke is like… the only person who can shit talk Damian to his face and everyone else is flabbergasted bc like- its damian, but Duke lives with the guy and actually has no chill, so Damian allows it because… Duke’s like… his closest brother because they live together.. like-

I think it would be nice to have the option to hide numbers on ao3. Make it where the 'kudos' and 'hits' number is author-viewable only, have an alternate option for when a list is sorted by such so people can read things based off their tags and preferences rather than see big number go brrrr

I speak as someone with popular fics, it doesn't have to be a requirement but like, as an option? This could go for other websites too, tumblr notes and the like.

okay hear me out ik it’s mixing runs but still:

imagine all that stuff between joker, harley, and tim goes down: tim getting kidnapped, then brainwashed, joker junior happens, all that fun stuff and everything is the same event wise BUT tim either doesn’t kill the joker or he lives.

life moves on and tim heals as much as a vigilante can, harley leaves joker for ivy, joker still causes problems but no bat has died from him since jason and he’s still a psychopathic asshole but whatever. the thing is they keep tims past under lock and key, and none of the other bats know besides bruce and alfred.

it all comes to a head when they’re all kidnapped by joker and restrained and are losing hope by the minute for someone to save them and suddenly out of nowhere tim stills staring at something in the distance until his eyes go wide. the rest of the batfam don’t understand what’s going on until tim barks out a sharp command and two somethings come crawling out of the darkness and lo and behold it’s lou and bud (jokers hyenas) and they listen to him. they stop a bit in front of him only for tim to give another sharp command of gnaw before they’re shredding the rope. and right after they’re done, they lick his face like some overgrown puppies and tim doesn’t look like he’s enjoying it at all bc who knows who they’ve eaten. but tim gets up and unties his family and they all defeat joker before sending him off to arkham again.

this raises a series of questions like why do the hyenas listen to tim? why don’t they maul him on the spot? why are they acting like big babies and why does tim care where they go after the battle? why is he calling harley to pick them up and why does he have her number? so many questions.

I'm still thinking about how Ben's death was different from the others. How others will haunt yj because of the act of cannibalism, eating stricte their flesh but in this case they also consumed Ben's soul. Layer by layer Ben was deprived of humanity. Day by day he became less and less a human, person but a symbol, a thing that is supposed to bring benefits. He went thru 5 stages of grief, but not about someone but himself. We, as viewers for seasons observed how the yellowjackets team are taking off the masks, giving up social norms but this time we saw giving up the core of the soul, being. Survival. Other deaths were lacking internal battle, process, they were quick. Mostly silent. Their bodies were as prepared as they could have been in wilderness reality. Frozen, "clean". Ben was rotting, inside and out. It may be funny to talk about cleanliness in these conditions but he was there, laying for weeks, even without the basic cleaning of river water.

Food strike is one of the most famous forms of protest from prisoners. The last thing they can control, dying on their own terms. Yellowjackets took from Ben his control of basic body functions. Washing, eating, don't know about defecation but as a large, adult man now really without the ability to walk - we can only guess.

The scene of feeding him with the tube was the first one that broke me in all of the scenes of this show. He was stripped of the last thing he could control. That was a signal for them for the "medical" procedure, not to see how desperate they made him.

And at least - the thing he wanted the most was to avoid being cannibalised. Not only that he was but his head became a trophy, pig with the apple in their mouth, rich people's feast sign of power.

"Of all the ways of lose a person death is the kindest" - not in Ben's case.

This is your periodic reminder that it's possible for multiple people to be right at the same time. It's possible for multiple people to be wrong at the same time.

It's possible for people to have equally valid needs that fundamentally conflict. It's possible for people to have worldviews that cannot be reconciled.

It's possible to have good intentions and do harm. It's possible to have bad intentions and do good.

People are complicated, the world is complicated, and simplifying everything down to a black and white worldview where some people are Bad (and therefore incapable of being right or kind or good) and some people are Good (and therefore incapable of being wrong or cruel or bad) is only going to cause harm.

I'm seeing a lot of posts about Chi snapping the belt indicating a kink. And you're probably not wrong but...

I just want to point out that's how you test to see if the belt is leather or imitation. When he got the belt Chi looked surprised that it seemed genuine (and we know it is because we saw Suo Wei come out of the official store with it). But Suo Wei says that it's just an A grade knock off. Chi is snapping the belt and becoming fully aware that Suo Wei spent his hard earned money on an unnecessary gift. Chi knows Suo Wei's financial situation. It's a big deal that he spent that much money. From the look on his face, I'd say Chi is trying to figure out if this is a manipulation or a sign that his Dabao really missed him.
