I am actually also a LAWYER who has a YouTube channel called RONALD OFF THE RECORD, and I just released my big video on Byler! I'm prepared to put my professional reputation as a lawyer on the line to comment on a piece of science fiction, because goddammit this is important to me! It is not "delusional" to think Will and Mike will become a couple, and there is nothing wrong with you if want it to happen! I'm now making this my new pinned post, so I'll list a few of my posts here for people to check out.

ADDITIONS: -28:00 On "We should normalize same-sex friends being affectionate, they don't have to be gay," I should have been clearer. HOMOPHOBIA is the reason for that stigma. Straight friends feeling like they can be affectionate in our society HAS to include normalizing LGBT+ people. -1:16:55 I should've said this more clearly: Will reminded Mike that who HE is, HIS unique qualities, make him worthy of love and make El love him, not dumb luck. And Will of course could convey that because Will loves the actual nerd MIke and everything he is. -1:17:06 Mike making El "not feel like a mistake" doesn't fit El, because she says that Mike looks at her "like I'm a monster, too". Nor did she "push you away because she was afraid of losing you". That's Will, not El. Mike felt love because Will was describing himself. -1:52:36 I forgot to mention that, in the original Nina opera, Nina's lover is ALIVE and DOES return. The Duffers changed the story so that Nina's lover does NOT return, to further suggest Mike won't return! -2:35:22 I'm kicking myself for not being more specific about Mike and Will being heroes in more than one way: I think the theme of bullying from s1 will return, with Will (and also Mike) having to face bullying for being boyfriends in Hawkins.

You're Here!

One piece x GN!Reader. (Sabo, Nami, Luffy, Zoro, Sanji). Fluff. 1265 words total. You meet them after a long time and jump into their arms from a cliff.

“Ahhh…” You haven’t seen your lover in so long. You miss them, though that should be obvious. On the bright side, they are coming soon. So here you sit at the top of a cliff, waiting for them to show up when you spot something, someONE. It’s them!

Sabo

“They should be here somewhere..” Sabo mumbles to himself, carrying his pipe in his hand just in case you’ve been ambushed by some sort of enemy or animal.

“SABOOO!” There’s a yell and he looks up to see you on the cliff, his eyes brightening. You aren’t in trouble.

“(Y/n) you’re hhEERE!?” His voice cracks louder as you happily jump off the cliff. Now you are. His eyes go wide and he runs to you, his heart calming quickly to focus on catching you. He’s got experience in unexpected behaviors from both being a revolutionary and because of a certain rubber boy. He drops his pipe to the ground and catches you, stepping back from the impact, and to make sure you feel none of it. Once you’re safe and smiling at him he sighs in both relief and exasperation. “You could’ve at least given me a better warning.”

“Sorry, I was excited.” You can do this again, just tell him next time.

Nami

“Stupid forest.” The navigator mumbles to herself as she walks through the trees.

“Nami!!” Her name is called out and she looks up.

“Oh you’re up there. Ugh how am i going to get up there.” She grumbles, then cups her hands around her mouth. “(Y/n) is there a way down from there!?”

“Yeah!” You yell back.

“Okay come down from th-” You jump off the cliff and her jaw drops. ‘They did not just do that.’ She thinks to herself, quickly going to denial. ‘This isn’t happening.’ Nami goes pale as you fall because this is, in fact, happening. Not only did you jump, you jumped when you aren’t going to survive from that height; or at the very least you’ll get injured. She can’t just let you fall to teach you a lesson, and no one else is around her to catch you instead. Nami curses and pulls out her baton, creating as thick a cloud as she can to soften your fall. You finally land on the soft cloud, the bumped thick water sheet stretching and breaking your fall. Unfortunately, you still end up through it and onto her, sending you both to the ground. She pants, still processing, yet you sit up with a smile like nothing bad happened.

“Nami I-” She sits up and bonks you on the head hard. “ACK”

“Get off me.” Uh oh, she’s really mad. You shimmy off of her and she clenches her jaw. “You are UNBELIEVABLE. Do you think you’re made of rubber!? Just gonna bounce off!? I’m never coming to get you again. I swear Luffy has been a bad influence on you and the BOTH of you are sooo in trouble when we get back.” She scolds you for almost 10 minutes, then you and Luffy back on the ship for another 10; when the captain cracks up at what you did he adds another 5. Never try that again. Ever.

Luffy

“(Y/n)!! Hello!??” His voice sounds impatient as he bounces on his feet. He can’t help it, he’s been away from you for so long, longer than he’d ever allow usually if it wasn’t so important… “Hmmmmm..” There’s a frown on his face as he scans his surroundings.

“UP HERE!” You yell and he looks up at you, eyes shining as a big smile replaces his previous frown.

“(Y/N)!” On the same wavelength, you jump down right as he stretches his arms out to get to you. “WOAH!” He’s caught off guard for a second before he manages to grip onto your shoulders instead of the cliff, smashing your bodies together at high speeds. He falls onto his back,

Boing boing boing

but he’s rubber, so it only makes him bounce a few times before you both settle onto the forest floor. Luffy sits up and adjusts his hat. “Phew!” His eyes lock onto yours and he grins happily. “Gotcha!” His voice is cheerful as he laughs, everything is sunshine in his head so you can do that as much as you want. It’ll be fun! Though it’s really who does it first.

Zoro

Zoro walks through the forest, obviously lost. He pushes through some bushes and finds the cliff you were supposed to meet at instead, but he’s on the ground from it and not on it. “The hell, this map is useless.” He curses as he looks down at the perfectly drawn map with clear directions that a child could follow.

“HEYY!!” He hears your voice from above and looks up.

“The witch drew this map badly! Wait there I’ll get to you!” He yells at you confidently.

‘He is NOT making it up here.’ You think to yourself. “I’ll just come to you!” Yelling back, you step back to gain momentum. Then, before he can tell you he’s got it, you jump off the cliff towards him. His eyes go wide.

“YOU DUMBASS YOU AREN’T RUBBER!” He tosses the map to the floor and puts his arms out. “Shit!” He makes sure he’s in the right spot, then catches you. The impact makes him quickly step back, only not falling from the strength he’s honed so much. Once you’re both safe he drops you onto the ground.

“Ow!” You fall on your butt. “I didn’t even get to give you a kiss first.” You deflate and Zoro looks down at you, clearly not pleased.

“Too bad for pulling that stupid stunt. Walk yourself.” He’s about to turn and start walking when he feels sad eyes digging into the back of his head. “ugh..”

“You didn’t miss me?” At your words he turns back to look at you, still frowning but his anger cracking.

“Obviously but you-”

“You don’t wanna kiss me? Are we nothing now?”

“You..!” He clenches his teeth, looking into your eyes. It’s not long before he breaks, combing a hand through his hair in annoyance. He walks over and picks you up. “There.” You give him a kiss. Even if it pissed him off, it doesn’t take much for him to get over it. Plus, it lets him show off his strength a little by catching you easily.

Sanji

Sanji walks around, hurried and looking everywhere in the vicinity. His (Y/n) sensors are going off so he knows you’re somewhere here, he just doesn’t know where you are. “Sanji!” His head snaps to where he heard your voice, up on the cliff.

“My love!” He jumps up and starts to air walk to you, a smile on his face. That’s quickly wiped off once he’s about half way there when you jump down. “LOVE!?” He goes pale and manages to catch you in his arms but you throw him off balance from the unexpectedness of it, Sanji having to lower himself with each step back until both feet are on the ground. You pull your head back to look at him with a big smile.

“You caught me!”

“Of course I’d catch you!” He says with an relieved tone, giving you a peck on the lips as he puts you down. “But please don’t ever do that again, just wait for me to go up. You almost gave me a heart attack.” He’s still a little pale, putting a hand on his heart. Be nice to him.

:p. Did it. I always have specific scenarios in my head and decided to do some with some random characters. You have no idea how much i wanted to make a "LUFFFYYYYYY!" Zoro scream joke reference in Zoro's. But i held back.

1. sidereal aquarius is the most “hidden” and mysterious out of the zodiac. the heart of aquarius, shatabhisha, is the pinnacle of that energy.

2. jupiter in shravana can create a linguistic master, especially for people born in rahu or jupiter mahadasha. most likely to speak more than 3 languages.

jason and hazel's beef in hoo was always way more interesting than whatever percy and jason had going on sorry. the differences in gravity and intrigue in the jason/hazel relationship vs jason/percy are only further compounded by the ways they're connected and the ways that their stories are similar

because 1. they have a HISTORY they knew each other before he went missing!!!!! they were in the fifth cohort together!!!! hazel is the ONLY person in the prophecy 7 that was in jason's life before he disappeared and had his memories stolen. yes they didn't know each other well but if you ask me that was just a bad writing choice rick made. can you imagine if they used to be friends/if jason had grown to be a big brother figure to hazel only to go missing for months and then they have a very awkward reunion on the argo because he barely remembers her and then she's even more betrayed because he doesn't wanna save nico initially. the drama. we could have had it all man

2. beef between a son of poseidon and a child of zeus/jupiter from the grace family? yeah been there done that why are we doing this again (and it was way more engaging the first time). god I wish we had gotten a big fight between a child of jupiter and a child of pluto instead

3. their issues regarding nico were way more high stakes than the silly alpha male posturing rick was trying to force between jason and percy especially considering how mega nerfed jason is written in hoo because no one's allowed to be on equal footing with percy

4. the tacit layer of betrayal in jason being hazel's ex-centurion/praetor only to end up preferring chb (to be clear this particular conflict belongs to jason and reyna and is more impactful between them - but since hazel is actually on the argo and reyna isn't she can still be an opportunity for this camp jupiter/camp half-blood conflict to be explored with jason)

5. I'm just gonna say it - I think hazel ought to have complicated feelings about white authority figures in a military camp as a black girl from the freaking jim crow era (not that this would have ever been explored satisfactorily in the books because as far as rick is concerned hazel is colorblind and hardly ever thinks about race despite growing up segregated. which is crazy unrealistic but whatever)

6. something something about the parallels that jason and hazel have about making hard choices about their pasts in order to have a more fulfilling future

7. this isn't necessarily interesting in and of itself but I just think it's neat that they're both big three roman kids with greek siblings that they didn't grow up with. what could have been interesting is jason seeing how close hazel and nico are and feeling some type of way about everything he never got to have with thalia and some exploration into how that impacts his feelings about the rescue mission. I'm starving for more grace sibling content by the way

8. they both have really awkward romantic conflicts in their pasts that intrude upon the present (whether he and reyna were ever even slightly romantically involved or not) because the jason/reyna thing is written as a initial source of conflict/uncertainty for jiper in the same way that hazel/leo (sammy) was a conflict for frazel to grapple with. this is interesting to me because like... hazel is connected to reyna and jason is connected to leo. like there could have been a moment of connection over letting go of pasts loves to wholeheartedly pursue new ones in the way that both of them are (were) with piper and frank

9. they both died. this bullet is a joke but I just thought I should put it here

10. percy is a well-established character and hazel and jason are new in hoo. percy has 50 povs in hoo and hazel has 28. economically speaking it would just be a more effective use of your limited pages to spend more time developing important interactions and conflicts between two new characters (esp new big three kids) who already have a more interesting foundation than the one involving our previous protagonist of 5 entire books

11. beryl grace and marie levesque. think about this for a second. ok that's all

12. both had their pasts taken away from them from major deities and are continually haunted and influenced by their presence throughout hoo

imo hazel and jason are the most weirdly written new additions to the main cast but I strongly feel that rick severely underutilized the way that characters like those two could play off of each other. hazel isn't just a sweet little cinnamon roll she is passionate and contemplative and morose and guilt-ridden and jason isn't just a bland rule-follower he is kind and committed and loyal and conflicted and they're both painfully self-sacrificing and I just think it's such a shame that these two characters with great concepts on paper and so many obvious threads to connect them didn't get as much as attention as.... whatever happened in kansas did

and I mean if you like the jason/percy conflict that's fine, but I think it's worthwhile to compare the merit of them because rick chose to centralize and build up to one more than the other when he had such perfect material to expand on the other instead and I think that says something about his biases. and I think part of the issue is that rick struggles with strengthening tension and applying complexity to conflicts between male/female characters that aren't romantic or onesidedly antagonistic like clarisse/percy. we have several noteworthy conflicts between male characters but when women are involved it's like rick doesn't know how to put them on equal footing and apply platonic depth. imo this is just another reason why big three girls (hazel/thalia/bianca) don't get to be as powerful and transformative in the overall narrative as big three guys (percy/jason/nico). all this world-changing narrative weight is afforded to big three kids but hazel in particular is weirdly excluded from all of that and doesn't get to have much impactful interconnectedness with the prophecy or with other big three kids. what happened to big three kids being super dangerous when put together or when they're on opposing sides of conflicts!!!!!!!! we had impactful percy/thalia and percy/nico and jason/percy and jason/nico conflict where is the fleshed out jason/hazel beef - it's right there!

anyways tldr all I'm saying is that jason and hazel complement each other well and rick was too hung up on the Colliding Of Alpha Male Strong Dudes (that he didn't even write well) to see everything that hazel and jason could have had instead

Dr. Morgan stood at the threshold of his lab, his pulse quickening as he stared at his phone. He had just returned from a week-long vacation in the remote mountains, completely cut off from civilization. It was supposed to be a simple break from his intense work of studying alien biological samples recovered from a meteorite impact site.

His assistant, Claire, had assured him that everything would be fine in his absence. But as he listened to her voicemails, a growing dread gripped him. Something had gone wrong.

At first, her messages were normal but they got increasingly... odd. He had listened to them in the car on the way to the lab and with each subsuquent message he sped up faster.

VOICEMAIL 1 Monday, 8:32 AM

"Hey, Doctor! It’s Claire. Just wanted to check in and let you know everything’s good here. The samples are stable, no unexpected changes. I’ll keep logging their activity and make sure nothing gets near the containment units. No need to worry. Enjoy your time off! You deserve the break."

VOICEMAIL 2 Wednesday, 10:17 AM

"Hi, Doctor. So… small update. One of the samples, Sample B, showed a bit of activity. It pulsed for a second, almost like it was… alive. Weird, right? Anyway, it’s back to normal now. Probably some environmental fluctuation. I’ll keep monitoring it, just to be safe."

VOICEMAIL 3 Thursday, 11:43 PM

"Doctor… something’s happening. Sample D started moving on its own. And B, it’s… growing. It’s not contained to its chamber anymore. I tried to secure it, but it, it touched me. I feel… strange. My skin’s warm, almost buzzing. I don’t know what it’s doing to me. I need you to call me as soon as you get this."

VOICEMAIL 4 Friday, 2:27 PM

"Hey, Doctor. You know what? I was totally overreacting. I think… I was afraid of something I didn’t understand. But now, I see it. The samples… they’re not hostile. They’re… welcoming. When Sample B made contact with me, it didn’t hurt. It felt incredible. Like it was… part of me. I feel connected to something bigger, something extraordinary. You should experience it too."

VOICEMAIL 5 Saturday, 8:19 PM

"Doctor… The samples, they’ve helped me so much. My skin is softer, my body… enhanced in ways I can’t describe. I look in the mirror and barely recognize myself… but I love it. My lips are fuller, my boobs are big and perfect. I feel… powerful, seductive, radiant. Every inch of me hums with energy. The samples made me better. That’s why I’m going to release the rest of them. I can feel their eagerness to touch me."

VOICEMAIL 6 Sunday, 6:00 AM

"Evan… come to the lab. They’re waiting for you. I’m waiting for you. We’ll be whole, together. I’ve missed you… so much."

Evan’s breath quickened as the last message ended as he stood in front of his lab door. He hesitated. Something was clearly wrong with Claire and the samples but maybe he could help her. He threw open the door and rushed toward the lab. But just as he stepped into the hall, he skidded to a stop.

Claire stood there, waiting for him.

Her once-pristine lab coat had now morphed into a tight and shiny black dress that barely clung to her body. Speaking of her body, it was now the most perfect female form Evan had ever seen. Her skin was flawless, her breasts envious and her curves made Evan feel weak. Her eyes were now black pools of liquid light, swirling with alien energy. She smiled, her lips impossibly perfect, her voice honey-sweet yet filled with something darker.

"We’ve missed you, Doctor." She said softly, stepping closer.

Before he could react, she reached out and pressed her hand against his chest. The black goo slithered off her fingertips and onto his shirt, spreading like liquid fire across his skin. Evan stumbled back, gasping as the substance soaked through his clothes, cold and burning all at once.

He tried to scream, but the goo surged upward, a wave of darkness pouring into his mouth and down his throat, silencing him. He thrashed, struggling to resist, but the alien substance had a mind of its own. It moved inside him, rewriting him. His muscles bulged, growing stronger, leaner. His skin tightened, taking on a flawless sheen. His features sharpened, transforming him into a figure of striking beauty and power.

Claire watched with a wicked smile as he convulsed, his body remade in the image of something far beyond human.

Evan fought against the alien organisms infecting his body and mind. He couldn’t give in.

“No! This is wrong. We have to fight it Claire!” He said trying to plead with her humanity but she wasn’t human anymore.

“Shh…” She whispered. “Don’t fight it. You’re becoming what we need you to be. What I need you to be. We have been chosen for a great purpose Evan, we will birth a new race to conquer this worthless planet. You and I are will be the first. I will be the queen and if you give in, you shall be the king.”

Evan tried to fight the pleasure now coursing through his body. He felt strong, powerful, alive. The alien organism showed him images of a world that he controlled, of an army that bowed before him. It was an intoxicating sight but what tipped him over the edge were the images of Claire, his wicked queen, moaning in carnal pleasure as he fucked her with a new more massive cock.

Evan’s body stopped trembling. His breath steadied, his eyes snapping open, jet black, swirling like Claire’s. His lips curled into a slow, hungry smile as he looked at her, desire and power coursing through him.

“Yessss…” He hissed, his voice thick with newfound strength. “Give in… I want to give in!”

The black goo solidified, wrapping around his body like armor, transforming his vacation wear into a sleek, obsidian suit that clung to him as tightly as Claire’s did to her. His hands flexed, marveling at the raw power that surged through him. He stepped toward Claire, his eyes burning with lust and purpose.

“My queen.” He said, his voice like velvet. “There’s much work to do.”

Claire’s eyes gleamed with delight. She traced her finger down his chest, her touch electric.

“So much glorious work, my king.” She whispered. “And we’ll make this world kneel before us.”

Looking at his profile from the screens above made you release a sigh. He looked gentle enough with that cute hairstyle, immediately making you think that he has to be a nice person, or at least someone who won’t scream your head off for being his incompetent manager.

You, filled with hope, calmly walked towards the managers’ room, collecting your things from Anri as she bid you good luck, giving instructions on how to find the player on your own.

On the way to the field, you quickly scanned through his profile, finding nothing worthy enough to worry about, a state of peace slowly washing over you.

Kurona Ranze who you spot on a nearby bench, playing with the bangs that cover his dark pink eyes. You quietly contemplate on how you should greet him, talking to yourself without realizing it—until he slowly turns around to see you intensely watching him while muttering. Embarrassed, he quickly looks away, causing you to snap back to reality.

Great, did you scare him? Walking to the bench he was sitting on, you gave him a 90-degree bow before apologizing for your obvious staring by telling your name along with your mission of being his manager. He nods twice, reluctantly giving you his hand while introducing himself as well.

Your thoughts of getting a scary player vanished after this interaction, relived that you somehow ended up with a very introverted softie.

•Kurona who you think is genuinely talented for the amount of hours he can go without saying a word—spending the first few days with him in complete silence, only you talking and asking questions every two minutes to check if a certain task is alright with him or not in hopes of breaking the awkward silence.

•Slowly, I mean very slowly he’ll open up to you, thanks to your patience being an everlasting ocean, waiting for him to talk to you first. And when he finally does, you learn how he tends to repeat some words twice, clearly self-conscious of this habit, but when you reassure him that it’s really cute, something in his chest blooms.

•You two begin to socialize more, conversations going easier than before and during casual talks, he makes you realize just how many common things you share with him. Super relatable and he absolutely looooves sharks.

•You always make sure Kurona never arrives late for practice, and he swear he tries but—mornings are just not for him. Needs at least 5 alarm clocks and an additional 10 minutes of him being able to stare into nothing while pacing out at 7 am.

•Quite organized which makes you happy, and his habit of making his bed before the first match of the day always earns him a thumbs up from you.

•BRAIDS BRAIDS BRAIDS. You always complimented his side braid, and after getting closer to him, Kurona offered to do your hair as well.

•While braiding his own in the morning, he’ll carefully do yours too on the way to practice so you two can match every day. People give you ‘the ones with the braids’ title, and he wears it like a badge of honor—absolutely loves this nickname.

•Training usually goes normally, with him effortlessly doing the drills, always training his skills more than necessary, and sometimes even rolling his eyes in secret when others are slacking off.

AFTER THE U20 MATCH…

•Since Kurona was observing from the sidelines, studying each of the players’ moves with precision, he learned quite a lot even without playing on the field.

•Probably chose the best team for himself since meeting with Isagi had a great impact on his overall performance, and played a big role in his improvement as well, making you thank the other boy for his unintentional help.

•He likes to train even more than before now. New players? Being a duo with Isagi? Getting to play under the watchful eyes of Noel Noa? He doesn’t disappoint, and when you get his weekly results back, you two celebrate by eating ice cream on the field. (in secret ofc so sssshhh)

•His favorite thing in the world is when you give him head pats after an exhausting match causing a shy smile to appear on his face at your act of affection that boosts his confidence a lot.

•Yet, when you scold him for something, his usual smile turns upside down, eyes looking at you like guilty goldfish. (what’s wrong with my writing help)

•Loves to yap about sharks to you—sharing his fascination with the animal—and will randomly tell you facts about them during mealtime or night practices. Has a bunch of shark-themed things and gives you one as a gift as well.

•Tutoring Kurona is funny because he refuses to touch a single textbook, and will disgustingly glare at the ones in front of him for minutes, keeping a clear distance, showing you just how much he actually hates studying.

•Only enjoys it when you use football terms, or watch Gurdians of the Galaxy in different languages with him.

•Monitors himself very strictly, and takes a big part in analyzing his plays in previous matches.

•However, on some days all he does is make you wear his sweaters as he lazily lays on your lap, letting you play with his hair while explaining that day’s overall performance.

•Bonus—tells you stories about his pet hedgehogs and promises to show you Pocari one day. (Pocari is the second hedgehog that’s alive if I’m correct)

World Building

It is important for you to understand how your fantasy world runs. It would make things a whole lot easier to write a novel if you understand how things work in this world. I would recommend planning out some information before you start your writing journey. I have briefly discussed some other helpful tips for writing a fantasy book before too! 1. Think about the currency/currencies in your world, do you want it to use coins or something different? Just like the world we live in, you cannot travel to a place that doesn't need some aspect of currency, whether it is dollars, euros or something else. A very simple idea could be using buttons for a currency.

2. What are the jobs and their purposes? How respected are they in society?

3. This links to number 2, but what is the agriculture and crop growing like? How needed are the farmers? Do plants grow via magic, photosynthesis or something else?

4. How does the world work through trading, communication, travel and combat?

5. How big are the villages, cities and locations in your world?

6. Who are the Gods/deities in your world and how did they create the world. Are there any in particular who are of importance? Why, why not?

7. What could be some of the stories in your world that have been told and passed down for generations? Are they myths, truths or does no one know?

8. What is the education system like?

9. Plan your magic system! For example, it could be generated through energy, a magic crystal, a gift from a God, who may have gifted something to the living beings in order to help them exist in some way.

10. Think about the names of your locations, if needed I can do a separate post dedicated to naming a place.

11. Impacts of characters. Why is your character good for the world/bad for the world? Are they even necessary to the plot, if not, think about if they even need to be written about.

12. How is their food prepared and made?

13. What are the politics like through voting systems and laws etc? Who are the people in charge?

So in Star Trek: Picard & Star Trek: Discovery, we learn that the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco still stands*, but since no one uses ground cars anymore, the road part has been replaced by solar panels.

Which makes some amount of sense. It's a historical landmark. You're not gonna tear it down just because no one drives anymore.

But... Solar panels? Really? This is the Star Trek future! They've got antimatter reactors and fusion. They've also got easy access to space: they could just put solar panels in orbit, and beam the power down. Like, I get the idea that it's a green utopian future, but solar panels are not really needed in the Trek future. Not on the ground, anyway. They can do far better with less impact, to the point that this is simply not worth doing.

Unless... They're historical solar panels! Sometime between Now and The Trek Future, the Golden Gate Bridge got closed to car traffic, and turned into a solar farm. And in the Trek future, they've chosen to celebrate that specific era of history by making it look like that. They don't need the solar power, it's just for the look.

* it still standing makes zero sense, IMO. There's one, maybe two major wars between now and Trek Times, one of them explicitly being nuclear. And the Golden Gate Bridge is a big suspension bridge connected to a major US port city. Even if the enemy only has like 10 ICBMs, that bridge is going down, sorry. But they've rebuilt that bridge at least once in Trek already (it got blasted by the Neil Breen in DS9: The Changing Face of Evil) so maybe this is just like The Golden Gate Bridge, version 5, because they keep rebuilding it?

- A boy watches his older brother tutoring his best friend on a tennis court and jumps to a conclusion.

- A girl is hiding her mermaid friend in the bathtub during The Search.

- A delayed Amtrak train ride from four different points of view.

- High School, 2013. How a decision picking a dodgeball team during gym class has impacted the present day.

- The boy who everyone called the King of the Swamp grew up to work for a big chemical company.

I came up with these just now! Have fun with it! Basically, these can be good launch points for writing a short story, novel, etc.

Presenting: An Absurdly, Stupidly Long and Wordy Warrior of Light-based Questionnaire, or as my bestie dubbed it:

30 WoL Think Thonkers

Less an ask prompt, more of a daily prompt, (though you can use it as an ask prompt if you prefer!) Answer the questions however you want: straight-forward, with stories or screens, or a mix of all.

Get any of your little brainworms out. Wax poetic, ramble off into several digressions, challenge yourself to answer in the least amount of words possible, whatever you're vibing with! (If you want to tag them #wolthinkthonkers feel free!)

This is very Warrior of Light and MSQ based. It's set from a Post-Endwalker mindframe, so there are some minor/vaguely worded spoilers.

I. Where is your Warrior of Light from? What was their home like growing up and what set them out on their journey?

2. What city-state did your WoL start in? How did they feel about it then, and how do they feel about it now? (ie, did their experiences sour their perception, or make them appreciate it more?)

3. How do they feel about being Hydaelyn's chosen? (Feel free to break it down from ARR's "Champion of Eorzea" all the way to "The Savior of Etheirys" as much as you like. Have those feelings changed, or just grown more complex?)

4. What do they do in their down time? Do they have any hobbies outside of Primal-slaying and world-saving? Are these lifelong hobbies or recent interests?

5. How do they feel now that "it's all over" (the story of Hydaelyn and Zodiark)? What do they plan to do next? Or is their story finished - and if you're retiring them, what does retirement look like for them? Do you have someone else taking the stage going forward?

6. Who was their Azem? What were they like, and were they different from your WoL? Who were their family, friends? Or, if you don't care for the Azem angle or went in your own direction for their past self, how so? How does your WoL feel about their Ancient identity?

9. The Warrior of Light has been through quite a lot, but what is a moment, big or small, that bolstered and renewed their spirit? Was it a cup of hot cocoa or a lovingly crafted sandwich? Did someone give them a few words or a gesture at just the right time that meant the world to them? (Of course, this can be a canon event or headcanon!)

10. What does home look like for them now? Do they still return to the home where they started, and if so has it changed at all? Or have they found or forged a new home? Who do they live with, if anyone? What sort of things do they keep in their personal space?

11. Despite everything, is it still you? Has the core of who they are as a person remained true through everything, or have they been changed by what they've experienced and learned, for better or worse?

13. Is there a canon moment you've drastically (or not-so-drastically) rewritten? A character death, or something that just really did not fit your WoL's character. Or just some alterations and personal touches you've added? Has that had any long-term changes on the wider story?

If there's some unique story behind your character, how does it show up and how did it play out?

18. How do they feel about the work they do? As the Warrior of Light they're tasked with quite a lot of violence, is it something that comes naturally to them or do they resist it? Are they merciless, do they try to spare as many lives as they can, or do they fall somewhere in between?

19. While many fights are dramatic or have high stakes, are there any especially memorable or difficult fights they encountered? Outside scripted battles, were there conflicts that you thought felt better if they were tweaked for narrative or lore-based reasons, ie their first time fighting a primal? Or perhaps a more meta "You the player had a hard time so it translated into headcanon for them".

20. Are there any unique abilities that they possess outside of what's in-game? Are they actually a dragon, or do they see visions of the future? Or, is there a special way that their Echo manifests?

21. Jobs! What job is your character and why is that the route they chose? Is your WoL a Jack-of-all-Trades, or just have one (or a few) specialties? Did they start with one job and change to another? Have you 'homebrewed' their job at all, adding any unique twists or details to it?

24. How do they feel about Hydaelyn? What was their perception of the Mothercrystal in the beginning, and how did that change by the end, if at all?

25. Do they have any particular enemies that stand out to them? Someone who inspired a lasting grudge? Our beloved and beloathed antagonists give us plenty of reasons to despise them, but are there any that particularly rubbed your WoL the wrong way? On the other hand, are there villains they can't help but sympathize with, even if it's at odds with the narrative or their allies?

26. What are their thoughts on the Ancients, their way of life, and the world they lived in? Did they sympathize at all with the Ascians, or did learning the truth not influence them in that way?

27. How well known are they? Does everyone know their name as the Warrior of Light, or have they managed to maintain some level of anonymity? Do they prefer it that way, and do they have any struggles resulting from it? (Getting stopped on street corners VS awkwardly avoiding questions.)

Everyone can have an addiction, it is not limited only to the 12th house Lilith placement. But we can conclude that Lilith in the 12th house person is more inclined to get addicted to escapism than being dependent on the subject of addiction.

Let's say both the 12th and 8th house Lilith can deal with 🌽addiction. 8th house Lilith has a wound surrounding power and control, so they will search for a coping mechanism that will prove to themselves their own power and autonomy. For the 12th house Lilith, this is about a fear of perceiving the reality they are in (dissociation). Their wound encircles the toxic environment they live in, so they indulge in the most satisfactory and 'safest' type of escapism according to their circumstances.

Lilith in the 12th house combined with noticeable 6th house placements can indicate prominent awareness towards their addictions or their ways to escape reality. That type of person who smokes but is fully aware of the consequences it has on their body. It makes sense because the 6th house is work, self-improvement and health-oriented (perhaps with health difficulties), therefore Lilith in the 12th house here can be a bit of a challenge in this lifetime, so they might be more motivated to heal. I think we can consider this dynamic not only for the 12th-6th houses but for all opposing houses.

It can be pinpointed to a confusing relationship with a parent; being gaslighted maybe. The house can represent in which area the confusion is/was. “Show-stopping” is the expression Y/N wants to convey each time she sits down and starts to write her songs. It is a “big word”, as she puts it, but there is no other word that would fit the feeling she hopes to transmit through her music.

“I started writing “BADGER BEWARE” back in 2021, I think around august, and by the end of that year I had written 3 songs. I stopped writing because I thought of either scrapping the whole project or making a 4-5 song EP. Obviously that didn’t end up happening because now there are 10 songs, 1 intro and 1 outro. All those songs hold a different place in my heart and while they all form part of the genre of Rap, they’re heartfelt in their own special way.”

Rap is a genre Y/N is all too familiar with. With her father being Eminem, an icon to the genre and the 2000s — even now. She says that the choice is not arbitrary, that there is an influence she cannot deny, but chooses to embrace it rather than push it away.

She dedicated the album to her boyfriend of 3 years, Daniel Ricciardo, who was the initial inspiration behind it. “Danny listened to me rant about my ideas for hours, sat in different studios with me and suggested different things that made the whole experience different than anything I’d ever done before. He also introduced me to — now one of my good friends — Charles Leclerc, who plays piano and is the one that composed the music for both the intro and outro.”

When asked about her favourite songs she picked a couple because “there is no way I could choose just one”. There is an evident passion to her craft when it comes to Y/N, something not everyone in her field possesses quite as well as she does.

“HONEY, RED WINGS and SUMMER SMILE are probably my top 3. They were all written at such drastically different points of my life, about things that have practically nothing to do with each other but that are tied by a little string. Some people think I pick my singles because they’re my favourite, which is true because all my songs are my favourites! But most of all I pick them because they’re the ones that I felt most comfortable publicising, all the other songs in the album are like a little secret between my fandom and me.

“There are also songs which are more personal. MONZA MASH, for example, it’s a very hyper song but it still is about an event that was very emotional. TEARS OF THE SUN, is also an obvious one. My songs are about something, and if it makes you feel anything at all then I did my job right.”

I see the benefit in “was able to follow along each step and check for myself that the stated claim was true” but I’ve also seen people say the private vetting process can include things like “had a phone call with them where they fluently spoke the Palestinian dialect of Arabic” that can’t be checked by everyone, or “privately showed me their ID/birth certificate/bank info/official documents”, which probably shouldn’t be publicized. if these sorts of things (which seem fairly reliable if true) are indeed being involved in the process in at least some cases, how do you think people should vouch for that beyond a “trust me it’s vetted” without further clarification, or is it impossible to do so from your perspective since they could just lie?

so my suggested solution to these would be:

post a recording of the phone call, so that other Palestinian Arabic speakers can also attest that it's true

post redacted, watermarked versions of official documents

but you're getting at a very big problem: it takes a lot of information to vet people. the post i reblogged was only able to vet that one fundraiser because she's a PhD with a linkedin, instagram, tiktok, and pictures of her on a scientific organization's website. most people won't have that.

at a certain point, it also becomes a nightmare for the vetters (all or almost all of whom i suspect are just people trying their best in a horrific situation). if it takes an hour (or more) to fully vet one single gofundme, there are a single digit or low double digit number speakers of Palestinian Arabic on here with blog histories that stretch back before October 7th with the ability to vet people, and hundreds of gofundmes... well, you do the math.

this is the kind of work that is normally done by people who are paid to do it full-time, in a centralized fashion, not ad-hoc on the internet. amateurs are going to make mistakes - i've seen blogs successfully filtering out unsophisticated scammers, but this current discourse has already rooted out at least 3 scammers who made it onto the vetted lists. it's asymmetric - scammers can do this full time, hone their methods, figure out what exposed them last time and fix it, and overall iteratively improve the credibility of their scams, but vetters can't really keep raising the standards with the time and resources they have access to.

so unless we make the standards so high that they exclude many actual Palestinians (standards like the ones used in that ask), i think there will be some risk of even vetted fundraisers being scams. how big? 1%? 5%? 10%? i don't know, but it's definitely nonzero, and based on the uncovered scams so far, they are diverting thousands of dollars (possibly tens or hundreds of thousands) away from actual Palestinians.

which is why i think people should just donate to the UNRWA. there's a 100% chance your money will go to helping real Palestinians, and while it won't be as impactful for an individual as getting them across the Rafah crossing, that's only an option for a very small percentage of Palestinians anyway. as said before, there are 800,000 Palestinians in Rafah, something like 500 of which cross each day. those that can't cross and the Palestinians in other parts of Gaza deserve aid as well. people are at risk of starvation and have very limited access to medical care. donation to the UNRWA and organizations like it doesn't free anyone, but it does keep them alive, and the money doesn't end up in the pockets of corrupt Egyptian border officials who will wring every penny they can out of Palestinian refugees.

people are, of course, welcome to do whatever they want with their money, but those are my 2 cents.
