On September 26, 1983, after the crash of the home video game market, Atari buried over 700,000 video game cartridges and consoles in a landfill in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Due to looting of the site, it was eventually covered in concrete. (Video Games, Event)

"Evidence Was Insufficient," Niagara Falls Review. September 12, 1933. Page 1. ---- Arthur Grandmason acquitted on charge of stealing auto carburetor ---- IS ON PAROLE ---- Arthur Grandmason, 17, of Kirkland Lake, formerly of this city, was acquitted in police court, this morning, on a charge of stealing a carburetor from a car owned by Mrs. Reid, 809 Clifton avenue. Evidence for the prosecution was given by George Reid, Detective George Hughes and Constable Norman Byers Reid said the carburetor taken off Grandmason's car by the police and produced in court was similar to the one stolen from his machine, but could not identify it.
Constable Byers told of arresting Grandmason who was in his car on Clifton avenue at two o'clock on Labor Day morning. An old carburetor was found in the rear of the car and the one on the motor had recently been attached, the officer said. Detective Hughes said Grandmason told him he bought the carburetor in a junk yard at Kirkland Lake and later changed his story. The Magistrate said there was not sufficient evidence to warrant a conviction. Grandmason is on parole from the Ontario Reformatory and the Magistrate instructed the police to advice the Chief Parole Officer of the case here.
