About how old is Mc in the poppy playtime after math?
ok so
if the big bad happening (we won't name it for spoilers sake) happens in 1995, ten years from then is like, 2004? 2005 maybe, is when the games events happen? idk
and let's say mc was 20 then, so 10 years after that mc would be around 30.
i imagine the mc was not quite high enough up the company food chain to know about everything that was going on, but at the very least knew about the existence of the big toys and at least saw most of them walking around at some point (since they all seem to recognize the player to some degree).
perhaps they were an assistant or errand runner of some kind, and their errands took them all over the factory.

This month's theme for @choochooboss' monthly magma session was recreating movie scenes/posters, so once I was struck with the vision of the Nimbasa Trio but in Bonds Beyond Time, I couldn't rest until I got it out of my system
I might. Do more screenshot redraws. This was just really fun

i forgot to post when we finished s6 but final thoughts from The Great Rewatch are finalised as such:
when [Newfoundland] appeared on screen after lena was not in the show for THREE WHOLE EPISODES gf let out a huge sigh and was like “okay surely this is just her first step on the way to ireland. finally.” lmao
said she can’t imagine who the whole newfie accent scenario must have been worse for— katie who had to grin and bear it while people put on the worst lucky charms accents on earth to her, or the poor people who were forced to do these terrible accents directly to an irish woman’s face
when the courage totem was explained as “giving people nearby unbridled courage” gf very conspiratorially said ‘imagine if lena got the courage and kissed kara or something’ WHICH IS I THINK HER FIRST TRUE UNPROMPTED MOMENT OF SUPERCORP SHIPPING (it only took us 6 seasons to get there)
IMMEDIATELY clocked dansen was going to adopt esme and omg did she love esme. “this wee girl is so delightful, usually when they bring kids in they’re awful and annoying but there hasn’t been one moment i don’t love her”
was actually fuming when she thought cat grant wasn’t going to make an appearance, but then was sooo so happy with all the cameos in the end
was REALLY pleased to see kara not end up with anyone romantically in the end and thought that was a pretty big step for them to take
“what was the purpose of lex at all this season?”
is still sad about poor kelly who took a header off the catco balcony in s2. exact words were “don’t worry kelly i will never forget you even though ALL OF THESE ONES DID”
and so it all ends again. finishing it was actually properly sad and i’d say we’ll be rewatching the whole thing again before too long bc gf already said we should just start it straight over lmao
and to anyone who has not rewatched the show since it ended, i really do actually recommend it. having the deep love for the characters but slightly fresher eyes make it all so much nicer and more palatable imo and yes they made loads of mistakes but i have to admit it was a lovely show all told

I don't think like the little, young kids like 6-10 should be watching Hellaverse stuff and whatever, yeah, but I do find it funny that people are lumping TADC and Murder Drones in it as well.
"Children shouldn't be watching adult shows!!" your adult show's most egregious moment was a joke calling a character "submissive and agreeable" and it looks like Sonic Schoolhouse in 4K

oh did you not like sys tem coll apse? why not if you don’t mind me asking
Spoilers for system collapse below!
- felt very much like publishers/editors or whoever else were like hey Mwells this series is a smash hit you got anything else in the tank? And mwells scraped together a bunch of discarded scenes and concepts from the prev books and mushed that together into a minimum viable product
- no growth - all character arcs are either rehashes of what already happens in prev books or have no impact whatsoever. MB already learns that it cares about its friends and its friends care about it, that it can rely on them (hello Network Effect aka the most SLAMMIN AWESOME scifi action story i’ve read all DECADE); Tarik being a former corporate death squad trooper or whatever has absolutely no effect or consequence on anything; MB has even already crafted its own narrative & shared it, hello the documentary with bharadwaj??? the files it cut together for 3? THE WHOLE CONCEIT OF THE SERIES WHICH ARE THE MURDERBOT DIARIES WHICH ARE FRAMED EXPLICITLY AS NARRATIVES MB DELIBERATELY CRAFTS & SHARES WITH OTHERS???
- the climax of the book is. A montage.
Of our heroes making a powerpoint presentation.
I WISH this had been cool. It would’ve been hysterical to have a Final Battle be a pptx fight. Except.
It was. A montage. And then all the actual defining decisions happen offscreen. We don’t even get to see our heroes DO the actual thing - MB’s hacking gets a lot more detail than the construction of the pptx. Furthermore, how is this any different from what the corporate side is doing? Literally they’re both presenting competing propaganda pitch decks to a skeptical investor board that has what they want. It doesn’t actually matter that One Of These Powerpoints Is Always True And The Other Always Lies - how is it meaningfully different from a narrative & character standpoint? Right from the start of the series, PresAux are markedly different to all prior humans MB has had experience with - they are non-corporates! In this story about corporations/capitalism ruining everything! And then our other main heroes we meet, ART’s crew, are aggressively ANTI-corporate! So to have the climax of this latest book be “well both sides did the same action but one of them was objectively cooler bc it was Righteous - no dw it’s all happening offscreen anyway. Who cares.”
Well. Idk man, i was fucking bummed! It was boring!
Not to mention that the entire stakes of this whole… thing… are so lacking, as a reader? The rehash of prior arcs is especially poignant here, because none of the central concerns of the book feel like they matter. MB has already spent 5 books dealing with emotional disregulation, chronic issues caused by interactions of its organic + nonorganic parts, its attempts to navigate freedom, personhood and relationships in societies of bots and humans as a construct that is neither bot nor human but its own third thing, and learning to rely and trust itself and others. The first five books do this masterfully. System Collapse introduced nothing new, didn’t develop any relationships or plot arcs, regressed MB’s own main arc for no reason and ignored the entire symphony of a thesis of the entire damn series previous. Wish it wasn’t so :/

Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Danny Phantom, Batman - All Media Types Rating: General Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Danny Fenton & Wulf Characters: Danny Fenton, Wulf (Danny Phantom), Bruce Wayne, Tim Drake, Damian Wayne, Robin (DCU), Red Robin (DCU), Batman (DCU), Ra's al Ghul Additional Tags: Portals, Ghost King Danny Fenton, Comedy of Errors, DPxDC WEEK 2022, Time Travel, dp/dc week 2022, Swearing
Summary:
Okay, so Danny’s first attempt at a portal isn’t what one would call a success.
Unfortunately, instead of opening into a relatively safe (if incredibly underwhelming) cave, it splits a hole right into a great ocean of ectoplasm in the Ghost Zone, which promptly begins to flood the space around them.
It’s up to their ankles in seconds as gallons of foaming green water surge through the opening, with a thundering roar like waves crashing upon the shore.
“Uh…” Both he and Wulf just stare, watching with wide eyes as the day just gets worse and worse.
“Wulf!” Knocking himself out of his trance, Danny turns towards him and flaps his arms in panic. Oh, shit! This isn’t good! There’s no way this amount of ectoplasm in the material world is healthy, he’s going to be in so much trouble! What the hell are they meant to do? “Help!”
Originally written for dpxdc week 2022 for the prompt "Wulf teaches Danny how to open portals. It does not go to plan."

I feel like it bears repeating on like a daily basis, but I do unironically think Nirvana Initiative is like. Demonstrably superior in craft and meaning than the first AI: The Somnium Files. Like I'm not doing a bit on this blog or anything I just actually think AINI is that good and deserves the world. This is the hill upon which I will die, I'm right, fuck you.

by all rights Smile (2022) should have been a goofy fun horror romp but to this day i still get Actually Kind Of Upset when i remember it. i am making this post because i saw a horror YouTuber call it mid. it might be. but my cross to bear is that i have seen so many horror movies in the past few years and this is still the first one i think about when i think of movies that actually freaked me out

its really funny to me (and by funny i mean infuriating), how vastly different the acceptable levels of silly nonsense are between different eras of specifically the revival
its like, RTD era: incredibly dumb moment (affectionate), Moffat era: that's silly (derogatory), Chibnall era: I have to suspend my disbelief??? (borderline homocidal)

I haven't read Prisoner of Zenda, but I refuse to believe it could be any better than its satirical retelling The Henchmen of Zenda by K. J. Charles. Queer mercenaries playing triple agents to bring down both factions while having horny sex, and boss bitch women working together to take back control abusive, egomaniacal misogynists? What conventional Victorian waffle can compare?
