Ah yes the spider-

don't look at her or her like 500 kids ever again (admittedly it's more likely around the 25-30 range but still)

may or may not have eaten some shapes before (there's no proof, but...)

Prefers to just chill in the caves and rarely comes out

when she does come out of the caves, it's mostly to just stock up on supplies that are hard/impossible to come by in the caves.

design wise, She's more based off of a tarantula/trapdoor spider rather than actual web-weaving spiders.

she can still produce silk and weave webs but she prefers to brute-force things for the most part.

similarly to tarantulas when she gets stressed she can start shooting needle-like 'hairs' around, albeit ones made out of energy instead of actual hair.

Takes no shits from anyone

her beans are v squishy but she won't let anyone other than her kids touch them

you know that one image of a baby polar bear in the entrance of a cave of some sort and you can just barely see a adult staring down the cameraman in the darkness? same vibes.

her kids are well behaved and she does allow them to wander around a bit, but generally if you see their kids, mama spider isn't too far away.

First sketch of today ended up being me trying to redesign my interpretation of the Spider Dance level. Had no references nearby, which is probably why I didn’t end up liking it as much. Oh well, probably will use some aspect of this when it comes to getting a new finalized design for Spider Dance :/

Shapetober Day 1 : Spiders

The itsy bitsy spider came searching for the devil

“Make me strong, even mightier than Cotton” she said.

“What will you give me?” the devil asked.

“I don’t have much,” the spider said, “I’m not strong, and I’m not rich, what could I possibly give?”

The devil knew then exactly what to ask. “Give me your eyes, for they are the most priceless jewels and the greatest strength.”

And so she gave him her eyes.

As usual, I’m late again lol

But anyway! First shapetober drawing! Featuring Arachne, the self-proclaimed spider queen

I felt like writing a little poem relating to how she became royalty but I went a bit too hard on the symbolism lol

I’m going to skip day 2 because I have no ideas for the prompt “clouds”, so the next two will come a lot sooner (I hope lol)
